DESCRIPTION

You will be able to see all the opinions of real people who buy the products and services of Secwepemc Museum and Heritage Park (Tourist Attraction) in the territory of Kamloops (Canada).

As of day the business gets a score of 4.4 stars out of 5 and this rating has been based on 119 reviews.

As you can see its rating is high, and it's founded on a very large number of feddbacks, so we can be quite sure that the assessment is quite faithful. If many people have bothered to leave their feddback when they've done well with the service, it works.

You know that we don't usually bother to write feddbacks when they are correct and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or incidence...

This Tourist Attraction corresponds to the category of Museum.

REVIEWS OF Secwepemc Museum and Heritage Park IN Kamloops

Vintage Rider

Informative with an interesting if dated video. Enjoyed the walk to the historical sites. Depressing as all these are as you realize what was done to the indigenous population

Darlene Johnson - DeeJay

Real authentic historical pieces that commemorates the history of the Secwepemc valley! A must see!!!

Steven Haylestrom

I was here for the Kamloops Pow Wow it was great. The shows and costumes FANTATSIC. The food so so. But overall very good.

Mickael Maddison

This is an amazing place to learn about and better understand the history of the local first nations. I was completely blown away by the tour and hope more people will take the time to explore this important subject.

Maude Stephany

An excellent place to visit and learn about the history of the Indigenous people of this area.

Avoid this place like the plague. Rudely greeted and told they were closed and had to leave. So i went to check my map to see where I was and told no, leave right now I told you. In 6 months of travel, the worst I have seen by far. Would rate a zero not a 1

Aaron Walch

This is a great place to Learn slot about our heritage. Come and learn!

Stefan Baldes

Building is beautifully made. I was there for Chrome in the Grass. A hot rod and classic car show. Kinda like Hot Night in the City. Coming up this weekend as always the first weekend in August. This year it is 25 years old. So if you love cars there will be 6 blocks of them on Victoria street in KAMLOOPS.

Christine Petersen

Nice setup though small. The tour guide was awesome.

The residential school placed on the edge of what used to be their winter village is one example is the horrendous injustice these original people faced, and are still healing from. I highly recommend visiting. We all need to be educated in this history.

Stacey Lynn Manywounds

Super neat

Cristal Brazeau

Couldn't ask for a better excuse to have amazing fun.

Jyoni Tetsurō Shuler

Overall, this museum is incredibly informative on Secwepemc culture, traditions, and history and the outdoor Heritage Park is extensive in its interpretation of the area. There is even an archeological site of an old winter village that you can walk through, along with recreated pit houses from different time periods. Highly recommended, and super close to downtown Kamloops!

Donovan Mutschler

This museum is definitely worth the visit and the time to take in all that it has to offer. There is lots of information to read on the history of the people and the residential school. I could have used more information on some of the artifacts in the main museum, as well as some parts of the outdoor village. Heads-up to travellers: I was surprised to find out when I arrived that they do not accept Visa as payment.

Jason Thompson

Very knowledgeable and was a learning experience. Thank you

Secwepemc territory is my home.

Adrian Lewis

The amount of info was a lot, buy some books to take home :)

Megan Cary

While there was a ton of information to read, I expected more of a tour instead of all individual reading. The intro video was also very old and hard to understand through the poor quality. Still 100% recommend, I just wished we could see more of the old school grounds and have a tour guide

Kris Middleton

My daughter liked it.

Karen Holman

Second day of Kamloopa pow-wow! Totally awesome, as usual. Well-run with organized parking, security, first aid, golf cart shuttles from parking to the arbor, concession food areas, and a variety of great vendors. The noon grand entry was huge, with the entire arbor filled by eye-dazzling dancers of all ages. Seeing the tiny tots take the grass to dance their hearts out gives one hope for the future. The drumming galvanizes anyone with a heartbeat :) A summer essential!

Exceptional museum. As someone "educated" by "christian" brothers I empathise but your story must be told, remembered and never forgiven. There is only one way of life and that is your own.

Andrea

Awesome place for a cultural visit. It is very afordable and it has a valuable and imformative content. The downside is that it close quite early.

As a local resident, I can't believe this was my first time here! Neat self-led museum with lots of information, displays and local history. I took my two sons, aged 1 and 3, and had no problems navigating the museum with a full size stroller. I would definitely come again as there is so mich fine print to take in about Secwepemc history and culture. One trip just isn't enough!!

It's an amazing learning experience with exceptional staff. I highly recommend it to any tourists passing through the city - even if its just a day!

Very interesting museum.

a great place to visit and to learn about the Secwepemc people. I especially like the pit houses outside. there is a lot of information about plants, animals, traditions, culture... and so much more. the guides are passionate about the content and open to all questions. I have been a few times now and each time I take away something new. each guide has different stories so it is never the same tour which is wonderful. Check out the website to book a tour or to find out when the museum is open. there is a lot of history here and it is a good idea to check it out.

Edward George

Great history love it

Darrin Wolfleg

Now I really think I got hacked...I know I've never been here. But I think it's a good place so bring your family.

Excellent Powwow but crazy to get in and out of area. Need to have a smoother process for parking and exiting site.

Erin Lutz
