Beside the lobster not much else..
So colorful ????⛵️????
Obviously a 5. It's a giant lobster for god sakes!
Great spot to take a picture!
Waaaaaay too busy with tourists. I remember going when I was a kid and no one would be there. Now it’s surrounded by tour busses and lineups. The boardwalk area beside it has potential to be a really nice spot but it’s way too limited right now. There wasn’t even anywhere to eat or get a snack.
Kitschy and fun - we loved it! Pros: - Easy to see - Free parking close by - Great photo op - even steps to climb up the front - Very relevant to the city - Free and fun Cons: - A bit of a wait for photos when tour buses unloaded, but not too bad in the off-season
It's giant lobster. What more is there to say?
Lobster looks pretty good compared to the artists other pieces in the are. Also a variety of souvenir shops. Great place to visit.
Nice attraction, little shops nearby, lots of tourists at times...
I’ve never felt so blessed in my life as I did visiting this majestic facsimile of our fine ocean critters
God place for upto had an hour. Click picture with/on giant lobster statue. There are washrooms on site. A few antique and art shops and stalls from local artists. Nearby there are famous restaurants where you buy or eat lobster.
This was a fun stop on our travels. Be careful though. The lobster gets snappy when hungry!
Nice little market
Nice place to have a picture
One can not go to Shediac and not visit the giant lobster. My husband and I first found it 15 yrs ago when we visited Shediac with our kids. 15 years later, my husband and I were driving through New Brunswick and made a point to stop in Shediac and of course see this famous lobster once again. Great opportunity for some fun pictures.
As giant lobsters go, this is the probably the best I've ever seen. It is the only giant lobster I've seen mind you.
Nice place, also there a historian that say funny stuff. Great place
Nice statue. Also, of note were all these cute lil colorful buildings ????????
It's massive... stairs to get right in his mouth or pincers. Good photo opportunities
Second visit, but vendors was kind of mediocre.
Cute spot! The lobster was creepy, yet cool ????
Is it a lobster? Yes! But is it giant? You bet! Five stars all the way. (Maybe avoid this place if giant lobsters are NOT your thing.)
Love the lobster, there was little shops to look in and buy from plus there is a information center here!
It’s a giant lobster...how could you not stop for a picture?! There are bathrooms and shops, a playground and lots of restaurants in the area.
Nice place to visit, right on the side of the road.
Nice tourist attraction. Fun.
Way better than I expected. It explain the process tu build it. It is really well made
It's rather unique, overall just a great place for photos
Nice gift shop, lobster is barricaded for no reason.
Roadside attractions must see!
Very nice little spot, I didn't know there would be a line for pictures, I thought we could just climb on it but people just get on take a picture then get off for the next people. Nice park and colorful huts for shopping and food.
We had a laugh. Cute little shop with beautiful souvenirs and you could rent paddle boats here.
This is always a fun spot to visit every time I go to Shediac, and I always enjoy going into the little shops right next to it. ???? The only thing to keep in mind is that this is a very popular spot to take pictures, so depending on the time you go, I can be really busy. ????
Always fun to take your picture with a big lobster!!
Very cool to see! Will be back
We enjoyed the view and learned something new to the history of the place.
It's an oversized lobster. The name delivers on the promise.
Cool place to visit but somewhat limited room to park.
Great stop in the way to Moncton or PEI. Souvenir store, restrooms, boutiques and the biggest lobster ever. Great selfie spot.
Biggest Lobster statue...enourmously created...Home of the inventor of crossword puzzle, Edward R. McDonald
Amazing point of interest for creating a lasting memory! It is indeed huge and it is described how they build it and it is possible to up the stairs.
It's a giant lobster great for taking pictures with. You can climb up and get right up close too. There are also some nice tourist shops and a little seafood take out restarting right there
The area is nice they have a few little shops and it is the worlds largest lobster so who couldn't love that.
Cool big lobster. Nice detail. Good photo climbing up on it. Right on the water
Love going here, my kids as younger children, and my grandchildren loved it!!! If you ever get to Shedia NB, go climb the big crab!!! Lol
While the lobster itself is quite cheesy and attached by tourists from all sides, the surround area is worth stoping for. It's a nice little park with a souvenir shop, visitors centre and very photogenic old sheds. Nice views and a huge parking lot.
great place to take picture. i prefer going in the evening..pictures looked sharper lots of mosquitoes though
Fun place to go to just to enjoy your time, the air is fresh, the wind is nice and there are plenty of restaurants and stuff to do near by. Would like to mention Lobster Deck as it was a great restaurant with great people.
This thing is Huge! Lots of little shops to visit for cool souvenirs. Can climb up n take photos with it. Super cool
Was a huge lobster, if In the Shediac area should definitely stop by and there a few Lobster stores around as well
What a great way to greet tourist! Probably the best statues I've ever encountered.
It is a giant lobster. There are stairs up to it so you can take great pictures with the lobster like I did. They have a write up about the lobster but it has been defaced so not super easy to read. It is a very beautiful area with a view of the water.
Pull over to take a pic with the town lobster, but stay to enjoy the warm breezes in the swings by the water. At low tide climb down and scour the sand looking for sea treasures and watching the birds do the same. Lots of activity around the water (paddle board rentals, gift shops, information centre), though all very relaxed. While we were there people were very respectfully lining up to have family pics taken with the lobster, one at a time. Very pleasant day.
A great landmark to see after traveling 17 hours to get there. What a beautiful week we spent in Shediac. Friendliest town I have ever been to.
Today, the crowds weren't too bad. I managed to take a photo of a family blessing their new child in the presence of the giant lobster.
They have a nice park there with a few boutiques. You can walk along the water's edge to take in the sea. Many people are there getting their picture with the lobster If asked, take someones pose with the lobster as that is the neighbourly thing to do
Really cool shops around and Beautiful park
So real looking I think it wanted to eat me !
One of a kind...biggest lobster statue in the world!?
Nice stop, 30 mins will cover it all
Very scenic spot
It's a giant lobster... Very realistic and you can climb up on it to take pictures, kids love it!
Shediac is a beautiful city!
If you're in the area, you have to stop! Can't go wrong with a giant novelty lobster pic. There are a few cute shops to check out, and clean restrooms.
It's a giant lobster what else can you say of expect lol
Giant Lobster is a concrete and reinforced steel statue by Canadian artist Winston Bronnum. A climb on the giant lobster and taking the accompanying picture is a must for a trip to Shediac! Glad we did.
The giant lobster is a nice attraction but the local shops' sales were not as friendly as I was expected. Overall, it was an okay experience
Good place to stop and check out lobster
Cute place, although construction made it hard to park and the lobster roll take-out place did not list any prices, so I was shocked to see the price of the lobster roll... we should have asked, so make sure to ask before they prepare it, just to be sure you are comfortable with the price ($18). I bought an entire lobster for that price. It was good anyway, but we fell in the tourist lobster trap. ;)
We visit here yearly with kids! Kids enjoy coming up. Great area for taking pictures.
You certainly know where you are and what’s in store when you come across the Giant Lobster of Shediac, NB. More than just a great place to take photos, there is an adjacent information center and plenty of seafood restaurants (in season). Sometime there are vendors at this location selling fresh seafood from their vehicles.
Great place to stop for a pic. The kids can run around and climb. Bathrooms on site and lots of clothes and souvenir shops. U can walk a few feet from the lobster and wade in the bay. Beautiful veiw of the ocean. I love this place.
Very nice spot ????????
Strongly recommend this spot, very impressive. There was a old car show when we visited there. Owners were so kind that we were invited to sit inside their cars for a photo. Thanks for the event organizers.
Typical tourist stop, you just gotta do it right? Great view around the lobster, some shops around it as well. Parking is a bit of a pain during busy season so be ready for that.
Got a pic with the Giant Lobster. Shediac is a party town filled with warm, friendly and fun loving people. Enjoyed the Witch Walk and 80s night. The City of Shediac welcomed our Scrabble Toyrney for 25th year in a row and the lobster dinner awesome. Thank you.
I visit the 'famous' lobster on every visit to NB. This October it turned partially pink for Breast Cancer awareness month which is something important to me so it made this visit extra special.
We stopped during a family trip around NB and on our way to Moncton. Only 20-30 minutes east of Moncton. One of NB's large object tourist traps, the lobster is a great photo op. Then explore the area with many colorful buildings for a rest stop, including bathrooms, ice cream shop, gift shop and paddleboat/kayak rentals. Explore the water behind the building and swing on the benches to take in the view. Then head down the street to experience the rest of the town. About 1 hour from the PEI bridge to the south.
Wow! That’s pretty cool place! ???? ❤️
A 15 minute drive from Moncton, the giant Lobster is just one of those novelty roadside attractions you have to see if you're in the area (Moncton New Brunswick). The smattering of tourist shops surrounding the Lobster are nothing special and can be found all over the maritimes. The city of Shediac is worth visiting and the people were fantastic. A special thanks to the staff at City Hall who reopened their office just to give my 7 year old son a free City pin. That is customer service and should be proud of.
Fun sculpture to get a photo at. Not much else to do but it still is cool, and parking is not a problem. Normally pretty quiet but sometimes can get noisy from kids running around.
Great for tourist or just some down time, unique gifts are available and a fair price
This is a cute little shopping area dedicated to lobsters and L' Acadiene
Thanks for letting me know, I'm going to ask for a plate to go now that I know where my Mom ate..lol gotta Love your Mom, my mother is the Best!! ,Merry Christmas
I loved this giant lobster! Nothing says a road trip like a must see giant lobster in the middle of town. Can’t come to the lobster capitol and not get a picture ! Was super fun to get creative
The word Giant doesnt do it justice. Its HUGE! As anyone that goes to Shediac, you need a picture with the giant lobster. In Oct 2017 the roads were heavily under construction. All the little store fronts next to the lobster were closed except one. The closes one i believe, but it is far over priced for everything. There are nice couple swings behind the lobster. Which was very relaxing in the warm autumn.
A different place to go. Everybody must to know it.
VERY BIG LOBSTER. Un-ironically the best attraction of the entire province. Kids today would call it "Based" and "Epic". Very sad to hear what Obama had to say about the Lobster.
Nice little park with a great view.
Largest lobster in the world!
Child friendly, dog friendly, family friendly
A great place for a pit stop. There are washrooms and a couple giftshops. As well there is a playground for the kids to blow off steam!
Nice place for taking pictures!
The one and only! Can’t be near here without stopping…. Smiles are free!
It's a giant lobster and it's great.
We stopped here on our way to PEI. This place is really great vibes. Same a St. John small colorful eye-catching gift shops. This is the world's largest lobster statue so one time stop is recommended to earn a memory.
Nice little town and a great beach. Also good sea food.
Kids having fun to climb up to the giant lobster sculpture.
Lots of fun, lots of kids, young and old!
Well you don't stay here for long but it's still a neat place to hang around for souvenir shopping and sightseeing. The giant lobster thing is a neat thing to show kids. Staffs there are nice and helpful too.
Neatest thing on my trip to the east coast ❣ nothing was open unfortunately. Not even the washrooms. But was still an amazingly beautiful place.
Very worth stopping and taking a picture, crazy how large and detailed it is. Makes for a funny picture.
Awesome
The 7-day Tour East Bus trip that I’m traveling on stopped here; we have 50 tourists in our group. The $222.50 attractions package includes access to the Whale Watching Boat Tour, Thousand Island Boat Tour, Hopewell Rocks, Maritime Museum, etc., of which this attraction is one of the experiences. Once called The World’s Largest Lobster, it lost its title to Australia so now it is called Giant Lobster. Still, a beautiful landmark for Shediac, NB!
Clever sculpture of the beloved crustacean by the local Lion's club to put Shediac on the map - it worked! Nice little park by the water to just chill out too once the novelty wears out. Get yourself some fried clams too for dessert after a lobster supper in Shediac.
We enjoy taking our son here. Its been 2 years in a row and we want to continue taking selfies until when my son dont want to go no more.
As advertised, it is a giant sculpture of a lobster! It even has a little staircase in the front to walk up next to the lobster for close up pictures, selfies, and silly poses. A fun little quirky stop if you're going through the area.
It is a giant lobster, nothing more and nothing less. It's free. Parking lots is under construction so a bit tricky to get in for now.
Should have more restaurants, nice place! Love it
It's a big 'ol lobster!!
Cool experience
Best place in shediac, there is also a few gift shops close by and it also has a good backdrop. If you're driving through or stopping in shediac, stopping at the giant lobster isn't a bad idea.
Giant lobster is big and stores are unique.
Great weather, nice people and local goods. A nice few days away.
Beautiful spot. Little stores are very neat.
It's a giant lobster, lol. Watch out with those steps, they are not the safest. But lobster is very nice and realistic
The elegant presence of the lobster brings froth joy in the eye of the beholder when i was there i saw a tear run down the face of a child, granted the kid dropped his ice cream on the sidewalk but he was still gazing at the lobsters faux presence. I have seen many reviews saying its fake but are the smiles of the children fake. after gazing apon his radiant stature as he lays on the rock he watches he waits and he listens. when walking back from my hotel late at night i saw one man bowing before him saying prayer as the lobster spoke in a commanding voice "BUTTER BRING ME BUTTER". then the man started to cry but he did not cry tears of sadness it was tears of butter the lobster then began to glow it was a soft pure glow then began to radiate like the sun that shines in the sky as he reached peak glow the man dissapeared and the lobster lay staring at me blank, lifeless, soul less. Then in another booming voice said "IT IS OK MY CHILD". I cried that day because i was burdened with the knowlage of the lobster and his plan to replace the oceans with butter so that every lobster may roam free but i did not cry tears of sadness they too were tears of butter this was my experiance with the lobster I either did see the lobster glow or i was high on maple syrup i think it was the syrup.
Nice place to stop and stretch your legs
Nice place to visit and see the giant lobster.
Just as advertised, a giant lobster sculpture. Kinda fun to take some pictures with the kids. There are a few quirky shops nearby. And some funny pirate statues to look at. Stop in here. Shediac is a beautiful place.
It photographed very well, wish it was real, because it would be really cool to be able to ride it. Definitely a place to stop and get a photo
I took my two daughters (12 &10) to the school to gain experience and knowledge with horses and farm life. From the moment we arrived, we were engaged. Tim, Courtney and the staff were friendly, informative, good natured, easy going, patient and fun loving. We quickly established a family environment where everyone was included, regardless of previous experience. The transformation I witnessed in riding abilities was almost astonishing. The staff build confidence in every rider and allow you to go at your own pace. My daughters thrived on the experience every day and will remember their time there for the rest of their lives. I highly recommend this school for anyone wanting to experience life on the farm and learn the beautiful art of natural horsemanship.
A great place to stretch your legs while taking in the attraction. You can climb up the provided stairs and have your photo taken with this giant sized lobster, butter not provided! LOL Souvenir shops offer lots of great memorabilia and clean washrooms on site.
Good photo opportunities for a family vacation!
Love it. Nice little shops arouns as well.
This little park is easily accessible as you come into Shediac. There are a few shops here, but the paddle board rental shop is certainly great fun for all ages. The big draw for this area is certainly the huge lobster statue. You can walk up stone steps in the front area to get your picture taken beside a fisherman statue and the lobster - definite tourist "must do".
Driving through and when we realised the giant lobster was only a 15 min detour we had to make the stop, glad we did!!
Great place to visit, big parking lot, washrooms and a few souvenir shops all right here.
Awesome!
Not much to see but the giant lobster. There is an information kiosk, they were very nice and informative. Also a few shops around where you can purchase some souvenirs.
Interesting Lobster statue. Very crowded.
The focal point at the visitors centre in Shediac NB
A great picture opportunity and shouldn't be missed. I find there is usually someone around that will take a picture of all of you here which is nice when your on vacation.
What's not to love about a statue of a giant lobster? We stop and take photos every time we visit Shediac.
Visited on our honeymoon, 26 years ago, for the first time. This was the second visit. Still just as awesome.????
Giant Lobster...best thing in Shediac besides the beach.
A very scenic area with a giant lobster for a great photo stop.
Great photo op..pretty cool
This giant lobster was massive! You can climb up and get pictures with him. Not many shops opened at this time of year (Sept 17) every thing closed by end of August.
Really a neat place to stop to get a photo. I wasn't impressed with the difficulty getting in to park due to the construction.
Neat! Small park, typical tourist area w a few venders.
This is a great photo spot. Very nice views. If you are there takes 5 mins to get out of the car and take pictures. Parking is not even a minute walk. There are some souvenirs shop and restaurants as well.
Tacky but it was fun. And the surroundings were super cute. Definitely make a stop if you're in the area if it's not too busy
I laughed. I cried. It was moving. Just kidding...but it was giant and it is surrounded by cute little shops and there's a tourist info booth and paddle boarding right there. Nice little stop
Giant symbol - 16ft wide x 35ft long x 16ft high - representing the main industry of Shediac; lobster fishing. It weighs 55 tonnes! Every tourist wants a picture taken beside it and some children & teens even climb onto it!!
Cute stop for pictures with trinket shopping and local crafts stands
It's an okay place to take pictures and buy souvenirs. The lobster sculpture is quite enormous and you can even climb on it to take a picture. However, beware of the large amount of tourists that come here and don't respect the waiting line...
Giant statue of a lobster in the heart of lobster-fishing country -- classic! Enjoyed my first-ever lobster roll at a local spot just across the bridge.
The lady at the hotel we stayed at recommended this little take out shack. And I'm so glad she did. I had a lobster roll platter and my grandson hotdog and fries. The lobster roll was amazing. Very fair price and it was just full of thick lobster meat. If we ever get this way again, it will definitely be on our bucket list of stops to make
Granddaughter loved it for it was her first time. She lives in Ontario
Nice place to visit and see the giant lobster in Shediac. Local gifts and souvenirs stores are available.
Loved it! Great place to shop for souvenirs and beautiful wooden swings to sit in! Clean bathrooms! Great roadside attraction!
Great souvenir place to go! Awesome lobster your kids can climb, I loved it!
Cool spot, must be the most photographed lobster in the world.
Very clean area, great playground and a few shops.
Fun to visit if you're in the area. I had to visit since I moved to NB recently and it's a giant lobster so of course I needed a picture of it. Good photo spot, free, easy to find, and everyone can enjoy it.
Love this Shediac attraction!
This is such a cute little spot. They have a general store, homemade ice cream, and lots of souvenir shops with pirate themed goodies.
The home of world's largest lobster, great!
Great place for family photos. Climb up and pose with the massive lobster sculpture. Quite a popular tourist spot with tour busses occasionally stopping by. There are a few small shops and a local tourist bureau where you can get maps and advice from local guides. Stop by the boardwalk just down the road for great lobster and an amazing view of the harbour
The giant lobster was gigantic. Such a fun place to take photos. It's located with the welcome centre with a few cute souvenir shops.
Obviously a little touristy but still must see if your fan of the little fella's!
This is exactly as advertised. This is a very large lobster sculpture, supposedly the largest of its kind in the world. Locals at the very least tolerant of stupid tourists such as myself clambering over and talking bad pictures on the lobster. Would recommend if you happen to be in Shediac.
Fun road side stop for big and small kids to take pictures. Beach near by for the whole family. On your way home stop and get fresh lobsters in town.
Fun little tourist place! Great little stop for some pictures and to just chill out.
We really didn't know what we will get from this stop but ended up with the funniest photos from the trip. Little stores have tons of goods. Ice cream and sherbet was good too.
Unexpectedly fun! There are a couple of cute little pop up shops and some souvenir stores as well as a place for a lobster roll... of course.
My kids loved climbing all over the lobster and posing for pictures on it. Nice area and several little shops around the area. It is made for tourists but it is a friendly place.
Stopped by when travelling out east. Great spot to get a quirky photo. There are some cute little shops behind the Lobster and behind that is a water front with swing benches.
It's got a nice activity zone, small ice cream shop, water activities, park for little children, camping grounds next door and walking access to everything on Sheduac main street. Has nice spots for a picnic and even restrooms.
This is fun. You can take picture in the front or the back of the lobster. You can climb up the lobster and photobomb others’ pictures. There are a lot of stores and there’s an ice cream place (first store). The price of the merchandise is generally higher than elsewhere. I guess we should support the locals. There’s a nice waterfront behind the stores. There are some swing chairs there for you to rest on. It’s very nice and relaxing sitting on the swing chairs looking at the water. We all like it.
Great big lobster monument famous in Shediac.
It really is a pretty spectacular roadside attraction.
Always a great place to re-visit and catch some views of the Giant ???? in Shediac. Quite Iconic and definitely a tourist attraction.
Nice place to stop and get some gifts. Take your picture with the giant.
Signature place to go. Nearby seafood restaurant is a bit pricey. Food is good.
It's a spectacle definitely worth a look, the actual location is probably more a 3 but the giant lobster is the reason you're there, so 4 it gets.
It sure is giant and lobster like.
Visited to gift shops. The people working were very friendly. They were also very aware of how many people where in the store for COVID.
I had a family fun moment here!! Chic little shops and clean facilities. Didn't go in the restaurant but it sure looked and smelled good!
