This Tourist Attraction belongs to the category of Museum.
We liked the view, even the show in the cinema was amazing a lot of information even for kids they enjoyed everything highly recommend
Oh my God this place is so beautiful! Despite the fact that I went to visit it in winter days with some parts close due to some construction. The place is colder than the city. It is also hard to walk in some areas. I recommend to go using the street in the lateral of the station not the one closer to the biosphere - because it will be easier to walk - also the view is superb.
Great learning experience on how important it is to take care of our environment. Recommended for everyone!
The place is an attraction in itself. Inside you'll find about 7 rooms with expositions on sustainability, global warming and science.
Great place to discover human's impact to the nature. It's intereactive and educational! I recommend!
Very useful informative and inspiring
I haven't been inside of this place. However, the outside looks absolutely beautiful! Especially during the night time.
A great learning experience.
Good to learn about various concepts. You can spend close to one or two hours here
Very well organized and full of interesting and useful information. I was impressed with the experience. Under utilized for sure. I would not hesitate to bring my kids again, in fact they asked me to bring them again. Worth the trip and cost. Pay for the whole day parking, it will take more than one hour to take it all in.
Visiting the bioshpere was a wonderful experience! Got there by the metro (not easy by wheelchair FYI) quickly from downtown Montréal. The areas of interest for me were many, but primarily I would recommend you to see the 360° interactive experience, it was provoking, the viewing platform, the cities exhibit, and the top floor exhibit. There is lots of information there, so plan to take your time there if you want the full experience.
The Biosphere is a steel structure that covers the environment museum. It looks good but as far as i know it doesnt really serve any purpose. The environment museum is really small and only have a few exhibits. The view at the observation deck is nice but the steel structure kinda obstruct the view. Also parking is not free and you have to pay abt 20 bucks for the museum. Overall, I believe the cost outweight the benefits you get from this attraction. If youre biking there or walk by it will be nice to take some picture along the way. However, if youre driving there just for this attraction. I believe you will find this place a bit lacking.
Very nice place. A must go. The saint Helene island is also awesome and worth a visit. There are spots where you can fish, soak your feet in the water and relax. You can also enjoy a great view of the city
Parking is too expensive 8$/h, otherwise it is a nice park.
Very nice museum of the weather! Learn and have a great moment with kids and alone ! Very nice view as well
Really great experience. Recommended.
Neat experience, especially shows in theatre with screen wrapping 360 degrees. Climate simulations were fun. Visited this as part of 3-day Passeport MTL.
Very good place for kids, many seminars and exhibits.
Great place to spend time with your loved one
Interesting museum with lots of good information on climatology and climate change blended with some local aspects. The biosphere itself is an intriguing construction and the park around there often features concerts or similar things.
It's great for school trips to learn about the climate change, but I likely would not go back.
Excellent facility. It does a great job explaining the impact of climate change on our planet and our interactions with nature in an informative and non preachy manner.
Very boring for me and my nephews, I would recommend for them to make it more interactive and engaging for both children and adults. The best part was going to the roof and looking at the beautiful Montreal skyline
I was really excited to visit the biosphere despite the bitter temperatures in March. The biosphere itself was definitely the highlight for me. The exhibit inside (English and French) could have been more interactive. I enjoyed the 360° presentation, but wished the focus was more on how nature informs innovation and less on nostalgic memories of nature.
It’s really interesting to go outside and view the city skyline through the bars of the biosphere. However, I felt the inside exhibits were lacking. There wasn’t really much to see in each room other than one large attraction/activity in the middle. I wasn’t engaged to learn more about the exhibits. I don’t think it was worth the price I paid.
A decent place to spend some time. I would suggest to go late in the evening and you'll get some beautiful night shots of the place
Some of the exhibits were a little lacking. There were 6-7 exhibits, where one was just 2 posters with a paragraph each explaining that a planet like Earth is a rare occurrence, wrt to environment, oxygen, life..... Not super enlightening :/
Good centre for learning about the environment and really interesting architecture. However, not ideal for kids younger than 8-10. There just isn't enough interactive exhibits - more reading based. The tour, overall, is also quite short. So value for $$$ is also average.
Currently there is construction going on from the Metro Station walking to the Biosphere. So the area is all fence up. The environment museum is worth a visit ($15 for adult per entrance). There are facilitators who are very friendly and explaining everything if you approach them. The exhibits seem very updated and a lot of interactive activities.
Didn't actually go inside but took pictures outside. It's such a cool view standing in front of it and looking at it.
I visited the site by night and the colorful lighting of the biosphere is spectacular
I haven't been to the biosphere since I was a kid, I went today and it's really nice! Lots of great permanent exhibitions - and what the website doesn't tell you is there are in fact multiple exhibits all permanent. I'd suggest going in the warmer months because you'd have access to the belvedere look out and one hall was under renovation until June 2020. Very well designed, hats off to the exhibit designer. Very cool immersive experience. Staff is nice. There is a cool 360 cinema room with various show times and there are some fun surprises if you watch. I'm knocking one star because a lot of the interactive items and touchscreens were not functioning well or at all.
This is definitely a nice place to view Montréal from up high.
People who don’t believe in climate change must visit this place. The views from the Belvedere are very nice.
I love the scientific environment of this place.
This is such an amazing place. Very educative and informative. We visited and spend here a couple of hours
Informative site shows different seasonal vegetation. A total eco friendly place
This is a very cool place. Being inside the sphere made for an interesting Pic! We missed the tour but we'll be back next time. This sphère has been around for a long time and it's become part of the Montréal skyline. I Always recommend seeing places like that.
An old structure that still attempts to have relevance but is hopelessly outdated with basic info placards handing on walls trying to convey rather dated information.
Nice place for kids... design the future in hall 2 is the best and that's it. Beautiful structure of the biosphere.
Free Saturday :)
Beautiful place, just try to see the schedules to go there, I was in holiday so I couldn’t enter, but anyway the place was a nice spot to walk and take some pictures
Cool ‘60’s Bucky Fuller building housing an environmental museum. Worth the trip.
Educational, focusing in renewable energy. Excellent staff
I found it like a good place to learn about atmosphere and environment change
Beautiful place. Great place for photos and to sit and enjoy the *environment* :-)
Cool to see.. you better like being outside and walking!... update 2019 they have done a very nice renovation to the main area... worth seeing. Metro to Jean Drapeau or ride your bike... you can access the Casino aswell.
Great place for kids to visualize knowledge and also great view of monterial
Cool building with a variety of different environmental exhibits. My favorites were the one on climate change and the one with explanations of the different methods of generating power. I also enjoyed the exhibit on the environment of Montreal. Only 4 stars because I was a little surprised by how quickly I was able to walk through the museum. Although it wasn't the highlight of my day (botanical gardens are #1), seeing the architecture up close was worth the trip.
Biosphere is not only architecturally beautiful but it's also a good place to learn! The first three floors are mostly indoors exhibitions. The fourth and the fifth floors are outdoor where you can enjoy the amazing architecture of the sphere and also the view of montreal. I came during canada day weekend so admission was free!
This place is such a uniquely innovate concept for a museum! The exhibits are informative, thought provoking and eye opening with plenty of activities to do. There are six levels with different types of exhibits on each level. Great price for an afternoon of exploration and learning. I only wish we had more time to explore, highly recommend!
Interesting, but not something wow. It is a good place to bring your kids, but not more then that.
Bring my two kid there they enjoy the movie and the view on top
What a génial museum!
Great outdoor elevated view from inside the sphere, as modern interractive displays on the past history of the structure; from it's original conception as the American pavilion for the universal exposition of 1967, by architect Buckminister Fuller, to today's vocation as the modern St Lawrence river ecosystem awareness Biosphere museum for the greater common good, as for all present and futur generations. My only missing star is for the fact that - although interresting, convivial and well maintained, has not enough actual physical souvenirs of the past half century of the area, rich in history, and relys more on interractive visual displays, but overall still worth the visit. To avoid on busy summer days, as the masses of visitors can sometimes be overwhelming, to fully appreciate the surrounding views in a relaxed atmosphere.
Pretty low on the Montreal museum tier list, not a lot to see.
A unique and fun experience for folks wishing to learn more about the environment, and for those who don't, it's at least a cool perspective to be inside a giant ball. Reasonable prices, and lots of material to look at.
Great experience for fhe whole family!
It's a nice park, but inside of the biosphere is not so special.
Nice place. No student discount. They have fun information about the science expo and on saving the environment. They have a really cool and creative movie about climate change as well. I had fun even though was a little pricey.
I came here in winter. Cnvered by snow. The Biosphere, Environment museum, offers green technologies, as well as 12 entertaining and informative interactive exhibitions and activities aimed at developing a better understanding of today’s and tomorrow’s major environmental issues. Home to the United States pavilion at the 1967 universal exposition, the Biosphere is an architectural masterpiece designed by the famous American architect, Richard Buckminster Fuller. Visitors can admire the breathtaking view of downtown Montreal and the St. Lawrence River. 2020 will mark the Biosphere 25th year of existence. Year after year, Fuller’s dome is dedicated to human creativity in the face of global environmental change.
The biosphère is a unique place in the heart of Parc Jean-drapeau which is a very beautiful place to walk on a sunny day. It's a good museum to learn and raise public awareness of our environment. What are the major environmental issues for now and in the future ? What are the impacts of our way of life for the water, air and biodiversity ? What are the differents solutions that the humanity should do to protect our planet ? A labotary is accessible and has some very well done scientific experiments. With a educational movie available in 360 degrees and a workshop provided by a very friendly staff. Ps : There is some construction zone in the parc at the moment. But it's mean that it will be better for the future ????
The Biosphere is an amazing place. If you are interested in the learning about the environment, climate change, renewable energies, self-sustaining cities, or anything eco-friendly related, the Biosphere would be a great place to visit.
Very nice place, pack some snack or picnic after visit, there plenty or picnic areas around to enjoy a nice family day
It is an amazing place. The place exhibits museums about Montreal Expo 1967 plans and history of the Biosphere, about climate change, and how Montreal plans to make it the best ecological city in the world. They have some temporary exhibits as well. The view can be enjoyed both during the days and nights. I suggest visiting both the times.
I liked it in 1967. Haven't visited it recently.
Great place to go to learn about changing conditions of the Earth's climate and how it's affected the culture and people of Montreal. It's particularly children friendly and although it is geared towards children, it's also appropriate for adults too. Parking is ample and easy to find, although it closes fairly early at 5pm. When people leave however, account for extra time as the exit road is fairly cramped.
Architectural beauty at its best, recommend to visit at night for the view. You can visit the museum daytime here
I love this place.it has so much beautiful plants, animals, and architecture! I vary much recommend this place for kids.
Great experience - beautifully designed and the staff are helpful. The museum part is limited but its reflective of the admission price
The theaters had amazing sound and the films were very interesting. Just a day there you can learn as much information as a whole school year. There are lots of interactive screen so kids can have fun and lots of games. And if you are hungry you can just go to the Cafe witch has lots of nice food.
Nice place for a walk/bike/skate. Wasn't crowded at all in November.
Always worth a trip, provided the weather is nice
It is beautiful! At night they light it purple! Absolutely mesmerizing.
A new museum The building itself is brand new and all the exhibition are very well Invested I usually love these kind of museums but for my taste wasn't very interesting. I should recommend to go up the lookout!
Lots of good information, interactive learning, fun displays. The flow of the exhibits were a little disjointed.
It was nice. The sphere itself dominated the view as a landmark. It is very much the centre piece of the park there. There is an admission fee of 15CAD and if you take your time you could be in there for about 2-3 hours. You get to learn about the green initiatives that Montreal is trying to promote. It would be quite educational for young children to learn about being green and the impact of human consumption on our earth.
Excellent place full of ecological exhibitions, perfect for kids. It is recommended to arrange at least 2 hour for better visiting experience.
Absolutely beautiful! My son and family enjoyed the entire experience.
A great place to visit. Entertaining, educational and a slice of Expo era Montréal.
Incredible building, great for kids. The overall experience within the museum could be improved.
Visited during Canada Day weekend which the admission was complimentary. Staff were all extremely friendly and helpful. Very kids friendly and wheelchair accessible. The exhibitions were fairly interesting. It definitely offers a great view …
This is such a gorgeous piece of architecture! If you are a tourist and just looking for picturesque view, I suggest seeing this place at night. The light casted on the sphere makes the structure so beautiful! Admission is high and there really isn't much to see inside - go only if you have spare budget and time, or environment is your interest.
Anyone familiar with the work and thinking of Buckminster Fuller NEEDS to pay this temple for his visionary ideals of sustainable co-existence through design a visit. SO MANY cool ideas expressed here, in cool engaging ways.
Interesting experience to actually see it up close, it is a little bit different than what I expected, more targeted towards younger kids for environmental education. It is quite awesome to see the future of Montreal city planning for the next decades to come. But, you don’t necessarily have to make it a point to come to this place if that time is limited. Seeing it from a far would’ve been sufficient for a short stay.
Once in, with map in hand I found the initial contact with staff very strict. Many rules, procedures and timelines explained and repeated. To some degree I felt frozen in my tracks. Once I cleared the 'initiation' I found the place to be cleverly designed, compact but rich with information and attractive displays. Go with some time and be ready to learn, it's not a theme park. And try not to let the science test at the beginning or the hand washing station in the washroom scare you.
Very educational and lots of fun, you can easily spend over an hour here.
Pretty cool.
Enchanting place! A must see!
Great arhitectural design. Nice educational exhibits. It requires time to be able to read and learn. I wished they had more hands on experience and make it more interactive.
Beautiful atmosphere, I went there during the night to take some shots. I fell in love with this place
This was a great place. Very interactive exhibits and unique 360 theater. Plan about 2 or 3 hours. Very easy to get to via the metro.
I haven't been inside, but it looks impressive from outside!
Lots of interactive sessions, top viewpoint is closed due to Covid
Amazing views, a very rare building and so much to learn about the environment. The exhibits are very interactive. Experiments ca even be performed. You can also work on a tan with the amount of sunlight passing through the dome.
It is a little bit expensive. Kids don't pay, but adults entrance is like $15 plus taxes and parking is like $8 for 1 hour and $14 for 2 hours. This is a place to spend at least two to four hours. Be prepared to watch some videos and do some tests. Next time will definitely go to the next door pool.
Couple of things to clarify up front, it's not expensive too go here, about $18 per adult when we went plus parking. Also the pictures of the Buckminster dome belong to the biosphere, the biodome is different and next to the Olympics stadium. Interesting exhibits, a couple of hours needed for the entire place. There's parking on site and if you have time, you can probably see more of the island too.
The elevator behaves unpredictably -- e.g. on my visit on 27 September, I pressed 'down' and when the elevator came I pressed the button for a lower floor, but the elevator took me upwards first. The game consoles in Planet MTL don't work properly either. I scanned my card and started playing, but then in the next few minutes, I was asked three more times to restart (see image for where I was directed to, repeatedly). The reset seemed to occur as other people were joining at other consoles -- must be a bug. Later I re-tried and it worked fine, so the bug presents an intermittent problem, evidently. Staff were friendly and helpful. Overall I enjoyed the visit.
An absolutely fascinating place for both adults and kids!
It's a worth seeing park while you in montreal. The Sphere is an interesting landmark in the park. There are many good trails for a walk as well as bikes with some scenic views. Parking is not an issue there as you find plenty of parking there.
The biosphere was absolutely fantastic. It is an educational place that still manages to be fun. The parking was a bit expensive and prevented us from staying longer since there was still more to do. But definitely worth the trip. I would absolutely go again. Highly recommend. Catch one of their shows if you can. The one we saw had a rainmaker and foam snow. Best show educational show I've ever sat through.
Fun science centre. Kids or adults. Level 1 was most exciting!
Neat museum in a really cool building.
Pretty disappointing. It seems they had this space and weren't sure really what to do with it. Good for school trips of young children
This is a fantastic museum but can be limited depending on the time of day you come. They had several fantastic exhibits about climatology, meteorology and the effects of the weather. There was a very interesting demonstration and informative exhibit about the floods in Calgary back in 2013. The Biosphere has a fantastic section on Expo 67. It was arguably one of the best put together world's fairs. It happened over 50 years ago yet the technologies and ideas that were displayed we're very much cutting edge and modern even by today's standards. I wish they would talk more about Buckminster Fuller and dive deeper into the history behind this unique geodesic dome. You had to really dig in through the museum to find any history of what is probably the most unusual architectural thing in all of Montreal. the history of the house and the dome was buried inside of a space exploration exhibit on the first floor. if you pick up the headphones and listen to all of the recordings it talks about the history of the museum, Buckminster Fuller and Expo 67. This place is definitely worth going to and spending a few hours!
We only saw this well known museum from the outside but hope to visit the inside one of these days. It is quite breathtaking.
It was the best place in Montreal that you should visit if you are living in OR visiting Montreal in any ways. If anyone does not visit this place near jean drepaue park or saint Halen island.
It was a pleasant experience, I think it would be very enjoyable for people with children because a lot of the exhibitions were created with children in mind. The staff were polite, friendly, and very helpful. I liked the exhibit about futuristic cities and Montreal in the future. Let’s hope that future-Montreal is more accessible for people with disabilities than present-Montreal! Oh, speaking of accessibility, this museum is accessible, with elevators and ramps, which I was happy to note.
Terrific museum. Very well conceived.
The experience was both entertaining and informative. The atmosphere was as if you were in a sci-fi movie set. You can learn and have fun at the same time. I definitely recommend the Biosphere Museum, particularly, for adolescents, kids, and students in general.
I love this place, its surroundings are so peaceful.
Although many people feel there are not much to see inside the biosphere, this is a great place to take pictures of the biosphere at night. The night photos of the sphere with different colors come out very beautiful. When we went there last week, the night sky in Montreal was bright with a full moon. A combination of a full moon with the colorful biosphere rendered an amazing photo. In additional to the biosphere onto opp, the view of the night sky line of Downtown Montreal from here is just as a spectacular a photo spot. I took a photo of the skyline with the full moon on the side. The picture was fantastic with full of colors. Getting to the biosphere is a bit difficult as it is located on a man made island. You can either take a ferry from the mainland or ride an Uber. We chose a latter. Getting Uber to come back to the mainland was easy as well. We only waited less than 10 minutes for an Uber to pick us up and another 15 minutes for us to get back to our hotel in downtown.
A nice place to learn about ecosystems. A great place for children, especially. Quite educational in nature with presentations, and labs and interactive stuff.
Awesome place to check out. You can get amazing photos here :)
This is a wonderful place. My kids enjoyed and learned a lot. So many things I ignore about indoor air contamination. Staff are incredibly kind and helpful. Great views! ❤️ ????????
Fun and informative! Probably best to come in the warmer months, but in the winter it is quiet and empty!
A lot of construction. And not a great place to get to it foot from downtown, but interesting. Better to visit when it's warmer. Well laid out. I'll try another visit in the summer. By metro.
Amazing views from up the Biosphere! And the museum itself if very nice and interesting, has very cool expositions presented!
Cool looking place, has nice views from the top. Personally wouldn’t say it’s the most exciting museum ever. Mostly just reading and a few interactive screens. But other then the kind of boring contents of the museum it’s a cool place just to check out. The surrounding area is very nice as well and definitely worth exploring.
A natural space of attraction which is unique gives a replica of ecosystem!! Admission at the place cost CAD 20 for adults and its worth visit for students to learn and understand environment studies !!
The view from the top platform alone is worth entrance. The day we went was beautiful outside and I could have easily stayed up there all day.
It was closed, I cant say I enjoyed what's inside, but it's a very cool sight from the outside, so worth checking out.
Very nice architecture. Must see
The grounds are nice and there is a nice view from the top floor, but there aren't many exhibits. OK for ages 10+.
Very educational and great. Views. Interactive. Perfect for the kids.
No regrets. Biosphere was amaze-ball!! Of all Montreal attractions, I can say this is in the top tier of a must-go. There were not many visitors yet at this time. Although it started to drizzle, I could take quite a number of beautiful shots of the massive biosphere structure. This environment museum is located on a large land on Saint Helen's Island. The exhibits tells a story not merely showing the facts, which is astonishing. I know we have climate problems affecting us in some ways but I ignored the facts in a micro perspectives, like how it affects certain types of crops and animals which has disrupted our eco-system. The dilemma has already began, altering our living condition. You should also walk towards the other side of the area where the view of St. Lawrence River is spectacular. The crystal baby blue water is pretty and majestic. There are lots of spots for photography and also this is a place if you need to be in a surreal environment with no traffic. Another go-to spot is to walk towards the cafe, there is a massive space to look out to the view of Montreal city and Mont Royal across the river. Gorg! I planned to stay there for an hour but ended up extending it to three. It was already four in the afternoon when I left the place.
Beautiful building amazing for photography was shocked at the sheer size of it . The size of the inside of the museum and sight didn’t really seem worth it plus other reviews saying so but it’s 100% worth visiting the outside
I don't feel we got our money's worth at $15 per person. There's not much to actually do, and the Expo 67 exhibit was mostly just a couple pictures tucked away in a closet. There's so much potential for this venue.
It's better to go the St Lawrence River, near the Museum than to visit it where you have not to pay 15$ of your hard earned money. But they have not used and developed the possibilities of such a magnificent river as a tourist attraction. Even one can't find a place to get in to the shore and 'touch the water ' that every tourist wish to do.
The place introduce a lot about sustainable developments, resourses and earth sciences, good place to go if you are interested. Meanwhile it's also really relaxing due to thw good environment. The price is fair, too.
Nice informational displays outside
Outstanding build. I liked the second show / movie. The effect are great addition / touch.
Museum focused on sustainable development and ecological living. Lots of interactive activities suitable for school age children. Don't miss the 360 movie experience.
Beautiful place loved to visit the nature .
Excellent place for learning about our environment and how to take care of. Great video 360 degrees in room 2.
Fantastic views and great info displays in front the entrance. Wasn't able to go inside as I arrived too late. Seems pretty cool inside.
This is such a beautiful architecture and I love sitting in there and look up the sky.
This place re-opened in August under management of the Montreal environment office after having been managed for years by the national government. Exhibits were redone and they are of the highest professional quality. For anyone interested in understanding environment and its the challenges globally and in the city of Montreal and the Quebec province this is fantastic. And the building itself and exhibit about the 1967 expo are also exquisitely done. The hanging Garden at the entrance is a good example of presenting something fascinating and beautiful and explaining the mechanics behind it at the same time. And this is a wonderful place for children to learn through tactile interactions. Very much worth the visit!
Not worth the price. Nothing much is present inside the 5 floors. The Structure of this building is awesome, location is good. Go to this place just to relax outside.
Site of the US Pavilion of the 67 Expo and now an environmental museum.
This place has excellent exhibits. Very informative and interactive. Great place to learn about our environment and our impacts on it
I liked it a lot. It has interactive activities and short movies, and the exhibits are well made. Also, it's inside a geodesic dome!
Cool architecture and a great exhibition. Make sure you checkout the hall 2 where it’s a 360 ring projection movie, that was pretty cool.
If you are interested in architecture and structures this will be the place to go. This place also has futuristic elements and positive vibes for future of our world. You can also walk a little to the bridge to see Saint Lawrence River and adjacent parks
A little cold today but great views and fun place to spend a morning or afternoon.
Beautiful even in winter!! Very cold but very nice
Had a few extra hours before heading out of the city and decided to stop in at the biosphere. Its placed in the middle of a beautiful park, the biosphere was an absolutely amazing way to top off my trip. Also, their "video" demonstration was really neat and can be seen in the photo with the fire projected on the center column.
The kids loved it and thought it was super cool. If we'd had more time we would have paid for admission to check out the museum. Something to do on our next visit.
A museum emphasizing environmental issues and ongoing solutions. Neat civil engineering game on the second floor made with a 3D miniature model of Montreal and light projection mapping.
Great experience, they should have a mini sphere for souvenirs... there's no a shop. But everything inside is amazing... conscious for the nature and our lifes.
This museum is perfect for a day trip and you can occupy yourselves heat for a long while. This museum focuses on the environment and how it is being badly impacted through our day to day activities. The biosphere has conveyed this in many ways. For example, through hour long speeches using interactive presentations as well as short films. The museum has an ecolab with short experiments you can involve yourself in and lookout point where you can look at the view from a high point. I would highly recommend going to this museum. It is very suitable and educational for children as well. The museum makes learning fun!!!
Awesome place to learn, dream and be inspired to take action for a hopeful future.
We didn't go inside but it's a very interesting construction. Definitely something you don't find everywhere.
Loved the place . I saw the lighting around 1a.m , it was amazing.
Nice spot Good for photoshoot.. The exhibition and the class provided was really helpful... Should visit
Great educational experience with extremely helpful and enthusiastic working staff. The +1°C exibition along with the Habitats 2067 and the Ecolab were some of my highlights at the biosphere.
Seeing the structure was probably worth the visit but we didn't see the value in paying for the entry ticket to go inside. I'm sure this sort of experience would be appealing to many people though. Note - we were there start of December (winter)
After going to the Biodome, I had high expectations for this place. Honestly, the exterior structure is the only thing I enjoyed about it. I would pay $5 to see what I saw.. I Paid $21, and after 10min I just wanted to leave. There's no restaurant working as well because of Covid restrictions. Disappointing!
A super interesting architectural facility. Many great exhibits about the environment. The nearby park and trails are also nice to experience.
Lots of constructions nearby this place, otherwise good to have a look. Not too excited for the teenager I have.
This place hits different at night.
Nice place to visit for kids to learn
Interesting place for everyone to understand how we can harness the power of natural energy.
This museum is a waste of money. If you’re an average informed person then you already know all the information presented here about climate change. There are interactive things for young kids so I would really only recommend for families.
Great exhibitions, lots of interesting information and new things to discover - about our planet, the city of Montreal, Biosphere itself and the people behind it. Loved the interactive ways of learning and exploring. Will be definitely coming back in summer, when the outdoor terrace with the view and garden are open.
Really like the 360 movie, it's fascinating
A must visit museum for all ages. Very beautiful decors. I love the 360 video presentation and the fifth floor outdoor visit where you have an amazing high view of the surrounding. Don't forget to take some pictures with your loves one. The last missing star was due to the lack of personnels: 1) To inform visitors and answer to their questions in each room. 2) No one was there to clean headphones and touch screens. At least provide clorox wet cleaning tissues so we can self served. 3) There was a problem with the ventilation: we were suffocating inside each room, especially the 360 video presentation room.
Great information about climate change and human impacts.
Ok wow. Was not sure what to expect from this place. I saw it and had to go and dam it did not disappoint. I'm sure it won't be for everyone but I found this place to be fantast. Super interesting and well presented rooms that take you through a number of different subjects. The video presentation was superb in the 360 4Dish experience. There is a hands on room that is just as fun for the adults as it would be for older kids. I'm not sure young ones will enjoy it as much. Go to the top floor and enjoy some cool views, even have an outdoor area to enjoy the open space.
We had a great time visiting. Interactive and educational museum where me and my 6 years old spent nearly 4 hours. The top floor viewing area is a must see (altho a lot of construction going around). The structure itself is simply beautiful. A great discovery: admission free for 17 and under. Don't drive, take the metro. It's only 3 minutes walk from metro Jean Drapeau.
Although the Biosphère is not that interesting, the area surrounding it is nice. Places to have a picnic on the grass. Accessible by both train and public bus. Parking onsite for 20 dollars for the whole day.
Interesting structure....wish it was open to the public.
Great museum! Lots of interesting things to do. I really liked the exhibit on one of the top floors about the next generation of community loving, so insightful. Also the dome is a wonder to look at. I highly recommend spending atleast 2 hours exploring.
Closed (December end). You can just walk around there. We found a fox on the road.
Very nice place. A lot to learn about environment: air and water pollution, weather condition and indoor plants. It was science day so admission was free. From the last floor of the biosphere you get an amazing view of Montréal. Around the biosphere you can walk and see amazing spots. Interesting and well organized.
Fantastic place that's perfect for both kids and adults! Lots of new animals everywhere you look. I would definitely recommend getting a package deal with the biosphere and observatory.
Way too much reading, not enough to actually see. The 360 movie was.the best part of the museum. Checking out the building/structure itself and the view from the top (inside) was the main highlight.
Unfortunately the outdoor part was closed but the things that were available were quite nice. I liked the interactive games at the top! The place was well laid out as well.
BEST place on earth. Informative, interactive and breathtaking!
Very nice structure from the outside and is really nice environment to visit with your kids. The structure is surrounded by huge park which is very well maintained and soothing to your eyes
