Tidal Bore Impossible to describe but awesome to see and appreciate. Can't really be described or even photographed, though of course I tried!! There was a fella there from a local museum describing the phenomenon, and also local history. MUST DO if you are in Funday area!!!

I had never heard of a Tidal Bore before this trip. This natural phenomenon occurs in several locations throughout the world. You can walk along the Boardwalk while waiting for the tidal bore to occur. While it was interesting, I didn’t like it as much as my civil engineer husband.

The tidal bore is really cool because it's the opposite flow of the way the water is supposed to flow and shows the changing tides. I've always loved it even as a kid and remember in recent years when they had some people come out to surf the bore. That was pretty awesome to see! The picture I'm including with my review is of a particularly beautiful day on the Riverview Waterfront where I had the pleasure of both making art and selling art at Art in Your Face 2018, and the picture shows the tidal bore in the background that I just had to capture because it was such a serene moment for me. For people into mindfulness.. this is the place to be and to experience.

Amazing view of an amazing force of nature. Very knowledgeable guide explain everything about the tidal bore, can be heard even from the high lookout. Parking is paid nearby, free after 6pm. Totally worth the visit.

We were lucky to catch the bore at a time when the moon is its closest to the Earth. The wave was really quite impressive! We managed to catch a short presentation by the folks at Resurgo to explain the phenomenon and that made the event all the more impactful. Even our kids were digging it, and you know that's saying something.

The tidal Bore is an occurrence that you have to see to believe it. The rising of the tide causes a wave to run up the river, and on some days you can see people surf on the wave. It may sound wild and it is. Once you have seen it you can't unsee it. Check this out while waiting for the tide to change at Hopewell Rocks Park. Timing is everything for these two sites. Go and see the information centre to match up with the timing.
