Very disappointed, the Quartier de spectacle is a cement plaza, where are the green spaces? Trees? Needs a lot of amelioration!

James Gunn

Great venue and great event with Festival Distrix. We enjoyed the entire day and will certainly come back for other events.

Lamons Zorro

Went to go see a Dream Theater show. The place has amazing accoustics, the volume was well adjusted and did not peak or reverb too much. The seatings are perfect for a show. I don't think there is anywhere in the place where the view is bad. There is also indoors parking available which you can book in advance. Will definitely go again.

Geoffry Govertsen

I came here completely unsure of how I wanted to spend my evening and the folks at the ticket booth were incredibly welcoming and kind. I wish I could remember the name of the dirty blonde guy that helped me decide what performance to see. Absolutely will return and bring my traveler friends here as often as possible. They lost power when I was seeing a show here and did not skip a beat. Wonderful.

Great place to relax and meet nice people downtown !

COCO BEADZ

What a great place to watch the "nuit d'Afrique festival 2019" and just to feel the arty vibes around the area. Place des arts is a vibrant place full of restaurant, bars and arts.

messa litle

You know that song by Patricia Clark..."when you're alone and life is making you lonely, you can always go... to place de arts!" I was here last summer and stumbled upon an African drum show by chance. Last Friday I had some time to kill and decided to sit down again at the steps - and witnessed another delightful live concert by "les Jeunes Virtuoses de Montréal". Free of charge to watch and they did such an awesome job. So yes, this place never disappoints!

Andree Thibault

Le Places Des Arts is a well kept beautiful venue. The staff are efficient and friendly, the seating is comfortable, art is beautiful!

Tarleen Dand

It's a good place to roam around. It is connected to many art galleries, gift shops, multi cuisine eateries, fast food corners. There is also an exhibition place where one can see a variety from car exhibition to art exhibition. The night life is also very colorful and one can commute to this place easily as it has it own T station.

maryam farokhmehr

Nice shows there. I went for festival de danse de carrière and it worth the ticket price . Every thing is nice and clean. Go there by metro otherwise you should pay 15$ parking which is very expensive. Parking was also polite and convenient. Security people also nice and respondinh and polite.

Lisbeth Carolina Segura (Diva)

Place des Arts is a major performing arts centre in Montreal, Quebec, Canada, and the largest cultural and artistic complex in Canada. They conect underground with the Metro Plas des Arts and The Complex Desjardin and others.

Every few weeks there is an outdoor event, while inside there are events all the time. An excellent break from the monotony of winter.

This is where you want to go when you dont know where to go. They host most of the interesting event around here. Sometime it is so big that you can find joy and crowded people in here. Place to eat, have fun, walking siting etc. A part of Montreal that you must check out.

Sébastien Fullum

Beautiful architecture and a layout to appreciate downtown Montreal... Core center to numerous festivals.

It's a neat, artistic area of town. The architecture was awesome, and the jazz festival was amazing! I also loved the images they projected on the buildings. Even if the museum hours are over the area is worth exploring.

Alex Voytenko

Nice place. Every weekends you will find there any interesting events. If you don't where to go in Montreal, you can go there.

yashwanth beeravelli

If ever you have some creative taste you should visit this place. Even if you aren't then you will change your taste after visiting this place. Trust me it's an open showcase of various artistic skills, artists, creative events and many more. There are dancing lights, dancing water, various events kindaa festivals, places to sit and have some pleasant air, place to have some time with your bf/gf/partner, place to have some social discussions, picture, shooting locations, restaurants and a lot. There is a hall where some big ceremonies (graduation ceremonies) will happen. A lot more.

I visited the theatre for convocation of Concordia and it is huge. It has 3 levels for the audience and well equipped seating arrangement. It was a very nice experience being there.

Brunchin Ottawa

Went to place des arts to watch the Nutcracker! It was a beautiful show and the venue was perfect for this event. Love that it's location is very central, not so easy to find parking on the road so I would recommend to just park underground.

prisci BK

Nice spot in the heart of the urban area of Montreal. Plenty of restos and festive atmosphere.

Solecitosays

This place in Montreal has a unique feeling. While walking, you can find everything: food, shows, acces to the metro, coffee and many more. I recommend it in Summer, but it has its charm in Winter too.

Jean-Olivier “Mr. Shady Shades” Gagnon

Really nice theater and audio/video setup. Saw Jurassic Park in concert and everything was spot on from the movie to the awesome live performance. Beautiful venue as well as convenient for public transportation so you don't have to park downtown. Recommended.

Prudhvi Lanka

It's a Fun place in montreal. Near old port

Danial Dehghan

One of best BBQ I have ever tried , their bread is made freshly and perfect taste of Chicken /meat kabab sandwiches. The service is great but they only accept Cash.

Amish Bhavsar

Great place for some winter fun. They have lights, see-saw, lots of buzz and some amazing restaurants around. Must visit when you are in Montreal

Natalia anime

I went for the Christmas market and was disappointed by how much it has changed over the years. There were no deer sculptures and the lights were scarce. I imagine covid plays a big role in the stands being so distanced from each other but it made it look so empty ????

Jenyfer Jerbi

Like to go to place-des-arts for shows and opera nights. The parvis place is also very animated few times a year with activities for every age. Like to walk by and let my self get inspire. They just opened the 21 swings.

Ulysses Almeida

I was here during 2017 Halloween weekend festivities. It was crazy. Zombie walk. Rock concerts. Lots of people. Safe. Good beer. What else should I've asked for?

Brittany Thomas

I was here during the Jazz festival. It was pretty cool but it was super packed with people so it was hard to get around. we didnt stay long because we had places we were trying to see but it looked like a lot of fun if you can handle huge crowds. Their jazz music was definately not jazz, I really liked it.

김라니

I was there all the winter season and there was always something to do, see or attend there. Outside and inside. Theater, concerts, Christmas events, etc. You name it. I know I'll be back soon so I can see it in summer season must be a different world.

Stephanie

Thank god for place des arts. Even during these pandemic times, going there still has this home coming feeling where you can share a safe and fun environment with friends, family, or even alone like i do. Art is the saviour of our souls. So do yourself a favor and go for a walk, have a hot chocolate and enjoy yourself.

Robin Verma

Lot of fun and lot of activities are here and very crowded n friendly environment , better way to enjoy there and lot of restaurants there ????????

Nathan Price

It's a very beautiful art and culture center with lots of events here.

itika sharma

Nice place but no lighting show only see-saw rides and outdoor lightings

Claire Lu

Cute little activity to do if you are bored at home. Not much to see, but adds a bit of color to the city. This is during 2021 Luminotherapie in the winter.

Rajib Kundu

Its very beautiful place in Montreal. Lot of things happening here. Music, drink, foods everything are available here. Very well connected with city and easy accessible place.

Steeven G (POPE)

the architectural decor with the harmony from building to building make the wow effect, then the urban tile if I can use this expression limit the area, we know when we got at the Places des Festivals it's obvious something really different is happening here. Yeahs so the tile make the place look solid able to carry on masses of people coming to see all summer Star after Star. Amusement everywhere. But for me it was the happiness of the other people around and the design of the site.

Lesley R

Place Des Arts is a gorgeous space for a walk, a chat, lunch, a coffee, anything that involves hanging out. There are festivals and lights and installations a few times throughout the year and even when nothing is happening, there's always something going on.

Andrey Chebotarev (AC)

The "Nutcracker" on Christmas Eve, Tchaikovsky Music Master Piece and Wonderful Choreography! 3 in One!

Rahul Singh (Jerry)

Lots of Events , the pictures are from Montreal En Lumiere and Just for Laughs festival - super fun ! Summer is a great time to be here . Lots of Theatre and bonus metro describing each of the metro stations and what are they named after. Very Clean interiors of the building and Complexe Desjardins has a lot of stores to buy and eat .

Mirina XO

While visiting Montreal we stumbled upon Place des Arts. It’s a very beautiful building so we ventured inside. There were many performances going on and we chose a Jazz/Ballet show. It was wonderful and a great end to our trip! I highly recommend going if you get the chance. There’s something for everyone!

Ali Meraji

A very beautiful modern architecture and interior design and a warm and cosy place to hang out in freezing cold winter of Montreal!

Jeremy

The building and the connecting metro is a really beautiful sight. In the metro area there’s along the corridor there’s picture that show the history of the people that the metros are names of.

Kevin Cheng

Large, open area where many annual events and festivals take place. Home of the Montreal Museum of Contemporary Art (MAC) and the Montreal Symphony (Maison Symphonique)

Varun

Nice place to hangout or to just take a walk and enjoy artist showcasing. Easy to commute.

Ernesto Otaqui

It cheap! And they have amazing portraits. The art there is very nice! And they give you student discount.

Shana Antoine

Reachill Franche

Awesome place! Multi culture place!????

Sabrina Paez-Parent

Gorgeous decor and large venue for shows. Organized and easy to get in and out of.

Jeffrey McDaniel

A wonderful, vibrant, pedestrian thoroughfare with plenty of shopping, dining options, and cultural attractions. The Museum of Contemporary Art is a must see. After dark the nighttime comes alive, setting Montreal ablaze with electronic color and moving images broadcast on highrises. The atmosphere is light and merry, featuring good clean fun. All ages, races, and various walks of life gather and play in the super fountain illuminated in gorgeous multicolor. Just beyond the fountain, teenagers energetically show off their dance skills like professionals. I can't wait for summer 2022 so that I can return!!

Mario Bittencourt

I was a bit skeptical on going for a place that for me traditionally hosts plays and watch a rock concert. I am glad that I was wrong and that it proved to be a nice experience. Going there by metro is a breeze so you do not have to worry a out parking your car or paying exorbitant fees. The bar is crowed as any concert is but manages to address all your drinking concerns :) Finally the staff is helpful directing you to your seat

Adventuress Ali

Montreal really knows how to do Christmas lights and festivities. As you enjoy the market walk over and listen to the big whale and give the kids a go on the light up seesaw. This area often seems to have something fun going on. Highly recommend, especially for kids, the walk a few blocks to the old Ogilvys Christmas display exhibit outside the museum. For More foodie and things to do recommendations follow @adventuressali on instagram, Facebook and YouTube.

Chetna Mohanty

Perfect place to hang out with your friends and loved ones. Especially in this pandemic, there are numerous activities that anyone can do in this place. A must visit to shake off your burdens ✌️

Anna J

Beautiful place to visit, especially when concerts are in place. We participated in Jazz Festival. And it was imply great!! Excellent organization! Clean and neat place and well behaved crowd! Will be back :-)

Bharat Shah

It is a huge, multi venue complex in Montreal. We were fortunate to visit the place on the last day of the international Jazz festival. Many stage shows were organized very well. Enjoyed varieties of music like Rock, Pop, African...and of course Jazz.

Jesus Araujo

Even when closed for COVID it looks stunning and has plenty of activities in the sorrounding areas.

Razan Feta

There is a lot of constructions but it's very nice place

Tony Lee

Beautiful facility. Great location in the city.

Barry Kravitz

The Place des Arts complex is in my opinion the crown jewel of the Montreal cultural and entertainment scene. My wife and I recently enjoyed at Salle Wilfred Pelletier the “Final Fantasy Distant Worlds” concert. The sight line, lighting and acoustics were absolutely phenomenal. Whether we are laughing at the jokes of a world class comedian at the Just for Laughs Comedy Festival or being enthralled by some wonderful music, the Place des Arts is truly an amazing Montreal institution.

babak tamaddon

The Place des Arts is a must see place in the Montreal downtown and very famous in Montreal since it holds a lot of festivals each year. The main theater hall is a huge one. There are also other halls with different capacities which suit any kinds of events.

Mohamed Saleh

This is a very vibrant part of Montreal. During the day you can find people playing a life size chess game. It is also a great place for people watching. There are restaurants and coffee shops near by for you to enjoy a quick bite. There is also free WiFi that you can connect to. I like this part of the city and the art museum is near by.

Ariel “Ariel” R

Montreal is full of life and festivals. This is one of our city's liveliest spots

Georges Younes

Art centers or complexes might feel like artificial creations to some, but Place des Arts in the center of Montreal is a location that is essential to the cultural environment of a city that prides itself for being the most art-oriented in Canada. Place des Arts brings together buildings that are dedicated to performance arts and others that house museums. Its open plazas are also a gathering point for Montrealers during the warmer months.

Shey Ergil

Fantastic venue. The upstairs outdoor stage area is excellent for small events, and has a fountain and pool. You can dance in the water! Or do your laundry...

Mark Krusemer

It's always an awesome experience taking in a show at the iconic Montreal landmark "Place des Arts". Highly recommend a walk around the exterior before entering.

Alexia Dvn

Came to see The Carole King Musical and it was a beauty. So happy to have seen it. La place des Arts is a very good theatre and very animated. I recommend to be on the Parterre to have a better view

Christian

They have great concerts and the architecture is interesting. The restaurants are overpriced for the quality of the food.

Alexander Gnatenko

great place. the most European in whole North America

Natalia Z

It lights up at night and what a site to see. People enjoying themselves. Watch the fountain light up and perform. A must during your nightly Montréal walk.

Nicole Cass

Do not book this airbnb at the east side of Place des Arts!!! You will definitely be harassed! Super dangerous region and why risking your life?

Sneha Jondhale

Many food places to visit..next to the St Catherine's street. Colourful and more interesting at night

Clifford Weins

Great place to see a show, this time the boys and I saw Star Wars in concert. A live orchestra playing soundtrack to Star Wars a new Hope. Great, 10 minutes standing ovation says everyone enjoyed it. Good sound freindly staff and parking available inside, book online days before to ensure a spot. We were on the floor this time 7 rows from front stage right. Reserve restaurant because on show night local places are packed.

Thomas

If you liked Times Square in New York, you'll LOVE place des arts in Montréal. There's a reason they call Montreal the metropolis of Canada. It's got everything: great food, nightlife, anything you could look for in a city. And the center of all that is Place des Arts.

rosalind laveman

Excellant seating plans in the theaters and the Montreal Symphony Orchestra is near. METRO. BOUTIQUES Festivales etc.......

Sebastien Potvin

This is really a very nice place in the city. Very accessible via subway, you'll discover a lot of places nearby worth discovering. I went to see concerts at the orchestre symphonique de Montréal and this is really one of the prettiest modern concert hall i've seen. The sound is amazing. I also liked a lot my experience on the seats behind the stage. These were opened at the last minute and cheaper, but it really gives a close feeling to the orchestra. You can also see the chef at work. Kent Nagano even waved me at the end, I guess it pays to properly dress and wear a bowtie ;) Anyway, have fun.

Djuma Palmer

I love the place, It's my favorite place in Montreal.

Mad Lucio

This is one of my favorite centralized entertainment locations that I have ever come across. The layout is great for parades, concerts and fairs of all sorts and there are conveniently located public transportation options, facilities, malls and restaurants all in very close proximity. The area also provides seasonal and holiday family friendly events all year long. My family and I have never been disappointed by this area at any point in the year!
