-lovely place for a walk -sunset and Sunrises here are breathtaking -lots of spots to play sports -playgrounds for kids -perfect for a romantic date
Was awesome time i like to go at night
Nice place, but some of the lights need maintenance as it was pretty dark at night
Watch sea lions, walk your dog, take some lovely photos. A lovely day out gem in new west
When the weather is good, this place is lovely to take a stroll around. You have the pier on one side with the majestic mountains in the backdrop, greenery on the other, and people enjoying their time! Whether you want the kids to play and run around, want to take your dog for a walk, sit on the benches and enjoy the view or go for a jog, this place will not disappoint! Lots of restaurants and food places around as well and super easy and convenient to get to via the skytrain!
Beautiful place...plenty of parking...great for kids....
Super use of reclaimed space. Old pier area preserved in a comfortable urban park serting with good cleanliness maintenance and great views
Beautiful hangout space So sad that it caught fire last week Come and bring your volleyball with you
Great after dinner walks can be had here. All ages are out enjoying nature and social company, nice vibe.
Wonderful place for a stroll on a sunny day. Enjoy the hammocks facing the river or have a picnic on the grass.
Park created with good intentions...a few regular teenagers in the evening are not respectful of the park or people in it.
Great boardwalk along the river. City of New Westminster had done and awesome job of the greenspace and flowers.
Fresh air, great view. A nice place to walk, run or jog.
Our hometown favourite - postcard views of the river and downtown. This is a great Canadian park.
Great place to go with kids.. lots to do with the parks to play in as well as areas to ride bikes and scooters. Lots of space to run and play, great for getting some fresh air and going for a walk. Keep in mind that it can get cold down by the water, so dress warm..!
It's a pretty great place to play volleyball and to have a date or walk in the pier. There's a food you could buy in there while enjoying the breeze coming from the riverside.
Family friendly park
Nice riverside picture perfect scenery. Well maintained walkway and pet friendly. Lots of play areas for both kids and adults. There is also a spray park play area.
The neighborhood park of downtown new Westminster by the Fraser river side. It is spacious and wide for people to walk, jog, cycling, dog-walking on a regular basis. The new Westminster city newly developed the area and continues to upgrade for better living park environment.
Construction but other than that a nice small park along the river
Lovely place, great for han out with friends and keep social distancing
Cute little pier walk I would recommend to anyone who has never been and just enjoy the area. There’s a little water park for the kids to play in, some hammocks to lay in and a sandy volleyball court to destroy in. The view is amazing.
Beautiful!! Make out point!!♥️
Love this walk it's so beautiful and it's great when the concession stand is open .
One of my favorite walking spots, beautiful views all around, lots for kids to climb on as well .....:)
pretty cool for walks even during summer, great for couples
Beautiful area! The city has done a great job improving the area over the years and it's absolutely gorgeous now. The quayside walk and view of the water are absolutely delightful. There's close (paid) parking, public restrooms that are well maintained, food for sale (in the summer at "Eats at the Pier"), a small little park for children to play at, and beautiful strips of garden along the paths. There's also a small waterpark and a beach-like area with volleyball nets. The River Market is along the walk as well, and has more dining options, washrooms, and often holds events like craft fairs. For those who play Pokemon Go, there's always lots of Pokemon to catch and lots of Gyms along the Quay.
Peaceful place at Riverside
Great place to take a walk when it's sunny
It's pretty good and nice. Sound from street can be a bit loud and its definitely within town (you don't get that relaxing nature/forest feeling), but still it is nice, and a good place to rest and enjoy if you're in New Westminster.
Beautiful park. Kind of a bummer to walk through/past the giant ugly parking lot to get there, but it's worth it. Very clean, well kept. Lots to do, activity for all ages.
Beautiful park. Lovely place during the summer.
Nice park, great view, can't wait them to connect that to Sapperton (if that is even a thing)
it's always nice to get out and see the river from new westminister point of view , reminds me of the days when I ran on the logs for a living
Nice view of the bridge and the skytrain
New park and walkway along the Fraser River Waterfront. Caution: pay parking in downtown New Westminister.
The perfect spot for a family picnic, a stroll, or a vantage point for the many events that take place here over the summer. And in the winter, the holiday edition of Fridays on Front takes place under cover!
A nice place to sit and relax. Watch the boats sailing by. Has provision for playing volley ball and other activities. Fun shower to beat the heat. Seems the place also has live band on weekend evenings making the place lively and appealing.
Although the fire burnt down a huge chunk of the pier it is still a great place to chill and get some sun or go for a walk. The concession stand is great too if you want to get a quick bite to eat.
Nice place to bring kids! Public washrooms. Food area.
Good place to spend time with kids. Pretty long walk along the river with places to stop for kids to play and bicycle
Living in New West, it maybe a small city but it has a big heart ❤.
A fun family walk (the playgrounds make for good pit stops). Pop across the street for cool vintage stores to poke around in. Make sure you head there on foggy days, the bridge view is fantastic.
It's a nice place to go for a walk. You can play a few different kinds of ball sports, and a nice concession stand where you can get burgers fries and other things in the summer time.
Lots going on. Volleyball meet up groups, drum circle on a Wednesday, yoga And more
Very good for Jasirah
Some good views of the town.
It is beautiful and well developed pier. The food at Re-up BBQ was excellent.
Nice to see the Pier open again ! Great place for picnic or a walk
Love the walk along the river.
There is no shade space for parents and kids sometime want to play with sand but there is no sand..
Nice relaxing afternoon with my 5 year old playing in the sand and swinging in the hammock. Good times chatting with an old friend too.
Really beautiful place to come for a jog! Water is always by your side! Though the water is dirty and there are some who smoke cigarettes there. Bring your kids with caution. :)
Beautiful park and a lovely place for a walk on a sunny afternoon.
Very nice park, big telescope for sightseeing near my place downtown new west.
Very well maintained, lots of unique sitting areas, beach volleyball courts, and gorgeous views.
Great place along the Fraser River.
A nice place for a stroll
Very relaxing and has a long walk/trail. Even has shops to get foods if you are hungry ????
I love this little park because of the variety of river views and options for sitting. It has washroom facilities, a vending stand and some picnic tables. I’d love to be able to walk from this park straight to the quay. There is a massive construction going on right now developing two towers and an underlying waterfront level which will hopefully establish this connection.
incredible place to walk and talk on the shore of the lakeincredible place to walk and talk on the shore of the lake.
Place is beautiful, but sadly every time I go there the place is dirtier and dirtier. Shame on people for the garbage on the floor. Beer bottles rolling on the floor. City is not doing anything about it or cant keep up. People, please, lets collaborate.
Great place for a stroll and has a couple play areas for younger kids as well as a snack bar area, which looks to maybe only be open in the Summertime? Lots of local historical information along the walkway as well.
Great place for a quick stroll to kill time or simply to embrace the view. Maybe you see someone you know.. Perhaps meet someone new.
Nice place to enjoy the summer s afternoon.
Só beautiful and peaceful
The pier is always great. We didn't stay or play but instead had brunch at the Boathouse. A lovely morning!
New playground is a nice touch. Improved lighting too, just it needs better alignment.
A pretty little park that is great for spending time with friends. There are hammocks during the summer and tons of interesting things to look at.
Westminster Pier Park is a great place and the city is trying hard to make it a place were people would enjoy but still to make trash spread.
Not only can you play beach volleyball here, the concession has cheap ICE CREAM! It is run by the city so they are only looking to break even and not gouge you. Also, you can checkout sports equipment if you forgot your basketball or Soccer ball. Great playgrounds for kids too. Love this park.
Easily accessible by Columbia skytrain which is just one block across the street. Recently renovated with new green space and an adventure playground. Panoramic view of the Fraser River Bridge connecting to Surrey. Concession with small food choice, I suggest bringing your own food. Lots of picnic happening and a few bbq I saw. Nice place to get a sun bath. Bring a towel and some sunscreen. If you like this review please gives a thumbs up.
It's a nice litttle walk along the fraser river. We went in the evening and enjoyed ourselve
Very nice place
The ways to get the are a bit off - either a bridge or a construction site currently - but it's pretty.
Great place for a walk. So relaxing and enjoyable!
Went to this park and I was surprised at how beautiful this park is. Lots of green space and well kept park.
Fun play ground, nice walk, people seem smiley here, shops close by, pleasant
Nice place to sit and chat with friends especially at night with good view and great silence
Great place to sit an relax an have some ice cream from the concession stand
Good location, great views, delicious food. A good place to take the family, go for a jog, or take a reflective walk.
Nice place to go for a walk
I love this place ... calm , beautiful for family gathering and peaceful atmosphere
It's really unfortunate that the old section burned down. I hope it can be replaced soon.
Great park. very beautiful to walk along, has lots of places to sit and variety of activity places like playgroudns and vollyball courts
Very nice park. Great improvements have been made to make it functional and family friendly.
An awesome place to relax with a good view of Fraser River. Where you can lay down on the grass or on the hammock. There's also a water park for kids
Loved this place, nice walk beautiful place with nice view. Only think would ask city to enforce no smoking cigarettes and weed, if it's legal it doesn't mean should be smoked by the small kids!
Great view of the fraser river, grass is perfect for relaxing, benches/picnic tables/lounge chairs, and lots of amenities (playground, basketball court, food, washrooms). It's a very thoughtful space and very community-oriented.
A great place to grab a snack and relax, pleant of place to sit and stay a while.
Very nice place for a walk. Lots of seating along the pier as well.
Brand new after the fire at the pier. A very inclusive park but missing much of the climbing apparatus that you will find at most parks. Otherwise, it is safe for children and the view is incredible.
Nice spot to chill, run or walk... Restaurants close by, skytrain stop few minutes walk. Amazing view
A new favourite spot in New Westminster. Looking forward to the completion of construction when we can walk from Sapperton all the way to the Quay. Bravo, New West.
Great place to go for a walk or sit by the water
awesome place for a picnic. it is super accessible for my close friend who is living in one of the high rises close by.
Great place to go with family. Plenty of businesses to check out in New West DT, as well the park on the pier to enjoy. Grass field, parks, sports courts, washrooms, and a beautiful view.
Very Nice Place with River View except for heavy Marijuana Smokes ....but nothing yo can do on it as it is becoming a federal business ...what a wild country .. Hahahaha~
Great place to hang out. Perfect all people whether you're riding solo, with some friends or family. There's lots of benches to seat on, a playground for kids and volleyball courts. There's a wall of pictures that tells the history of New Westminster. The only downside is that right now the bathrooms are not accessible.
Enjoy my evening walks here every single day with my 13 month old. Really nice and refreshing place to spend evenings. A lot of youngsters play basketball in the side-court and it keeps the environment very lively. There is a cafe that offers a variety of options and people enjoy their waffle-cone icecream. The only thing I feel should be strictly implemented is that there should be no smoking allowed on the premises; no matter what is being smoked. Hence the 4 stars.
Lovely! So nice to take the kids for a walk and enjoy the fresh air, play patches, sites and landscape. It's a beautiful public space.
good place for a walk by the water and playground for children
Great little park. Relaxed attitude. Grass area to picnic. Snack area in warmer months with decent food and ice cream.
always a beautiful place. wish yhere were more hammocks though
Love going for a walk around the pier specially during pandemic
The new park is fantastic! It has a variety of features for many demographics! Kids? There’s a brand new playground with logs, swings, a super-slide, and an almost nautical aesthetic. Teens? The view and lighting is great for that perfect selfie. Or grab some snacks at the concession and chill on the bleachers. Dates? The Atmosphere is amazing and you can check out the Westminster youtube for a fun scavenger hunt. Cuddly close if the wind pics up. Mobility The park now has two entrances and an elevator so it is very accessible. Definitely worth a visit. Or ten.
Pier is one of the beautiful park in the town with little playground. They have great fun things specially for kids. A perfect parking space for everyone! I love this park!
Always manicured and GRE at place to be outside yet still be local in New West and if you aren't from the area the SkyTrain is not too far a walk away.
Parking across the street on the upper levels. Quite a walk for those with strollers and wheelchairs. Park has been updated and features a nice playground for toddlers and older children. Elevator access on the further east side.
Pleasant to chill over a cold crispy beer ( byob)then pick up some fries at concession stand.
Nice place for a walk. Paid parking. Weed smokers are increasing which could ruin the walk for u and ur family.
Neat little park and path along the Fraser River. Bit of a construction zone near the Quay, but still nice. Concession open spring and summer has coffee shop type food and drink. Great place to visit and go for a stroll or bring a book and watch the boats float by.
Love it here! Great family atmosphere and great place to hang with friends!
Good place to walk and enjoy the view
Great area to stroll by the board walk. There are benches and rest areas that you can take advantage of while you're here. Lots of grassy spots as well, perfect for lounging in the summer.
Nice place for a quick visit!
I built this bridge and park while working for Bosa Development, its amazing to watch people playing and enjoying the park, footbridge and views of the Fraser.
Had an unexpected pic nic from a Filipino group for free, very good food and great people too...
We love this park! New playground is awesome and they have a great concession with very good prices.
It's big, open and down by the river...what's not to like? It even has concession during the summer. I consider it perfect to either have a nice relaxing walk or just just chill.
A beautiful place to walk by the water. Family friendly with playground equipment as well as a place with hammocks to lounge and read a book. This park is also full of amazing dogs who just want to have a great time.
I go to market at the quay, Newwestminser. I buy “we love van” ground coffee medium roast package, I can buy it here this market. Somehow this is my fav coffee. This market is very unique, you can buy something which are you never find at other markets.
Nice place for family and friends ❤
The more newly renovated areas are quite nice. A big part is under construction right now so I'm excited to see what it looks like. I found it impossible to find a seat in the shade during the day minus one area where there were some sort sketchy people asking to see my phone (pass). The swivel chairs are a cool idea but I found them super uncomfortable, and I kept sliding on them.
Rather impressed with reasonably new park. Great areas for all & lots of potential for future events
Nice place to bring down your family to a sunny day enjoy Fraser River and Beach Vollyball
Lovely nice long walking park with 3-4 park areas for children along the way. Has toilets. Volleyball area. Benches.
A lot of greenery & trees!!! best place to spend your time in a lovely environment!!!
A nice park, but I bet it will be even nicer if the construction ever gets finished.
Summer is here and there is tons of fun and interesting things to see and do.
Hidden treasure of a park that is steps away from the Market and accessible from overhead walkways from the parking structure. In addition to playgrounds there is a nice pier walk along with seating areas. Small eatery in the middle of the park for snacks.
An excellent, well maintained and easily accessible park. On the lower level, you can grab ice cream or hot dogs from the food bar and the enter walk is cool, scenic and refreshing.
Great views looking north, and there's usually a concession stand open. Plus, 30 min free parking at the quay.
you definitely should come here once at least with some cold drinks. awesome for big groups of people and great for couples too. love the sunset there.
Beautiful park! I love what they have done with the place. There is even a little cafe/snack shop along the pier that allows you to borrow and play board games.
I've always walked towards the Quay after getting off at Columbia or New West stations. I had no idea this place even existed. It must be pretty new as it consists of modern street art, playground, man-made beach, volleyball court, live locks and other things to spot along the way. It makes for a great walk. On a side note, the black and white photos showing the city's history, especially the ones of children, are displayed upon an oddly designed stair case right on children's playground. Instead of adding a historic feel to the area, it adds a creepy feeling.
Kids loved the new park has a slide and kids play area as well as hamicks
Fav place for eve stroll
Really lovely little river side park with aw some views of the bridges. Makes for a pleasant stroll down by the river with a sometimes concession and the market at the end. Definitely one of my favourite places to realx in New West!
Lots of space for social distancing Fun for walking with a partner Interesting seating Nice view of the river
Beautiful view, peaceful place wd mind calming sound of water.... Gud to relieve stress if u r a nature luving person
Great place to walk the dog, there are beach volley ball courts and hammocks! If you look into the river you can sometimes see seals and otters
Beautiful View and Great place for a walk along the river.
Great for a quick walk or run! We were waiting for a table at Angelina's and appreciated the views.
Lovely place for dates and to bring your kids! Public bathroom is great for toddlers and momma's ????. And it is such a beautiful walk and the playground is great!
The park is right beside the river. There is a basketball court and some equipments for people do exercises. However, there is no free parking. And the park seems small.
Pleasant riverside park that's separate from traffic. Access is from the quay or the downtown parkade but the park is much more attractive and well kept than either adjoining parking lots would suggest. Lots of benches, playground, and volleyball spaces and a nice concession.
There's always something happening here and lots of different environments set ups. See saw chairs, children's play area, beach volleyball without the water, green space, hammocks! And a concession shop. The weekend I went JR FM had their family fun day by donation with lots of activities. If you didn't go there, you could still walk around the park and enjoy the sight of the SkyTrain bridge above you. The walking part between the quay and pier was under construction so it was hard to find the pedestrian path. Also there's no access to the water due to strong Fraser River currents. Otherwise a great way to spend time. :)
Beautiful and peaceful. Family friendly and good for having outdoor gathering with friends.
Peaceful & quiet- a place to relax
Awesome! Great place to hang out with your family during the summer
Beautiful and peaceful place to enjoy great sunny day's and enjoy with friends and family.
Pier Park is a great place to hang out in New Westminster on a hot sunny day. A great place to go for a walk and have a bite to eat. The price for food at the cantina is very reasonable. 10$ will feed you and a friend. Pay parking lot with massive parking structure. Walking North will lead to River Market. Check out the reviews for River Market to find out more. Such a beautiful area to go for a walk in New Westminster.
epic slide is the centerpiece for this amazing park. not for the toddlers as it is difficult to climb but for everyone else, including adults who ate young at heart.
Small and rowded. Over hyped, there are so many other beautiful places in Surrey n Burnaby
I run a photography/Video oriented company this pier has a lot of scenic locations
Absolutely amazing view my kids loved it here .
Odd location but great fun for the little ones. The gentle breeze off the water, great playground, and the passing trains & boats made my boy's day!
Great place to hangout on a nice day. I usually get take out from one of the many food joints near by and picnic style with firends.
I love this park. The renovations are great. Great for kids, there’s a food court as well.
Beautiful place to relax and unwind. Crowd might be noisy and not so great at times
Amazing spot. You can just lay there for hours and grab an ice cream at the little shop. Also close the the shopping centre, so that's good.
Any time of year this is my favorite place to go. Always a good view. Always clean and free of garbage. Very safe spot.
Pier just burned down. Looking forward to the best rebuild ever.
Nice area to have a leisurely walk and enjoy the beautiful Fraser River
Rainy but still nice
Nice clean park along the Fraser river, great place to relax or to take kids to play
A calming place to spend your evenings ????!
This is definitely a highlight spot in New Westminster. Recently rebuilt and renovated. You can make some nice pictures there
Very beautiful spot along the Fraser River, bordering the town of New Westminster. Great place to take the kids, have picnics, toss a frisbee
There may have been a fire here but the city of New Westminster and its people have made the Park still inviting and still a joy to come to even though half of it is gone due to the fire it is still a beautiful place to come to you on a sunny day. I encourage everybody bring the family.
Lovely to hang out and stroll around, perfect spot by the river!
So awesome especially right now with all the ice floating down the river
Usually really busy here. seems like thEE spot to party.. every time I go there it's busy with people drinking and smoking. but it's nice to walk along the boardwalk and enjoy the view of the ocean and whatnot.
Beautiful walk and my kids love the play structures. The water in the washrooms is very hot. Be careful when washing little ones' hands.
Terrible Bosa properties is building 2 48 to 50 story towers right beside the Quay. Noise is terrible, pounding pilings 6 days a week from 7am to 7pm. The fishing from shore has been ruined as have the views from the apartments that were overlooking the river before Bosa started construction.
Good place for a walk and for photos. Nice setting, calm environment. The new additions make it more fun for kids too.
The place is amazing! Beautiful view of the river!
Very tranquil place to visit with family and friends ????
This park is amazing, although stated 5-12 year olds but my 3.5 year old kids love it, the hammocks are awesome, parents and kids join in all the fun. If You worry about the playground for smaller kids, there is a smaller kids playground up the boardwalk towards the bridge.
Great spot too sit and take in the view. Beautiful.
Very nice park to take a walk all year long. Boats pass by and lots of birds also fully open space. W container.
Great for kids to play at and huge area big park
The board walk is really nice.
Great park space & well maintained by the city. I wish they would do something with that empty W parking lot.. Like make it an off leash dog area or expand the volleyball courts..
Love this modern, man made park by the water!! The grass is always green and pristine, the park is clean, there's volleyball courts and hammocks in the summer, perfect place for picnics! The views are amazing too.
Great family place, I look around and imagine the stevators unloading ships 60 to 100 years ago. Sad this now just history.
Very nice park to take a walk by the river and enjoy the view of the bridges across Fraser
Great place to walk along the Fraser River on the dock. A handful of little stores and resturants along the harbor. Great green space for relaxing.
Lots of construction going on but a good place to spend a few hits walking along the river and lots a spots to get a bite to eat nearby.
A lot of effort has been invested to create this open, riverside public access space. Walkways, playground , outdoor volleyball , and nice benches to overlook the Fraser river are but a few. Ride a bike, jog or walk the dog, there is space to be alone or a group activity. Buy some food at the Quay and then a walk East or west along the riverway. Mobility assisted friendly too.
Lovely walk place eat and kids can play safe environment.
What a beautiful place! Clean with a nice open feeling. Lots of dogs being walked and people jogging through. Great vibe overall.
Nice park parking not great
Great pier park for the young and families.
Nice scenic area for photos or just enjoying the view of the river.
Love this park and coming here since 2016 and my favorite park, good play area for kids too
everything is pretty new here, also have public washroom and foods
A nice place to visit at New West it has a nice view and several places to relax. By the park closer to the quay, there are several restaurants, I went to the Thai place and got their southern curry and rice. It was yummy, I really didn’t think much of the place but I ended up being convinced by the taste. We also got gelato from the gelato place but I wasn’t too pleased with the flavours
Fun, nice. Not easier accessible. And where is the washroom??? Not close... Can't go far with kids...
Great little park that they redesigned. It was a nice place to walk down with our bubble tea, sit on a bench and chat. It’s quite accessible with stairs and also a ramp. We saw something big in the Fraser river twice while we sat, maybe sturgeon?
The Pier Park is a very nice place to walk, to practice sports or just to chill. It has a beautiful view of the sunrise and the Fraser River. A lot of opportunities for photos!
Awesome place to chill. Some nice restaurants around too.
Great place for a walk and to enjoy the scenic beauty
I love this park. It's a nice walk in the summer I take my son to the water park there and he likes to pay in the sand because while i get a tan. The consession stand there has very good food and they even have board games people can borrow. My experience here was fantastic!
beautiful scenery while walking beside the river. Relaxing and a good stress reliever while enjoying the cool air breeze
Very small Park that makes the best of the little space it's built on. It offers views of the Fraser River, an area with sand, Beachvolleyball, a Waterpark, Hammocks and Deckchairs. Very nice for the people living in New Westminster, North Surrey and the Edmonds area of Burnaby. It is located right next to Columbia station, so it's very easy to Access using transit.
We are so sad that was happened ...????
A beautiful walk by the river. A fun little playground with sand pit for young age kids. A perfect biking place for young ones. Overall, well maintained newly renovated park. River market in the close by proximity makes it perfect for after walk snack or meal.
Expanded boardwalk towards the bridge makes for an even nicer and longer walk. Cute sandy area with volleyball nets and hammocks as well as grassy areas and another snack stand. Nice!
Super nice park check it out when you have a chance. Great place to walk or simply to seat and relax
Nice, family friendly park. Although the park seems a bit smaller and I miss the old park layout, it's still pretty good. There's a new play area that my kids absolutely love. I recommend it. The parking, however, is paid.
Loved this park when it used to have the beach volleyball area; love it now after the reconstruction post quay fire! NW has done a great job rebuilding in such a short time! The playground is amazing, the concession is awesome, the seating areas and shady spots are lovely thanks to all the plants around. The best place to go for a long walk in this city, IMHO!
Nice relaxing place to walk around
Peasant view of the Fraser river. Seating, walk ways, landscaped garden, plants, concession stand.
Will be better once the trees grow large enough to offer shade at the playground
Great place for photos. Ask Siri to tell you when the sunset sets. Great place to be.
Actually, pretty cool. Nice finish to the day. Grab a coffee at Old Crow, see what Army and Navy has, get a cigar at Pacific tobacco and finish at the pier. Great parking at parade right above. Looking at the river was nice. Basketball, sand volleyball, grassy area, weird container sculpture.
Great place to go for a walk or just hang out with with my pup and people watch.
Lovely walk in any weather. Somewhat challenging to navigate in the shoulder season with some roads and sidewalks closed for construction. Many shops and activities at the Quay, and lots of great view points, resting stops, and interpretive signs along the way.
really great place to enjoy a walk with your significant other and the dog
Nice place to hang out. But hard to get to. Have to go through parking lot if driving. Other than that it’s a great place in the city.
The park is pretty small and noise. It is located near the railroad and a road full of tracks. Nevertheless it is worth visiting if you are in New West
Walking trial is really nice, one side is the river and the other side is nice condos.
Very attractive, neat and nice place. May be it is cold at winter time. If you go to this place you have to wear properly to protect yourself from the cold air. At summer it is busy and crowded by different kind of peoples in different ages. Whenever you go here you will be satisfied by this attractive diversity colours. For your surprise if you go to the compound near to water, you will see different kind of locks on the wire of the compound.
Nice place to chill, alcohol is allowed.
Great playground for kids
The updates they made here are great! Concession stand, tanning/lounge chairs, open grass area, basketball court, beach volleyball, hammocks, water park.....all with a great view.
Very nice place to just lie down and soak up the sun along with the gentle warm breeze!
Nice outdoor park, could use some jazzing up at the far end.
Quiet place, lots of benches to sit and see the river. Kids' park. Great for reading and jogging.
A great place for summer concerts and events by the Fraser River
Great new area playground area for kids also great place to walk around with friends and family ????
Nice cozy park right by the Fraser River. Lots of parking. Only 4 mins walk from the Columbia SkyTrain station. They have small cafe/restaurant where you can get burgers, ice cream and etc which also open now. Clean place to bring a date and it's very kid friendly. If you have a stroller or a wheel chair there is a working elevator and a nice not so steep ramp to get you the park level. ????
Chill spot after a long day. Lots of space to lounge and hang. Excited for what they're going to do in the future.
Great place for a leisurely stroll or to watch the river. You can let the kids run free, ride bikes or play on the playground, the tug boat or under an umbrella at the mini beach. Then stop at the River Market for a bite, great Italian coffee or gelato.
Amazing park for family trip
Pier Park is a great little park. There are two different playgrounds for kids, lots of Nige places to sit and watch the river. There is plenty of shade in the summer and cover in the rain. In the summer, there is a great little concession with hot dogs, hamburgers, and ice cream, all very reasonably priced.
Great place to have a relax afternoon
Awesome place to spend the day!
It's nice place but need more attention in term of infrastructure and need more improvement but it's a good place for walk along the fraser river and but as I insist please keep it green and clean it's our responsibility to protect our nature be a responsible human being enjoy your walk
Great place to bring my toddler. Clear signage for one-way directions and social distancing guidelines on pathways, stairs and elevator. The bathrooms are next to the playground so it’s easy to wash hands before and after play. The playground structure is small and just right for kids under 5. It has a climbing wall, steps, steering wheel, benches, and twin slide. A small sandbox is also tucked into one corner. Elsewhere in the park are picnic grounds and benches, hammocks, volleyball sand court, and basketball court.
Love this park... but from the park to the quay is not a straight shot anymore..coz of the bridge construction.. its still nice and you get to see the shops on Front street. Went and saw the work boats doing their parade today..
Beautiful park for kids, we really enjoy it ????
Fantastic new park in New west. So many activities for all ages.
Still some construction on going. But the park is very nice and going to be nice place for jogging.
Great park. The concession is not bad and fairly priced. The mayor that envisioned this was on the ball and as definate asset to New Westminster.
Despite of hosting a giant art installation this park lacks proper lighting. It is kinda scary and feel unsafe at night.
Great park but to be honest a lot of homeless here. Most of which was drunk and slurring words by 9pm. I've been here before it is family friendly until about 7pm. Good views and fun before that
Beautiful waterfront park. Great place for a small walk, or a nice rest.
Since they don't update park info. I did. One quarter of park is missing due to construction on Bosa project. Also half of parking is gone too. Be aware that it can be difficult to get here unless you walk or cycle. Also note you cannot access the missing on Google Sapperton side of the park unless you drive , cycle or use transit.
Nice playground by the Fraser river update facility my LO loves it!
Beach volleyball, big rubber hammocks and a extremely simple water spraying pseudo park. Overall big disappointment. The grass area is kind of nice but the layout could really use a lot more thought. The hammocks are neat and a good addition but the water park is terrible and no one plays beach volleyball. Using that area for an outdoor gym would be much more popular.
There were a bunch of people playing basketball and they were loud and swearing and almost fighting. Lots of families around while this was going on. Saw a player use the washroom behind the glass elevator despite the actual washroom being just down the hill. Won't be returning, felt unsafe.
Awesome place with great views. Parking is paid
Love, Love, Love what they have done. Beach volleyball, basketball, nice parks and chairs affordable concession. Come visit!
Nice place to bring kids!
The river walkway and park is very nicely designed and maintained. Wonderful place to sit and read a book, have a picnic, or go for a walk or jog.
I can't believe it has taken me so long to get here. What an awesome park that is great for everyone to enjoy the Riverside, learn a bit about the New West minster history and see some cool sculptures. It's a great outing an any weather. It's cool hearing the distant city sounds combined with nature.
Nice place to walk around, especially in the evening when you can enjoy the sunset and the ambient lighting
Awesome park for the little ones and lots of fun activities!
Nice place on the Fraser River to chill out on a warm summer day
Awesome place. Serene, wonderful view, quiet, worth going.
Underrated and pleasant outdoor hangout spot, wish the original park was still around but the current grounds are quite enjoyable too
Usually quiet, great sand area and hammocks.
Good place for a quick walk and ice cream. Place has play ground, water park and other options for kids.
A favorite walking, meeting and hang out for New Westminster residents
Nice view and park, but we got there in the middle of a fight so It might not be the safest place of all
Great but it was a bit short. I heard that there are some other parks close by, but they are not connected!
Complete Mindfullness here!!
Great urban park. Great use of some formally unused waterfront. The park has a playground for kids , a small basketball court , full sand volleyball courts , concession , washrooms and tons of waterfront seating to relax on. Its wheelchair accessible. Parking is pay parking.Great views of the bridges , Fraser river, etc.
Its a good park to visit. Kids love the play ground and watching the trains. Where adult can enjoy walking or play volleyball during summer
Great place to watch a working river
Lovely experience lots of info in pictures set in the park lots of seating kids stuff too
fun park but the construction was very noise
There is so much potential, but the surrounding areas currently look a little abandoned.
Nice little park, odd location, but great for dogs.
Sometimes its real buzy but thats no ones fault and no one can fix it, no reason to give less than 5 stars, nice place to come by and enjoy some food or sun
Being on the water, it feels much cooler in hot temperatures. Does not seem to be patrolled by security or police though, and there was a group drunk and fighting near where we were.
A nice peaceful view of the river. Can sit or stroll. There is a shaded area for hot days.
A long, narrow strip of park with pleasant views of the Fraser River. There are a pair of small children's playgrounds and even elevator access. The parking lot at the entrance near New Westminster station is paid parking and tends to be lousy with potholes and uneven patches that become lakes in the rain.
Very nice but to busy. Kids loved it
Great walk and catch up
Beautiful stroll along the pier, good for a short walk. Multiple children's playgrounds, a concession stand, and two sand volleyball courts.
Lovely place. Just wish the construction finish soon so the views can even be better!
Great place for family time ????
Beautiful by day or night, great for a walk with the family or as a couple. Bring a jacket if it's a cold night though!
Beautiful weather and people weren't overcrowding.
Very busy, especially around the time where the sun sets. Consider going here for a picnic or to paint.
It was nice to cheak it out for the first time not busy during the day. Free parking below for 2 hours insted of paying to park at park aid. Be mindful though of the street people behind buisness and train tracks. We live in a world to co exist. Just be street smart especial when bringing kids around. Sad and disappointing but its a reality living in citys.
A nice place to spend some time
Fun park for the family. Not super huge but good.
Hard to access but once you're here there's plenty to do. Beach volleyball. Water features. Seawall. Etc.
I can't describe how beautiful this place is. It seems sketchy at night, but it's a low key romantic place
The park was very fun to visit! There was alot to see, alot of active people creating a great park environment and vibe. The stores on the waterfront were fun to look at and to visit. A great enjoyable walk and a good place to learn a little bit of the history of the city.
A hidden gem. Beautiful simple park that doesn't get too busy since it is hidden
Amazing food, friendly service in a cool little touristy area
Beautiful walk and outdoor sports areas. Too noisy right now (spring/summer 2019) due to construction.
Really lovely place to walk - hang out and see beautiful river sights
The Playground was redesign after 2020 fire and it's awesome and so much fun. You are allowed to drink alcohol so it could be use for nice picnic with some wine and/or beer. Basketball court, tables with benches, hammocks, deck chairs, clean washrooms and a concession store with food and ice cream. What else you can ask for?
Great place for a relaxed walk with your loved one, stroll with your kid or just chulling on your own
Great place to go to to relax and get some fresh air and look at the Fraser river and the pattullo bridge
Beautiful place to visit with friends and family. Lots of space to walk around the pier, kids activities. Affordable parking price. Amazing view to enjoy. Stay blessed ????
It was a lovely place to be prior to the reconstruction, but I'm hoping they remake it just as nicely when they put in the pedestrian bridge.
This is a great walk any day of the week any weather condition.
Its a nice place to go for walks
With BC reopening, you should visit Pier Park, enjoy the water and get that ice cream on spot!
Quiet with lots of facilities available. Concession, washroom, beach volleyball set up, hammocks, lounge seating, large grass patches.
Really nice park. Lots of cool seating areas. We were there for Canada day festival lots of vendors and music.
Park is good. Good view to fraser river. But atmosphere wasn't pleasant. You should pay for parking
Relax under the sky on a hammock. Feel the breeze and have an ice cream. You deserve it!
Excellent play area for kids
Besides current construction this is my go to spot for pictures in the theme I posted with this review
Good place with great view
Fantastic, clean, and easy to walk park for a quick stroll or walking with kids. Has multiple playgrounds, a nice market, and nice river view.
Nice play area for kids.
Wonderful place to walk around. Relaxing to watch the river. Tables + benches available, lots of stairs, but has an elevator.Play area for kids. Did not like the smell of cannabis.
Very nice so much improvement
The nicest view. The most easily accessible awesome place to hang out. The best you're going to get without going all the way down to Vancouver. Only missing a smoke room!
Nice place for kids to play and good view of fraser reiver
The high harmony between modern design and relaxing chairs .. I see that it is a very good place for sports and yoga practitioners. Meditation. Loving to take a tan for the skin .NB . Don't be alarmed by some building construction fences ... some security personnel may direct you to the right place
Great place for kids. Good for jogging and walking, very long pier.
Fraser river on one side and west minster downtown on other with beach, kids play area and lots of fun activities and place to relax
Little hard to get to because of construction but oh so worth it. The hammocks are really excellent!
Having 30m to 1h near New West or Columbia station? Have a short stroll, bath in the sunlight, breath the fresh air from the sea and watch the dogs play in the off leash area.
It was very scenic and interesting. Lots of river action close up so kinda beats the sea wall depending what you're looking for I guess.
I like how its isolated from bicycles and people. Not too many people come here. Hidden gem thats for sure. I can walk around stress free bc kids are trapped in this circle of pier park.
I love this park and it's a great addition to the area. I have 2 issues though; condition of the public toilets is going downhill fast and there is absolutely no shade (a few tarps strategically hung would work well on the existing poles). Also...for those looking...this park appeared in a search of "beaches near you" in Google. There IS a man made beach on the pier but make no mistake, there is no access to the water and the river is not safe to swim in.
Beautiful down at the docks. Great food at concession stand. Cheap and delicious. If you're lucky you might see a river otter swim past. The only downside? Awkwardly standing around waiting for a hammock to become available. Most people pretend they don't see you waiting and will shamelessly swing for hours. There should be a courtesy sign with a 30 min time limit when others are waiting. Also...it's kinda gross how couples make out openly in them middle of the day. Otherwise the docks are awesome!
Beautiful scenery and well kept park
Great place to come for a picnic and playtime. There is a concession stand on site further down the walkway if you need some snacks. Meant for locals living in the highrises who can walk there..all others need to pay for parking to have the pleasure to visit. Bonus...great place to view the trains as they pass by. Don't forget to wave to the locomotive engineer and maybe get a toot toot!
Best playground in New West! Although the play area is huge, the park itself is much smaller now since the fire, but still a nice place for a stroll or to sit and watch the world go by on the river.
Nice views but not clean , there is a smell from river.
Beautiful park on the water with tonnes of interactive spaces. Fun to explore.
Really nice park! Was there for an event with the city and royal city swing. My impressions we're that it was a nice, clean park with lots to do and comfortable places to just chill at.
Favorite park in New Westminster! Beautiful and senior, with lots of activities for kids and other interesting features to use or see!
An absolutely gorgeous park - my partner and I spent the afternoon here with a few friends and it's so nice out! I've lived here my whole life and it was my first time going to that park. You've got a gorgeous view, an amazing path along the Pier, nice grassy areas to have a picnic and there's public washrooms nearby (which is always a plus!)
Great views and plenty of wonderful eateries to choose from. Great shopping and a wonderful park for the kids!!
It was nice before the fire. 20 million plus spent, some homeless dude was able to burn it down, pretty poor protection and planning
Great place close to skytrain station to hangout with friends and family. Play sand volleyball with your friends or take a waterfront walk with your partner or just sit down and relax watching the Fraser river and the Skybridge.
Live around worked there do flat concrete it hella mint
Don't bother visiting. Rude park goers not respecting space. Put a leash on your kid or show them some manners
Small, tidy, clean, quaint, great place to just hang out and enjoy the ice cream. It's actually quite good. The shack also sells seasonal fruit and hot dogs.
It's a good place for a walk any time during the day. You can enjoy the sunshine, take a look of the bridge connect New Westminster to Surrey & the SkyTrain passing by too. Beautiful flowers of the season is good for taking pictures of this beautiful scenery. There's a playground for the kids too. It's good to show them the boats & skytrain pass by. Good view + good Lesson to know New Westminster & Surrey.
Nice place for walking, running or biking. Beautiful flowers during spring and summer
Lovely park great view of the water.
Something to see but I wouldn’t call it a Must-see
There's a lot of construction along the water front with the building of the 2 new 50ish story Bosa high rises but this park is still a great vantage point from which to watch the Fraser river activities such as tugs applying their trade or drift wood floating downstream, or even upstream at high tide, as well as the odd harbor seal and sea gulls moving about. There are lots of piers here that hang over the river as well as chairs and benches that allow you just sit watch things float by. Really, the walk along this stretch could be done in 20 minutes or less but the main aspect of the park is about just being there. There are washrooms near the concession stand, which are open nice long hours. The concession stand, I dont think I've seen it in business yet. There are volley ball courts and patches of grass and apparatuses for kids to climb on and historic local photo collages there as well to enjoy by all for free. Parking... is not free but reasonable. Most people park in the 3 tiered parking lot at the end of 4th street which is entered from either Columbia st or somewhere else, lol. Since really the only 2 ways to get here is by crossing over the train tracks on a causeway at end of 4th or by walking across the tracks at the end of 8th ave. The one at 8th is messed up with the previously mentioned construction activities but still do-able, but not my first choice. This walk is not like the Westminster quay board walk in the sense that there are no pubs and restaurants and shops. There is even an elevator that runs weird hours maybe 11am- 4pm (?) Which makes this a wheel chair accessible park from either entrance point. The park is open 24/7.
My favorite park for morning walk
Really like the renovation they did here. Makes the walk along downtown New Westminster more enjoyable when you can come here to relax a bit. Credit to the city for getting this one right.
Our favorite place to go for an after dinner walk by the river.
Pier Park is OK, I personally do not see this as a big tourist attraction. It's a grassy area with a concrete concourse around the water. I was there for an event that barely had any signage on Columbia Street directing people to the area. Sign consisted of a plastic sign @ 18" x 12", rather sad if you are trying to attract people to an event. Was there the day before, just a plain grassy area on a hill and the walkway. I have certainly been to more exciting places for the same amount of money - free. Nothing exciting except the long winding walkway past (yet another) construction site...I really expected more out of the City of New West, it's just a continuation of the Quay but hardly as nice not as inviting. As they say, 'Nothing to see here'.
Nice place to sit and eat lunch. The river rolling by is soothing.
Fun place to take a family. Some issues with public smoking of all varieties, but manageable
Wonderful new playground for the kids. The big slide is for 5yr+ which were perfect for my 5 & 7 yr old.
Great walk, watch out for bikers though. A friend of mine almost got bowled over twice in 30 minutes.
What a nice area. Great play areas for the kids. I usually walk, but I don't think there's a lot of parking. A couple sky train stations near by though.
Beautiful and a great location to enjoy my day. I love to sit and watch the boats go by and gaze at the mountains.
it's nic if want to spend onlg few minutes..
It's a very beautiful and safe place for everyone including pets. There is a lot of construction at this time though
Not so much to spend time
Nice park for walk with family..few good food outlets around.
Very nice place to walk by the sea and enjoy the view at sunset !
A great little park in the heart of New West. Definitely worth checking out. There's a concession (days in the summer season only) and washrooms (open roughly dawn to dusk) near the elevator at the end near Columbia Station.
the newly upgraded park..was very nice and safe..kiddos running around happily after a very long time..was a happy sight to see
This park has 2 playgrounds, gorgeous view on the bridges and mountains. Thare are many places to sit and enjoy the veiw on the river.
Great spot to come for a walk, always something going on the boardwalk or action on the river!
Amazing area, perfect for any event, the little market has amazing food. When family is town it's one of the first locations we go.
Great place to stroll...scooter...Rollerblade. ..walk the dog play with litte ones on slides n jungle gym. ..
Excellent park for an after-dinner stroll. New and river-front with an interesting kids playground on the west end.
Great park if you have little kids
Nice walk, gelato and other things. Good for an hour or two. Some construction currently.
Many different play structures for all ages
Nice place to walk. They have a new park that's suitable for 6 and under.
Park is nice, has some hammocks and a small grass space. Lots of seats overlooking the Fraser River.
Great views of the river and bridges on a nice day. Food is available in the summer and is good for the price it is.
The city closed off Front St for car traffic on holidays. Cycling along Front St (starting at Cumberland St) to this park (access from 6th St) is a cool experience.
Best place in the city to go for a bike ride or walk. Not a lot of room for frisbee though with limited space and quite a lot of people. Has a concession stand with long hours.
Front street traffic is a bit disturbing, but over all it's a beautiful place to chill all year round.
Beautiful and safe place
Nice park to spend time with nice location along the river. It's an great place to relax with newly concept. Good food and drinks are available here. I really like it!
One of my new favourites in the lower mainland. Beach volleyball courts, Basketball court, hammocks and umbrellas over sand and logs for tanning and relaxing. Playground for kids and a concession stand to boot (open for the season already). Two access points right now from the parking lot to the West and the pedestrian bridge to the East connecting it to Columbia street parkade. And since it's by the Fraser river there is always a breeze to keep you cool in the summers. The parking lot to the West is a bit of a mess cause of construction but when that is done it will probably be seamless.
Clean and it is nice to sit and walk along the fraser river.
Absolutely breath taking place to visit for any occasion
Great for a spring walk on a Sunday afternoon! With my wife that is.
Very small, good place for sun bath and play volleyball
This place is great. A nice walk along the river followed by a relaxing break on the hammocks
I wish I knew about this place earlier, loved the pier
Very nice view and relaxed enviroment to rest during the summer :)
Not crowded but fabulous. One downside is that it is located pretty far from downtown.
Very beautiful river side walk ❤️. Plus lush greens to relax and do small picnics. Good slides for kids.
There's a nice boardwalk by the river, have a nice park and market, pub, hotel. I just love to walk there.
Great walking and view..construction site also ...be aware
Great view.
I love this place. Great spot to go to unwind. It's usually quiet and patrons are friendly. Family feel to it. Concessions, beach volleyball, spray park, b-ball court, great grass to hang out in and the water view/ambience is so peaceful.
We tried to get fish and chips and no one in the quey has them on the menu and even though it was a beautiful day none of the outdoor tables and chairs were setup very disappointed it usto be such a nice place to spend an afternoon gone way down hill I don't know whay the city didn't build a cruise ship dock because Vancouver is already over capasity and everything is only minutes away on the skytrain
Great location to have ur relaxing time
A very nice walk on the. Quay and even an ice cream and coffee shop ????
Best park in town. The concession stand is fantastic. The prices are amazing. You are close to the water. There are hammocks! Yes. I said hammocks. Please note the concession stand will even loan you balls to play with and games!
Good for leisure walk right along Fraser River. Their is also a playground for children and several restaurants.
It's very aesthetically pleasing and a really cool place to hang out.
Chill spot to hang out with some friends .
I used to hang out here with friends all the time back in high school, it was the perfect place by the water! It's gone now. what a shame.....
Nice atmosphere. Loved the greenery and walking space.
Nice little park. Has a tall tower for the kids to climb. The slide looks really fun to go down. Lots of areas to sit and relax. Like the rubber ground. It's paid parking if you want to go play at the park (not bad $2.50). Washrooms are somewhat clean. Theres construction going on next to it so don't plan on walking across to the pier or parking there.
Great place to walk. Lots of stuff for kids to play on.
Really cute small park right on the water.
Right beside the Frazer river, beautiful view of SkyTrain and Patullo in the east and a distant glimpse of Queesborough bridge.
Very nice place and not too crowded
Great addition to NW waterfront!
A very good getaway. Veruy good park for families and mature couples. Good walking area around the river. Restaurants and hotels nearby.
Great family friendly park on the edge of the Frasier River.
A small pocket of green in downtown New Westminster. Lovely views of the river.
Awesome new park, kids had a blast.
Nice park with variety for the kids and enough room for kids of all ages to play.
Lovely area to take a walk by. Beautiful scenery and very relaxing, the playgrounds and nearby parks and foliage make for a wonderful experience when you go down to visit here. Highly recommend people spend some time here.
This is usually a good place to visit but now it is all screened off during construction
Our go to place for rewinding and relaxing.
Transit, wheelchair, stroller accessible.has a market in the area, a kids play area Good place to stroll with family or with your dogs, take pictures, exercise or just relax and watch the river. Definitely will come back!
Great place to walk and relax with family and friends. Plenty of different areas to explore and play in.
I moved to New West a few years ago specifically for this park. Its a shame that it burnt down, but the new upgrade is amazing! No matter how old you are I challenge you to try out the playground. Wish there were more swings and hammocks though.
Best place in the morning for a quiet sunbath with a nice view.
Very new and fun. Kids like it. There is no free parking though.
This place is a must for everyone, but even more so for couples. There are plenty of paid parking spaces, or you can jump on the sky train. The whole area is beautiful, and takes you away from all the rush experienced with other parts of Vancouver. There are many restaurants, coffeeshops, and breathtaking views that honestly you could spend the whole day there and still not get enough. There is also the world's tallest tin soldier protecting the pier, which makes both adults and children smile. A note for couples: bring a lovelock and place on the fence by the bridge to symbolise your love. One of the best and most romantic things to do in Vancouver.
The park is best when it's not on fire.
The changes made are exellent good place to take kids or just go for a nice walk and enjoy the river
A small version of English Bay . Very beautiful great for a heathy wak .
