5-Agust-16: they currently have an ENIGMA machine. It's a small museum with very little tourists visiting. Some of the radars and machines are fascinating. It's incredible how massive these devices were before. There is also a section where they exposed medals for all deceased soldiers.

War is often the cause of much innovation and technological advancement. This unique collection of Items provides an excellent overview of the many ways of communication used in past and present wars, conflicts and peace keeping by Canadians around the world. Highly recommend for all ages.

Amazing history of the signals branch of the military.

We have a large number of museums in Kingston and I believe the Military Communications Museum is the largest. It recently went through a major enlargement in order to house the large trucks jammed full of communications equipment and big pieces of communications towers. Still there are all sorts of human size exhibits and displays from the original museum. Much use is made of mannequins wearing uniforms and communications equipment. The First World War is also widely represented in artifacts, photographs and artwork. This visit to the Museum was part of March break. The kids and grandkids were able to make take-aways such as Murney Towers and bracelets representing Morse code letters. They could also engage in activities where they could connect electronic and electrical items to make things happen.

This museum was a decent little museum before. Now, it's even better. For a place that's by donation, it's great. There are some awesome artefacts. If you're a fan of all things military or specifically a signals and engineering nerd (like me), it's a must. Some of the video and interactive displays weren't working during my visit, but they are a newer addition to the place, so I expect they need to work out the kinks.

Ann Bridge

Will definitely return again for a visit.
