If you truly want to get away from it all...this is the place to go...no cell no internet connections...love it!!

Don't bother camping in any of the campsites away from the boat launch during Mosquito season, it does not look like it on the map but they are all next to SWAMP not lake, some of the worst mosquitoes I have encountered and I was a tree planter in lake country for years. We are talking hundreds of bites a day well wearing jeans and a hoodie with the hood up in 30 degree weather.

Ariel Holtz

Gold mine by the waterfall !! Nice trail follows river with a few back country campsites. Connects to Ross lake p.p.

Untold beauty. Have fun exploring!

Surely one of the best kept secrets in the Lower Mainland. The park is amazing, with campsites right on the water. We were there early in the season so the reservoir hadn't been filled yet. Instead it was like a huge delta of rivers and streams to explore - very cool. And all framed by the amazing 360 mountain view from the valley. Strongly recommended. The drive in is one for the patient though. A very long dirt road.

Went fishing on the lower skagit with a friend for the first time this year. Amazing trip, unfortunately the day camping area was closed but we still had easy access from the road to the water and camped on the river bank the two nights and three days we stayed! Only got into small bows but lots of fun and a beautiful place to escape!

I have been going to Skagit Valley for 18 years. I know the place pretty well and I would call it a second home. The Obelisk trail is magnificent, a really short but nice walk to see a little bit of what the woods can offer. The Canadian side has better campgrounds and nicer ranger activities, but the american side has better water and washrooms (the camping sites here are not very good, but free). Fishing is a must, you can get some awesome rainbow trout and you gotta cook 'em on the grill once you get on the shore (you can't use worm lures though!). Wonderful swimming at the boat launch with decently clear water. During off season when the lake is drained its a lot of fun running around and exploring the lake bed. It is quite a drive with sharp rocky roads but well worth it for the incredible scenery and the memories you will make there.

Beautiful spot to camp, fish, swim and enjoy the splendor of BC (and WA!).

Great park, good drive and some awesome views! I would definitely recommend going to check it out if you have the time and a good spare tire! The stop at silver lake along the way is also pretty amazing!!

A paradise on earth. Small Brooks are flowing on the stony river bed. The whole valley is covered with green forest. Thick wood, singing river and whistling ducks will be one's company. You can walk 15 km to reach the end of the jungle trails. Time flows lazily when one holds his fishing rod without much expectations. The washrooms are closed.

Tons of mosquitoes if you go here you need some serious bug spray!!!!!

Beautiful Park, reservable campsites, nice trails into Manning and the summer has great programs that crossover with the North Cascades park.

By far one of my favourite parks! The pictures attached are up Silverdaisy mountain. It has been one of my favourite hikes so far. The trail is in pretty rough shape in some spots, but it adds to the challenge and charm. The rest of the park is also really beautiful and it seems exploring the whole park would take a really long time, but I would recommend visiting it. There is a bit of everything there that would be good for a lot of different people. There is a lot of interesting historical information here and there are rhododendron patches which is quite rare for them to grow naturally in the wild. Did I mention the park is beautiful? If you go make sure you are aware of bears and bring bug spray. There is also no cell reception here, so come prepared and be aware of that in order to ensure your safety. The mosquitos and wasps are the biggest negative to this wonderful park. As long as you let people know where you are going and are prepared with enough food and water so that you can take advantage of all the exploring and different activities the park has to offer.

Great location, though down a long bumpy road to get there. Not a lot of things to do so bring a kayak to play with. Mosquitoes were crazy so bring a Thermacell for your spot.

The skagit River trail is a great long walk to do in spring. It is about 2-3 hours drive from Vancouver. The entire trail is about 10 hours one way. It is best to go half way and turn around and return to where you started. Sumulo Grove is a good place to start as it is beside the highway, there is also a parking lot at the other end as well. If you like camping then doing whole trail is possible in two days as there is campsites at either end of trail. Near the beginning there is an old mine and a rusted old car.

Beautiful and so peaceful. Especially in October great for pictures. A lot of chances see deer, bears few skunks. Holly cross mountain is great! Good hike to the cabin but it's worth it. I get to go all the time I live close to the Skagit valley.

My husband and I lucked out and snagged a riverside tent site in the middle of July. This would have been a perfect spot for anyone with a canoe or kayak -- unfortunately, we weren't able to bring ours. Still, we had a great time in a hammock overlooking the water. There were also plenty of trails nearby, the outhouses were clean, and a ranger came by twice a day to check up on things and to sell firewood if needed.

Terrable up there .government has its claws so dug in up there .with survalence cameras and threts of jail if you trespass on the land .I thought conservation was for us to enjoy nature not keep us out .one spot is gated with rusty tin that my kids almost cut them self's on not very professional or safe if you ask me .they are blocking one free campsite after another .not here did not think Canada would be kicking us out of the woods but he day is here .

Absolutely beautiful lake at the end of a long sandy road... fun drive and worth it!

Jason Verhage

Great campsite, only complaint would be that their was no sand to build castles with for the kids. Otherwise was a great place to camp

Dianne Krause

Love this park!! I've camped at both Ross Lake and Silver Tip... Both are gorgeous... We swam in both Silver Lake and Ross Lake, Ross lake is warmer.. Yes there is lots of mosquitoes, it is the wilderness so bring repellent and toss some sage in your fire if there's no fire ban... And keep your garbage put away, there are lots of bears around.... Great time, will go back this summer

Best Sights Ive Ever Seen In BC. Very Friendly People. Vast Amount Of Wildlife.

Favorite place to be

Rob Gagne (NeddLudd)

This park is so beautiful. Great camping and day use areas. Only a few hours away from Vancouver yet it's the middle of nowhere. Ross Lake is so nice and it's neat being able to just walk across the border into the States without a passport.

The park is absolutely beautiful and Ross Lake is clean and refreshing. The campground at Ross lake is well kept, park operators are hard to find. I did enjoy speaking to the American and Canadian park rangers and they had great activities for kids. It seems like a party campground as it’s 60km down a gravel road. Also the mosquitos were horrible, you can’t stay outside without bug spray and in the sun or else you will be eaten alive. We left a day early because the bugs were so bad even with heavy spray.

Rebecca V

Great place to day or over night camp..great trails, fishing and history here

Danette Massaro

Based on my experience there, is a really nice park to spend one or two days. Exploring the area is a very good activity. Tons of trails and different ways to access to the river make the visit to the park boredom free. At this time, mosquitoes were incredibly annoying and we weren't prepared for them. We had to leave and go get some repellent.

Gerald Hayes

Bring Costco sized mosquito repellent

Absolutely awesome but the mosquitos are out of control towards the end of the summer.... Bring everything you need because the nearest town is hope, BC which is about an hour down the mountain on very rough roads.

Nice place to get away from things. We spend 3 night camping alone at a site next to the river on the road into the park. We were suprised how fast the number of pot holes multiplied after it rained for 2 days. It took us 35min to drive in and 1 1/2 hours to drive out.

We originally booked a three-day camping trip in Ross lake, but we only stayed for one night and came back because the mosquitoes there were really terrible, and the worst thing was that the quality of drinking water was very poor, it looked like yellow and very dirty water.

We booked 3 nights at the group campsite and left the next day. Mosquitoes are crazy; we were eaten alive and no amount of repellent helped. Lake is beautiful but we would never go back because of the mosquito infestation at the site. To top it off my husband spent the last five days in hospital due to a bacterial infection most likely from lake/well water tap at our site.

Epic place, deer, moose, wolves, cougars all potential campsite and river visitors. Wild strawberries grow on the side of the road, and fishing the river is the most fun you’ll have

Doug Drinkwater

I was working with invasive species in a large burn area in the park. The burn affected parts of the Silver Skagit and Centennial trails. This is a tremendously beautiful area; even after a significant wild fire. There are often a lot of bugs; but they do not distract much from the experience.
