Great place to enjoy nature and walk along the river. Far enough from the city (across the river) that no drug addicts hang out there so it's a safe place to take children.

This is a beautiful nature walk!

Nice peaceful place with plenty of wildlife to see including birds, fish, geese and even baby turtles in the water. Only problem was even though dogs are prohibited and there is signage on all entrances, there were people walking dogs and quite a lot of excrement on the path near the golf course.

Nice bit of nature in the city! In spring and summer there are Yellow Warbers, Baltimore Orioles and many other birds, and in the winter one relatively often sees porcupines. Paths lead south to the Whoop Up drive and it is possible to loop back through Indian Battle park for a one hour plus loop walk.

Tamara Melnychuk

Beautiful place! Nice trails and great locations for family/wedding pictures

What a great place to have in your back yard. And it's free. Go for a hike. Visit the hundreds of painted turtles and enjoy the wildlife. Great getaway during these crazy times. Easy hikes and lots to see.

Amazing!

Small, very walkable park. Love the dock over the water to get closer to wildlife. This is the place to observe Lethbridge turtles (not a native species, I believe they are a pet store breed) sunning themselves in the summer.

(Translated) We really liked it in this place. Although this wetlands is stuck between the railroad and the highway, it is an oasis of calm. You can see turtles, big fish and geese. Maybe you can see more animals, but they weren't there when we visited. A stay of 60 minutes is enough and the batteries are recharged.

Steve Mathew

Lovely at all themes of the year! Lots of wilderness and wildlife to see (bald eagle and beaver today!). Don’t bring your dogs, as they are not permitted in the nature reserve, and bikes only on the paved/shale pathways to protect the area and wildlife.

Robert Kruk

Always a great place to get away!

Brett

This is a very fun place to go experience a bit of nature right within the city. The paths are well kept and easy for those that may not be the fittest. There are many animals and organisms that inhabit this wetland. On one hike we saw tons of turtles, a porcupine, many deer, fish, lots of deer, and tons of different types of birds. It is a very relaxing place and it is so big that it never seems busy. Well worth the time to go there and enjoy it.

Landon Van Rijn

Faune Dainard

I'm not sure how, but when we went today all the information signs we were able to see the same animals were right behind them so we got to read and see firsthand all the animals.... Except the snakes which we were very grateful for.

The Elizabeth Hall Wetlands is a convenient location to get away from the city above the river valley. There is a parking on the South side of Highway 3, near the Par 3 golf course. The park has a red shall path that circles an oxbow lake that was created when a berm was constructed along the East edge of the park. There is a paved portion of the path leading from the parking lot to the North end of the lake. There is a bird blind at the end of a short trail in the SE corner of the lake. As well, there is a floating dock on the NE edge of the lake, a short distance form the parking lot. A variety of birds and animals can be seen. Interpretive signs along the trail help with identification and trivia. The path around the lake is about 1.6 km (1 mile) around. For those who want to travel further, a trail continues South under the High Level bridge into Bull Trail Park. Note: There are no washrooms or facilities at this park. Since this is a nature reserve, no dogs or bikes are permitted.

I visited here for the first time rather late in the season. I was interested in natural subjects to photograph. There were not many birds or bugs. Milkweed grows here, which is unusual in Alberta. There were a couple of milkweed bugs. This looks like a nice place and I plan to come back in warmer months

Lori Lyons

Love spending time here. Well maintained trails. Wetlands with some wooded areas and the old man river running on one side, and a well groomed golf course on the other side. The scenic bridge near the end of the marshland still has trains that use it. This area is ideal for joggers & cyclists, or those who just want to relax & take in nature. Bring bug spray & be on the lookout for territorial birds, snakes & ticks. I am not aware of picnic areas or bathroom facilities there. Children do need supervision. We’ve sighted beavers, porcupines, turtles, water fowl, geese with goslings, northern flickers, swallows, song birds & more. There are bat houses, beaver dams, nesting islands, & a ramp to get a closer peak at some of the turtles & water bugs on sunny days. Elizabeth Hall wetlands is easy to access. It is beautiful down there, easy to forget that you’re in the middle of the in the city.

Excellent place to see turtles, porcupines, muskrats, snakes, and all kinds of birds. If only people would obey the signs and stop bringing their dogs and bikes. You can take them to every other place that isn't a nature reserve instead.

Was lot shopping in Southern Alberta grabbed some fast food sandwiches in Lethbridge. A royal pain in the ass to try and get near what I had hoped was a picnic or day use area near the high level bridge. Found this place on 3rd try. Not what we wanted, but walked the dog briefly, he thought it ead great and made a makeshift picnic under a shade tree in the parking lot on a large rock and a camp chair from the back of the vehicle. The area is gorgeous and very relaxing. Next visit we'll venture a bit further in and take some more pictured.

For a small nature park close to the city of Lethbridge, Elizabeth Hall Wetlands is a great urban outdoor adventure that doesn't take a long drive to get there. Lovely nature spot famous for its painted turtles. Pathways are well defined.

A beautiful wetlands park with great opportunity to see herons, turtles, muskrats, a variety of ducks and geese, blackbirds, and a host of indigenous wildlife commonly seen in the Alberta badlands. There is a lovely walking path and even a sighting blind.
