Friendliest people and great snow.
Very well maintained and clean. Parking was easy and everyone was happy!
Love this mountain. Night skiing is a lot of fun too.
Our 3 year old daughter was there for two and a half days. The women who work there are very caring and really understand little people. My daughter loved building her house and she loved that it was there the next day for her. She painted, played and had a lot of fun. One of the other kids did scratch her and the workers were super diligent considering it was scratch. Ski patrol even came and checked her out. I loved skiing with my hubby knowing she was happy at daycare. It seems pricey but the peace of mind and freedom was well worth the cost.
Careful going into glades and shrubbery... got stuck in powder for 20 minutes.
This skihill will only be good again.. if they build a JUMP LINE in the terrain park. Which as of now(and for the last decade) has 0 jumps. 0. 0, again, to be 100% sure you understand how many they lack.. Please build jumps again! They also used to have a SLICK little half pipe.. oh those were the days..
Great place, long runs with beautiful views. Very friendly staff and good aprés ski events on weekends! There's a couple restaurants/bars at the bottom but don't expect much of a village if you're used to that.
Quiet and peaceful
Lots of fun not too busy
Great lodging and hills
Every time I have been to Kimberly there has always been great snow conditions!! They have lots of area to explore and Purple Forest is definitely a favorite area you should plan to explore!
Great family friendly ski hill, with more challenging terrain as well.
Amazing place! If you are looking for skiing / snowboarding, this is the place, beautiful
Beauty of a day!
The best tree skiing and best family hill and best on hill accommodation ski hill in Western Canada.
You want to avoid long lift lines? Go to Kimberley Alpine resort. Small and family friendly.
Consistently hospitable and welcoming, family geared resort.
New years eve lots of things for family
Kimberley is my home town and where I garnered my love for skiing and winter! Great place to be!
I've skied here my whole life, I love this family friendly hill. Its a hidden gem with great snow, friendly staff and short lines. This was my 1st time taking my 6yr old daughter here. Sophie (or Sophia maybe?) was working the top of the magic carpet ride and was such a ray of sunshine! Wearing an elf hat, smiling, singing and chatting with everyone. She even encouraged my daughter when attempting the pilons. When she went on lunch break my daughter even asked when she'd be back. She really made the day special for us, and deserves recognition.
Excellent ski resort for a family! Great beginner runs, great powder and glade runs, awesome staff, and of course....Super Friendly Canadians!
I love the skiing here. Great terrain and rarely busy. Just time it so it had great snow.
Very nice resort
Spartan Race - Beast!!!!! Crushed it
Great place to ski/snowboard. Very long and wide runs. Went during the Xmas season and it was reasonable for how busy it was.
As long as you do not go on a long weekend, there are no lift line ups and the snow is consistently good. The resort is relatively small with only three chairs and a beginners area. The "Main" run is one of the best intermediate runs anywhere, it is even lit up at night on weekends. Most tourists stay on the "Main" run, so it is not uncommon to find powder, with a bit of hunting, for several days after fresh snowfalls.
Quick visit, too many man buns for my liking but dont hold that against them.
Such a great hill. Super friendly staff and rates were not expensive.
Great snow conditions and really enjoying on Valentines day.
My favorite family resort, also my hometown so I may be a little bias???? we have had a seasons pass for 6 seasons now, totally worth it. Great ski resort with enough terrain to satisfy almost any skiboarder. The staff is almost always in a good mood, the grooming is great untill spring, and the stemwinder is a great place to catch local talent on Friday and Saturday. Thursday night rec rut runners is always a good time, and there is more glade skiboarding then you could resonably skiboard in a day. The newly renovated Buckhorn and Main eatery is well priced and has decent food if the stemwinder is too busy. Hit up Kimbo it's totally worth it! Get your seasons pass in June and save too!
By far my favourite resort! Tonnes of mountain to hit up and I've never had horrible weather here. There's a good mix for all skill levels. The only thing I don't like here is the steep hill and bottle neck at the end of the main run.
We've celebrated NYE there, and it was a very nice experience! First, there were fun and spectacular outdoor activities, then The Stemwinder set a party in the pub with very good live music.
Great hill when it comes to family skiing. Friendly staff and EXTRAORDINARY food.
Low on snow but really enjoyed some mid week snowboarding. Out in the black forest I was on runs all on my own. It was a nice "step back" after revelstoke and kicking horse.
Only negative thing to say, filter the pool more often.
Just okay because of the 10 to 12 year old hockey players running up and down the halls. Good for them. But not very romantic for our anniversary holiday!
Kimberley is a very nice skiing mountain with lots of variation in terrain and difficulty. It's smaller, so easy to navigate and well connected - no need to worry about getting lost. Their ski instructors and staff are very friendly.
Small Hill but it's got lots of fun terrain
Great comfort. Bad tv’s. None of the channels on any three of our TVs worked(then it would be a 5). But the location was fantastic. The views were amazing. Staff friendly.
Ski school staff are a delight to deal with. Friendly and professional.
Snow is wonderful. Staff is fantastic. I’m giving RCR a 3 after they have lost their quad chair to a fire and can’t get organized. They are running a cat service poorly over everbrite. ( come on guys) its a joke trying to book. - Secondly they aren’t supply food or heated shelter on the back of the mountain or limited toilets. Get mobilized . It’s not rocket science ( we have that figured out) Get those heaters working up top . Drag a few portable toilets so their are facilities . Children and ladies aren’t really into to using the woods and a bbq works wonders for cooking food. I know it sucks to have a fire though step up and support your customers they support you.
I've had a season pass since I moved to Kimberley in 2008 and am still finding new challenges. Good all around hill for all levels of skiers/riders
My hometown hill, best of everything, especially for families!
I attended a wedding here. The location is beautiful, the facility was we'll run, and staff was great.
Fantastic resort with excellent terrain selection. There is a run for everyone.
Overall pretty good location.
Awesome snow conditions, slopes that don't get boring even after an entire season, challenging funpark for all levels. This resort is great for beginners as well as advanced skiers/ snowboarders
Great family ski resort. Feels like home. Everyone so relaxed and friendly. The hill is A1, especially for intermediate skiing. With fresh snow, front side is great for free wheelin'.
Good people good lines
Went there to see what it looks like before it's covered in snow. Saw some deer and even got to see a rainbow!
Terrain park sucks, only rails. The rest of the hill Is fine tho.
Great family ski hill
Great family hill
Kimberley is such a nice ski resort. I've been able to find super good powder here on a good day and it doesn't get skied out too too fast if you go in the right places. Been going here for a while, and it's sorta hit or miss. Definitely my favourite smaller ski hill but it still has a ton of advanced terrain.
It's a great ski hill with lots of Glade Skiing. I like the small town feel of the resort and the people. The staff were really nice, and a financial company was handing out free face masks when we were there. Great views of the Columbia Valley!!!
Great hill, even better when it gets dumps of snow. The hill has a good variety of different runs with varying skill levels. The hill is well maintained with the green runs groomed while most blues and blacks aren't.
Go here. It's amazing
Small ski area, with soso infrastructure, not a lot of grooming done during the time we stayed there
Wonderful ski hill
Great facility and awesome mountain
Like the resort, family friendly ,night skiing.
Great beginner skiing and some decent terrain on the back chair lift, as well as night skiing. Not my favourite mountain but you can still have fun. I did have one of the best powder days of my life here so it does have that to its name. Good facilities and lodging as well. Also has the dreadnaught downhill race which I have raced a couple times.
Love Kimberley Ski Resort. Great place for beginner to advanced skiers and awesome for in tree skiing...
A hidden gem with great conditions!
Unbelievable place to visit. Very friendly staff and amazing food. Highly recommended
This is @ the ski base of Kimberley's North Star Mtn, in a beautiful setting, & all set for skiing.
Love this mountain. Great family skiing on the front side and fab small mountain expert skiing on the back side. I really appreciate all they are doing in 2021 to keep us safe and keep the ski hill open.
Cannot speak for condo placement, but the general access to the mountain and gorgeous views is great!
Good hill with small lift lines
Flat
Short lift lines. Beautiful views. Nice blue and green runs. Had a great day of skiing!
Open. Uncrowded. Didn't ruin my skis on this opening day. Can't ask for much more in early December.
Looks like real family place.
Great place for bringing the family up during the holidays ????
Love it
Fun
Great skiing
Love this mountain, not much for tough terrain but a great place to shred with the kids!
Awesome mountain for skiing!
Awesome. Great place to pick wild flowers
Live music at the Stemwinder. Friendly resort.
Lots of variety.
Fantastic resort, the lines are always short and when the snow is good you'll never want to leave.
Skiing is awesome when they get good snow.
Participated in the Spartan Beast here. Really cool ski hill. Would like to come back in the winter for snowboarding.
A great family hill!
I thought I was a good skier... 30 years skiing in southern Ontario does not prepare you for real skiing. Glad I came, hope to come back.
Best little gem west of Calgary.
Great little hill when it's open. Consistent snow. Can get into the back easily. Hard runs and easy. Good family hill.
I enjoyed the skiing and service
Best snow in the rockies
This place is amazing!! The vue is beautiful and not to hard
Love this place.!!
(Translated) ON! (Original) OP!
Great little resort. Practically no line ups at lifts.
We stayed in Trickle creek lodge.the rooms are super great for the money, a few steps and you are on the slope, with hot tub and outdoor pool.front desk really helpful, I recommended.
Food was not good and uncooked.
Good family friendly runs
It's my hometown. I grew up on this hill. I have a need for speed and this ski hill satisfies this desire ????
Great family hill. Busy but not packed, worth the drive. Staff is very friendly.
Had a great day on the slopes.. great trails needed a little more snow but great day
Decent snow quality for Canada (better then BC's coast, but inferior to North Central such as Powder King). The quad chair is efficient and good for families, while the double and triple suit more advanced skiers. The restaurants are reasonably priced. It can be busy, but in general has shorter waits than the larger BC interior hills.
For the area, it delivers on all fronts. They know how to go the extra mile. Regardless of distance traveling you will always find the staff going out if there way for you year round.
Nice chill little hill. Great for families
Great snow
Family resort with great skiing for all abilities, cheap tickets. Its a hidden gem.
Nice location, great place to relax.
The hill has a wide variety of beginner and more advanced runs. Up the main chairlift is direct access to most of the beginner runs. With routes to other chairlifts to take you to the ore advanced runs. The beginner runs are great because they are wide and usually groomed. The advanced runs are a little trickier to get to, but still feel accessible and easy to return to the lodge after.
A great ski resort to bring the family to! Kimberley is a diverse mountain with many runs ranging from beginner greens, up to double black diamond tree runs. Within close proximity to the Cranbrook Airport, it is easily accessible from anywhere.
Great family hill. Runs for beginners and experts
Good snow
Our favourite place to ski with kids, family and friends. No overwhelming crowds, no waiting in line-ups, very reasonable prices. We love visiting here!
Great weekend on the hill with great weather!
Kimberly Alpine Resort is one of the 4 RCR resorts in western Canada. It's a good mountain, they have a rare Leitner high speed quad, and two other chairlifts on other parts of the hill. I wouldn't recommend going on weekends, as it can get crazy, and Kimberly has a bottleneck problem at the base of the Northstar Express. The trails off Northstar can kind of get confusing, and in case you don't want a long ski out, avoid the run "backtrack". The snow is often good quality, and they do have some amazing runs. The lodge is nothing special, just a hotel basement with a few tables, but ah well. I still will come back, as it is a sweet hill. Just avoid it on weekends would be my recommendation.
Great family ski hill. So many wonderful memories
Awesome family ski resort with excellent runs for all levels, and fun stuff for little skiers to build their confidence and skills on. Stay on the resort if you can, so much easier to ski-in, ski-out for lunch and breaks, and after the kids are done you drop them back at your suite and do a couple Mom & dad power runs to round out your day!
Perfect for families.
Great resort for the family. Lacks a little with night life.
Amazing mountain. Fantastic fast quad
Great hill for the whole family.
Nice ski resort. Snow was good in December and not too crowded despite of the Christmas holidays.
Fun
My husband and I just spent 6 days skiing. We have been coming to Kimberly once or twice a year for the past 20 years. Never have the conditions been so amazing! Thanks to all those who have done such a wonderful job maintaining and grooming the slopes as well as the wonderful lifities, ski patrols, and hosts!
DO NOT come to this resort on a long weekend or if there is a race on. The resort customarily closes off large swaths of the mountain for long periods before a race. There is only one access to the base across an approximately 40 foot wide bridge. The bridge ices up early in the day and as it is the only route to the bottom, the traffic across it is very heavy especially on weekends. Other than a couple of gates to slow traffic just above the bridge there is absolutely no control over speeding skiers and boarders. This makes a very dangerous situation for beginning skiers and small children making their way down. It is also a poor situation for more advanced skiers. The resort also likes to hold events at the base and routinely closes off large sections of the access making it even more hazardous. As the resort owners decided to build condos instead of another access to the base as originally planned, it is on them to make the one access safer by policing reckless skiers/boarders. Also, worthy of comment is the grooming or lack of it. The resort claims they have had trouble with their equipment. As in any other business with equipment that has broken down, they need to fix it or replace it in a timely manner. Of the 75 runs advertised as open, they routinely only groom under 20 runs. When conditions are marginal which occurs frequently in the later season, it pushes all levels of skiers onto fewer runs making the mountain more crowded and dangerous. In their daily reports of groomed runs they also routinely include connector trails such as Vimy Ridge. We have spent our winters skiing here for many years and have watched it go from a very nice family resort to an area that I would not recommend to anyone.
It was rocky and tree ish and it SUCKED! it put GOUGES in MY board.
It's been a very difficult start to the ski season and I feel for the staff, businesses and the people in the Kimberley community. I do believe that RCR could be of more assistance. The main chair is out for the year. Time to make the hill accessible for the masses. Have better infrastructure at the top of the Easter Chair. The current setup is not working to it's full potential.
Did the half loop around the mountain. It was okay
Probably the best resort in Canada for all abilities.
Gorgeous place. Beautiful town.
Great food, great staff
Great spring conditions! Excellent terrain for our young family.
Great family hill. Fantastic staff at the administration desk that helped me with my damaged coat.
Great ski hill for beginners to advanced. Front of mountain is very beginner friendly. Lots of intermediate to advanced off the backside of the mountain. I would recommend this hill to anyone just starting out skiing or snowboarding.
A great hill for beginners to intermediate skiing and snowboarding. Flat open tree runs, some challenging terrain on the backside.
Easily the worst hill in Western Canada for quantity of grooming. Quality is always good but in comparison to other resorts Kimberley always come in last. e.g. today Fernie 43 runs groomd, Kicking Horse 31 runs groomed and Nakiska 23 runs groomed. Kimberley 12 runs and one of these is a 300 meter single lane track they call a run. Pathetic!!!
Reasonable crowds and good variety of terrain.
The ski hill is amazing, the price of a day pass is outrageous.
Fun hill with good variety. We were able to ski in/out which was awesome!
It's a great place to go, minimum amount of people, almost no lift lines, runs completely to yourself. The runs aren't long and the hill is technically quite small so not a ton of diversity in runs. However, the hill can accommodate a number of skill levels making it a great place for families and groups. The resort itself doesn't offer much in the way of nightlife or even food choices, but a quick trip to town and the option are much better.
It was locals ski free day!! Burgers for $3. & the money went to the ski patrol!! Good snow & it was still snowing when I left!
Great snow, excellent accommodations, Canadian powder and the food will spend you to heaven
just a lovely little spot. check them out
Decent hill with runs for everyone. Rental prices are a tad on the high side compared to other hills in B.C with similar or better facilities.
There's nobody in the rental office and it's very poor service and slow going
Great location, beautiful mountains, well maintained resort and friendly stuff! What else do you need?! Definitely coming back!
Second best place on earth to Disneyworld
Great family hill with lots of different types of terrain.
They hill is beautiful with all the log style housing and lodging surrounding. The different slopes are easily mapped out and accessible. Great, friendly staff!
Awesome restaurant and great service. Food was exceptional.
Very nice
Prices are outrageous for how much snow they get and a few staff memebers are rude and have no clue how to handle any situation. Debating on ever getting a pass here again.
Looking for an address was a bit difficult lol even goggle had trouble
We come here as often as we can! Beautiful ski hill never “too” busy and the lessons are top notch. Warmer temperatures than Alberta and Kimberley is the best little mountain town ever! And by the way kids in grade two get a free RCR ski pass for the season!
This resort only has 4 lifts, no on slope restaurants. They really need that extra skiing that the purple forest would bring. Lots of traversing to get to the best slopes.
Quiet relaxing resort, great for learning how to ski or snowboard, lots of accommodations nearby. Food is average for all resorts I’ve been to
So so much room per skier
Close to town
A beautiful place
The Grandkids are in heaven. The ski school people are phenomenal. All the staff here have been outstanding. Great getaway.
The snow is awesome! The lifts are fast and easy, and the safety measures are no problem, allowing everyone to enjoy this great resort. Great times!
Great conditions! Wonderful staff! So awesome!
Had a good day on the nordic ski area and then met the kids who were doing downhill for a good lunch at the Stemwinder
NOT IMPRESSED:/ Arrived late morning, only the self serve kiosk was open, 10:45 am and the only option available was 1/2 day rate.. waited for friends to show, finally get to lift and ticket is rejected, back to guest services, charged another $18.90 for full rate at 11:15am waiting again because I told my friends not to wait...this is how corporate hill's treat guests, no fault of the employees but it could have been handled better.
Drove up in summer. Was hoping to take the chair lift and explore the area but sadly does not run in summer. Might be something to consider as alot of hills open for summer. Beautiful area.
Really appreciate the help from the ski patrol staff at Kimberly. I broke my arm on Saturday and they were all super helpful! They handled the situation really well. The staff are amazing!
Great hill for snowboarders of all levels. Not too busy on the hills as there are so many options for runs.
(Translated) Pow pa Pow Pow Pow !!!! (Original) Pow pa Pow Pow Pow!!!!
Now this is the best Hill I've been to in some years, the beauty about this Hill is, if they get 5cm-10cm of snow it's fantastic skiing, If they don't it's still fantastic skiing. Reason is I didn't find it crowded and so you get more runs in and a lot more terrain is left for you to enjoy.. Kimberly has such a selection of terrain to enjoy that you will not be board and you'll always be challenged, great for families and people learning to ski along with expert runs. Totally recommend this Hill and out of all RCR resorts I've been to this staff is tops.
Great ski resort! Recommended. Customer service really pulled through!! 5/5 Helped me with my Costco pass being left at home. Thank you Ingrid Musser and Shelby! Friendly staff. Good variety of runs, from beginners to advance.
It was a beautiful sunny day with great snow. Awesome place to relax after skiing and also close to the town center
Awesome place. Good views. Good food. Little pricey at times due to peak season
Lovely family resort with skiing to sit everyone. Great views as well
Great place to ski
Great day of Skiing. Home Town Hill with Home Town Hospitality
This is a great ski resort. I was there for 3 months and I had fun until the very last day. I will come back for sure!
Perfect !
It was a wonderful experience. The beauty of Kimberling with the view from our suite was amazing. The staff are so friendly and helpful. We were even upgraded to the Honeymoon suite! Which was quite ironic as we are on our Honeymoon???? We would not only recommend this as a place to stay, we will be staying here again the next time we pass this way????
Super fun for the family
Awesome place to visit
I love this place! Such a great atmosphere and love coming here in both the winter for skiing and summer for hiking and biking
