This Tourist Attraction belongs to the category of Scenic spot.
I live around the corner from here and I'm shocked that people put their lives at risk (one person has died falling in the falls since I've lived in the area) to walk up to (from below) or walk down (from above) to see this place. The rocks are unstable, there are signs warning of danger and fences to keep people out. In 2017 my buddy who was with the Hamilton Police marine unit had to rescue a family of visitors who got caught on a rock 'island' below a raging torrent below the falls during a flood from a thunderstorm. The fences are there for a reason. Hamilton Fire has to rescue dozens of people every year from our waterfalls. Yes, Hamilton has beautiful waterfalls and incredibly gorgeous trails. Stick to the trails please. Visit the conservation areas - they're amazing. Earlier this summer I saw people splashing in the water and taking selfies... Uh... This is urban water. The watershed was paved over decades ago and most of the water comes from parking lots and all sorts of sketchy places.
Very nice place and awesome hike. There is no clear path to go so we just followed the river until we got to the falls. Safe to swim, but just be careful with the rocks
The trails there is a good work out for me
Awesome! Amazing trail and crazy cool view! Would come again.
Beautiful waterfalls but be careful!
You have to trespass to get to it but otherwise its a really nice place with a couple small waterfalls and a horseshoe waterfall that was about 30 feet tall.
Amazing place, very serene but a good workout to get to
Beautiful falls!!
No parking no way to get down by water fall
Chedoke Park's most popular attraction is it's 289 stair steps. So many keep fit folks are running up and down the steps. Seeing these folks inspired us a great deal. Next is the 2.7km Radial Scenic Trail with access to the University of McMaster. This is a very easy walk for all ages.
????????
One of my favourites ! Easy to get to, when u find out where ur going !
A great day out in the fresh air and beautiful scenery throughout the area. Have been here twice now and have been two different ways. A nice place to take the family but make sure you have the proper footwear as you will be walking and hiking for a while.
Great hiking area
You can’t even get close to the water
Gorgeous trails. Some parts are slippery and dangerously muddy after heavy rainfalls. I suggest only going when the soil is dry.
Awesome place to visit. Challenging a bit to get to main fall but definitely worth every effort. To get there, park at Cliffview park and go down the long stairs. When you get to the Chedoke radial recreation trail, go right, continue down the trail. When you pass golf terrain crossing, there will be fenced area in the woods to the right. Right after the fenced gate, there is a wide opening in the fence. That's your entry spot. Just go upstream and you'll get to the first Waterfall. To get to the main and most beautiful waterfall, you need to pass the first one by climbing either left or right bank. Left bank has a rope to help you climb, but we went right side. Both a little challenging. Hiking shoes recommended but not necessary. We saw a girl in high heels ???? going upstream Lol, not sure how she made it but she did. Again, worth every effort and so rewarding. Beautiful!
You only reach the falls if you go off trail and are with people who have a sense of adventure. Go down the stairs, turn right, up the wooden steps, and then past the fence. It's common sense from that point on. Would say it's about a 40 minute trek in total
Transforming
????????
It's a beautiful place if you're walking by. But it's dangerous and illegal to go down to the bottom. And swimming is really stupid, because the water is full of human sewage. The only reason public health doesn't have a sign marking swimming as dangerous is because they don't have to because it's not a beach!
It wa a good time
You can only find it through secret entrances. Little hard to get to but my 6/4 year olds made it
Place within the core of hamilton, but still close to the nature...full of adventure.... 10/10
It is hard to find where is the entrance . it falls is under the brdge and been looking for half an hour how to get to the bottom but no chance.
These are awesome falls to hike up! Always enjoy myself, and bring a new person every time!
Pretty cool spot to visit. You can see the falls from the top but the view is not that great. You’d have to park by the residential area and climb down for the full view. Climbing down to the base is illegal and you can get tickets if caught. The trail is not easy and is very rugged and slippery. Do make sure you have proper shoes and attires if you intend to climb down. Will not recommend this for children or anyone with mobility issues. Aside from that the scenery is gorgeous and very picturesque. We went there specifically to take a video for our channel and enjoyed the hike.
One of the better falls to go to in Hamilton
These falls are way to small, its like someone opened the tap. Way too small
I love the fact that there are more small rain falls after the rain
Beautiful but can be difficult to access without boots
Great place to go for a hike and take in the view of the falls. However, definitely would not recommend swimming in the water.
Couldn’t find parking .... doesn’t look like I can check it out easily from above either. I’m sure there’s a hidden trail for the locals during the summer but not worth sightseeing /:
Fun and exciting hike and climb with beautiful falls, only reason i didnt give 5 stars is because at the end of the day it is a sewer :/
Interesting place. One of Hamilton's MANY waterfalls. When I was a kid, I used to play at top and bottom of the falls. No one ever got hurt and no one ever defaced the place.
One of the best places to visit
One of my favorite waterfalls in the Hamilton area, but definitely not easy to get to.
beautiful waterfall
Blah. Fake and small
Wonderful Falls Located in Funnel & seinic drive in Hamilton. A beautiful falls but there is no excess to it from the road.
Beautiful hiking trails. Nice water features, dog friendly. Street parking and not overly busy
Absolutely no access to falls from side streets...
Picturesque but not for the physically limited. Very steep climb up and down, not your casual Sunday afternoon walk this place is a definite hike! When I saw very fit men dripping sweat coming up the stairs I knew I was in trouble because I hadn’t gone down half way yet. I sent my son back up the mountain to get the car and drive around to pick me up at the golf club because I was done!
It's not open to the public!
Nice area, great hilltop view of Hamilton & Lake Ontario. The view of the fall itself is partially blocked by trees. There's a pretty long flight of stairs to go from the top to the bottom of the falls. We were not able to find an accessible way to view the waterfall unobstructedly from the bottom though.
Place is amazing, view is insane, but there is no trail to this fall so it's quite hard to get there! You can get there by 'non-official' trail full of rocks and fallen trees
I went during winter and couldnt even go near the falls which was a thin stream
challenging for young kids to get to the falls. watch out for the bylaw officer as you can not go off the path to go directly under the falls.
Difficult to get to, but worth it after a good rain storm, beware the hike from the golf course up to these falls is pretty hard going and there is potential to get hurt so dress accordingly with good boots.
Chedoke Falls is so beautiful and honestly a very fun place to go. The falls itself is hidden at the end of a long rocky path but its totally worth going to. You will have to cross a fence but apparently everyone does. It is quite rocky and you will slip or twist your ankle of you are not careful. Bring good shoes and be careful where you step. Overall it was an amazkng adventure and I would definetly come again.
Alotttt of stairs, we had to come back, as we were looking for the falls only. Preffered for People who love to climb stairs( alottt of stairs) @chedoke park
For hikers who love going to forest and river trails. An amazing place for the nature enthusiasts. Loved this place.
Beautiful place to visit, don't forget your camera
Great for going with kids. Short hike around 20-30 minutes. The hike is not too difficult either. Good getaway for 2 3 hours.
Amazing lookout point, especially for a storm.
I am not certain there is even a path leading to these falls. Well not a marked path. I went here several weeks ago in hopes of finding some local artifacts knowing that their was once a Chonnonton settlement there at one time. Whatever the falls used to be they are not that now and should be named something more akin to water pouring out the mouth of a large underground cement corridor. The area is littered with garbage and there are signs indicating the water is plagued with e-coli. I'd highly recommend not wasting your time hiking off the marked path to see this tragedy.
Nice view
Super cool spot. You're not really allowed down to the falls anymore. People climb the fence. I wouldn't really recommend doing this as it's actually a bit dangerous.
Great trails. Sweet waterfall. Please clean up after yourself. Leave it better than you found it.
Cannot see it. Lots of signs warning of fines if you go down to look at it.
This place is really great to seek some adventure....
Beautiful views but very hard to get to the bottom of the falls
Medium to hard hike but very fun trek for the adventurous! Our dog is very athletic and agile but still needed to be carried at times. To get there, we followed the creek off of the Bruce Trail.
Do visit this place if you're staying in and around Mac
I will try to explain how to reach the falls, if you use this location, after Google shows you have reached drive further and you will find a parking lot on your right. From there you can see stairs down take that till you reach a gap to your right into the trail. Follow the trail and get to the parking lot below which is the parking lot for radial trail alternatively search radial trail parking lot and start walking through that untill you see a way to your right go through to find a broken fence enter that and you will find falls 1 , further trek through the forest to go to falls 2 and 3 .
Great little fall hike, beautiful falls. Cozy little clubhouse for coffee, snacks or beers. If we didn’t have the kids we totally would have watched the game and had some beers and brunch at Chedoke Golf Club.
It's illegal to hike to the falls. Views from above are mediocre at best. If you want waterfalls Tiffany falls is better.
Amazing scenery, great place to go on a hiking date. Doesn't require much skill in terms of climbing to get to the top of the waterfall, and it's definitely worth it! You can easily spend 3+ hours here.
Small beautiful waterfall. NOTE: This location does not have access to the falls as the falls are below the street level. You need to hike upstream by the river. The trails only goes a little bit past the lower Chedoke Falls, bayond that you need to cross the river and might get wet.
You cant touch most of the waterfalls here. After walking too much, you can touch one very small fall.
Beautiful falls, but no parking close and not allowed to swim. Many teenagers have been hurt swinging from a rope thats tighed up high in the tree, so no swimming allowed unless you want a ticket. Nice just to look down at it from scenic road.
Lovely scenic view! Quite difficult to get to, but the view is worth it. Very serene and not crowded with people.
Awesome place to check out. One of the best falls in the area. Just be careful on the rocks and be aware of your surroundings if you go to the bottom. Water conditions change rapidly - a family was recently rescued after flash flooding.
Quiet and beautiful falls. The hike is very difficult but so worth it !
Beautiful place to take pictures!
Ok, I loved this place!! You need to park at the bottom, in the golf, at the end is a parking lot. Then , facing the hill go to your left, when you enter the park, walk 2 min and turn to the right in the second entrance, take the right path and star walking. You’ll find a nice fall , but that’s not it, keep going up , to the left is easier. About 10 minutes and you will be there.
This is not a waterfall to go out of your way for. At least not if you are going to see it from above. If you can walk up from below, I am sure this rating would be 5 star! It would be super cool to look up at!
Beautiful little hike to this waterfall.
Absolutely beautiful waterfall. A little hard to access as the trail isn't really marked. If you can find it though it's well worth the effort. The good part about that is, is that it's off the beaten path, and therefore not crowded like most places. Definitely one of the nicest waterfalls in whole area. Very enjoyable. Definitely recommend it.
Dangerous but beautiful hike
Poor view. Not good at this time of the year. March.
Its absolutely beautiful! Need to experience if you haven't just be safe journeying down
I hike hear almost daily. It's a difficult hike for those without proper footwear and those who don't exercise often. Arounnd the fall time wheb thibgs get wet and slippery you may literally get your hands dirty. Be prepared. Beautiful scenery. Traffic is drowned out for the most part which allows you to hear most of the surrounding nature.
Spent quite a few hours walking and climbing. Great pathways and bridges.. make sure you carry water and if you plan to find the water falls. Prepare to get wet. It's a beautiful place.
It's a nice fall, love the hiking to get to it.
Definitely worth the trip there. Very peaceful and was a respite from the otherwise hot day. I wish people would take their trash back with them. It was sad to see empty bottles and beer cans lying around. I get it that it's a great spot to chill out, so please, don't leave your trash behind. Leave it cleaner than you found it right? Anyway, super cool place. Definitely check it out.
A small place... But is very serene and beautiful...
Very good place for hiking
Cant get down and look at the waterfall from the bottom. Says no trespassing.
Great waterfall despite the water quality issues. I've been hiking down there since I was young.
Sneaky little hike
Great place to relax
Smells like sewage and detergent. Enjoy the view of the suburban artificial waterfall, the hike while nice reminds me both of humber creek and a toilet bowl. The site is littered with trash and the water comes from a combined sewage and storm drain. Avoid this place its disgusting and toxic, we have already damaged the ecosystem enough.
I’m sure these falls are beautiful if you were allowed to go and see them.... there was a ‘waterfall enforcement’ officer standing at the guard rail above the falls. There is no ‘legal access’ to go down there. You will be charged with trespassing if you’re caught. It seems as if you’d have to hop the fence and venture down a steep hill. Although this hill clearly has a path, and I would have loved to go down there, we didn’t due to the officer. This is nature. How can you block off this area and say no trespassing? How about a ‘use at your own risk’ people come here to go for a hike and see a beautiful creation. It really sucked driving an hour and a half to just turn around...
Great falls and a great experience quite the hike to get there but amazing all together ????
Somehow I’m too interesting to go and see Falls , even winter but before snow fall, first we went to the Tew’s fall , it was awesome and clean but no washroom inside so that is big problem , so last week we went to Chedoke fall , we disappointed because everything covered , we couldn’t see anything, these are those pictures I took it ????
Fenced off now.
Super scenery. Lots of parking spots available
Cold coffee terrible service. We pay for our orders I don't like too be served the left overs of the day.
Well maintained Park with nice trails. Chedokee falls are small but beautiful
There are two levels of the falls, a lower section and an upper section. The large sections with the stratification of the rocks can be seen from the top road. Visiting it from the bottom is illegal and you can get a hefty fine visiting the site. Climbing to the lower section doesn't take long while the large "actual" Chedoke falls takes 30-45 minutes to get to. Distances aren't long at all but the terrain is extremely uneven and challenging for some people so wear proper footwear and clothing. As you can see from the photos the falls are also fed by a storm drain which causes the water to have a pungent smell in stagnant areas as well as a fair bit of trash. Still, it is a nice site to see with the rock formations and vegetation.
Lovely=
Not beautiful place
Charming place, loved visiting the place
No access to the falls
There is only a look out to this fall. The hiking trail is nice
Rope rescue
Really awesome views with a river and falls the paths are great. I would consider the path to be a medium to hard difficulty. You can walk along the stream and jump across rocks. The water is from the road runoff so do not splash around in it too much. There are also sections that are off the beaten path.
Beautiful hiking spot
The scene is amazing over there
Not much of a view. We were in the area, but the only good view belongs to the houses that back on to it.
Fun, steep decline and incline, touchable waterfall, worth the 1 hour drive to check it out
There is no way to came closer to the waterfall.
Give yourself at least a couple of hours for this one. May need more time if someone in your party has bad knees or is out of shape. This is a great stop if you plan on doing any sight seeing in Hamilton. The park connects you to the Bruce side trail and takes you along a beautiful hillside layered with mature trees and a variety of fauna. It doesn't take too long until you reach the colorful rock face of the escarpment, and enjoy the pools and running water of the falls. Bring hiking footwear if possible, makes it easier! Also recommend bringing a travel pack, clothing layers (in case weather changes), snacks and water. Makes a good date idea!
It was beautiful
If you are planning to go there to swim, definitively there is NOT a place to go. There is a high level of Escherichia coli ( E. coli), in other words, fecal contamination. Don't let your dog drink that water. But the climbing between the rocks was radical.
Great walking trail.
Sounded ok, couldn’t figure out how to actually get to it
Nice hike off the trail. Google maps take ypu to the top of the water fall. In order to hike it you will need to park at the bottom and hike up the river bed.
Amazing hike, totally recommended
This one is NOT for beginner hikers/waterfall chasers. There are a couple ways to get here. 1) Follow the trail that starts at Dundurn St. downtown and hike about an hour or so. I met a couple that took this route, I've never done it myself. 2) Park your car somewhere close to the top of the falls (Senic Dr area) and then follow the fence from the bridge all the way to the end, taking note of all the danger signs. You'll find a hole stretched open at the bottom where hikers climb under. Again, I do NOT recommend this path for beginners or anyone who is not a strong climber. From there you'll basically scale down the side wall of the gorge. Hikers have kind of left a recognizably beaten path but for the most part you'll use any rock climbing skills you have and stay close to all trees in case you lose your footing. ALSO a good idea to bring a first aid kit and gloves as I cut my hand on a small piece of glass going back up and had to doctor myself on the cliff. Just be smart and be safe. Once you're at the bottom it's smooth saling. Back track along the path until you reach the falls! You'll come across the first waterfall on the left which has no signs around it at all, but note that there is a danger sign on the end falls that claims the water may contain sewage and e.coli bacteria. Keep that in mind and enter at your own risk. I went in and experienced no physical after effects besides a sun burn. Shower very well once you're home and listen to your body, if you start feeling sick, visit a doctor.. You don't want to get e.coli poisoning! Either way you choose, pack lightly and bring lots of water! It is absolutely breath taking. Out of all the falls I've seen this is by far my favourite and it is worth every second of the hike, no matter which route you take! If you choose to scale the gorge, note that it is much easier going back up but you'll need to remember where you came down in order to get back to the fence properly. BE SAFE, I can't stress this enough. Happy hiking!
One crazy amazing and beautiful fall. The colour of the water is breathtaking. We had to trespass and climb over the fence and down the cliff during winter, but it was totally worth it after we saw the falls.
Great place
Worth the semi difficult trek in.
Great place, beautiful waterfall and gorge.
A place for great hiking
Couldn't find parking and ways to go down.
It's a nice way to spend your day hiking around lots of nice scenery
A bit of a hike but the waterfall is beautiful. Makes for some great pics
Definitely no access with a car so be prepared to park your car far and just look over the bridge to see the falls but it's still worth it
Place is amazing beautiful view
Google maps took us to a place with no parking or access to the falls. Looks like it would have been beautiful but couldnt find a way to get to the bottom of them
Very beautiful
There is no access and you look over a bridge off the main road and your done in 5 mins...off to Oakville waterfront.
Really not that accessible. Better to find another.
Quite the effort for a storm exit.
Nice view, but the path is dangerous. It should warn individuals.
Beautiful falls! Very short hike Easy for all age ranges Pet friendly Can even swim, if you're willing!
Another beautiful Hamilton waterfall.
I met a municipal police office standing right above the "fall" to prevent people from getting down there.
One of the best waterfalls in Hamilton. Not big and loud like Webster's and tews but secluded and serene. The sedimentary rocks makes for amazing pictures as well.
A great adventure
Great scenery.
Beautiful place n the good thing it it's hidden..
It an amazing place to take a walk, it's so refreshing just remember to social distance ????
We started on the top of the falls at scenic drive and worked or way down...very steep ...yes you need good grip on your shoes. Lots of little stones and loose rocks. Very pretty area especially in October! Falls was very Nice and it had a water Basin which was very deep looked great for swimming but not sure how clean!?! Traveled all along the edge of the Rocky cliffs... Great little workout!!
be mindful!! There is no legal entrance into the falls area, the path is dangerous and illegal. People are usually fined here. You can see the waterfall from the bridge and that's it. I was disappointed people didn't mention this information in reviews before.
Very picturesque spot. The falls are surprisingly really loud. It smells great by there and is definitely and experience you don’t want to miss if passing by.
All the climbing and hiking for a view of sewage waterfall. Mediocre experience. Water looks unclean.
You have a pretty moderate hike to get here and once you get to the very top you'll be glad.
I used to live outside of Hamilton and I planned on going to every waterfall in and around Hamilton. Chedoke was the first one I got to experience, Googles offline maps can show you all around there as long as you downloaded your area (you can download Chedoke falls area aswell) it was an amazing view from all angles and a fun ride down at this time of the year. If you decide to tresspass onto private property (which i highly do not advocate) be safe! Those rocks look steady until you step on them, so always put pressure onto rocks before outting your whole body weight, especially for deep slopped areas. If you havent had the experience of being to Chedoke, I would highly recommend coming from the rail trail and walking up for the scene.
It's nice to have a look from the top, but to really experience it you need to walk up from the bottom. Also: there's no parking at the top, so you need to find parking in a side street and walk to the to of the falls.
Great hiking trails, I believe there is 5 waterfalls around this area.
google maps took us to no parking or access the falls. (43.2460265,-79.9069172) is the correct spot to park your vehicle and hike.
Good falls but not as big as i thought it would be
My fave fall in Hamilton
This beautiful area was featured in Canadian Geographic magazine Sept/Oct 2020 edition.
A curtain of water fall look. Bluish waters. Environment preserved. Happy Diwali to all canDiN lovely people
Can't find a way to get near the falls, just saw it from the scenic drive
I wouldn't recommend going here in the winter. The best time would be around autumn when it's not wet outside. It's a beautiful place though.
The falls was not running that much when we got there. There is a huge set of stairs that people use for exercising but it gets really crowded.
Loved it. Hidden treasure in the heart of Hamilton.
Aesthetic: 4/5 Cleanliness: 2/5 Difficulty: hard Beautiful waterfall, requires some hiking skills. DO NOT SWIM HERE. I see people swimming here from time to time, it is NOT clean or safe! Park on a side street in the surrounding area if you’re trying to access the falls from the top!
So sad that there is no chance to see the fall from the bottom
Would of been cool if there wasn't garbage everywhere. The walk there was a good hike and good adventure. Just remember to all tho, that's grey water coming down, I wouldn't be swimming in it.
Great hiking place
I fell of the waterfall and died Im leaving this review from the clouds
beautiful water falls but got a ticket for being there so be careful
Once we arrived to the trail, we were told that the trail is closed due to unstable grounds and officers are giving out $75 tickets for trespassing. However, this information was not on their website. Nor anywhere at the park entrance. Thankfully we did not get a ticket and left the park disappointed as we had just drove 1.5 just to go hiking at this falls. Very disappointing!!
Meh. It was an okay hike. Would’ve liked more directions to the actual falls. I’d recommend this if you want a hike with lacklustre.
Don't go directly to the top. Bad view. Drive into the nearby park at the bottom of the mountain. Walk into the trail. Kind of a pain.
Gorgeous
Very execiting jounry! Slippery somewhere because the soil got wet
Gorgeous frozen beauty. During my visit it was really busy. Except waterfall itself there was nothing else to see. The walk from parking lot to the viewing platform was very easy and short. The only issue was with limited parking spaces.
Hella lit place to ball up. Nothing like a water pipe and a waterfall
Used to be a great area for hiking...not safe anymore
Wonderful place for a hike, if you're physically up to the challenge, it's not just a trail based area. Waterfalls are great!
Beautiful challenging trail hopping across rocks up to the lower chedoke falls, then climbing some roots on a vertical 15' climb to the top of the falls where you continue up to the chedoke falls. Only downside is the water isn't clean to swim in, it is clear but there are signs warning about high ecoli content. It is water that runs off the roads so probably a lot of toxins too.
Hard to find until we realized it was cascading below the street level. Cool little water fall. Got some cool aerial shots.
I recommend going along the creek rather than the trail. It's more adventurous. Wear proper footwear since you'll be climbing alot of rocks. At the end of the creek you'll see the Gorgeous view of chedoke falls
Nice short easy walk to the first falls, couldnt go to the second falls because it was fenced. No signage indicating trails
Absolutely Perfect! ....accept for the litter courtesy of your fellow humans :(
Absolutely beautiful place. Gorgeous, scenic trail and a couple of nice falls. If you start from Cliffview Park, you'll need to take the stairs - 289 steps which could be a pain in the neck on the way back.
Awesome
Poor directions to this fall. The fall is pretty good... With some shallow deep waters
Beautiful!!
Love Chedoke Falls! Hike is the best part. Go up the rocks to make it a challenging hike or take the woods. Best part is relaxing by the falls...any of the three of them.
This is by far my favourite waterfall in Hamilton. I love that there's more than one route to take down to the falls and that there's so much to photograph. Chedoke falls is such a beautiful place for taking pictures whether it be portraits or nature shots! I took some breath taking images and I highly recommend going with a friend! Watch your step as the ground can be unstable at times.
Hard to get to
Couldn't find parking and so I had to unfortunately leave, after trying for 30 min???? can't give proper ratings because I didn't see it
My family loves coming here and climbing. Really beautiful and adventurous. Bring a change of clothes or at least shoes
Beautiful waterfall! Hike up the river from the smaller waterfall one
Beautiful place, however can be a difficult terrain (high inclines, rock bridge over water) so be prepared
I didn’t go, I don’t know if it is open or No, can you guys please response
I have been to the falls recently with my friends and we enjoyed the view. Google maps just take you to the street nearby. If you're driving, park your car at the golf parking lot and walk to the end of the parking lot and on the second right is the access to the falls. Not recommended for physically handicapped people as you need to walk through the uneven stones.
love chedoke hard to find but just off the beaten path are beautiful adventures
The falls are beautiful. Popular hike but quite difficult. Many people.like to go to the bottom of the falls which is a semi difficult hike. Takes about 2 hours total. possible get wet. We parked top side so had to take the gigantic set of stairs up and down.
Nice adventure trying to find it, although very difficult to find
I went with a few friends there and totally enjoyed it. The hiking was a bit tough but once you reach the waterfall you will find it is worth it. The cold water and the fresh air will take you to a different place altogether.
Cannot access the waterfall from Scenic drive directly... saw hikers crossing a "No Tresspassing" fence to trek through a muddy river bed to get there from the Bruce Trail. Water didn't look too welcoming despite the sunny & 28 degree day
Like the other waterfalls in the region, it is a great place to visit and admire.
Nice view.
A must see ????
Beautiful
No accessible to the public
Beautiful waterfall, you're not supposed to go in it but the nature is just too beautiful not to. Prepare to have your shoes soaked & be careful on the slippery rocks.
falls? lol more like sewage
Nice walk and good view but be careful
Noice did not die
Great secluded location. You can see the falls from the top of the bridge, however, you have to sneak in through the side to go down and actually view the two falls. Wear proper footwear and don’t swim in the water
I can't get in!!!!!
Nice area, stairs popular for exercise also connected with city wide trial system.
Pretty underwhelming and an odd terrain to hike through. Meh.
Beautiful location
Beautiful
Wonderful place
Nice place for a hike /dog walk and just sit and listen to the falls
Have to walk a long distance to see the beautiful view of the falls but worth it. you ll find a trial halfway through the steps down, don't hesitate to take that. great view
Was winter but still beautiful
Beautiful, hidden waterfalls just waiting to be seen.
Just a small waterfall
Absolutely loved it. We climbed and climbed and climbed and while it was a bit hard at times, the scenery was so worth it!
If you put chedoke falls on google maps, it will take you to a wrong street. Put these coordinates - 43.2460265 -79.9079172 and it will take tou towards exact location to the parking. Falls are great and awesome view. Hope it helps????
We can just view from top..and the view is not that good
Nice place to visit with family. It is more fun when you go near to fall and experience the nature beauty near by... enjoy a lot with family
Too many stairs to climb up and down .. then you have to rock climb to the big waterfalls .. if you like rock climbing and adventure you would like this
Very pretty landscape and a great tourist attraction to see if you're visiting hamilton!
Got a $75 ticket for going here today. Great hike tho , beautiful falls
Great place for a cold dip in the hot summer! Short but moderate difficulty walk along the riverbed to access.
I mean, its a nice waterfall, but theres no safe way to get a good look at it or take nice pictures. Also DON'T swim in its water (I've heard that our sewers direct there)
Hard to get to but worth it.
Love this waterfall. Please people clean up your own garbage. Let's keep this place beautiful
Wonderful sightseeing
Good scenery. Can be slippery.
Awesome trail
Hard to find. Can't see the falls. No easy way to get to the trail. Maps shows the location of the falls but there is no way to view it from that point
People were very respectful and obeyed social distancing rules
A hidden gem for sure. It was quite a fun hike to get to the falls. Getting above the lower falls was a bit tricky, but it can be done multiple ways, just have to pick the path that looks best for you.
Accessing the falls is not for the faint-hearted
Nice place to walk the trail's..
There is no access to it. Or at least GPS doesn't take you there
The gorge and the falls are beautiful but very rugged. Steep ravine walls and cliffs which are under cut forms a bowl around the water falls. The falls cannot be seen from above and access from below is prohibited due to the jagged unstable terrain. Despite this dozens of sure footed explorers venture to the falls each day. The layers of differently coloured sedimentary rock adds to the rugged beauty. There are many century old trees and due to soil erosion they are at risk of falling down; as many already lay on the ground.
Beautiful place. You park by the golf course and there are about 3-4 different falls in the vicinity. If you take the stairs trail you bump into two different falls. A d if you walk down about and go through the hiddent trail by the ravine you will find the chedoke falls. Its. Beautiful little hike and a nice spot for photo ops. What most people dont know is that there is another falls beyong this falls which is even more beautiful but it is a bit of a hike.
We can't get near to the fall
Excellent spot to spend a few hours.
Hiding falls and close now.
Bruce trail goes tantalizingly near, but it is too dangerous to see from the bottom, where the best view would be. Steep sides, subject to erosion, is why the city has sensibly warned people from attempting to go under the barriers, leave the well marked trail, and try to climb to it anyway. Too many Toronto city types with inadequate footwear, seeking waterfall selfies are causing rescue services to be called to rescue them. Stay on the trail and enjoy the view of the escarpment instead and you will have a better time
(Translated) A hike for people in good shape, but once the result is guaranteed! Just superb! (Original) Une randonnée pour les personnes en forme, mais une fois au bout le résultat est garanti! Juste superbe!
Beautiful hiking.
Most seen!
Very pretty, park at the bottom and take the radial trail towards the base, follow the fence on the left side until there’s a break in the fence. (Second break), it should drop off a bunch and you should be able to see water. (Not the building). Follow the stream up, make sure you are able to climb above the first waterfall in order to be able to reach the second and third waterfalls.
24 billion liters of raw sewage pouring over these falls. It's a complete discrace. The third world city of Hamilton Ontario
The hike is not easy and the way in is not obvious, but once you do make it, the views are stunning and it's totally worth it
To get to the falls ,it takes some hiking if you're interested ????
There's a waterfall somewhere close by... Everyone was trying to find it but it was a struggle. You could get close, we could here it but we couldn't seem to get within view of it. Nice area in general but if you're going just to see a waterfall this might not be the best option
Great track ????
A wonderful experience. Well worth the hike up the creek to find the hidden treasures.
It's small. The Waterfall basin is off limits so you won't be able to see this view unless you're willing to get ticketed or fined. Park rangers to drive around handing them out.
The fall was dried because of the heat wave. However the trail is beautiful and quiet. It is also less crowded and we'll maintained.
Amazing falls. There's 3 falls
Its beautiful, only wish there were some trails to go on!
Nice but no way to legally get down to the bottom
So beautiful great place
I was not able to reach it. Google map took us to nowhere, and when we tried hiking, we were kinda lost and had no idea where to start and end. Horrible to go there without a proper research. Do go there depending on GPS only, do your home work first, and make sure you have a printed map just in case you loss signal.
Very nice
Not worth the frustration didnt even see any veiw of the falls
Breathtakingly gorgeous!
Really nice hike. To get to the waterfall you actually have to go to the part they tell u not to go to (like leave the trail). Worth it!
The trails are great. Waterfall was not that visible from the road.
A bit of a trek but definitely worth it.
