REVIEWS OF Queenston Heights Park IN Niagara-on-the-Lake

Lynne Thibault

Great park for picnics and just walking around. If you are here during the warmer months you climb Brocks monument.

Lily J. Mills

You'll need to get there early on the weekends if you want a picnic table because too many people know how decent a spot this is! Washrooms are fine, though they can be a journey if you're at the edge of the park.

Tushar Thakkar

Do look out for the amazing view of the falls river , most people miss it , one of the best I've ever seen , enjoy the ride besides the falls

S Rand

Beautiful large park overlooking the majestic niagara river with historical monuments, a playground, courts, clean washrooms and access points to the bruce trail. We had a nice couple hours exploring the trail with our kids (relatively easy and somewhat flat, beautiful air and foliage but no water views on the trail that's what you're aiming for. Great for kids because you can turn around at any point and white trail is clearly marked the whole way.) We didn't use the park or little splash pad but I imagine it's an added bonus for the summer heat.

Jennifer Wagner

Beautiful park during every season! Also had a nice forest trail too!

Ritwick Hota

Great view and a nice pit stop. But nothing more to offer. No supplies or anything really so no utility value!

Rollz Royce

Beautiful, nice trees for coverage, splash pad (closed during covid), great views, washrooms, covered eating area (closed during covid) and a good place for a walk and with the escarpment, get a great sweat. However, just pay for parking ????.

Ms Panda Bear

I love hiking here. Always great trails especially for the dogs. Nice long consistant walks. And recently I discovered the mystery underground cave. It's so creepy. Next time I'll bring a flash light to see in it deeper.

James cameron

Awesome place lots of room . Bathrooms are clean seen cleaning staff on a Sunday afternoon . Parking 2.50 a hour don't mind paying that when my family has a clean washroom to use. I recommend this park for sure

Yusuf Taherali

Great park in Niagara falls to picnic in a quiet area few minutes away from the busy Falls area. Huge open areas, plenty of picnic tables, ample parking spots.

Michael Rosario

Beautiful park with great views overlooking the river the monument is way bigger than expected. Nice tree shaded parking spots and $1 an hour rates not to shabby.

Bree O

Great view from on top of the hill, but if you go down the trail there is an even better view. It was busy and no one had a mask on which was concerning, but you are able to park and see the view without getting out of your car if you want.

Anwar Darsot

Great place to bbq and picnic. Lots of open space. Well kept facilities and friendly staff.

Jennifer Sharp

Beautiful grounds full of history and the view of the gorge from yo here is spectacular. The children's playground was just ok.

Gobi Kathirgamanathan

Great little park. Can stop for a picnic or to walk around to see some statutes and great views of the Niagara River. Paid parking is enforced.

B W

Went for my church BBQ, they gave us free parking has a special place gift for to the church. Also $20 gives you a whole year of parking. This place very clean, perfect for picnics and nearby hiking.

Ria Spee

Lovely view of the lake. Great place for a picnic. Beginning of Niagara Escarpment. Brock Monument.

Jenn McLean

A lovely monument including a small museum representing an important piece of Canadian history. For a small fee, you can climb to the top of the tower. The staff were friendly and informative.

Jose Garcia

Beautiful park honouring the heros of the 1812 war and with a wonderful view of the Niagara River.

Carl Adam

Absolutely beautiful grounds, flowers and lots of shade if you need it.

Sara Scott

Amazing views of the Niagara River, playground for children. Lots of room for families and events. Groups can bring bbq to cook ????. Lots of history to explore and learn. Lots of areas to explore. Great trails of all levels for different groups - seniors, disabled, families with small children.

Joe Das

Note that you have to pay for parking now. Access to the beginning of the Bruce Trail is cool, and the view of the Niagara River is pretty awesome.

Renee Pomerleau

Brock's monument at Queenston Heights Park is captivating even at a distance. As you're approaching on the Niagara Pkwy from NOTL, it almost acts as a beacon guiding you there. The grounds are stunning, from the manicured flower beds to the sweeping views of Niagara River to the memorials and monuments that give you a window into the area's history. A beautiful place for a walk or picnic!

Livy Little

The light cyan color of water. Food for birds and squirrel.

Kalvin Fuller

Enveloping trees and foliage - calming to walk around. Steeped in history with amazing First Nations monument are.

Rick Champagne

A significant piece of History .. The Brock Monument stands watch. This is a testament to our long friendship with our neighbours to the south who tried to invade us once..and lost. Scouts from both sides of the now undefended 8900 km Canada-US border commemorate this each September by reenacting key battles of the War of 1812. The Scouts Brigade of Fort George (SBFG) campaign takes place on the grounds of Historic Fort George in Niagara on the Lake.

Gilian Verworn

A must see in Niagara. This park is very well maintained with lovely sprawling paths, trees and views. Perfect for a walk with a stroller. If you want a fancy restaurant experience or a bit of challenge in climbing the monument tower, they should be opening in the spring.

Dejan Ratkov

This is a nice place for a walk, featuring grandiose monument to Major General Sir Isaac Brock. The head of the Bruce Trail, 890km long hiking trail is located here. We were here in the winter time and it was reasonably clean for icy conditions. Queenston Heights was the site of the War of 1812 Battle of Queenston Heights, where Major-General Sir Isaac Brock was killed in action in the defence of Upper Canada (now Ontario). The Queenston Heights is a geographical feature of the Niagara Escarpment immediately above the village of Queenston, Ontario. Its geography is a promontory formed where the escarpment is divided by the Niagara River. The promontory forms a cliff face of approximately 100 m (approximately 300 ft).

Greg Switzer

Great historical site, and the staffer we spoke with really knew a lot about the history, the park, and the monument.

Bev OA

Absolutely beautiful park. It would be a great place to picnic and Brock's monument is here as well.

Shanthi Soni

Nice park and good view to see Niagara lake from a height.

Adam Duncan

A large, beautiful park located at a high point of the escarpment. The views from the monument are absolutely amazing and the wooded paths provide a peaceful stroll. This is also the head of the Bruce Trail.

Nam aste

A very historic and strangely beautiful beast of a monument. It looks gaudy however as you start to feel and understand the piece of our history it represents, you just get it. Big bold and ugly but a wonderful statement for an understated battle. And hey, some dudes ashes are buried under there. You will have to visit it to find out who. Enjoy the view but stay for the peace we enjoy because of it.

Jeremy Kiers

Very nice place. Clean and very big. Great spot for family and wedding photos because of all the shade available.

Mark Proveau

Queenston Heights is a great park with lots to see. It is home to Brock's monument of course as well as several other fun locations. It's a great place to take the family for a barbecue and to play out in the field, or the playground, or the splash pad. You can climb Brock's monument at certain times of the year however that costs money now which is a little disappointing. There's a great view of the lake from high atop the escarpment. They have excellent bathroom facilities as well. my only real gripe with queenston Heights nowadays is that they actually charge you to park there per hour which I think is a little ridiculous. I understand that most of the public places around the falls now charge for parking which is a real shame because all these places I used to go to as a kid now cost money to visit. Despite the paid parking we still have a great time whenever we go to queenston Heights park. There's lots of area to relax and lots to walk around and see. It's a nice calm park with an interesting tie to Canadian heritage. It's a great place to take the kids there's lots for them to explore and learn.

Dinesh Kathiresan

Nice park for relaxing and you get to know the Brock monument history.

Dan & Nancy Andrews

It was pretty quiet here today but when I asked the staff member about some of the rare trees he sent out the Master Gardener who answered all my questions for me. Some pretty amazing plantings here as well as a very well-kept park.

Ron Hamilton

I went to a wedding here this weekend. Between the raised ceiling and panoramic window views of the river, and the amazing stairway, this is an almost perfect venue for weddings. The facility staff are friendly, competent and willing to step in and help. This is a place I would heartedly recommend to anyone planning any major event.

Petula Thomas

The McKenzie printery was close but the kids had fun walking around the grounds.

Wadood Bhatti

Beautiful location, so serene and peaceful!

Diane Dietrich

An amazing place! I got married their last year.. we go back each time we are in the area! I highly recommend Queenston Heights!

Ali Abbas

Nice place to stop and enjoy the view. You can take beautiful pictures and relax. At the entrance to this historic Park you will be greeted by carpet bedding displays, along with formalized annual bedding schemes that surround both the Brock and Laura Secord Monuments. Nestled high atop the Niagara Escarpment, this is the birthplace of Niagara Falls - garden and nature lovers, hikers and picnickers have used this park for generations. Facilities include two picnic pavilions, washrooms, children's splash pad, tennis courts, a band shell, snack bar, children's playground and fine dining at Queenston Heights Restaurant with its award-winning VQA wine cellar. Queenston Heights Park is also a terminus point of the Bruce Trail, which winds it way northward over several hundred kilometers to Tobermory. This trail passes through the Niagara Escarpment, which has been recognized as a world biosphere by U.N.E.S.C.O. Parks Canada oversees the operation of Brock's Monument and also has a walking tour of the historic sites associated with this important battleground.

Haseeb Malik

This is a beautiful park, the picnic area is easily accessible and is right beside the parking, the washrooms are clean and located right beside the picnic area, *BBQ IS AVAILABLE* there is handicap parking right near the park and it has beautiful scenery and the tower has some interesting facts.

Mohammed Raza Belim

Nice garden to go out on a picnic with a family! You can see US border from several spot. Few nice trails around to enjoy your day

Lina Di Giulio

Gorgeous park close to Queenston Heights restaurant

Chantelle Drolias

Queenston Heights is a great place to have some outdoor space with your family. With the park, trails, Brocks Monument and more, there is lots to do and see time and again!

Sebastian Kluth

Queenston Heights Park is certainly worth a detour. Make sure to pay your parking lot fee. Up next, you can discover multiple stunning monuments located in a park with different trails. It takes at least half an hour to visit everything. Bring your camera to take some memorable photographs.

Bobbie Goss

Well kept park but the parking meters didn't work which is the reason for the 4 star rating. Tried multiple times on 2 different units with different cards to no avail. I have used the same ones at other locations like the Glen and Dufferin Islands without issues. Ended up downloading the flowbird app. I had to zoom out to find the map marker for that location since searching the location ID didn't yield results. Bathrooms were clean/operational which in the current Covid climate was a relief since a lot of places they're off limits. Beautiful view and trail.

Bob Dunn

Great place for family picnic or reunions. Tons of space! Well manicured lawn and gardens with informative displays of historical significance. Known for the Brock monument.

TCP 034

Beautiful place to stop and learn a bit about the war of 1812. Excellent views of the river. Well maintained and worth the trip.

Erik Covert

Very beautiful park and the Brock monument is stunning. Unfortunately the main reason we came here was for lunch on the patio as the weather looked perfect and we had been told it was a nice view but it was closed for a private function.

Randy Buttigieg

It's a nice park but the parking rates were ridiculous. I parked there to hike on the bruce trail and planned to be out a while. It ended up being cheaper to buy a yearly pass than if I paid for the number of hours I wanted. I could understand this during peak times but the parking lot was nearly empty.

Simply Emie Vlogs

Spectacular view. Amazing well maintained park. Rich in history and quiet. You would fall in love visiting this place. It was wintertime during my last visit and the view of the Niagara river is wonderful its more clearer view than summertime???? Not crowded. Its a very relaxing place. Its uniquely beautiful in every season ????

David Jubinville

Beautiful panaramic views of the river. Historic monuments remember the contributions of the Loyalists, First Nations, and POC who faught for the Crown in the war of 1812. The trailhead to many stunning trails that wind along the hillside through lush Carolinian Forest, and along the shores of the river. The park also features a large playground, canopy covered fields, an amphitheatre, and numerous historical monuments beyond the massive memorial tower. Parking is abundant, but can be pricey. Washroom facilities are open to the public, well maintained, and COVID precautions in-place. A nice place to catch your breath away from the crowd of tourists, exercise, or connect with family and nature.

Ever since I was a kid in the 90's this has been my family and I's go-to park for BBQ's and small gatherings. The atmosphere is amazing - tall trees, and spacious park spaces that included tennis courts, water fountains and long endless grassy areas.

Afzal Shaikh

Really hidden well maintained park that’s close to the fun activities if Niagara Falls. Great place to have picnic or bbq with your family and friends. Some hidden trails that also take you to Niagara on the Lake if your willing to make the 4K trek. It’s a must visit park during the summer.

Beautifully manicured gardens to wander spring to fall. We enjoyed the buffet Thanksgiving brunch at the Queenston Heights restaurant as well and we were not disappointed!

Graham M (G)

Pleasant little park with some great views. A few historical monuments can be found throughout, and there's a restaurant on-site. I did not go so I can't vouch for it. Right down the road from the flower clock and lilac garden, so you can hit all three without traveling too far.

Aqif Hassen

Nice park for the stroll or a stop before or after crossing the US Canada border. Not too many picnic areas but some great views and a beautiful monument dedicated to the war of 1812. Washroom are very clean and well equipped but they lock them quite early (around 4pm) or at least when we were there.

Dilany Nathan

Nice place to go for a walk year round. There are many trees and trails. The park is right beside Niagara Park Way and five minutes from The Niagara River, about ten minutes from Niagara Falls and Niagara on The Lake. Also there are bathrooms and plenty of parking.

D.D.S.G

Really beautiful park to look at the river and just to enjoy greenery. The restaurant is awesome. Pricey about worth it..the stout burger is delicious and fish & chips..1 beer 50 bucks.. not bad for a great view and quality food. Lovely staff.

Shan Sayed

I loved this park Know that it is Paid parking 2.5$ per hour …

Jasmine Jackman

Quiet park with beautiful views of the Niagara River. Bruce trails ...historic monuments, bathrooms and parking.

Linda Huynh

It’s a nice & peaceful place to walking around to enjoy the sight and relax ….

Rick Harrison

I had never noticed the Isaac Brock monument in previous trips to the Niagara region, even though it towers over it's area, and can be seen from all over Niagara Falls. The monument is surrounded by a very nice park.

John Wong

This park is quiet and and full of very tall trees. It is comfortable to walk through the woods in a hot day. Remember to visit the monument to learn about the battle that happened more than 200 years ago.

andrea pack

Worth seeing this monument to General Brock and learning more about the War of 1812. . Would the authorities please see to the weeds that are gathering on this fitting tribute monument and put it at risk of deteriorating . The grounds and general area are interesting and lovely too.

Prabhakar Chintalapati

Good place to bring kids, and don't forget to tell the history of this place to kids

Sylvia Finlay

Great history here- i thoroughly enjoyed all the plaques and especially learning more on the First Nations part of the War 1812.Brocks statue was huge! Very stately and the view was gorgeous as well

TheWisdom OfBeard

Very scenic park with amazing views, surprised by the sheer size of Brock's monument. Very lively park, and lots to take in.

Ashley Tanguay

We went on a beautiful walk through the park to stretch our legs from a long drive. Great park, easy parking, washrooms etc. Definitely worth the stop. It had a restaurant on site as well just not sure the hours as it was closed Monday afternoon when we stopped.

Amanda Mason

Nice place! Large areas that are perfect for family meet ups. Lots of stone that make it perfect for photoshoots. A lot of interesting history to learn about, I'm glad they have added something for the indigenous soldiers. Great view of the river. No real trails, a simple path but otherwise you just kind of meander along and enjoy the views. There's a restaurant open in summer too. Lots of parking.

Adam King

Nice open space with some picnic tables and bbqs around for families to come and gather. There is a trail that leads along through a forest for a nice walk.

sophia pinto

Amazing place for a BBQ. A day well spent.

Clarence Chu

Very nice park to visit. A great spot overlooking Niagara River that flows towards Lake Ontario.

This area is a hotspot for bird sightings. There was a few rare ocean bird reported there, along with other good sightings. We were thrilled to have been able to see these birds!
