Awesome Tour and the Tourguide was so nice and informative.

Jane Morris

Great historical building and important to Canada's history. This little guy didn't mind me getting really close to him/her. It's a peaceful lovely old building. Perfect as a background for wedding pictures.

Scott Reece

Great place to learn our history and see some old barracks .

Phillip Rutledge

Butler's Barracks is part of the larger Fort George National Historic Site. During the summer months the site is alive with people dressed and reenactments of the period and time of the war of 1812. Each of the buildings are well documented and the players on site are knowledgeable of the history of the fort. There is ample parking for vehicles and the price of admission quite reasonable. It is worthwhile to check out the entire fort.

Jason Clements

Great location for local events. Attended the antique and vintage show this past weekend and there's a great car show every year. The field behind is also great for off leash dog walking.

William Sandham

Quiet and well maintained. Worth a visit for those with an interest in the matter

Steve Mayes

The Original Butlers Barracks were constructed in 1778 down by the Niagara Rivers West side. Once Ft George was completed, the Barracks were taken down. The new Butlers Barracks were not built, till 1818. The numerous buildings on site, where once surrounded by a Wooden Palisade. This site has been in use for our Military, right up to the 1960's. Lt Col. John Butler, commanded the Butler Rangers during the American Revolutionary War. (1775-1783) He did use the Original Barracks as his winter Quarters then. The present site was named in his Honour. Definitely worth a look, if you're down in the Niagara-on-the-Lake area. ????????

One of the best trails. Great for walks, runs, biking and rollerblading. Lots of history in the trails and the grounds. Also used as a concert venue and polo matches. The scenery is breathtaking. The extra breeze by the lake is refreshing. The trail includes a sneak peak at the Shaw Festival, Fort George, the parkway, Two Sisters Winery.

Chris Lagesten

One of the many great places you can experience the history of Niagara On The Lake!

Betty Knight

Lots of history here. Visual maps are brilliant - allowing you to look through a glass plate to see the battlefield super imposed on the current land. Lease free dog area ther as well. Stunning walk through Paradise Grove - an old growth forest.

Pete

Nice place for a walk. If you have little children, or have a fear if dogs watch out for people using it as an off-leash dog park.

Dinah Wray

We may have been near Butler's Barracks, but we picnicked in a large field with edging trees. Very isolated and quiet yet close to a roadway.

Jacqueline Speck

Love this park, but I doc it a star because not enough garbage bins and no washrooms. Beautiful historic spot though, lots of pups.

A very nice place of history to visit

Christopher Ross (rossgiftscom)

This is one of my favourite Parks Canada sites to visit. The buildings are a well kept and the barracks are nice, but the fields and walk are always pleasant, especially on a fall morning. While you're there, be sure to find the 12 lbs rifled field gun from 1910, it's a wonderfully kept piece and seeing the evolution of cannon compared to the 25 lbs cannon it's beside is well worth it.

Gordon Ng

Excellent place to spend some quality time with the family while learning about some Canadian history.

Kevin Morandi-Bonner
