Really interesting site, great peek into the history of pottery in the region. I think the museum could still improve tagging and adding explanations, especially around the old and older factory areas, and clarifying the different types of kilns (maybe a brief section about the historic development of pottery?). Still, a great little experience.

Richard Hobson

A beautiful place to hold an event!

St Albans Farm

never got the chance to see it because it's not pet friendly pretty hard to see any historical sites when you have a dog and you're travelling

Jason Brett

This is a top notch example of Canada's living industrial history. If you are interested in how everyday items were manufactured a century ago, you will find the tour fascinating. The building has some lovely architecture and the displays and interesting and engaging. Our tour guide (get the guided tour if you can) was excellent, and the people in the ceramics workshop were happy to explain what they were doing and how it both related to... And differed from, the historical practices. I had not expected to visit Medalta, and didn't really think I would be so fascinated, but it turned out to be a delightful surprise and a highlight of my time in Medicine Hat!

Most expensive wedding venue in town. If bragging rights is what you want, this is your place, but they don't even include everything most venues do and charge if you leave a hair on the floor. VERY INCLUSIVE MUSEUM; TRULY ONE OF A KIND! It would be hard to find such a unique piece of history anywhere else, hence it's significance! Medals is definitely worth an hour of any travellers time.

We were there during the MH Stampede and were surprised that the attached art gallery was closed. However, this museum is very cool and we are glad we went. There's so much more they could be doing in terms of interpreters and the gift shop. The pottery in the gift shop is very expensive: $40 for a coffee mug! I realise they have to try and make their money during a short season but that's a bit steep. I wanted to buy some dishes - that's really why we went- but walked away empty handed.

Tony Grichnik

Excellent museum a bit off the beaten path. Worth a special trip, and very accessible for those with disabilities.

Quite an interesting museum in the historic old town centre area of Medicine Hat. My mother had pieces that were produced at that factory so it had a personal interest to me. I recognized duplicate pieces in Museum collection. Definitely it is worth the visit and price (Senior for me). The machinery in the back is a little hazardous by today's standards yet it was in use and production until the late 1960's. Definitely worth the visit

Nice history, but there were some confusing flow of traffic arrows. Not great parking

Valerie Robertson

I went to the second open weekend of the summer market. There were good and bad things to be said. The food trucks could use some tweaking on cooking for crowds. Not enough staff and the prices were a bit steep for a food truck offering. The market has some cool things; the lady from Saskatchewan with the bee soap is very professional, her products are nice smelling and good to the skin if you are delicate and her display at the market is very compelling. The pen guy was there and I get that its a very individualized thing making pens. Nice choices available. The actual Medalta itself has wonderful cups, bowls and books but their price line is a bit too far above what the average Joe can afford. 25.00 for a standard coffee cup is a bit much. Unique, yes, but a big over priced. Take 5.00 off and see the crowds swarm you folks. Its all about marketing. The musicians were good. I expected to see many more crafters and more produce for sale or things like quilts, honey, knitting, patches for sales, homemade shoes, etc... Needs to be expanded up a bit to make me want to come back. I suggest they offer local gift shops to have a space. Reduce the space price or start an artistic coop and get it going on. It has potential but right now its a bit lame.
