REVIEWS OF Christel Lake Lavender IN Kawartha Lakes

Silvio Sales Neto

Really nice place. They even have a full playground and Trampoline onsite. Will go again.

Beautiful grounds, peaceful lake, fun playground, and the friendly owners just made our day. Weekends are very busy, come early to find parking and please respect the closing hours. The owners have worked very hard to grow the lavender and want to share it with us, please keep the grounds clean and protect the flowers. We saw masks and garbage on the ground and ppl not respecting the closing time. We are guests at their property and it’s free admission, let’s keep it that way.

Michael Roberts

First off, the place is beautiful and they have done a great job making a garden of lavender. The place is free and while a proud labour of love it seems on the part of the owners, I'd have almost preferred paying because you really do feel like you are on private property. As indicated in other negative reviews, I did see the owner Gert shout rather rudely at people for touching his lavender plants. For someone who apparently loves people, its surprising. It certainly tainted our experience and left an overall negative impression. So a constructive suggestion for Gert is to work on your public relations and as with everything, nothing is really free in any case, whether its the gas to get there, or the cost to maintain this venture. Charge a nominal fee for the many adults driving the BMW's to the place I saw and keep it free for disadvantaged kids in the city if need be. Then use the funds to hire a couple students. I think you'll be less concerned about a person touching a lavender plant and you will be able to enjoy the kids and people whom you suggest is your main motivation for the venture. As much as we love the environment, we won't be returning sadly.

This was an amazing experience today so quaint gorgeous 56 acres property with a lake that I walked all around. So well manicured lawns plus Christina D was harvesting. The ow res are lovely and funny .! Such a hidden gem ????????????

Smell of Lavender is amazing even at the beginning of August. I enjoyed my time here and the staff are all very friendly. Definitely will come back again next year!

Tiana Feng

This place is NOT as dog friendly, or even people friendly as advertised.

Raj Santhaneswaran

Nice place for family visit.

Cecilia Yu

Visited over the Victoria day weekend and the lavenders are far from blooming. The owner told us they will bloom in July. The lavender patch is quite small compare to bigger farms. Free admission is a good way to attract visitors to spend some money at the gift shop. The lavender oil was our best buy amongst others. As for the owner, he’s neither welcoming nor rude to us but we could sense the attitude in him. Not sure if we want to go back.

David Chiu

Very friendly owner. Nice place to walk around and picnic.

NOT DOG FRIENDLY AS ADVERTISED! Discriminates against large breed dogs especially. Owner is very rude.

Anup Varier

Quaint little lavender farm in the middle of nowhere with a walking trail attend the have and small picnic areas. You could easily spend an afternoon there if you bring your own food and snacks and the kids will love it.

Debora Figueiredo

Adorable family lavender farm with a small lake, Park for kids & lavender themed gift shop Perfect to bring a lunch and hang out !

Sarah TheBully Smith

Beautiful slice of heaven! I got my wedding pictures done here. They turned out amazing and it was a really nice place to relax. Highly recommended

Rita Kennedy

Great place family fun

Leo To

Nice and spacious with beautiful scenery

TERRIBLE EXPERIENCE. The owner of this place is racist, rude, and absolutely one of the most unpleasant people I’ve ever met in my life. My family took pictures for 10minutes and he then came to yell at us for “taking too many pictures” and said we were taking too many pics of ourselves. He then threatened to kick us off the property, call the cops and yelled at us when we asked what we did wrong. No one should ever be treated like this and it is absolutely disgusting the way the owner treats the visitors. Don’t waste your time and don’t support a business that treats people like this.

Sabrina

Very pretty. Lovely walk by the lake.

Musa Magalhães

It's a shame to say that this place is good for kids. The owner is extremely rude with children and complains all the time. It would be a beautiful place to go if that sir was friendly. I don't recommend it if you have kids.

Mousumi Saha

I wasnt impressed. If u stay near by...it would be good as a picnic spot to stay for few hours.

Ângela Diniz

Beautiful! Very nice place to visit and take pictures among the lavanders. The owners are so nice and welcoming, for sure a place to visit again.

Jim Huang

Very nice to be here. The owner super nice, no ticket required.

esma boztas

It's def. a beautiful place. But, one of the owners is quite rude:/ i really enjoyed my time, but at the end, he got super rude that i forgot about the enjoyment...

It was a rainy day but the host really made us feel like home.

Justail Petgrove

One of the better lavender fields I hv seen. It is worth the trip.

Jean Philippe François

We went there in a Sunday and had a magnificent time. The lavender field is not that big but it's very beautiful. We had some salads for lunch if some third party service that was there. The kids playground is nice and well conserved. I will not give 5 stars because one of the owners, one old gentlemen, all the time was being picky and grumpy with any kids that crossed his path. It seems that he is not kid friendly at all. His wife, who runs the gift shop is an awesome lady. I would definitely go back there but will try to avoid him at any cost.

M M

This place is amazing. A lavender farm with a lake. Only an hour drive from downtown Toronto. There is also a good playground which my kids enjoyed so much. You can also have a picnic by the lake where you can reserve a table. The owner is super nice as well as he would guide you where to park your car and he would make a conversation while you wait in line to get in to their gift shop.

Nandhini Ravichandran

Beautiful place to picnic and just enjoy nature... Christel and Gert are wonderful warm hosts... Perfect place for a relaxing day out!

Gary Yip

Beautiful property! Lots of lavender to see. You can really hear the bees at work. Didn't experience any of the issues others have noted thankfully.

Bo W

Beautiful lavender plants and peaceful country. Walking around the small lake and enjoying a cup of coffee.

The place is beautiful and quiet!!! The products fantastic!!! Great quality essential oil, the best lavender infused honey I have ever tried!!! I am trying now their shampoo and conditioner... It is totally worth it to deviate those 5 kms from the main road... I will keep going back for more products for sure!!!

Spent 1+ hours here in the morning. It's a pretty good outing activity. The owner is nice, it's a hobby for them to grow the various types of Lavender for visitors to see, smell and enjoy for free. We spent some money in the gift shop to show the support.

Olya Platonova

What a wonderful place to visit!!! We went for a tour ride free of charge where we were shown all different varieties of lavender and around the lake. The air is very aromatic, and the owners were plesantly charming. We will definitely come back next time. Thank you!

Anandu Krishna

Very rude customer service, do not expect a polite treatment! You’ve got better places to visit for sure !! Plus there is not a thing to really see in there, I don’t know what has he buried under the soil, that he wanted us out for taking the camera out of my bag. Such a psycho! Not for families to visit !

Found at the end of a short stretch of dirt road, this really is a lovely little oasis of tranquillity. There are about a dozen long lines of lavender plants that fall away down a hillside towards a small lake, (<10acres). Each line is clearly labelled with the name of its variety. (I didn't know there were so many varieties of lavender, and there are many more than we saw). If you called ahead, as we did, and made an appointment during the week, you are likely to have the whole place to yourselves and be given a personalised little tour. We were taken in a golf cart around the lake and were lucky enough to see an otter, bullfrog tadpoles and a turtle on our tour, as well as a multitude of birds. There are a few pieces of playground equipment for children to play on, trout in the lake that you can fish for free and a small gift shop with very reasonably priced items. There are various lavender infused jams, pouches of lavender flowers, lavender oil, (imported, not made by the farm), lavender teas, local Artisans work – including quilts, jewellery and other arts and crafts of various sorts and of course lavender plants. The owners are rightly proud of their success which has been come by, by hard work and experimentation for several years . They are knowledgeable and friendly. At weekends there tend to be more people so a personalised experience is more difficult to obtain. The ideal time of year to visit is from mid to end of June onwards, through until mid to end August.

#stopasianhate I wished we could have enjoyed the beauty of nature versus encountering the ugliness of people. I had read online reviews warning of the male owner of this farm and his rude, aggressive behaviour, berating children, yelling at visitors. But I always give people the benefit of the doubt and I hoped the incidents were aberrations because there were other good comments; so I left the kids at home and drove an hour to visit the farm, buy things at the gift shop and take some photos with my two best friends who I had not seen in months. Within minutes of us arriving, the owner drove up in a golf cart while my friends were posing for photos. He asked which one of us was the professional photographer. We laughed, thinking he was joking since we were snapping photos on our mobile phones, and we pointed to one friend. When we explained that we were friends enjoying a special day out together and not professional photographers (who I assume must book and pay a fee), he accused us of lying and proceeded to treat us with such appalling condescension and anger. We were shocked by his hostility. “Don’t give me that face,” he growled. “Next you’re going to tell me you’re cousins.” (The three of us are Asian.) Another family with a baby watched him accost us and approached us with concern to make sure we were okay. The owner circled back in his cart and asked if we were giving them our “sob story.” I believe in supporting local and taking care of our community but I was taught to treat others with respect. I try to respond to nastiness with kindness and to turn the other cheek; but no one deserves to be spoken to with such disdain. While we understand the owners may have challenges dealing with those who abuse the rules, the solution is not to turn around and abuse anyone and everyone else. We should not support or tolerate abusive behaviour in our community -- this pattern of behaviour continues when we say nothing and others continue to be victimized. I am sorry that others have had bad experiences at this farm too, including those who are people of colour, according to reviews, and I ignored their voices. I would never want another human to endure this kind of disrespect for any reason, which is why I am sharing this story. Especially with a rise of anti-Asian sentiment in Canada, it is our responsibility to stand up to attitudes and actions that go against this country's values — or else what is the world we're creating for the next generation?

Christel.Lake Lavender Farm is an amazing place to visit. Lavernders are gorgeous with welcoming and pleasant view. The owner is warm and chatty. The gift shop is a good size and lavender items are reasonable! Mango lavender jam is a wow! I should have gottwn a bigger size! My family had a pleasant and relaxing visit today! We will definitely coming back!!

The Sgidy!

It was a pleasure meeting the owner ...he made our day ..such a nice place to enjoy with family ...and walk around the lake . Buy some made item from gift shop too

Nice little lavender farm. Worthy of visiting.

The fields were ok. Not a large field just few shrubs of lavender. Male owner of the place seems rude and grumpy. Other staff and the lady at the shop was nice tho.

Melissa Lem

NOT FRIENDLY! PREJUDICE TO HUMANS AND DOGS! WOULD GIVE NEGATIVE STAR RATING! We were all planning to enjoy a hot day outdoors with some ice cream and go home with plants purchased from the gift shop. DO NOT SUPPORT THE BUSINESS! They did not make us feel welcomed regardless of their “OPEN” sign outside. We arrived around 3:30pm on a Sunday and there were max 6-8 other guests who were leaving. We had called and check the website last week prior to our arrival but DON’T BELIEVE THE FALSE ADVERTISEMENT! We had driven about 2 hours to visit this establishment with our dog(s). There were 8 humans and 5 dogs in our group. Each pair came in a separate car so we could all be friendly strangers for all they know. We held our respective well-behaved dog(s) on leash sitting quietly, no barking, no playing, no rolling. We made sure they did their business by the parking lot before entering the farm. We were being civil, standing about 100-200m from the flowers and 300+m from any other families or guests who were on the other side of the trees down by the lake. The owner was a slob, barefoot, and rudely approached us. He asked us if we were a part of a dog walking group or something. We didn’t know how to answer because we were a little thrown off. He says 1 dog is ok but 4 is too much and told us to leave. He kept repeating “It’s not me…” but instead, that it was other people who won’t be comfortable with our dogs being there *pointing to the Doberman, and then to the next larger dog there*. We told him we would just get a couple photos and leave. He was reluctant but gave us a 15 min limit. As he walked away, he mutters to other employees “That’s a Doberman”. He clearly depicted us as a group of visible minorities and discriminated us from the get go. As our other friends arrived, he told them to stay away from “those 4 dogs” and never mentioned they had a time limit. He kept driving around in his golf cart watching us like a hawk. He finally realized all of us are together so he drove up telling us our time is up, and forcing us off the property. He was giving us so much attitude while one of the guests just wanted to get one last photo with her mother, no dogs.

Lisa Chien

Decided to bring my mom out to visit the Lavender farm as the season is ending and left my dog at home after reading various reviews here. Unfortunately, it was also an unpleasant visit for us for the most part. We were the 2nd group visiting the property when we arrived, and we didn't feel like we were acknowledged at all, as the male owner drove off in his cart providing a group a tour of the area, so we decided to walk around the field ourselves. By the time we returned to the gift shop we were contemplating on purchasing one of the lavender flowers sitting on the table outside, but as we wanted to pick it up the male owner yelled and was not happy we had touched the lavender we were going to purchase, for whatever reason it was. It caught me by surprise as we've seen their great service attending the other customers. It was quite an uncomfortable experience for the both of us. Following that I decided to visit the gift shop, which had made my experience there a bit better. I was able to chat with the female owner who was extremely friendly and amiable. For this I gave the 2 stars. If all the owners of an establishment are friendly, approachable, and trusted visitors, I would give it more stars. For those deciding to go, July is the best time for full bloom.

It's a good place to go for lavender

Cato Liu

Excellent place to visit for all ages. It's free (under 10 people) and offers a decent amount of things like the lavender fields, pond, picnic tables, playground, trampoline, and hammock. The owners are super friendly and have a gift shop too. July is the best time to visit but it's great during the rest of summer too.

Our family went there last weekend and it's a very nice lavender farm. The owner are very nice and friendly. No entrance or parking fee. There's also a playground for kids, a mini lake and picnic table so you can have picnic close to the lake. You can also buy lavender products in the gift shop. Definitely my family will go back there to buy lavender soap.❤️????

Beautiful place

RAFAEL SILVEIRA

I've been there 2 weeks ago. Beautiful place, lady owner and "cafeteria" people are super nice and friendly. But the gentleman owner ruins the place, the way he treats kids is unpleasant. He kept nagging and telling them to behave like adults, so that they wouldn't disturb the peace and quiet of others, not realizing he was the one doing it. Others were looking embarrassed as no one expects to see children being treated that way. It's a shame for all the others involved in the business. I feel sorry for them because I've already told about my experience to other couples who have kids and they're not going there for sure.

Beautiful! Lots of space for my toddler to run around and explore. There's even a little playground with slides and swings. A trampoline and hammock was also present. Owners very kind and welcoming. Gift shop has a lot of lavender themed items. Can't wait to visit again!

Anand Abraham

Beautiful property to go for a picnic. The owners are fantastic. We went as a group of 25 people early in the season and even though the lavender wasn’t in bloom, it was beautiful and everyone enjoyed it.

Kevin Nguyen

Very friendly owners and beautiful lavender bushes! They also have other amenities such as a lake, picnic tables, and a small playground for kids. Make sure to book online to reserve a spot before coming.

Keith Chau

Super friendly owner. Relaxing place. Beautiful lavenders.

Kerry LaiFatt

I STRONGLY DO NOT RECOMMEND The male owner is extremely rude and condescending. Within 5 minutes of being in the field we were berated. Never have I ever been treated like this by a stranger. Don't waste your gas to get here.

Katarina Dubenova

What a place to visit!!! Tranquility and peace that you will be surrounded by when you visit Christel lake is met with the kindness and hospitality of the owners Gert and Christel. Whether you take a walk , hitch a ride with Gert in a golf cart or decide to have a picnic you will leave having a great experience. Oh and while you are there do not forget to visit their little gift shop full of great lavender inspired gifts.

Really nice folks and a peaceful relaxing property

Excellent experience! Very nice and friendly owner! The lavender farm and its private lake are really lovely and relaxing especially at this time. Thank you for letting us have a wonderful time at your farm. My family and I had so much fun!

Fatimah Shiah

These are the kindest most humble people opening their private sanctuary so others have a place to come with their family and loved ones. Please respect the grounds and do not walk on the lavenders when you come visit; they work hard to maintain the beauty that soo many are able to enjoy. Thank you for all you do it does not go unnoticed. ❤

It was a great pleasure visiting this Lavender farm. Gert and Christel were both friendly and helpful. My wife and I were very pleased with Gert's hospitality. He offered us a tour-ride and showed us all different Lavender species. Christel helped us pick the right Lavenders and the gifts. Overall, it was a great experience! Thanks Gert and Christel.

The place by itself is nice and beautiful. The Lady over the phone too. But the owner (husband) ruined our Canada day. We went 30 min before they closed and we had a chat with the owner (coming from Romania) for a few min. At the beginning he seemed nice and just wanted to make sure we are not professional photographers. When it was close to 5 pm, he came to the group of people and let us know we have 5 more min. My husband went immediately to their store so we could support their local business. I went with the stroller towards the lake as I want just for a few sec. to see it. The old owner came towards other people saying 3 more min. And they screamed and yelled at me HOW MANY TIMES DO I NEED TO REPEAT, YOU NEED TO LEAVE NOW, "Don't argue with me just leave, this is our home" ?! I was surprised from his tone of voice and yelling in front my baby? Sounded like he had some mental issues (sorry for him). In the end we just left without buying anything as I told my husband waiting in the line just to leave!

Great place. Very nice owners.

One of my absolute favourite places in Ontario! The owners are lovely, and cultivate a beautiful variety of lavender. Once you've finished wandering the grounds (where there's a stunning pond, as well as children play sets), the gift shop sells my favourite lavender products. Wonderful place, highly recommend!

Malisa Caprio

Fantastic. Wonderful little place with so much beauty to admire. Owners are very friendly and welcoming. The place smells phenomenal!!!. My son loves LAVENDER he suffers from anxiety and we were able to purchase a sachet filled with his favorite! French. I prefer Spanosh Lavender but enjoyed the many different variety. Definently will come back.

Jenny L

free parking, no entrance fee. christel lake lavender has a variety of lavender types, owners were nice. there is also a nice lake you can walk around. There is a nice gift shop you can check out as well. please be respectful to the owners and rules as they are put in place for a reason, unfortunately within a 5 minute timeframe, I witnessed two people crossing the lavender columns which can damage the plants (shakes head).

Alejandro gonzalez

Xio Salinas

Lovely little lavender field, owners are super friendly. An awesome place to relax.

S Joshua

Beautiful field of different types of lavender. The owners are so generous allowing free entrance and free walks between the rows (unlike other lavender farms who require paid admission). They did not mind us taking pictures or sitting by the field to enjoy the view. Gift shop is excellent! I found some lovely gifts there for loved ones. ???? One thing I’d say is: not recommended for people with small children as the flower rows are so delicate and the place is too small for children to run around.

Scratch your car on a gravel road to get there. Then let the smarmy, self-righteous owner show you some barely-there lavender and berate foreigners. Take a miss on this one.

A beautiful place (due to weather lavendar is behind normality). Has a playground, hammock, tire swing with picnic tables). Free entrance with free parking. Nice gift shop

Nice place couples are very kind and cool

(Translated) The place is beautiful, but lavender only blooms in July. (Original) O lugar é lindo, mas a lavanda só floresce em julho.

Carla Upchurch

Charming older couple with a wonderful property off a country road. They have a small lake and welcome fur babies and humans for a visit to run beside the lavender blooms. They have a small gift shop with various lavender products and plants for purchase as well; including English and French lavender plants. Parking and the visit to the property is free.

RUDE LYING DOGIST FARM OWNER We came here with our dogs cause they are advertised as dog-friendly (check their website) and we confirmed it via the phone prior to our arrival. We had 4 dogs between the 6 of us. We were just by the parking lot waiting for 2 more people to arrive before we were rudely ambushed by an older shoeless man telling us we can’t go in with our dogs. He says he loves dogs and this place is indeed “dog-friendly” but people might be scared having 4 dogs around and especially when they look like this *points to the Doberman* and rudely said we have 15 minutes before having to leave the property. There were no others in sight. He policed around the whole time and warned people (with their dogs) to not come near us. Those people were actually the friends we were waiting for. He found out they were with us and told them they only had 15mins. He came around as we were about to leave and said “your 15mins is up” while clapping loudly while my friend only wanted a picture of her and her mom without her dog. This was a terrible experience. It was blatant breed discrimination and being a group of visible minorities and POCs I can’t help but feel discriminated against based on the way we looked.

Absolutely gorgeous place a must to visit this peaceful place for every family. We were planning to visit this Lavender farm for a long time but always busy so when we finally found some time to visit ,we found out we came after hours. The owner was was so nice, he stopped his work (cutting grass) opened the store for us so we could buy few lavender's products and gave us a tour around the lake. Now we know we have to back there next year beginning of July when the lavender will be blooming again. Thank you Sir for the tour and sharing your knowledge with our family. This beautiful lavender farm is a must see! I have visited a number of times to enjoy the kind hospitality of the owners, the wonderful scenery and property, and of course - the many varieties of lavender. Gert and Christel, the owners, will make you feel welcome each and every time, as they invite visitors to stroll their grounds, relax by their like (Christel Lake!), and learn about all of the benefits of lavender. While you're there, visit the quaint gift store, where you'll find all kinds of original and interesting lavender products available. For a relaxing and informative experience, and for the kindness and charm of the owners, this place is a gem!

margot giessen

Peaceful and going around the pond was relaxing stroll. The shop was heavenly....the scents!!! Easy to spend money but these are crafts made by various members in the community and they're well made. The soap wow. The lavender, Cherry and berries jam is to die for. Come and buy some before they run out.

Had a bad experience here as a visitor. I visited this place with family last weekend. The website promised a welcoming experience. As soon as I parked and got down and said hi to the Gert the host, he started complaining. He did not give any information or suggest anything. My daughter asked him if he could give her a ride in the golf cart and he said no to the kid and went off in his empty golf cart. My mother-in-law had a leg sprain and had trouble walking but Gert did not care. My daugther was taken aback. We asked him if we could take the empty picnic table in the shade and he complained that we should move the garbage can there. We asked where the washroom was and he said it was in the house and to see him just to get to the washroom. After finishing our lunch I went back to check with him for washroom and instead met his wife. His wife Chrystel was a nice lady and gave me information and said to use the washroom. She told me where it was. As soon as I started going to the washroom, Gert drives in his golf cart and asks me why I was wandering on his property. I told him I had checked with his wife but he said, no, I had to check with him. I told him he was talking with other people, so instead I asked his wife. After that, he was refused to talk and asked us to leave. Gert also caused a scene while we were leaving. (Probably does not like the educated, city types of folks.) Quite a strange experience ! If you don't want people to visit, don't put up a website asking for them to visit. Chrystel, you were very nice and I hate to bring you into this, but you and Gert are a team. Gert, this is misleading advertising and wasting everyone's time. Complete waste of time and quite a rude host.

Awesome lake and quaint gift shop. Play area with play equipment for children. Owners are pleasant and super friendly. Small lavender fields but still worth the trip to see. Admission is free.

The place is nice , not much of lavenders in their garden and watch out for that old guy owner who is rude and not kid friendly.

Clyde V.

Great place to spend a lazy afternoon and have a picnic. The lavender farm in all honesty is nothing special compared to the sunflower farms we been too. But it's still soothing to walk through the lavender plants and smell the fresh lavender. The property is well maintained. They have a playset and trampoline which is fun for the kids. And after burning all that energy you picnic by one if the tables around the small lake there. The visit is free but we picked up a few things from the gift shop because why not support local. Dogs are allowed too as we got to bring our 4 month pup. The owner couple was very nice to us so not sure why there are some reviews saying otherwise.

Visited this place today and we had a great time! The lavender wasn’t fully bloomed yet, but the property is so beautiful. Many varieties of lavender to be seen and a lovely walk around Cristel Lake. Free admission is lovely and it’s never crowded since it’s appointment only. The gift shop smells wonderful and is full of local artisan products made from lavender at the farm. Everything was priced very reasonably and the owners are extremely kind. Definitely make a visit here and make a purchase from the gift shop :)

What a wonderful visit. Gert took my friend and I on a tour of the property in his golf cart. Just beautiful I could spend hours just relaxing in a chair. Thank you so much.

I was very pleased with our visit. It was off season but we very warmly greeted. I definitely plan to go again in July when everything is in bloom. Thank- you again.

Small but a pretty setting

Gorgeous place. So peaceful. The owners are super nice.

this place beats any lavender farms in Ontario. Free entrance, free parking, so we spent some money at their gift shop to show support. Beautiful farm and has great space for a picnic as well. Lovely owners!

Ainsley King

Sadly came too late in the season for the full bloom but it was still very lovely. You cannot pick your own lavender which is understandable for a small farm like this. Owners are nice and the gift shop has lots of options to bring lavender home with you

Very nice time there . Not rushed at all . Our dog was allowed to come with us also.

Nice Lavender field beside a lake. A relatively large gift shop.

Great little hidden gem. Quiet place, good walk around the lake and the main attraction, the lavender farm is gorgeous.

Lovely place! We were a bit late in the season so the lavender had lost a bit of its colour but still beautiful. The couple who runs the farm were so kind. Great place to enjoy nature, walk around the pond or picnic.

We loved watching the lake and walking around it.Not much of crowd and people maintained their distance well.Lavender was looking so beautiful and we have clicked some lovely pics :) Owner is very friendly and kind person. We loved chatting with her.Very prganized person. The little shop has good products from their farm.Car parking and entrance to the place is free.

Thanks Gert and Christel. You were both so friendly and welcoming. My girlfriend and I really enjoyed the tour-ride around the lake and seeing the different kinds of Lavender. It was a great pleasure visiting your Lavender farm.

We arrived and we did not realize we had to make an appointment which was fine and we told one of the owners we just came to support their business and he said “does it look like I need your support” then he proceeded to yell at us and tell us we were trespassing, absolutely disgusting.

M De Guzman

The place had a picnic table, and a playground for kids. They also allow you to walk around their lake. Beautiful place. No entrance fee.

Says dog friendly... but not really though Went today with a few friends and their dogs. As we got out of the car waiting for our other friends to arrive the owner came up to us and said he loves dogs and this place is indeed “dog-friendly” but people might be scared having 4 dogs around and especially when they look like this *points to the Doberman*. We explained that we were there take photos with our dogs he than rudely said we have 15 minutes before having to leave the property. We were the only people in that immediate vicinity. The people by the lake didn’t even notice we were there. He even told another couple who arrived a few mins after us (who were actually a part of our group) to stay away from us. About 15 mins later he circled back around and told us our time was up and we needed to leave. I do NOT recommend this place. Don’t advertise “dog friendly” if you don’t plan on being inclusive to all dog breeds.

Nice place to visit. We could smell the lavender from the blowing breeze. Free entry. It's also close by the lake. Great place to take pictures and enjoy the sun.????

Such a beautiful and peaceful spot on a small lake surrounded by rolling countryside. And of course there are the purple shades among the greenery of the lavender plants and the wonderful smell! There is a nice gift shop to check out as well! I wish they were open a little more frequently!

Very friendly owners!

Visited this place before. Nothing much to do but it is free anyways. Agree with the grumpy host part. You are better off visiting a neighbourhood park.

What a hidden gem! Went to this beautiful farm last week and I was so wonderfully surprised! It is not a big farm but it is very well-maintained with different types of lavender in the field. What a delightful experience. The owners are very welcoming and they don't even charge admission. The gift shop has so much to offer and the price is very reasonable. Last but not least, I love the lavender ice-cream - so fresh and so delightful! What a treat to have been there! I will definitely be back!

Cute little place run by a lovely couple. Loved the farm and the grounds around it. Loved the little shop more.

My husband and I happened upon Cristel Lake Lavendar Farm. A beautiful place to celebrate our 35th wedding anniversary. The lavendar fields were gorgeous and the walk around the lake and the property was so very tranquil and romantic. Thank you Gert and Cristel for making such a beautiful space and taking the time to talk to us. Your knowledge and passion while talking with us about the different varities of lavendar plants, it was apparent how much you enjoy what you do. In a world focused on monetary gains my husband and I were really touched by your acts of generosity in allowing people to enjoy your farm at no cost. We hope to return again with a picnic to enjoy the serenity of Cristel Lake and the lavendar fields.

Rolanda Mcleod

Beautiful place! Friendly! A nice detour coming home!

Very nice place to visit! Beautiful property and the place smells great.

Totally agree with the rudeness of the owner. We were checking out the lavender fields before concluding with a visit to the gift shop. However the owner berated us for not visiting the gift shop first and could not stop complaining about it. There was no sign telling visitors that it is what we should do. It would have been a nice visit to the farm had it not been his rudeness.

Mig Really

Nice little spot, lots of lavander merchandise made by local artisan's

A quiet relax lake for a short walk. A lot of trees surrounded the whole lake, flat and easy walk. However, a lot of mosquito; dont forget to bring the insect spray.

Will Seto

Nice place for a picnic. Nothing super fancy or anything. It's beside a small lake with a trampoline and playhouse. There is no admission fee but I do suggest reserving a picnic table ahead of time. It's very nice of the owners to open up their place for visitors for free so please be respectful.

Elena

Very rude staff. My friends and I visited on a Saturday and we’re taking pictures for about 10 min when an old guy in a golf cart came to move us out of the lavender field because we were taking pictures for “one hour” and needed to give others the opportunity. There were 3 other people behind us and they were taking pictures in the other area. I don’t know what guided this bad customer service but definitely did not feel welcomed here and would not come back. The field and the lake were okay but you could go to other farms for a better lavender field and nicer staff.

khandaker sajjad

love the place. Superb behavior
