Boring. Nothing there. Not sure if the government is interested in maaintaining it.

Ian Turenne

Can't visit due to golf course blocking the way

Andrew Impellitteri

A lot less busy than a lot of other attractions in Niagara. Good views of Toronto and plenty of space to walk around and very cool old fort. Good for a picnic on a warm day.

Tony Chisholm

Fort Mississauga is a very unique and beautiful spot and a "must" visit if you are interested in history when you come to Niagara on the Lake. It is unique that it stands in the middle of a golf course and has never been restored. You DO NOT need permission to visit this property and there is a path way leading to it from the corner of Simcoe Streets and Front. As far as I'm concerned it is one of the best kept secrets of parks Canada in the country. I visit it often and the ramparts around it offer a spectacular view of the lake. Parks Canada is in the process of securing the structure from any water damage and in town we all hope it will last another 200 years.

Anas Khalaf

Under construction for several coming years. Do not waste your time and plan a visit.

Neat little historical site. Totally unexpected. Overshadowed by Fort George across the bay though. But check it out if you're nearby. I hope they fix it and open it up for people to see inside.

(Translated) Military curiosity. Unfortunately I was unlucky because it was all in scaffolding. Well, one day you need renovation :) Nice views of the river and fort on the US side (Original) Militarna ciekawostka. Niestety miałem pecha bo cała była w rusztowaniach. The extra star is for the historic significance. I don't dislike the place but it seemed like it wasn't properly utilised/showcased/renovated. Fine for a highlight during a stroll. Great if you're not used to seeing things older than a couple centuries.

Did not find anything historical about the place and the golf course is always keep policing this place

Christopher Johnson

The only reason I gave this place a low rating, it that facilities do not exist here at all. The buildings & ramparts still exist, but no employees, you can go into the fort (not the buildings, except some rooms in the ramparts) to get to the fort, you have to go across a golf course, if you would like to visit the fort, it may be an idea to get permission first (you may have to wait until there is space on the golf course)

A wonderful hidden gem. I enjoyed the simple quiet nature of the structure. No tours and no fuss. Leaving it to you to discover and imagine history. A bit sad it is surrounded by a golf course though. We were there on New Year's Day so no golfers to worry about.

Beautiful place to visit and enjoy and amazing view

Nicolas Desjardins

It's being restored but hopefully they will not only restore the building but replace the faded info pannels. This fort seems to have been abandonned over the years. The only building left of the fort is still standing but the rest of the fort is only visible through the info pannels which are old. To get to the fort, you must cut through a golf club which makes it a little weird. You have to wait for golfers to finish their drives or their puts in order to follow etiquette. When you look across the lake you will see Fort Niagara which is on the US side and see once again that the US has just a little more pride when it comes to preserving historic landmarks. Its a good place to walk by if your in the area but I would not stop just for it.

Yadwinder Singh

Great historical place

Elsie Smith

Besieged by elderly angry white male golfers, this important hisorical landmark languishes on the lake. Brick-lined magazines imbedded in the berm make excellent spots for drunken youthful revelry and the occasional human sacrifice.

Kevin Morandi-Bonner

Great views of Fort Niagara and TO

Mario Villano

Amazing!!!

Damon Boyle

Darrell English

I can't wait for this project to move to its final stage. I hope the reconstruct the fort as it was rather than how it was hoped to be. Historical accuracy is more important than show.

josie trlep

awesome place neat views

Ben Jerue

Can't really get to the site since it's in the middle of the golf course. More importantly, the light house has been taken down!

Ian Gilham

Not much to see but a decent walk from the centre of town

Phil Chao

Located at the Mississauga Fort historical site, this is a must visit to check out the lake. Watch your step as there is a sharp drop off the cliff into the water. It gets very slippery here especially after it rains. Take lots of pictures as there is barely anyone here so you will have privacy. To get here you have to walk through the golf course, but stay on the path otherwise the golfers will complain. If you find yourself in Niagara-on-the-Lake, check this place out.

Cool sight. Amazing to see the history of Canada. Shame you can't go inside.

It's an awesome fort that the kids and i both loved. It's great that it's just there to explore. The kids loved running up and down the earthwork hills, and exploring the tunnel and bunkers. I loved it too! I understand why the fort is locked up, but I still wish I could have seen inside.

This is a hidden gem. On a sunny breezy day , during sunset it is a great place to be in. Great view with a touch of history

Kyle Stockill

Not much ro do here but it was a nice walk through the golf course along the water and had a couple nice look outs

Alex Dearham

Steven Lamothe

Not too much to see really during their renovations, construction workers occupied most of the attraction. The views are very nice, but you have to walk across a golf course to get there which was a little odd. However if you’re a history lover it’s a nice attraction!

Jamie Watson

Not much to see here but a small fort. Your can't really even go inside, you just view it from the outside. Still if your a history buff it might be worthwhile.

Shivani Shah

Walter Rivas

This a nice place to go sit, relax, sip a coffee and watch the the boats, the lake, Toronto skyline and the Niagara Fort in the American side. Go when is a sunny day. Bring a folding chair because there are no many benches to sit. Highly recomended.

It was nice to see a Fort built so long ago that is still standing today. Unfortunately the fort is not accessible to the public to enter. The fort is located in the middle of the oldest golf course in Canada which was opened in 1875. There is a path you can walk to access the fort

Paolo Daniele

Somia Khoso

Loved it

Bernard Lebeau

Will be amazing to visit when removation is done. I hope one day that the renovation brings the fort the way it was with main building that we can visit inside, with addition barrack buildings outside (we see their foot-prints in the ground) and wood pallisade on top of the bern and all around the berm (like we see on one of the image on the exibit).

A beautiful historical structure in an 8 hole golf course in Niagara on the Lake. The fort is pretty small and it's not possible to see the interior. A nice place for a short walk. There is an ongoing construction, so it may not be very convenient to visit.

Gary .gough

Historically landmark but under construction at the moment

Ceazar Torralba

Its ok wish they would turn it into a museum or sort not just an abandoned building

Highly recommend to wander through the golf course to this gem. In the distance, on a clear day, you can see the skyline of Toronto. It's a very nice side quest while you're in Niagara on the Lake.

Arthur wheatstone

Old fort with some historical value but, not really worth it. Can't go in and lots of rubish around the out skirts of the site on the banks and in the tunnels. I would not recommend bothering given all the other stuff in town. Only redeeming feature is the view of the lake but, you can get similar views from just down the road.

Blue Sapphire

A historical place. With a wonderful view. We went there before sunset, which was truly beautiful. The parking is in the street(paid). One of Must visit place in Niagara region .
