My favorite place for stroll and jogging, good renovated playground for kids. Usually there is pretty quite and the river view is great, flowers are so diverse and well-groomed. However, there is so windy quite often. Recommend that place for sure!

A beautiful walk beside the Fraser River on a wood planked boardwalk. Unique plants and flowers are meticulously maintained and rotated throughout the seasons of the year. Pets, bikes and scooters have their own elevated brick path that runs along side. Plenty of benches and garbage cans. Dim, but well lit during the night.

Nice stroll along the Fraser River, especially early morning or at sunset. The breeze will give you life and take away some of your worries, if not all. There is Quayside Park for the kids and Westminster Park for kids and adults to enjoy. Plenty of spots to sit in a patio style chair/recliner while you enjoy the views.

I think this place represents the area well. Tons of eating options and an organic market, classes for youth? I didnt get into the details of it but the pier and park are beautiful. The main downside is that you cant get to the muddy shore since it is fenced off + they planted rose bushes to discourage people from going down. Didnt stop me though, I dropped my dro pen and I had to retrieve it. Oh btw parking is always by payment. There are 30 minute quick parking spots but aside from those, maximum is 3 hours. With tax I paid a little less than 10 bucks. Oh and apparently in New West, you dont have to put your ticket on the dash. That surprised me a bit.

This is my most favourite walk and a place to enjoy the tranquility of a sunny morning. I meet the same people almost every day, greet them with a smile and say hi - that’s how I believe it should be. The city is doing an amazing job maintaining the flowers and blooming trees along the boardwalk. I really hope the walkway and park don’t become a subject of overcrowding after I post this review and my photos. But since New Westminster is not such a touristy and polular place, and there is no beach, I think we have a few years before it becomes what English Bay is in Vancouver.

Recently renovated park is very nice, swings & slides, a wooden boat, water & sand, ping pong tables too! The fit and feel are really good for the local. The big red floats are fun to.bounce on! Not as big as Westminster Pier Park but a nice destination at the West end of the Quay boardwalk.

Situated along the Fraser River with restaurants aside from the market itself that has smaller shops for specialty ice cream with 40+ flavours, snacks, Mexican food and vegetable store. Waterfront Esplanade and Park is my favourite place to take a stroll at day, at sunset, or at night. It has a beautiful scenic views along both sides of Fraser River. It also has elegantly designed residential buildings, fountains, and manmade lakes. It’s also a great spot to take nice-looking photos.

This place is definitely worth visiting for Vancouverites. Nice walk along the Fraser River on one side, beautiful flowers on other side, lots of birds (birds are more visible on weekdays). Good for strolling, for family walk or just contemplating.

Great walk along the Fraser River! Also, you have the chance to see two of the old paddlewheelers anchored there. Gassy Jack was one famous captain in the 19th century. One of the paddlewheelers is a museum where you can explore of piece of the New Westminster's history. The entrance is by donation. The other paddlewheeler takes you on a cruise/dining on the Fraser River. Check with them for schedule and fees.

Beautiful park along the waterfront with lots of flower beds and trees. Benches are located all along it's length. There is both the boardwalk as well as a paved trail along almost the entire length. Beautiful views of the Fraser River make this an excellent place for a walk.

This is a GREAT place for long walks. Beautiful during sunsets. It takes about an hour to get from one end to the other and back. It can be busy during certain times of day like around 7 or 8 PM during the summer. There is a concession stand and 2 small playground (far from each other). And there are 2 beach volleyball areas.

Great place to walk the dog. Parking is getting a little tight with all the development. You can get trapped there for quite a while waiting for the train to go by when you want to enter or leave. A beautiful place to wake up,enjoy a wander on the boardwalk with the pooch,a coffee or full meal at the market. The dog park at the southern most part of the boardwalk is fairly small, but with a couple benches and logs thrown in for good measure. As I have found with most off leash parks in the area the pea gravel is perfect for the quite typical liquid sunshine days. I rather enjoyed reading the industry info story boards along the rivers edge

Absolutely Splendid. 7am coffee and walk ,from beginning of the Quay to the furthest point on the west end. Weather was perfect,bit of a bitting wind & no rain. The folks that were walking their dogs. Or jogging,or strolling as my friend & I were, shared greetings as they went by. A very positive atmosphere was all around us. The gardens done by the city,& I suspect this may have been helped along by the locals who live along this enchanting Esplanade. The flowers , trees were beautiful. On your right gardens,on the left the mighty Fraser River. I highly recommend it to everyone.

Great little park on the banks of the Fraser River. It’s small, but effective. Get there when the tide is low and you can walk out onto the newly exposed beach and take a stroll along the water in rotter either direction, walking parallel to the Queensborough Perimeter River Walk. Quiet, serene, and the perfect place to get away from all the noise and just bask in the quietness while cooling off by sticking your feet into the river. There is a small water fountain in case your thirsty, there is a garbage for your dog or picnic waste, and tons of little hideaways on the rocky banks under the trees that guy can sit and meditate or watch the tugs go by. If you haven’t been, snd are in the area, it’s worth the time to go and explore for a few minutes. Where else do you have such easy access to the beach and the water on the Fraser (other than Brownsville).

A wonderful walk along the boardwalk at New Westminster Quay. There is a market and a great pub there as well as other interesting sights to see. Be sure to visit the Statue of Simon Fraser, located on the boardwalk, near the paddle-wheeler. Simon Fraser the great explorer who the Fraser River is named after as well as Simon Fraser University in Burnaby.

This area makes for a very picture-esq stroll along the Fraser River. Bonus if you enjoy the smell of Creosote! The City does a great job in keeping it clean and maintaining the numerous flower beds found along the way. However, as of this posting - Nov 23 2021 - Most of the boardwalk easy of the Quay is closed due to condo construction.

This market isn't as big as Lonsdale Quay, but it has charm. You grab an espresso, dessert take a stroll along the boardwalk. If you west for 20 min you see the low swing train bridge. You walk east from the market you will come across the foot bridge that will take you back over to front Street. There is a good food market which has lots to choose from.

Great place to stroll and people watch, with the best waterfront view in the GVRD. Can get crowded though, especially on nice evenings. Near the western end is a fantastic new playground for kids, and at the far western end an off-leash dog area. At the Quay itself are great pubs and restaurants; a fantastic place to have an ice cream and watch the river at work.

Quiet and beautiful waterfront. Not crowded usually and fun to take a long walk all the way to Pier park. Stop by and peek through the ‘Hi Spy Viewing Machines’ to get close up views of the Skybridge and the mountains behind. Good place to get beautiful portrait pictures too. I arrived here for the paddlewheeler boat tour a bit earlier than I was supposed to so hung here for a while.

Having lived near this park, I can attest that this is one of the most serene and beautiful strolls in the lower mainland. My wife and I walked New West's boardwalk on a nightly basis, and it was one of our favorite things to do. I highly recommend it, you'll have opportunities to see seals and herons among other diverse wild life. The Quay is also dotted with good eats, bars and restaurants as well as a few marketplaces and a night market.

Beach Volleyball courts and open sprinkler type fountain on far East side. Plenty of pay parking. Easy transit access to trains and busy bus loop.
