Good little escape room
A great adventure with great staff, the game is hard enough to be fun but not make you feel completely stupid.
Amazing Experience. They have done such a great job at adapting to virtual and were able to accommodate 21 of us for a team event. Our moderator made it really fun for us and we would definitely do it again.
Second time here, always fun!!
First escape room I've ever done, had a great time!
I've had a great experience every time we've done a room with Sherlock Escapes.
It was fun but its pretty difficult so bring some smart friends
Such a great find while visiting Kingston. Awesome staff! Best escape room we've experienced. Shirts made great souvenirs. ???? We'll be back!
Really enjoyed the puzzle room. We were so close to getting it on time. Some very clever puzzles and one of my favourite extra features that I've come across in a puzzle room, I obviously won't tell you what it is but it really impressed me.
Had a great time doing The Doctor's Redemption. Puzzles were inventive amd were difficult (but not impossible to figure out). Looking forward to trying the rest of their rooms.
For those missing the in person escape room experience, this is an interesting variation of those with a guided host facilitating the clues and narration. It's definitely worthwhile and fairly affordable at under $15 per person.
We had a great time. First time for most of us. Totally recommend it.
Creative, fun, well thought out, and challenging. The adaptation to a virtual platform was super effective. I was able to play with a friend across the globe!
A fantastic escape room! The set design was amazing and the puzzles were great.
Organized a large booking for Sherlock's Escapes' virtual experience. Staff were super flexible and easy to work with, making it a very smooth organization process!
Interesting!
Great Experience
Pretty fun room. The Sherlock theme is a nice touch. Staff was friendly and helpful. Will probably go again.
This was my first escape room experience and I loved it! My 12 year old has done escape rooms before but he said he enjoyed Sherlock’s way more. Can’t wait to come back to Kingston and try the next mystery!
This is a great place in Kingston if you're looking for some escape room fun! They did a promotion event at Spearhead Brewery and it was awesome! We weren't sure what to expect considering it wouldn't be a permanent installation, but the ad hoc puzzle installations were innovative and clever! They incorporated a significant amount of objects from the brewery, and the immersion + theme were fun! They are very passionate about their craft and the staff pay an impressive amount of attention to your team during the event. Highly recommend! Their permanent location downtown is also a fun time, too!
The virtual experience was amazing! My family and I plan on finishing all the games offered!
Although we didn't succeed it was a challenge however some clues made zero sense and lead to nothing.
Great experience!
Awesome escape games and real friendly staff
We had an excellent experience for my wife's birthday...nearly made it out of the room!
Recently did the virtual escape room with some co-workers and we all really loved it. I was skeptical doing everything over Zoom and only a few pictures as reference would be boring but it was quite the opposite. You need to use your imagination to visualize the environment/room but it just added to the experience and challenge. Highly recommend it.
Very well thought out room with complicated puzzles to solve but logical answers to be found. Thoroughly enjoyed our hour locked up in here.
Sherlock Escapes was fun! We did the photo lab in 45 minutes with six people, including a 9 year old. There was a good mix of puzzles - some easy, some hard. We were quickly able to get clues and time checks when we needed them.
Expensive enough for students.
We had a great experience with Sherlock Escapes. We did a virtual escape room and the organization was great from start to finish. We were a group of 14 so we joined the Zoom call as a full group and were then split into 2 teams of 7 for the challenge, before rejoining in the Zoom lobby after we'd finished. We did 'The Lair' which is their medium difficulty room and I would say it's a great room if you have differing level of experience with escape rooms in your group. I had no idea how the escape room would work online, but it worked really well! The hosts were great and managed the room really well. Overall a fantastic experience. Thanks Sherlock's Escapes!
The team at Sherlock's was very organized and facilitated our group of 37 very seamlessly through our 5 rooms. The cadence of virtual instructions/guessing was easy enough for our group to follow and eventually you get the hang of it, compared to being in person. Very well done and our team had nothing but positive feedback to share! Great bonding/culture building for teams scattered throughout NorthAmerica.
We have done all three rooms at Sherlock Escapes! The nice thing about these rooms is they tie in with a story line! When we arrived we were greeted with a friendly face and given the do’s and dont’s of the escape...the rooms are very well laid out and each one poses a new challenge for beginners or seasoned escape room visitors. I would highly recommend doing the rooms in their proper order so you get the full effect! Highly recommend Sherlock Escapes!
Sherlock's Escape is a fun activity to have with a few friends via online. It is a great team problem-solving experience filled with riddles and puzzles. Teams will need to effectively communicate and create strategic approaches to solving puzzles. I recommend this activity and would play again!
We did The Lair virtual escape room and really enjoyed it! Armstrong, our room host, was friendly and helpful. We had a lot of fun and will definitely do another.
Had an awesome time! Challenging and entertaining, a great night out in Kingston!
The concept is good, the experience was ok
They hosted a PA Day camp and my daughter attended and she absolutely loved it. She can’t stop talking about it. They had a fun filled day and she has a great memory as well.
The puzzles were really fun, and the staff were excellent. We had a blast!! We did the Scandal in Kingston game and were so frustratingly close to finishing. Looking forward to trying another case. ????
Room was well built and puzzles were fun. Room did have a slight puzzle error but was fixed.
Our group had an amazing time! I've done 2 rooms and they are all different, fun, and challenging. Great customer service from all of the staff too.
Very challenging for our family of 3. We have done a number of escape rooms already but this one was an interesting twist where 1 of us was locked in a seperate room adding to the complexity.
Very exciting experience for adults and kids alike.
Hosted a birthday party for our 10 year old. Fantastic staff. Excellent puzzles (solved with a little adult help). Wonderful experience. Would highly recommend.
My family and I had a great time doing the doctors redemption room! very tricky, but was fun nonetheless.
So much fun! Thank you for an awesome experience :)
Love it will definitely be going back.
Well designed and fun problems. Staff are very friendly!
Staff was nice and helpful. We were 15 of us and a little confused but they were patient. Great spot. Would book again.
We went on my birthday with our two kids (age 10 and 7) as well as my parents. Had an exceptional time and loads of fun. We will definitely go again
We invited Sherlock’s and hosted an escape room at our house. Matt was so engaging and kept our young detectives on the case! Our guests had a blast and were excited they had solved the trickiest puzzles first. I would highly recommend Sherlock’s!
What a wonderful experience! We were greeted by a strapping young lad explained the concepts and rules of escape rooms. While informative the gentleman was funny and friendly. We did the Doctor's Redemption room. While there are signs of "escape room ware" the space was clean and clear. We did have trouble figuring out some of the puzzles (more of a comment on us than the room) We had a blast and never felt outright stupid. 10/10 we will be back again! Cheers,
This was our first escape room, so we were not sure what we were in for. It was fun, well put together. There is this side mystery which I really didn't care about. I would not recommend for anyone who has mobility issues. They should not do it as there is some minor clambering to do. I'm 59 and had no problem, but if you have mobility, balance or issues like that then think twice. Overall, I enjoyed the place. The staff was friendly. They didn't try to up-sell us, so that was nice. Took a pic at the end which I thought they'd try and sell us, but no.. So kudos for that. There were 3 of us and we didn't make it out, but I'm pretty pleased with how far we got. We knew what to do, but just didn't have enough time! I recommend you give this a try if you want something fun to do.
Have some kinks to work out but a great escape room experience.
Completed The Lair virtual escape room with my team as a part an appropriate week and we had a blast. It was a great experience from the time we ordered it right through until we completed the room. Definitely recommend. Thinking of doing a different one with my friends!
Had a good time with the family at the Photo Lab. It was the company's first escape room so I can tell that some things were a little bit rocky (some clues were hard to find, some clues were hard to figure out what to do with), but overall, we escaped and everyone enjoyed themselves. I'm hopeful that future rooms will be even better! Update: our family went back to do Scandal in Kingston a year later and I'm sad to say the quality of the experience has not improved much. Many of the clues were finicky and/or there was room for interpretation. A few times we found ourselves saying the answer could be ABC or ADC or ABE or ADE, depending on what the game designers were thinking at the time. There were several times where we knew how we were supposed to solve a puzzle (which should have been the exciting aha! moment) but our solution didn't quite work and we had to spend several minutes working on slight variations on our solution (moving an specific item a millimeter to the left, for example). My review remains a solid 3-stars.
We just had a team activity in a virtual escape room. There were 30 participants divided into 4 break out rooms. It was fun to try to figure out the clues and try to successfully escape. Even though our team finished last, I am happy to say that we all escaped and no man/woman was left behind. It's a great way to get to really know your teammates, and our host from Sherlock's was excellent.
We did a virtual escape room I had given my Mom as a Christmas gift. She loved it and it was an amazing experience! Sofia was our “guide” and she did a great job “painting” the scene for us. We managed to escape this time and there were 6 of us connected to the zoom meeting from various locations. I would highly recommend this, pandemic or no! We will be doing another one! Thank you Sherlock’s Escapes!
Thank you for an amazing experience. Detective BC and Matt were great to deal with and the room was extremely immersive and a ton of fun. So glad we stopped in from Ottawa to try this room out.
Sherlock hosted our work event for 15 people. They did a great job. Recommend strongly.
We hired Sherlock`s Escapes for one of our corporate team-bonding virtual experiences. There were 24 people in total as guests and Sherlock`s Escapes have been nothing but accomodating and professional. All of our employees had an amazing time together and it brought us together during these tough pandemic times that much more. From being in constant communication with me as the organizer, changing the number of attendees a number of times all the way to making us feel welcomed in a group setting, and keeping us laughing, this company has exceeded our expectations. All of us will recommend them to our friends, family and we will use them in the future for other corporate events.
Had a great time. The gentleman running the room was very nice and had a great sense of humour. He did an amazing job describing the scenery and the objects we were interacting with. Going to try this again but at a harder difficulty! :)
We had an awesome experience doing the virtual room, “The Lair”. Our group of 5 used Zoom from 3 different locations and the technology worked great. We were a bit nervous about it being “audio only” but it was no problem! Once our host described it as a Dungeons and Dragons-esque experience we totally got into it! Zainab was an awesome host! Highly recommend this very affordable activity to connect with friends and family!
Lots of fun! We didn't solve it but maybe we will when we try the other rooms! Apparently we tried the one with 18% success rate.
Fun detective adventure.
Had a really great time trying to escape the puzzle room.
Enjoyed this experience two adults and five 8-11 year olds. The host was very patient with the kids and we were able to solve the easiest room (Summer Camp) with two hints. The concept and maps were clever, and the clues and narrative were fun! Would try other rooms in the future.
Have been to a few escape rooms but this was the best by far.
Highly recommended to anyone who enjoys novelty and puzzles! Everything was well thought out and carefully crafted to heighten the experience—from the initial "training" through to the quality of the puzzles. Also, the staff were wonderfully articulate, very helpful and impeccably dressed.
My friends and I had fun doing the Virtual Escape Room. We've even talked about doing another one!
We loved it so much we did all three rooms in one week. Plus, the game host Megan is super awesome, personable and funny! She made it that much better. Thanks again!!!
The room we did was great, there were multiple times I was blown away with how cool aspects of the room were. I would highly recommend trying one yourself! I hope to be able to make it back again.
We did a virtual escape room and it was a ton of fun. It was very well prepared and having someone hosting the room and answering questions about it made the experience better in my opinion. It is also very cheap compared to other similar options. They were reluctant to use Google Meet for the event perhaps because they are used to Zoom, but it worked fine.
Really fun rooms with clever puzzles. I did 2 of 3 rooms, and would recommend all 3 (in order) if you have the time, as there is a common story that links them all together.
It was an awesome experience. The host was very helpful and very accommodating. The only drawback was that we were a party of seven and only five people were allowed.
We had a great experience and our tour guide was amazing! We will definitely purchase another experience.
Challenging and fun. A great family activity. We escaped with 2 minutes to spare and with adrenaline pumping.
The staff was incredibly enthusiastic and friendly. Made the experience so much better. I've been to a few escape rooms but this was probably one of the best ones I've been to! Thanks for the experience!!
Had an amazing escape experience in the photo lab room! The puzzles were well thought out and I love the theme! Can't wait to come back to do the other rooms to complete the story!
Was a lot of fun! Took a lot of think!
Had a virtual escape over Zoom with students and the experience was quite nice. It took awhile to get going because it was virtual and took the participants a moment to get a feel for it. Then eventually all participants got into it and we had a blast. We rushed as the clock was running out which made it more exciting for us. The host/moderator was kind and patient with us. Definitely worth a try with friends and team-building.
Fun escape rooms if you want a challenge . Friendly staff.
Absolutely amazing theme, great puzzles, some of the things seen in their culinary pursuit escape room are so unique I've never seen it in any previous escape room, well designed , no dull moment or repetition, always keeps things exciting which is difficult for most escape rooms. We will definitely do the whole series
Participated in the virtual escape room "The Lair" with 5 colleagues. We had a blast, very well thought out puzzles an immersive experience led by a host. Would definitely recommend!
An awesome place to have fun and even give the brain a bit of a workout
Really good escape room. I've done many rooms, but love how these ones are themed around Sherlock... Cool backstory with a continuing story line between rooms. Very friendly and helpful staff too. Only marked down a point as the room we did was a little less furnished than a lot I have been to.
I am an experienced escapee, and Sherlock Escapes is now in my top 3 favourites! The themes are engaging and original, the props and environment are well thought out, the puzzles are multilayered and challenging, and super friendly host! I can't wait to come back and escape again.
We had a wonderful evening doing our Virtual Escape room. Our host Riley was excellent. We are in Calgary and it was great to be able to enjoy this experience remotely - Sherlock's Escape has done a wonderful job in creating content that can be enjoyed from anywhere in Canada.
We did a virtual escape room - 2 groups of 5 racing to finish. They were so helpful figuring out how to have the best experience for our group of 10 ahead of time and on the day of made the experience a blast! A great way to spend a Friday evening with friends from all over!
Really fun. We will definitely take a larger group next time because four brains just didn't cut it! Emily was super-friendly and helpful, though we didn't take advantage of her help as much as we should have! Oh, well - next time!
Sherlock's Escapes hosted a virtual escape room for my staff holiday party. It was an excellent experience through and through. They were easy to work with, thoughtful, and just challenging enough. I highly recommend their virtual offerings.
My friends and I had such a fun time! Once I finished a room I wanted to immediately do another one. The staff was incredibly fun and friendly and the rooms were extremely enjoyable. Can't wait to go back!!
A really great first experience with escape rooms. A really fun blend of difficulty and enough support to take the frustration away. The staff and super friendly and the concept is spectacular. Really glad we made time for it on our trip.
We had a really good time at Sherlock's Escapes! The staff are friendly, and the one room we did (A Scandal in Kingston) had a number of creative puzzles. It seems they have a fairly frequent turnaround for the rooms too, so I look forward to seeing what's new in the next few months. I wish some of their "extra puzzles" (things that aren't related to escaping but can be found as part of the room) had some more substance to them. I also felt some of the later puzzles could've been a little more complex by incorporating items from earlier in the room. Definitely recommend to locals, but also as a fun activity for anyone visiting!
Loved the games. I am totally addicted to Escape Rooms and was happy to see another in town. Had a few minor issues with room reset but other then that a fun experienced by all.... Oh and we totally escaped one of the two we did lol.
Our group of friends had an amazing time here trying to solve the crime. Although we didn't make it, it was absolute nerve wracking all the way. The puzzles are definitely well though of except some seem to be questionable on their robustness and repeatability of arriving towards a solution. I understand some teams might have cracked all of those without clues but I still think robustness in puzzles need to be worked out. Overall, very well though of interior & properties for the Escape room.
Unfortunately the room had an issue with one of the clues, which had to do with a scale and measuring the weights of various items. The scale itself was not an accurate device, as no matter how we put the items on it, the resulting number was never consistent. We had the game master enter the room to show us at the end how to make it work, and he himself couldn’t get it to work and then took rice out of the ziploc to get the right number. He was dismissive with our group’s suggestions on possibly getting a different scale for future games, and was standoffish at the end. He seemed overwhelmed with the other groups and didn’t respond to our requests when called over the radio (we had to leave the room two times to get his attention). For the money charged per person, I would have expected clues that worked, and service that was more appropriate.
Had a great time! Good puzzles.
Absolutely loved this escape room. It was well thought out and super fun. The clues were challenging but not impossible, which made them just right for our group of 2 adults and 2 pre-teens. I would definitely recommend it!
We participated in a virtual corporate team building event (Breaching The Boss’s Office) and it was great! From start to finish, the team at Sherlock’s was helpful and professional. They even customized the story to include the names of our bosses! Would highly recommend and book another event in the future.
I've only tried one escape room at Sherlock's Escapes but i enjoyed the theme and the puzzles were cool. I was entertained the whole way through. I may check out the other rooms but I wish they had more variety of rooms.
Enjoyed The Dublin House virtually with a party of 8 for my husband’s birthday! The moderator did a great job and afterwards the group were all complimenting his commitment to the scene and all of his voices of the characters! Nolan did a really great job and accommodated our request to use google instead of zoom on the fly! We weren’t sure how an escape room would work virtually but it was pretty seamless and a really fun way to connect with our friends virtually! Will definitely do this again! Thanks Nolan!
Super fun experience! Variety of puzzles to solve that made you think out of the box. Lots of teamwork required.
We had a great time doing The Lair virtually! We played from two different locations and it worked perfectly. Emily was a great host!
Very well designed rooms!
We did a virtual escape room for our son‘s 11th birthday with four of his friends all on Zoom. It was really great! My son absolutely loved it and the kids work together to solve the mystery. Highly recommend this as a fun activity to connect kids together from their own homes!
Overall great experience. Perfect thing to do with friends/small group either virtually or in person. Give your brain a workout and have some fun. The host is wildly entertaining!
Great experience!!...My family loved our "culinary experience" ...we have done several in the past and this was one was right up our ally and this was our nieces first time in an escape room and had a blast...next trip to Kingston we're going to have to try a different room...
We did our first virtual escape room for my daughter's birthday. We loved it! The host was fantastic and the story was fun. Would highly recommend and we will definitely be back to do it again.
That is an amazing escape room! I recommend to visit this place!
Solid escape room, great fun, excellent theme, and friendly staff. Need I say more?
Had a great experience here. Had a fun time trying to solve the puzzles and going through the room. They gave a nice introduction to escape rooms to make the whole experience more entertaining.
There were four of us, we tried the virtual escape room entitled "The Lair". Our hostess guided us along when we needed her. We had a blast! We were able to solve the clues and escape the room! All done in the comfort and safety of our own home, with refreshments and snacks. Can't wait to try another one! The room is well thought out, some clues fairly easy, others a little more difficult. But we had so much fun.
My kids and I went and did "Doctors redemption". We didn't do so well but we had an amazing time trying. I would recommend to anyone. Great experience!! Thank you.
Great experience! The game masters were very friendly and helpful with clues. The escape room was immersive. I wish that the walls were a little thicker because I could hear one of the other games happening, but that is a minor problem. Thanks a lot for a fun night out.
Kingston doesnt have a huge selection of escape rooms, however this has not effected the quality. It is very clear that whoever worked on this space really enjoyed their work and it is alot of fun going from room to room. Some of the puzzles are perhaps a bit too challenging, but overall I really enjoyed my experiences here.
We planned this for a birthday celebration. We had ages 16-60. Everyone had a ball and We ESCAPED! But it was tough. I have done a few escape rooms and couldn’t believe the attention to detail and planning that goes into this room (Culinary Pursuit)! We have since tried another. Would recommend the price is great for a family night out.
My wife and I did this on our honeymoon... Had a great time. Puzzles were well layed out. Our room even had a bookcase to climb over. Friendly staff. Great experience!
This is a great escape room. We’ve done two of the rooms now, both very creative and challenging without being so frustrating and impossible that you just want to give up. The Sherlock theme is cleverly woven into each room’s storyline. Would highly recommend it.
Good....
My team and I (about 15 people, two separate hosts) did 'The Lair" (medium difficulty) and found it quite fun! We participated virtually and the hosts were both funny and engaging. The only feedback I would give is there was a bit of disorganization prior to the game starting and no one received a map or a video link 10 minutes before the game was supposed to start. While we eventually got both of those things and the game carried on, it was a bit confusing at the beginning. But overall, a fun experience that I would recommend to others!
Really fun night! Interesting and challenging games, it was pretty tough, but my friends and I had a lot of fun trying to solve all the puzzles. If you're looking for a unique night out, try it!
It was our first escape room and we really enjoyed it. We went with another couple who were on there 20 room. Our team work almost paid off, we're very close to escaping. Can't wait to try another.
We did a virtual escape room as a work team building event. It was a great experience, very interactive, fast-paced, and fun for the whole team. The support from Sherlock's Escapes was awesome, from administrative details with booking and payment, to the actual coordination of the event. Highly recommend!
The rooms here were so fun!! An amazing way to bond with my teammates, and everyone was so welcoming when we arrived. The rooms were challenging but very exciting to complete :)
We had a wonderful time at Sherlock's Escapes in Kingston last summer, and yesterday really enjoyed their modified virtual escape room! I highly recommend trying a virtual room to get those brain cells going while stuck inside, and we definitely look forward to trying some more soon!
Amazing experience! I've been to a lot of escape rooms in Ontario and without a doubt this is one of the best. I highly recommend the virtual experiences, they were not at all what I was expecting. I thought it would be awkward but it was a lot of fun.
Worst escape room I've ever played - cheap, bad puzzles, etc. Somehow they charge the same as the other escape room in kingston that has much better games. Do not recommend
Booked 3 virtual rooms for the hardest level as part of our department's retreat. The staff were extremely accommodating and worked with our requests to fit our schedule. Everyone really enjoyed the experience - it was both entertaining and challenging. You are not interacting within a site, but telling the host what you want to do in a sort of "choose your own adventure". The hosts definitely make a difference.
Just did a virtual one, and it was fantastic. A lot of fun, want to do the others!
I have played many escape rooms and this one was the most unprofessional and anticlimactic I have ever been to. Our host seemed to not be super familiar with all of the rules and the storyline revolving around our room and he made it obvious to us that he just wanted us to get out so he could go home. When we had escaped the room we were met with our host saying that if we didn't have any questions then we should hurry up and leave so he could close up. Upon saying the room felt like it had no ending and we didn't even figure out what happened to Sherlock our host told us that there is actually another room to the game but he didn't want to go through the hassle of cleaning and sanitizing that one after we were done. I've also seen comments mentioning having to sign waivers, we were not told to sign anything before we began. Just disappointing.
We booked Sherlock's Escapes for a company event, remotely, and it was amazing! The team was very flexible and super helpful leading up to our event. They invited us to a room through Zoom where we broke out into smaller rooms and escaped with our host guiding us along the way. It was very competitive between teams but we had a great time and will definitely book again in the future. Thanks Matt and Daniel for your help!
Friendly staff but poorly designed escape room. Clues unrelated to the theme of Sherlock and a general lack of creativity in the puzzles presented. Very stuffy inside, very poorly lit (my parents couldn't even see the clues and a magnifying glass was provided). Everybody in our party of 7 agreed it was the least entertaining escape room we've ever been to. All that being said, I think these things can be fixed - staff was very engaged and friendly
Fun escape room. Had a little bit of trouble with one of the locks not working but they gave us somemore time to try and complete the room!
During these difficult COVID times, meeting up with friends and family has not been possible. This is a great way to play an interactive game with others but stay safe at home. These games are taxing on your brain and the input from everyone involved will eventually solve the mystery! This was a great way to share an evening with our kids who live elsewhere - we got to laugh and plan together and it relieved some of the stress we are all under! i would HIGHLY recommend these experiences now and even during non-COVID times! We will definitely be doing it again!!!!
Had our K.W.E.Pros Christmas party here tonight and we did two of the Escape rooms. Had a blast doing it. I would highly recommend this to anyone.
Tons of fun. The staff was incredible and extremely approachable. We were unable to figure out the combination for the box in the lobby so that will be the goal for next time!! We already have one leaderboard position and unfortunately did not get another one tonight but nonetheless the less had a great time successfully escaping The Photo Lab.
Daniel and the team were amazing! They helped me put together a virtual zoom party for my daughter and her friends. They all had a great time. Highly recommend it !
A fun group activity for all ages!!
Great experience, and great people working there. The rooms were fun and well put together, a great place for people who love puzzles and think logically
Our family loves Sherlock so the idea of an escape room was perfect for our family birthday celebration. The decor was fantastic and the music made us smile. We were warmly greeted by a friendly and engaging host. It was clear that it was made for us. The puzzles were challenging and we worked as a family to solve them. A big art of the enjoyment was the puzzles but the best part was the intangible - a family activity, sharing the pure pleasure of the adventure. This activity was much better than going to a movie because we talked to each other and shared the moment. For us to find an activity for our 18 and 20 year old as well as my husband and I to all equally enjoy is difficulty. Sherlock's Escape was perfect. I can't wait to go back and try a new case. I would love to go back with friends as well - have a little dinner, and share in the joy. Well done, Sherlock.
Our group really enjoyed it - definitely a fun experience!
So much fun. It was a great date night. Challenging but not impossible. Will definitely go again.
We had a wonderful experience! The puzzles were very well thought out and it was a challenge but we managed to escape! Emily was a great room host with a lovely personality! I will definitely be recommending this place to my friends.
Good place to go and wind down
Craig did a great job helping us break out
Poorly designed room, my group played Photo Lab. We have played quite a few escape rooms, and It was challenging due to poor design, not due to difficult puzzles. Also there are aspects of this game that are not accessible and pose safety concerns.
I would highly recommend Shelock's Escapes. The rooms are very well done and the clues are great for beginners and veterans. We will definitely be going back to escape from the other rooms.
Had a really fun night playing one of the Unsolved Mysteries. It was all online, played just like an escape room but from home. Well worth it!
First time going to an escape room . I was unsure of what to expect and was reallly surprised. Had a lot of fun figuring out how to get out of the room. The clues that you had to figure out were challenging and required everyone to think. Would highly reccommend it and look firward to doing it again.
Cool experiance
Loads of fun at this place. Did the 2 person room and it was a nice challenge. Staff was very friendly and accommodating to us newcomers. The decor is great. Sherlock theme is perfect. Wonderful time!
Great fun.
Really unique escape room with excellent pre game intro & true to the style of sherlock.
Have been to many escape rooms before and never experienced so many problems. The room started off good but could have been made much better by making it more challenging with the lights off. Then once making it to the third and final room, there were technical problems continuously happening! After struggling for at least 10 minutes we called for help, and it was a technical problem, so once fixed, we continued.. and once again it happened... and again. We had solved the room, but needed to pass to escape, with these technical issues it became extremely frustrating. Eventually we were able to reset once again and escape the room. We were then never told if we made it within the 60 minutes(which I believe we did). This was a complete waste of our time and money. We all understand that sometimes you cant help technology problems, but it should not have happened 4 times in a row!! At least the clock could have been stopped during these times, since we would have made a record time. A refund or a voucher to complete another room would have been nice considering how problematic this was.
Great virtual room. Our game master was lovely. Challenging and unique!
Had a great experience doing a virtual room last night. Our host (whose name we never got - sorry!) was awesome and really helped make the experience great with her enthusiasm and intonation. Would definitely recommend the virtual escape rooms for anyone looking for a change of pace in lockdown. It was easy to book online and the hosts emailed you a zoom link 15 minutes before as scheduled.
My favourite escape room in town. Puzzles are well thought out. Decor is fun. Staff are great. I have done all three of their rooms and would recommend them all, although A Scandal in Kingston was my favourite.
A fun and challeging new experience.
We had 3 teenage boys, two adults and a child of 7 for the experience. So much fun and really tested your thought process. It took teamwork and individual thoughts to escape. I highly recommend this excellent experience for all ages. Staff (Daniel) was fantastic and really played his part well and we could tell he enjoyed his experience with each of us as well.
Always friendly staff and adherence to public health guidelines made me and my friends feel very safe while racing against the clock!
Nice place to pick your brains
Awesome time here at sherlocks escape . We were just 2 people and did doctors redemption . Our “ guide “ was entertaining and made the very beginning of it fun . The actual experience of being in the locked room and having to escape was for us a tad difficult . We did succeed with some help but the clues are hidden very well that’s for sure ! Would recommend for groups of people or even couples ! I’ll be going back for sure and I’m going to try other escape rooms back home now that I know how much fun they can be ! Thanks for the great time
Great times as a work outing. Work took us for a staff appreciation afternoon, and this was a blast! Not only that, but my group was the only one of the three rooms that got out so feeling pretty smart!!! Friendly staff, very fun room, and cool theme in the place. I will be back with my family.
Great experience with my family. We had a wonderful time together at Sherlock's Escapes. Definitely a excellent choice. Excellent customer service also.
I had a great time checking out the newest room at this neat spot downtown Kingston! The room was challenging and fun, will most definitely be back!
This was SUCH an amazing escape room adventure! Loved all the details and the awesome twists and puzzles. The gentleman who works here is SO helpful and friendly. I don't know how he managed to run so many escape room games at a time and man the front desk so awesomely. Truthfully not to be missed if you're in Kingston!
Really great atmosphere, most unique puzzles I've ever seen in an escape room
We did the Doctor’s redemption and honestly it was so well thought out and the hints were so useful, had the greatest time!! I’ve done a lot of escape rooms and this was one of the best!
Excellently designed escape room. Challenged our entire team to divide and conquer all the riddles before time ran out.
I was very impressed at how wonderful the virtual Escape Room was run! Had 6 teens and everyone was engaged , contributing and enjoyed the experience!!! Thanks again
Did the Doctors Redemption room. Nice and bright inside, which I appreciated. Almost all puzzles do not have any tech components to them, but were alright nonetheless. The last puzzle was interesting and a nice surprise. But could have made it even more physically challenging by adding more sensors. It requires a minimum of three players to play the room, but don't see why. Two players could physically complete all the puzzles. In fact, if more than 4 players are in your group then I would say it would be severely cramped in there, and many of the players would be standing around with not enough to do.
Incredibly fun experience at a very fair price. My group still cannot stop talking about it. We played an easy-medium difficulty virtual game and it was exactly as advertised. Tonight we will be trying a medium difficulty game and look forward to the others. It really reminds us of old text-adventure games, but with visuals and human contact. Lawrence was an amazingly friendly and adaptive host!
Recently visited for a team building related group. Everything was clean and sanitized, and there were important safety measures in place. The escape room guide was fun, helpful and kind. He even gave us a few extra minutes just so we could complete the entire escape room! An awesome, engaging and fun experience for all ages and all people - would recommend this experience to anyone who loves some good team focused puzzle solving!
We had our first company wide remote activity with Sherlock's Escapes and we had a blast! I've done escape rooms before but this was my first virtual one. I had my doubts and thought it wouldn't be as immersive but the hosts were incredible and really made the experience fun.
I organized this as a virtual event for my colleagues and we had such a great time! Highly recommend. ????
Awesome decor and environment!
I went in with zero expectations and was completely blown away. The atmosphere was very convincing and the challenges were fair. Would return in a heartbeat. Great job!
I've been there a few times now and the experience has always been great! By far my favourite for escape rooms. All the rooms have a common theme throughout and if you do more than one room, you will find they tie in together. The "case" gets presented to you in a fun way just before the experience. The place is clean and welcoming. The puzzles are really fun. A+ for me. I'll be going back.
Recently completed the virtual escape room "Surviving Summer Camp". It was so much fun. A great way to 'spend time' virtually with family! Very well put together and the host was enthusiastic and interactive, thank you!!
We had our Christmas Party there. It was amazing. A lot of fun surprises, a great experience. Would love to go again.
Fun escape room. Great staff who are fun and willing to converse. I've seen more complicated rooms and not every puzzle is the best but thy try hard and its atleast entertaining. Better than their local competitors by far!
Unfortunately, my experience at Sherlock's Escapes on October 6th was highly disappointing. As a former manager of a well reputed escape room company, I know how the business works and was extremely disappointed with the service and experience we got. Our experience started off with a Game Host's very shaky delivery of the backstory. This particular Game Host had a clipboard with the backstory and was practically reading it the entire time. During our actual time in the room, a few things were out of place. First, some duct tape was left in an area that had previously held a clue. Our Game Host informed us of that. This undoubtedly left us thinking a clue was missing. Secondly, a singular key was left in a maze. Upon asking our Game Host if this was done on purpose, he simply replied ''Yea, that was just left there''. After whizzing through the rooms and escaping, my team members and myself felt as though the entire experience was very anti-climactic. We were left wondering what had happened to Sherlock and Watson as our mission was to rescue them. We therefore asked our Game Host what the end of the story was and he nonchalantly answered ''oh, it's because there's actually another room that you're supposed to go through but it's too much of a hassle to clean''. The Game Host then said ''if you don't have any questions, you can leave because I have to clean''. We left the premises having felt as if we were robbed of the entire experience. As a former manager of an escape room company, here is how I suggest Sherlock's Escapes better their experiences: 1. Ensure all Game Hosts are trained proficiently before delivering back stories 2. Ensure all rooms are checked before customers enter, removing any props or materials that are unnecessary or have been changed 3. Ensure Game Hosts believe the offered experience is worth the price and that the latter have an answer to the story plot 4. Ensure Game Hosts leave the customers on a high 5. Reduce pricing if the whole experience is not offered As such, I am left with one final question: why did my team members and I have to pay full price for an altered, reduced and shortened experience? -Mathias Blanchard
My family had a very fun experience trying to solve the mystery
We recently did one of the virtual escape rooms. I would highly recommend it as something fun to do with friends over the internet. The room itself was challenging with unique puzzles. A great evening of entertainment!
Great adventure! We missed it by 2 clues! Please do go here!
First time doing an escape room, and it was a blast!!! But you will definitely need to put on your thinking caps if you want to escape:) The puzzles were very interesting and well laid out. Staff were very friendly!
our guide was cheerful and friendly and explained the mechanics, story, and theme well. we did the "scandal in kingston" escape with 2 people and were able to escape with less than 10 minutes left (we are reasonably experienced with escape games). the individual puzzles were thematic, charming, and fun with a couple unique ones we haven't seen before. there was a mechanic within this room i have never seen before and absolutely loved and curious as to why it's not commonly used. overall had a great time, would love to try the other rooms.
We decided to try out the virtual escape room as a staff event and we are so glad we did. It was fantastic! If you’re on the fence about how one can be put together online, rest assured, this was great. Thanks to the folks at Sherlock’s Escapes for some good fun and some big laughs.
I booked a virtual escape room for my daughter's birthday. Her and her friends had a great experience and the host was amazing. Thanks Sherlocks escapes for helping make my daughters birthday fun in lockdown!
I’ve been to a ton of other escape rooms around the country. Sherlock Escapes was by far the most entertaining. I’m so glad my friend told me to check you guys out. I suggested to my boss that we host our company’s staff holiday party there next month and she agreed! I look forward to attempting to solve another room this time with the help of my co-workers. Keep up the great work. And see you next time. A++++
Loved the atmosphere! Was definitely wanting to find Sherlock at all costs!! Took girls from my team here and we all had a blast, such a great team bonding experience :)
OMG who thought doing an escape room challenge from the comfort of your own home could be so much fun? I wasn’t sure when I first heard Sherlock Escapes was offering the option. It was challenging yet exciting for my wife and I to explore the clues and work together to solve the caper. It took us a few hours to get through to the end but we did it! It was a nice change of pace amid what’s going on in the world. We just ordered another one for date night next week. We can’t wait. I highly recommend A Cavernous Caper!
Our host was wonderful! He was really kind and knowledgeable. Photo lab needs a more linear flow and some clues could be clearer but a great concept with huge potential
My friends and I have now participated in two virtual escape rooms; The Lair & Breach The Boss’ Office; and have had such a great time! Our hosts Keily & Sofie we’re both fantastic and made the experience so enjoyable for us all! Looking forward to doing more virtual escapes and hopefully visiting in person soon!
Great spot the birthday party was amazing for the kids. They ALMOST got through. A very patient staff.
We were 10, ranging in age from 11 to none of your business! And had so much fun. This is well structured and hosted and what a family reunion it was. Thank you Sherlock's Escapes!
never been there, but it looks very fun!!!!!
I have completed the 3 rooms they have to offer and enjoyed them all. Each was unique and presented a different type of puzzle/experience while all staying true to the Sherlock theme! Would recommend for those new to escape rooms, but also to more experienced players.
I did this esscape room last week. Average price, average fun. I did the culinary pursuit. Time is way too short for everything that has to be done. The first room is just time consuming. Then the second, way too much non sence and really not clear about what to do. Finding code after code after code for locks. Guys common find other alternative and objectives. For example, put a piece of equipment in a specific spot or use an ipad to find a code or patern perhaps. When you have 8 locks to open in the same room and barely any indication about what code open what....common. Overall was partially fun but doesn't worth going back
Had a wonderful experience at Sherlock Escapes. The staff were fantastic, the games were well thought out. Definitely will go back!
My book club did the virtual Summer Camp escape last evening as our holiday event. All eight of us had such fun and we solved the prank in the last few minutes. whew! Our facilitator/ storyteller was excellent. Highly recommend this activity to other groups.
This was my first time doing an escape room and I had a blast! The rooms were both tricky and fun, and it was a great way to bond with friends. I would highly recommend Sherlock's Escapes to anyone who is looking for something fun to do in Kingston.
I have been to many escape rooms across the country. Sherlocks escape had an awesome theme and the puzzles were well thought out. The building was easy to find and very well decorated. Would recommend to one and all. My one suggestion is to get better word locks as you can bypass the game easily by figuring out the code ;)
not the best escape room I've done but also not the worst its decent for people new to escape rooms but if you've done some of the better ones it might bore you a bog
Had a real blast !
One of the best escape rooms I've ever been to.
I won second place in one of the levels
Would highly recommend! Really fun time with family, friends, or colleagues.
This was a lot of fun. We went for my friends birthday. We didn't get out in time but they let us finish, we were 2 mintestinal overy time. The puzzles were a lot of fun, and there was a lot to explore. This escape room follows a story line, and we are very excited to go back and try the next room.
Just did my second room and love it as much as the first time. Highly recommend!!
Did an escape room here around a year ago, maybe slightly longer. It was decent. Wasted a good chunk of time on ambiguous clues. Was a little disappointed with multiple clues being tied to things you had to see through a window, rather than being in the set. The concept of the room was good, but the execution was a little lacklustre.
This was my second escape room (the first being one in the GTA) and this was so fun! It had unique things and the experience was overall fantastic.
Just did a virtual escape room this weekend, super fun, engaging and a great way to spend an afternoon in!
