It's all about history and a beautiful heritage home. A very enthusiastic and knowledgeable tour guide greeted us at the door and told us everything we'd want to know in about 45 minutes. Then you donate money and sign the guestbook...Oh and a lovely lady plays the piano while you're there and she really knows how to play! If you're into heritage homes and history go visit Irving House.

I wish we could have seen inside. We drove all the way from Seattle Washington to visit... The door said they were open till 5, however they lock the door when their last tour takes place at 4:30... I guess saying our open till 5 and locking your doors a half hour early are 2 different things. We got there at 4:40... We didn't want a tour. We just wanted to poke our heads inside and take a peek... The 1 star is for the beautiful grounds outside.

A very old Colonial home, it has fourteen rooms. The staff are very knowledgeable, they take you on a tour of the house, and they dress in clothing from that era.

I had such a great time! The guide has worked there for twenty something years and was so knowledgeable and helpful! You could ask about any artifacts in the house and she would know the full history! So worth your time if your ever in new West. Go visit and learn about our Canadian history!

A hidden gem in the historic city of new westminster. Scottish and British inspired architecture as well as interiors. Even if you are not much of a history enthusiast, you'd like this place. They give you a guided tour of the house. The staff is friendly and they guide you through the house very nicely. Sculptures and artifacts from the Victorian period are all over the house. Overall a nice experience. (Don't forget to keep some change for donation by choice, also when you are done with the tour ask them to tell some exciting ghost stories and incidents.)

Very nice historical house with many furnishings and belongings of the original owners. Guided tours are available. The city offers seasonal community events here.

The people were extremely friendly and a wealth of knowledge. They even went so far as to look up answers to the questions I asked that they weren't sure of. I felt they deserved more than the recommended $2 but alas that was all I had brought in cash. One thing to note, they only wear period garb during the peak season.

Time stop in Victoria days, nice place to visit, remember to prepare some coin for donation. Suggest $2 for individual, $5 for family. Open hour is short, only 12:00 to 4:00 in winter.

Great place to check out a bit of New Westminster history. Entrance is by donation so bring $3 per person, That's just my suggestion. The tour takes about 30 min.
