A very well organized trail that leads to scenic waterfalls and Cascades, the rock is gorgeous and the vistas are simply breathtaking, one must exercise caution while walking through the trail, good footwear is highly recommended, bring water and bug spray in summer, please pick up after yourself and enjoy Nature at its best!

It's beautiful! Great for a family with older kids, date or just to get out of the city. The hike isnt til hard and it's well worth it. Sometimes it's a bit busy but there is space for everyone. The falls and bridge are so nice. Very close to North Bay. Worth a visit The parking lot gets a bit weird sometimes. Lots of people loitering around in their cars for some reason.

Awesome hike to the top! It can be pretty difficult in some spots but overall it’s fun and you can take your time. My child under 5 walked it no problem even the hard areas. It’s worth it once you reach the top! We got to see some airplanes fairly close by.

Stunning series of waterfalls that are literally right off the highway with a nice parking lot for easy access. Great place to take the dog for a walk, as the trails wind for many kilometers in to the bush. Not the best place to take little children, disabled or senior citizens, but for anyone that is well bodied enough to handle the trails, it's a great place for adventures.

Went here is winter, and it’s beautiful. Clearly a popular spot for casual hikers and dog walkers. The frozen falls were gorgeous. It’s a bit close to the road, so you don’t ever really feel like you’re “away from it all”, but it’s definitely worth a visit if you’re in the area.

The pictures are always great but exploring the forest and meadows around this area just adds to the overall feel. Sometimes crowded - especially in the fall when the leaves turn. Whether it’s summer or winter Duchesnay Falls is a nice place to visit in North Bay. You can hike and enjoy the view of falls and bush. During summer it’s lavish green and in winter snow white. However, if one plans to visit during winter, please make sure you have proper clothing and winter gears. And be cautious about slippery slopes and where you step. During summer it’s totally different.

Beautiful view of the falls! The falls against the backdrop of red, orange, yellow trees makes for a perfect sight. Easy hike, good for pets and toddlers too. Steep climb at few places. Parking is free but very limited.

When you arrive Park about a block away off the road on a cliff edge with a great view. Then carefully walk along the side of the road to the trailhead which starts at the bend of the road. You may want to wear bright colors so cars can see you. The hike follows a roaring stream finishing with a two-tiered waterfall that is gorgeous. You can hike to the top of the falls to a viewing platform for some great pictures. We did a winter hike which was fantastic I advise wearing slip proof boots as the stones can be hazardous. Have fun on this hike it's a real treat and only about 5 miles one way.

Looking for something to do this weekend? How about snowshoeing Duchesnay Falls. All the trails are groomed and ready for you to enjoy. My favorite route is: From the parking lot, head 300 m west to the opposite side of the river, Then head up the west duchesnay falls trail for 400m and then cross at the falls bridge. From the bridge head, follow the south duchesnay valley trail, the valley trail is relatively flat. Avoid the rigormortis trail and continue on to the lookout trail. ascend the lookout trail to the Lake Nipissing lookout. head to barker trail and then take a left turn towards the east on the north duchesnay trail, then south on the east duchesnay trail following the river back to the falls bridge or follow the hydro right of way back to the parking lot

Quite the waterfall especially in the spring with all the rain. For those not up for a hike fear not as the falls are a short walk from the parking lot. The trails on site are nice but I’d stick with the falls as the trail is designed to be a loop but as per the trail map it crosses the River and with the flash flooding wasn’t an option upstream.

This is an absolutely beautiful waterfall. I love walking through and enjoying the view. There are so many spots to look over the falls and take beautiful photos. It's breathing scenery is worth stopping to take a look at, especially for nature lovers.

Absolutely beautiful and adventurous! There are 2 trials you can follow which will lead to some stunning waterfalls. (recommend you bring waterproof footwear just in case) You can get up close for some great pictures and even interact with some animals or reptiles (garter snakes are common in this area, and a few chipmunks) the trail leads far, and is a bit rough, so best to start around lunch time and bring a few snacks along the way so to finish before dark. On one trail (the waterfall to the left of the other one) the trails goes a bit into the woods and further up there's a bridge so you can also walk on the other side of the falls. Other than that it's quite the adventure you'd love to be a part of and you can obtain a lot of great photos so bring a good quality camera. That's all for now, that's for taking the time to read this review.

What an amazing find! Never heard of this waterfall, but we were impressed. The trails are very nice, not marked, but very clear. The views of the falls were spectacular. The autumn color added to the magic. Definitely will come back, as you can go to an outlook over the Nipissing lake.

The Duchesnay falls trails is a wonderful place to go with your family, friends and animals.. there are different varieties of levels for the trails so you can test your limit... It also has wonderful scenery around every bush, tree and rock.it is a great place where you can just sit enjoy your view and just let go of the rest of the world. I have been here so many times and there is always something new to see or a new trail to walk. I would 100% recommend it to people who just wanna have an adventurous time or see extraordinary things.

One of my favourite places. This is a scenic, free, publicly accessible, moderate level hike up a cascading waterfall. I strongly recommend that you wear proper hiking footwear. If possible, journey the day after a heavy rain for best experience. Let someone know where you are going in case you need help getting out. There is free public parking at the base of the falls.

We're not from Northbay, but every so often when we are visiting we will grab our cameras and head over to this spot. It's great for photography, hiking and just getting out of the house. If it isn't busy parking is no problem but at times the parking lot can be full.

This is a popular long, multi-drop, cascading waterfall close to downtown North Bay. Both sides of the falls are easily accessible and visitors can climb around surrounding granite rocks. There was no sign marking the entrance, but we noticed a small parking lot on north side of HWY17 just east of Main St W.

A rewarding hike and trail! As you enter, you’re greeted by the falls gushing towards you and birds singing along the way. As you thread ahead in the trail, like me, you would appreciate the well laid trail maps and a difficulty-rating for each route. I found this very helpful! There are enough and more picture points and the trail makes for a great way to get some cardio and to have fun with friends/family. As you elevate in altitude you’ll be drawn towards the look out point which is worth the hike and hype. The whole area is preserved in a way to cause as less disturbance to natural life as possible (Wild flowers, Butterflies and Lush greens) and the same adds to the beauty of the trail. Just a word of caution, If you’re going with kids or if you’re a rookie like me, I’d recommend to avoid the difficult-level trail as it keeps rising in elevation with rocks and stones. It’s steep too so watch your step if you don’t have proper hiking boots. I’d definitely not recommend that route during rains or just after the snow has melted as it gets even riskier. It’s a 3.5 km loop so pretty easy! It was humbling and amazing to say the least. PS: there’s good parking space right outside the entrance and a trash can for litter. Hope you enjoy it! ~GoExplore

This is a beautiful fall with a challenging hiking trail. Forest gets denser and denser as you go up. Free parking on the road which I personally like. Whole trail is along the river or you can say fall. It is famous place in the city, so there will traffic but not much. You can have your own space.

This trail is too steep and dangerous at the head of it. Covered in leaves and would be dangerous of a serious fall and injjury. Why have stairways not been built and smoothing of a path. We abandoned even trying to climb the rocks.. Don't bring small children anywhere near it. No signs even at the parking lot off of hwy 17 to advise of the danger and difficulty level.

The falls is very visually appealing and the air around it very refreshing. Its a long, high falls and the climb is of moderate difficulty esoecially for the older folks. Once you get to the summit you can continue on various well mapped out trails each of which has various difficulties in terms of inclines, declines, rocks etc. The Rigormortis trail wasnt as difficult as advertised, just very rocky and moderate declines. Take plenty of bug spray or better yet a bug mask as mosquitos and black flies are out with a vengence this year and are plentiful on the trails away from the falls. Overall a very satisfying place.

The rapids are really quite spectacular. There are parts of the trail though that could really use some more signage we got confused a couple of times. There is also inconsistency to the trail ratings. The lookout trail is rated as moderate in one spot and difficult in another. The view from the lookout tower is wonderful. You can see quite far in many directions. Be careful, the bridge over the river at the top of the loop is no longer there, you will have to back track to the beginning.

Awesome short little hike and trek through the woods to see a really amazing falls. At the time we want to this falls, it was rainy and muddy so a bit hard to climb up and down the sloped hill, but all in all very doable and enjoyable.

Amazing waterfalls which split into two sides. Trails on both sides and a bridge to cross further up allow full exploration. Best to wear shoes as there is lots of small climbs.

As a resident of North Bay, it is always fun to discover beautiful natural scenery within a short drive from my house. The falls can be found just past the Hospital west of the city. Be aware that the parking lot is rather small and can fill up quickly on the weekends. The photo ops along the trail are fantastic. Do be careful as the trails can be a little slippery and steep at times. Just take your time and enjoy the nature around you. It is very easy to forget that you are so close to a major highway.

It is a nice small waterfall. The trail to reach is also small but moderate difficult for elderly. The trail took less than 10 mins to go up to first point. Nice rocks to sit and enjoy the moment and water sound. Need to pay close attention to fund the parking spot.

In the past I’ve only visited the Duchesnay falls in the fall which is breath taking!!! But this winter adventure was also spectacular and the great thing is there’s a number of different hikes at different difficulties that you can try out which is also amazing
