Did a three falls hike in one afternoon, which included Tews Falls, Webster Falls and another lesser known falls whose name escapes me right now. Tews Falls was by far the best for it's view of the surrounding landscape and then a little further up the trail, we were able to see over Dundas, and towards Hamilton. We could even see the CN Tower in Toronto. It was a short hike of about 15 minutes to get to Tews. Websters Falls, although an impressive waterfall is protected and there is no area to hike to. We parked our car, walked over some grass and on a short path and then viewed the falls. We walked around the park for 15 minutes and we were done. Also there were no swimming holes that were easily accessible at either of the falls, which was disappointing. It is a nice afternoon outing if you have a family, or with those who aren't looking to hike. However if you're looking for a more rugged hike with the reward of a private swimming hole, go somewhere else.
Can’t say what the falls look like. Tried to go but parking lot was closed and needed to take shuttle. Unfortunately we arrived late in the afternoon and shuttles were about to stop. Had to park 4km away(nearest parking lot as NO parking signs are EVERYWHERE). Tried to hike back to falls but trails are not marked and got lost and gave up.
Amazing place. The scenery is breathtaking. One of Ontarios hidden treasures
Best experience ever. Though Dundas peak is a risky trail specially in Winter due to slippery trail. Wont recommend in winter but you can definitely enjoy the falls view..
To be honest there is a long trail and a fall which you can only see from that far from where the picture is taken and can’t go down because it’s too deep and also there is one more waterfall which is called Webster’s fall which need separate reservation and you cannot have two reservations at once.
It's OK. No easy parking at the falls and you have to park at an antique store a few mins away and take a shuttle there. It's $10 per person. Trail signs are misleading - it seems as if you can walk to Webster Falls from there but you go a bit down the trail only to find out it gets cut off by a private property and you had to take the shuttle to a separate entrance. Views are decent and the Tews Falls trail links to Dundas Peak, which is pretty cool. No access to falls though.
The hike in the bottom of Tew's is lengthy and a bit treacherous (be warned) but absolutely worth it. Of all the spots in the Hamilton/Dundas area the bottom of Tews has to be my favourite, it's definitely worth the wait of the hike and the scenery on the way their is absolutely mind blowing. I come back as often as I can. Tips: bring snacks, bring bug spray, make a day of it. If you can go on a cooler day, if it's hotter wear a swimsuit under your clothes and splash around in the streams. Nature at its finest.
Pretty, and baby friendly trails. Very scenic.
Lots of people but worth the hike.
This was an amazing waterfall to visit. If you up to the challenge I really recommend taking the Greek through the woods off the beaten path to get to the base of the water fall. A lot less people and when you finally reach it you know it was worth it. Parking is $10 and it’s $5 per person if you go the tourist route.
The city decided to charge people for $10 parking on a FARM. And the farm is not walkable to the waterfall cause there's no sidewalks and it's far. And so they organized a SCHOOL bus where it's $5 per person to bring you to the falls. First of all, WHY are they doing this whole stupid shuttle bus idea?? They won't even allow dogs or coolers and wagons on the bus... so we saw families carrying all their bags of food on the bus. Oh did I mention there were no picnic tables or anything so don't think of eating lunch there :) And second of all... the waterfall honestly was not worth $10 + $5/ person. Same with Dundas peak. Because when you look down... ooooo I see houses and the railroad track oh wow SO beautiful!!! .. roll my eyeballs. It's the other side where there's more trees. And the spot where people take all their insta pics... okay it's the SAME SPOT. there's like 2 spots. That's all. And the cliff is slanted in a way where it goes inwards so if you stand on the edge, there's nothing supporting you from underneath except for a few slabs of rocks that sticks out. Oh my god honestly people who wants to take cool cliff pics can just drive north. There's tons of those. Why are u trying to kill urself? The only reason why it was a good day for me still is cause I was there with old friends I haven't seen in 6 months. And it was more about the company. But seriously. WHY ARE THEY CHARGING FOR THINGS MOTHER NATURE PROVIDED?!?! Oh yes you built a PATH and a few platforms. Clap clap clap. City of Hamilton, that is so wonderful how you found ways to rip people off and to transform that one nature spot into a big tourist trap. This place will only be worth it IF IT IS FREE. There's SO MANY beautiful places in ONTARIO THAT ARE FREE. F R E E. take notes. Pics in this post: doesn't the falls look like it's coming out from a SEWER?
Really enjoyed my hike here. It is a pretty short hike to Dundas Peak, not strenuous and can be done in about 30-40 mins depending on how fast you are. The falls are breathtaking. There is a parking lot on harvest rd and Tew lane of you go during the weekday. $15 for parking for the entire day and can be used at other lots as well. I believe on the weekends the parking lot is not available. You must take a shuttle from the conservation area.
I have been hiking here for decades and the park itself is beautiful, but I will never go back here again. Not only has the trail been closed that connected Webster's Falls with Tew's Falls, but now you are no longer allowed to park here on the weekend. How ridiculous and selfish of the town of Dundas, you have stolen the joy of visiting this area. I would love to understand why these changes were made. If someone knows please explain.
Amazing hike! Tons of spots to stop and take photos or simply appreciate the conservation area. Saw a bunch of small wildlife (chipmunks, rabbits, skunks!!, etc.). Some parts are definitely steep, and if you have an accessibility issue or trouble breathing, you may want to have someone there to support you. All in all; a fun workout! insta: @samantha.pye
Great trail, it's not too long. Has some steep areas but they aren't that bad. Kids had fun. Views were beautiful.
This is one of my favourite places to hike, best views are in the fall when the leaves begin to change! It is a fairly easy trail with a few steep points however the path is well maintained. Takes about twenty minutes tops (one way) for an average hiker. There are lookouts to see the waterfall along the way. Once you've enjoyed the views of the falls, be sure to keep going! This path leads to a lookout on the top of a cliff where you can see the city below. Great photo opportunities!! Hope you enjoy this place as much as I do. Warning: Not a great hike for small children due to cliff edges being exposed throughout the hike. Easiest way to find it: type postal code into GPS: L9H 5K7 Parking: $10/car Tip: Park at the bottom parking, enter the trail to the left of the parking, towards the portapotty, if you see stairs going up, you are headed in the right direction.
Great view of the falls from up high! Nice walk along the ridge and onwards to Dundas peek. About a 20 minute walk to the peak. Gets busy at sunset for obvious reasons.
Nice natural place with a high waterfalls and a nice trail leading to dundas peak. Weekends are very busy and parking is not on site on weekends, you have to park at Christie lake conservation area and then take a shuttle to tew falls. From the drop of point it's just two min walk to the falls. Better to go on weekdays whej you can even park on site and less crowded.
The Falls and the hike was okey, however have a total mess with the parking spot. they said the parking lot is closed and they force tou to go to the park which is 15 min away . They will charge $10 for a parking located two miles away + 5$ / person for a school bus (shuttle bus) which is run every 30 mins to deliver you to the entrance
Due to the drought of summer '16 there is almost no flow of water. Still spectacular views but if the falls are your draw wait until there's been a hearty rainfall.
Cute waterfalls accessible by a short hike.
Based on my experience I give it 4 stars but I had to be naughty to get that experience. Went on a weekday and got a parking spot for 10 dollars, so I am taking off a star. Wasn't charged the extra 5 dollars per person for some reason, maybe because it was a weekday. Things to know: there is a free way in. (I wont pay again.) Locals do not pay either, they just wait till the late afternoon or use an old a trail route. There are at least three points at which you can get to trails, that park claims do not exist. These trails can take you into the bottom of the gorge, the base of the waterfalls, and extra waterfalls that if you don't go into the gorge you will never see. Only one of the ways down is without risk, but comes with a long walk. The others are not for the faint of heart. Some being more risky and challenging then others. If I wasn't able to find my way down and they charged me another 5 dollars i would not recommend Tews Falls and give it only one star as without the gorge, plus the cost it would be a total disappointing rip-off.
One hell of a view past the falls if you can do the hike.
Over priced for parking if not staying long be cautious about it all free in Woodstock for things like the Burgess ruins.
Beautiful falls. Nice places to visit as a couple, with friends and family.
Beautiful, well maintained. Must see during the fall ????
There’s a nice trail that can take you to Dundas peak ! It is slippery in some parts of the trail during the winter. Otherwise great view and hike
Go there for the view, not for the hike. If you are a hiker, you will be a little disappointed. It's just a short easy hike to a lookoff point. But the falls are beautiful. Try going when it has rained a bit.
Fall is the best season to visit this place as you can also see the changing colour of the trees. There is no nearby parking available so be ready to board there bus for 10 dollar bill.
Beautiful spot, although the picture of the waterfall down there is Webster Falls.
Beautiful with the winter ice. We went last week and December parking requires no reservation and was $15. It costs more in the summer (an extra $5 per person) and you will need a reservation. There is a nice little hiking loop to Dundas Peak. It took us about an hour, plodding through the snow. I only gave 4 stars because of the cost. The falls in the area all charge quite a bit and some have a one hour limit, so seeing a few in a day will add up.
Beautiful day with beautiful views of Dundas and beyond. Hamilton and Dundas have so much to offer. Finding new places to experience all the time.
Great place to escape from Toronto and to try spotting some waterfalls. The area is really nice, close to Dundas. Everybody is usually very friendly who is walking around there. There is more to do if you don’t mind hiking a bit longer in the area - check out the connecting paths and explore more.
One of the tallest falls in Canada. Been there a few times in summer and fall, and the difference is huge. It's very nice spot to see in Hamilton area. Pay attention that there's no parking at the Dundas Peak and the falls on weekends. Instead, you should go to Lake Christie and have a bus shuttle from there.
Great hike in the late fall. It is insanely busy in the summer.
Breathtaking place to be at especially during the fall season. Great place to just take a stroll or have a small hike.
beautiful but hard to get too close due to the fences, you can only view through the view point.
The view from the top is nice. The hike from the bottom, despite the trail being "closed", is worth it. Just know that you're accepting the risk of a non-maintained path, and all the risks that go with it. But the view from the bottom is spectacular.
It's so overcrowded that you have to park off site (at Christie Lake) on weekends and holidays and take an inconvenient shuttle (bus) in, and you can no longer walk between the falls (you have to take the shuttle). When you get off the bus you have to deal with a bus-load of people seeing the same site. Consider going on a weekday if possible.
Stunning 41 meter waterfall in Spencer Gorge conservation area. The falls is a very short walk from the weekday parking area. There is an hour long trail for hiking that takes you to a cliff over hang with views of Hamilton and Dundas. Can combine with a visit to Webster's falls.
Love this place. It's so beautiful. The views are stunning. Perfect place to go with family. Nice 20 minute trail walk to Dundas peak. Parking can be a problem sometimes on weekends. I would recommend snow shoes in winter as It can be slippery sometimes. Definitely worth trying. Nature at its best.
This is such a beautiful place to go for a walk, wish there was more parking but not a big deal
Been here a few times now. Always stop to gaze at the falls and hit the trails with my dog.
The falls is nice place to visit. Unfortunately, the city has removed parking at the falls, setting up no parking signs on all streets around the falls with enforcement. The city put in place an off site paid parking and shuttle arrangement. Frankly location is nice but not worth the parking fees.
Nice place for hiking, but be careful the insect and mosquito..
Great winter visit
Great falls view and pleasant atmosphere during evening time.
A very beautiful waterfall. But if you are a visitor, the $15 parking fee is a little exorbitant.
Great looking falls. The hiking trail and scenery are beautiful. From the parking lot, Follow the left path to the Tew's Fall's and Dundas Peak. Follow the right one to Webster's Fall's
Spectacular and astonishing beauty of the nature come close to us by standing on the Falls viewing platform just minutes walk from the parking lot. Tew’s Falls also has beautiful trail with spectacular viewing spots ( lookout point) of the …
Tew's Falls is a wonder, as a new local photographer I've been wanting to shoot portraits here for a while and I'm happy I finally was able to! It great that both this falls and the peak (about a 10 mins walk) are close together. @lensfulphotos on Facebook and Instagram
Nice place with a beautiful view during the winter. Wear appropriate foot wear with some tread or you'll be slipping if its icy. The trial is short so its best for a small part of your day plan. Also, parking here will cost you 10$ for the vehicle and 5$ per person payable at electric kiosks in both parking areas.
Very long trail, rather beautiful. Be careful for trail abruptly ends going towards lower tews falls and at that point you're like 6k from where you started and the climb back up the mountain is rather difficult unless you're a seasoned hiker. There is no alternative route further down the train tracks.
Simply awesome. We parked at Christie Park and took the bus to Tew's Falls. The Spencer trial was a time well spent. The leaves were changing, the temp was a little wet and their were a few muddy areas but that's life. …
An AMAZING experience. Must visit.
If you like wading through waves of yoga pants and iPhones for a chance of snapping some gorgeous fall scenery then this is the place. If the idea of that bothers you maybe come early in the morning. Monday afternoon is already too late to avoid crowds. ????
Before planning to go on weekend first check their website for instructions. when you get there you have to go to a parking lot which is about 10 minutes drive and 50 minutes walk, there are shuttle to give you a ride for $5 each person …
Pretty nice experience. Tip: Go when it's not a dry dry season or the water falls will look anorexic.
Tews Falls is pretty nice and viewing platforms make for easy photo spots. Wouldn't want to miss the walk to Dundas Peak and back too during Fall colours. I was fortunate to visit a few times for the Fall colours before the trail between Tews Falls and Webster Falls was cut off. I would walk from Webster Falls to Tews Falls to Dundas Peak and back. Last time I visited the crowds were overwhelming and parking was an issue but the shuttle bus had not been implemented yet. So my full stars is for my personal experience back then. Take a look at my photos if you are curious about what the trail between Tews and Webster was like.
Nice place to walk.. and falls. Not really worth hunting all over for parking. . Parking lots were full when we went on Sunday afternoon. Parked near a store whose owner charged CAD 10. Entry to the falls area requires CAD 5. Unfriendly staff only accept cash.
Falls were beautiful even in winter. Apparently the drop is just meters less than Niagara! Walk to Falls was easy and quick, but the connecting trail to Dundas Peak was equally as amazing! In the winter, they don’t appear to care about the …
Nice views. Trail is a bit treacherous in spots and is not for novice hikers by themselves. Water flow over falls is more plentiful in spring months. Views of fall colours on the trees are the best in southern Ontario. Parking is limited and expensive.
Fun little day hike. In the past couple years this trail has become slightly busier.
A really nice and tall waterfall with well made lookout platforms. If you're feeling mildly adventurous the hike to the Dundas overlook just behind the falls is also very relaxing and interesting to see.
Loved the day spent there. Very short hiking path. Beautiful nature, nothing else is needed.
Visit during the week! I went to visit Tew's Falls for the first time and made sure to visit during a …
Looked really good along with the greenery around. There are no stores close by, so if you are planning to hike to Dundas peak as well, make sure you carry water and keep yourself hydrated. The shuttle buses take you to the nearby falls. Parking is not available at Tew's Falls.
Fall was almost dry when we went last weekend, But still the hike was beautiful ,easy for kids too .My 5 and 10 year old were in front of everyone.
It’s An hour drive from Toronto to see this beautiful falls
Nice place to go for a walk. Three or four lookout points for the falls and the gorge/valley. Dundas peak look out is a very nice view. The hike isn't too challenging, good for a stroll :)
Definitely spectacular! One of the larger falls in the Hamilton escarpment. The hike to the Dundas peak is very nice too, although the parking fee has increased dramatically over the years.
Great walk with friends and family. Well maintained, clear route with stairs as needed. Beautiful view of the falls from several vantage points. Will definitely be back when we have more time!
Great place for a quick hike! 1-1.5hours depending on your speed. Trail is well kept, and easy to navigate. Tew's falls stands incredibly tall, and is a great sight to see! Excellent photo opportunities here.
The views here are incredible all year round. You can see from Dundas all the way to downtown Hamilton if you get out to Dundas Peak via the trail. Weekends during the warmer months can be quite busy and the parking lot isn't the biggest. Don't park on where you aren't supposed to because by-law comes by here during busy times all the time.
Nice waterfall, a bit of a walk, sucks that you have to pay tho
Beautiful great place to see in Hamilton.
Breathtaking views - highly recommended specially in Fall season
Clean and nice trail... water at fall is not as expected..
Beautiful waterfall and trail! I love those colors.
The parking admission is $15 per day. There is no options for short time parking. If you will spend half an hour, it is quite expensive.
OMG, stunning. This is on the way to the Dundas Peak. Beautiful hiking. Please go, you will not be disappointed.
Very nice look out to the falls and it's worth the short hike. It's a shame the parking cost increased drastically and they added an entrance fee too :-(
Beautiful to see, parking is a bit pricey and the walk ways were very muddy this time of year so come prepared!
Went on a cloudy November day and unfortunately the waterfall wasn't flowing very hard. But it's still beautiful and worth the visit, especially on the way to the peak. Pay parking is in effect after Nov 15th and $15, first come first serve parking spots. Weekends get busy
Spectacular water fall, almost as tall as Niagara and more of an outback charm to it. Very well maintained trail and just a short walk from the main parking lot. Definitely worth the 10 dollar parking fee, as it goes towards keeping this …
This waterfall was better than expected and pictures didnt do it justice. Must see if you are in the area. We came here on a Saturday in early October and were forced to work at Lake Christie and take shuttle bus, fyi.
There used to be an access to the waterfall, not any more. You cannot have a good look at the waterfall at all. There used to be a hiking trail to another waterfall, once again not any more: it's closed due to the private territory on the way. The municipality wants to charge $15 a car for a day parking, but really it's hard to justify the cost. All in all it was a disappointing visit as there isn't much to do any longer. To be fair, there is still a few picnic tables, but there are way better places for that.
Great scenery and nature, one of the trails is connected to Dundas peak.
Another goregoues waterfall, hard climb down even harder climb up! We went in the late winter and the ice formation was beautiful. Definitely recommend wearing proper foot attire very slippery. Glad to have so many wonderful spots to still explore in Hamilton!
Great hike down and then an awesome hike along the river to Websters. Only downside is the parking situation can make you question your faith in humanity.
I don't like or think it's right that you have to pay to park when going to outdoor nature places like this! :( *grrrrr* JACK
The locals there have complained enough to force the parking lot to be closed all the time. This means you have to go some where else, catch a shuttle bus to be dropped off here. It's a shame such a wonderful landmark site is now further restricted for hundreds and thousands of visitors that would like to come by and help the local economy. Squeaky wheel always gets the grease.
Very popular falls in Hamilton. Nice trails, lookout points and amazing falls; only 10 meters shy of Niagara Falls Horseshoe falls. My only negative comment is that it is so popular and you can't park there on weekends and holiday Mondays. You have to park at Christie Lake conservation area and take a very full school bus shuttle to the falls.
Meh. The place really went downhill in the last couple of years. Extraordinary prices (25$ per person plus 5$ per each additional person) and you only have 2 hours you can't stay for longer. It's so unaffordable and honestly it isn't worth it. It's small unimpressive falls at the beginning of the trail to Dundas Peak.
Beautiful falls after a beautiful and challenging hike. Quiet trails with many many routes to explore. Gem!
The waterfall is nice and it has a nice trail to Dundas peak. Only problem is, the parking is closed on weekends and you have to pay parking and take a shuttle to this waterfall. Directions are not so clear to find this shuttle place. And it takes longer to come. It’s a hassle.
Went there today, drove 40 minutes from Mississauga, and was not allowed to go on the trail, security guard said I have to go online 24hrs before and make a reservation. There were maybe 3 or 4 cars in the parking lot but he still denied me because of Covid. Crazy. Then I went to Port Credit Jack Darling park and there were hundreds of people having picnics, kids running around people walking sitting, no problems, no security or anything like that.
Good sized waterfall and small hike. Great for group outing.
Beautiful place to visit. Trails are amazing sorrounded by the natural beauty. Further walk to the Dundas peak and you will love the view of Hamilton. Adrenaline pumped people will be sitting on the edge of the rock which is scary and dangerous.
NOT PET FRIENDLY. No parking near the falls. You can park only on Christie lake, which is really far away and parking cost is 15$. There is a shuttle from that place however they do not allow pets on the shuttle. Hate such kind of infrastructure.
It looks pretty cool. 1 moment the water is at the top and the next one it splashes on the rocks below but by the time it happens some more wather shows up at the top. The area is well maintained, suprisingly good use of the tax money. There are like 2 platforms where you can take a look. It's a nice and quiet area, well expect the waterfall. Those things are noizy. Not too far from Webster falls and downtown Dundas. Overall it's a good hike.
I have a love and hate feeling toward this place. The good: breathtaking view, especially from the Dundas peak. It's nice little waterfall is in a area with relatively easy hiking, My four year old girl did it all the way without any complaints. The bad: It was a disaster in terms of the parking. We got to the parking area only to find that no parking is available. The street was crowded from people looking for parking, and those who parked along the road got tickets from the police. They had signs saying to park at the Christie Lake Conservation, but if you had no GPS, you would have a hard time finding it cuz they don't have any sign after to guide you over. All side streets were closed to residents only. Unless you want to risk getting a ticket, you can drive into those streets to find a parking and walk over. I wasn't going to risk it and wasn't going to get my young kids and senior mother to walk the distance before the hiking even started. It was about 7 minutes drive and we had to pay for parking and shuttle. To give the credit, the shuttle came pretty fast. Despite the fact that over a hundred people were waiting in line to get on, the line moved quickly that we were able to get on in less than 15 min. The mobile toilets were disgusting. They need more frequent cleaning of these things for sure. I don't mind paying for a fee for the parking and shuttle, but since we paid, we deserve clean bathrooms, at least. So for those of you who are planning a trip to the Dundas peak/Wester Falls, Tew's Fall area, skip the hassle of even trying to look for parking coz there is none. Just go straight for the Christie Lake Conservation and take the shuttle. Make sure you used the wash room before heading over.
Lovely place for an easy hike. The sites are lovely and sometimes you can see different small animals around and large birds. The falls are nice and you don't have to be very athletic to enjoy the walk there. Great for families and friends.
Cool fall colours. Not much water at the falls when we went. 2 lookout points to see the falls.
Very nice place for visiting & hiking.
Beautiful sopt for hiking. Lots of well maintained trails to explore.
Depending where you parked, you can reach Tew's falls on the way to Dundas Peak. In our case, we parked in town and went down to Tew's Falls after seeing Dundas Peak. It's nice and refreshing to look at.
A stunning location great for hikes and picnics!
Part of the whole Spencer gorge experience. Beautiful all year, even in winter with water pouring into a chimney of ice. Spring water flow is best, fall leaves are most picturesque. Don't forget the Peak and Webster's falls too.
This area must really hate visitors. Close all parking lots and trails. Only one $10 open plus cost of shuttle. if you park anywhere else you will get big ticket. Nice planned day trip turn into disaster. After this adventures we decided to skip dinner and shopping and go home. Small businesses around must really like it. I will never visit this area again, never, ever again.
Gorgeous falls with a huge drop. The platforms provide some good angles to view the falls, and the fact that Webster Falls is a short distance away is a plus. Unfortunately, the on-site maps will indicate that you can get from one fall to another via a trail, but in fact someone must have recently purchased property that overlaps the trail and prevents hikers from following the path (the path is blocked). So get ready to hold along the street. The parking situation also blows. You'll walk even more because of that and might even get a ticket if you park along the street where you're not supposed to.
It was just ok. For all the hassle to find parking and the tremendous walk to see the network of waterfalls in the area ... was not worth all the effort. If the main parking lots are full you can usually find a homeowner along the route who will let you park in their lot for a fair price.
Good place for hiking scenery very pleasant to look at.
Disappointed especially because of the fees, $10 per car and on top of that $5 per person is a bit ridiculous. The falls are okay, the waterfall is long but not that wide. The scenery around the fall is nice.
A fairly tall waterfall. Some grooming to the area.
Very nice waterfall and a few more in surrounding area. Nice place for a hike.
A great spot to visit that overlooks the Dundas valley, can be very crowded though
This is a nice fall and this has a small trail to Dundas peak. Dundas peak has a nice view and love the the trail. Parking does not available in the Tew's Falls Conservation area and required to park your vehicles at Christie Lake Conservation Park and will have to take the shuttle bus. Shuttle service available every 10mins.
Tew's falls was the first destination with Webster's falls being second. The sights were quite nice and peaceful, although some tourists can make it a bit of a noisier experience. The hiking path is about a 40 minute hike .
Beautiful hike and fall. Really thing but high. Might be a way to go down but thats an adventure for summer time
Pretty maintained trails, with ups and downs, but the thing is there is no closed circuit and you need to use the same path for your way back. The falls, not that magestic I would say..water flow was kind of slow and weak, but the cliff is really something. There is a shuttle bus taking persons to the trails from Christie Park which is at 10min driving distance from the falls. Last but not least, there is a WARNING panel at the entrance of the park about the presence of TICKS !!
This trail is just heaven. If you wanna see fall colors this is the place to go.
Great view of the falls and well maintained trail to the lookout
The place was gorgeous but we drove all the way from mississauga to find that there's no parking nearby. Apparently you have to drive till Christie lake, park there and take a shuttle bus. We found a Plaza sort of place about a kilometer away from this place (near the all way stop sign). The owner of the convenience store in the Plaza took $10 cash to let us park there.
A peaceful and gorgeous place for a gentle hike. We visited during a weekday, it was almost empty. I've been told it's busy on weekends.
Awesome place to hike! We started at Cascades Park nearby and parked for free! Then we hiked up to Dundas Peak and had an amazing vantage point to lookout from. After taking some amazing panoramic shots we headed towards Tews fall. What an …
The falls are beautiful, but lack of significant trails make this more of a foto op than a hike. The $10 parking looks like a cash grab, and all side streets have no parking available. Although Webster's falls are nearby, the park doesn't have a trail connecting the 2, even though the sign at Webster's falls shows one. If you want to drive to both, you have to cough up $10 at each parking lot, plus the Webster's falls entry fee. A shame that many beautiful sites are now heavily controlled and 'fee'd' to death.
Great place. Little parking
If you like hiking like I do. What better than to hike along Spencer's Gorge. On a beautiful day. Be surrounded by the natural beauty. If you haven't done. It's a must for your bucket list. The trail is well-groomed and looked after. Wear sensible Footwear or hiking shoes if you like. It is possible to do it in sandals. There's also no washrooms on site. Going to access the site you have to go to Christie's Lake Conservatory to Park your vehicle. Which there is a charge. The bus ride will take you to both Falls.
Great out look spot to view Hamilton's Fall
Very pretty and great trails!! Only downfall is you can't get down to the waterfall itself. Great cardio and beautiful scenery from the cliffs
Beautiful place to visit, parking charge is 15 dollars, fall view are nice , View from peak is beautiful, will enjoy the hike with kids.
A section of the path on the North-side is blocked as it belongs to a private landlord. Best to do the East side walk. It is like Rather short and good for families. Parking is available but ridiculously expensive (18 usd).
Well worth the trip to see this . Very close to the parking area . Parking lot isn't paved so a bit dusty . I had no idea these falls were that high and it's really nice to see. Theres also a hiking trail there too and it's well maintained and not difficult.
Excellent falls and a nice walk to the lookout. Some great views from there. Be sure to get there early before the crowds. Some important things. No parking here on weekends and holidays. You must park at Christie Lake conservation area and take the shuttle. First shuttle is at 9:30 ! Parking is $15.
Amazing ribbon waterfall, and is the tallest waterfall found in Hamilton, with a beautiful path that you walk on to get here and it is not disappointing! There are a few outlooks but the first one is the best. Easy to park and easy to get to. Little expensive at $10 for parking.
With the organization of parking so far away and shuttle buses.. $$.. it has spoiled what use to be an awesome picnic area. On weekends there use to be crowds of families having fun... It was like this for decades... Then as more and more locals complained about people parking on the street and increase of inconsiderate garbage leavers, things became millitant in the last 5 years... No weekend parking, parts of the trail closed by land owners. Not that they do not have the right to do these things, but it is no longer a "family fun experience"... If you forget the diaper bag in the car back at the Christie's parking area... It'll be a good 45min trip versus a short walk to the car to get it.
Beautiful hiking place which gives you great natural feeling of the fall experience ????
Nice play to walk except falls you can See Dundas Peak with distant view of Toronto and Flying Eagles.
Beautiful place. I love coming here with my family. It's an easy walk even for young children. Just make sure you bring good walking shoes with some sort of grip. Cost of admission is 5 per person over the age of 5 and 10 dollars per vehicle. Price includes Websters falls admission and some lake I can't recall. You're also only 1.6km to Dundas peak. If you live in the Toronto area it's a great day trip.
One of the best maintained trails I have been on this season. They have a lot of different lookout spots as well throughout the trail. Bring change or a credit card. Parking is a $10 day pass.
Really disappointed on this Park, seems really great and could be if only the indications were correct. We found the tews fall then arrived on a closed path because of a private property. Took the car and moved to the next parking spot where we found the Webster falls but no other trail. No indication to help, differences between map given and reality. 10$ is way too expensive for that.
One of the beautiful place to visit.
Views, waterfalls and hikes are amazing! But beware during winter that there are no washrooms and trails can be super icy and not maintained despite still charging over $15 for parking
Beautiful hiking place but expensive for a single person
See this hole? Its like a tunnel bridging a different world. Beautiful scenery there. Its so slippery at this season when snow starts melting. Strongly not recommend for Dundas peek, but y can walk a little bit to enjoy the fall. ????????
So beautiful here! It is a sight that has to be seen. I have been there numerous times and it is always just as enjoyable as the first time.
A great spot for an easy hike with beautiful views. There were plenty of people visiting the site when we stopped by on Canada Day, but it didn't feel crowded. The shuttle experience was very quick and easy. The park would be beautiful in the fall.
Great to catch some fall colours..
Amazing views and a beautiful trail. At the end of the trail their is a nice view. Unfortunately the brick barricade has turned into a sloppy mess of spray paint. Well worth the trip
First time to Tew's Falls and was not disappointed. It was first thing in the morning when it was still quiet with no tourists. Lovely place that I hope people will respect the plants and keep it litter free.
Nice waterfall, quick walk from parking. A bit hard to manage with a stroller, great for kids older than three. Reservations are required.
Not worth the drive to Dundas. Yes the falls are lovely but the area is over run with people which really kills the potentially positive vibe of the park. You can’t park anywhere nearby, and the streams of people flooding down the streets have turned all the local residents hostile to visitors. Also (incredibly) you aren’t allowed to have a picnic here! What’s the point of coming for a day trip to a park where you can’t eat! Lastly many of the amazing pictures you see on the internet of this place are taken by people who have dangerously climbed a fence and scrambled down a steep gorge. The fire department was there saving a couple idiots who did this the day I visited. Very peaceful place with fire truck sirens blaring! Save your time and money and go somewhere else.
Great hiking spot with stunning lookout views. Absolutely enjoyed it. I would recommend adding a couple extra portable washrooms and maintain them. Had to leave the trail and drive to the nearest gas station to use their washroom, that kinda sucked.
Great view of Tew Falls and the lookout, but according to the map at the entry you should also be able to get to Webster's falls, but that trail was blocked off. $15 to park for a 30 minute walk is a bit much.
It was a rainy day, but the atmosphere made it very romantic, if I do say so!
A very beautiful place, lot of water fall. But too expensive, $10per car, and $5 per head.
Very well maintained trails along the top edge, there is a spot where you can climb down to the river and walk up to the falls from bellow. It's a very hard area to hike down even for us who do a lot of hiking. Only down side is that now you need to pay for parking (10$) and admission (5$/person)
Had a great experience yesterday visiting this area. Parking was at Christie conservation park(paid), then we took the shuttle over to Tew falls (stop #1) followed by Webster falls(stop#2). The shuttle system was great and organized allowing the most amount of people to visit these natural falls without overcrowding.
Beautiful waterfall and a pleasant hike to Dundas point. Unfortunately, there is no more connection to Webster's falls unlike when I visited last so you have to walk along the road to get between the two. Also, very busy place on weekends, be prepared to a crowded trail and wait time to view the falls or lookouts.
Nice water fall. The hike is pretty easy but it can be icy in the winter. There is a nice voting platform for the waterfall. The car park is pay.
The conservation area is really nice. Nice as in well maintained, lots of tracks to venture and in the end the fantastic view of Hamilton from the top. Just as any other parks, there will always be potential risk if you do not exercise caution. Certain part of the path to Dundas peak is a little narrower. Not narrow as in everyone must walk in a single file, but narrow as in extra caution when you are tracking with little ones. As they might trip or slip over the edge if not careful. Signs are around to provide warnings. The one and only thing that made me down grade this place to a sad 2 stars is the fee. For a family of 3 (2 adults and a 6 yo) it costs us $25 for a 2 hours track. We arrived late, around 3:30. Parked at Christie Lake and shuttled to the Dyndas Peak site. Having told the last shuttle back to car park leaves at 6:30. One might argue I could have arrived early so I can spend much longer and "make my money worth". Or you might say they need to cover for the shuttle fee. Or you might say the money goes to conservation. I agree these are all legitimate reasons. However, $25 to enjoy mother nature is just too much and it makes me feel that they are capitalising on it with me questioning where does that $25 I paid really goes to...
BOOK AHEAD!!!!! Be sure to book ahead on The Hamilton Conservation Authority website. I was completely unaware of this as we’ve visited many times for many years prior to these recent changes due to what they say is because of Covid 19. I feel it’s more of a cash grab by the HCA as after we arrived we were told that we need to book 24 hours advance through online registration. I checked out the registration system and they now charge you an additional $10 registration fee in addition to the $10 parking and $5 per person. Time is now limited to two hours time limit. The parking was pretty much empty yet turned away after a two hour drive for what they said was for social distancing measures. I’m pretty sure that we’d be more then 30-40 feet away from other visitors at any given time. The logic of this boggles my mind and feel the new system they have in place is to increase fees and capitalize on the current covid situation. If you’re lucky enough to be reading reviews and see this I’m sure you’ll have a great two hours. The views, trails and nature walk is a great way to spend time outdoors. It’s too bad they don't make it more accessible to people unaware of the HCA’s new cash grab.
Nice waterfall with easy trail for Dundas peak. Just surprised that you have to pay 30 dollars for 2 parents with a child for 2 hours time slot. It's almost double compared any other Conservation area. In Provincial parks, you pay 15-20 for …
