Ken Landry

Location was perfect for our event. Staff where friendly and welcoming. Love the gardens inside and out.

Danial Khorsandi

It’s beautiful , calm and one of the best places to sit under a tree and read your book. I found an interesting thing in this park and that was a wheelchair accessed playing tool in the park that I just loved to see that. Amazing. Also there is a stage that they play musics sometimes.

Lisa Groppo

Awesome park ❤

Taseer Aziz

loved the place. They have a green house which is filled with sub tropical plants . Also has a waterfall, pond with fishes and turtles . They also have a rose garden that you can visit.

Dawn Palfreyman

Just love the trees in this magical park. Great for picnics, people watching and sketching. My husband and I go to the fountain at night or the Bandshell during the day with our music and small speaker as well for dancing. Fun times! :-)

Jim Dunbar

The park is kept quite clean for the most part..cant help it if ignorant people still feel they can get high wherever they want but there is a need for a permanent bylaw officer to patrol the grounds for those who refuse to clean up their own mess or not follow bylaws. The squirrels are adorable and most people you encounter on your walks are friendly but this is NOT leash free park so be considerate of those who may be afraid of dogs.

Joanne Brigmantas

I'm really like that they have free parking by the baseball diamonds. Such a nice place for a leisurely dog walk. There are plenty of benches to stop, sit, enjoy.

Steve Willis jr

Harry

It is a good place. Not much rush and people follow social distancing. Good place for a nice walk, running, exercising or just a casual convo. June 2020 update - It can be a little crowded now at some times like weekends but it is fine as long as we all practice safe distancing measures. Go see and smell the Roses. It is beautiful.

Michael McKelvie

What an amazing, huge oasis in the city! We love coming here each time we return to Hamilton. So glad it's still being used by so many people after all these years.

Alex Hicks

Had a great time at the annual fall garden and mum show. Great park, plenty of parking at the time which was free and well maintained grounds and greenhouse. Staff during the show were very nice and friendly.

Bethany Stuive

Had a great time looking at all the exciting plants in the greenhouse!

The Ainzlee

If you're living in Hamilton, this is somewhere where that you should visit at least once. Most of the charity events are held here and also musical events as well. It's somewhere you should put on your list of places to go in Hamilton at least. Before going it's best to go when there is an event going on. If you're just looking for a place for a picnic it's pretty good as well.

Lucia Pizarro

Amazing playground. My four year old son LOVES IT. There's also a splash pad and an occasional wading pool.

Katherine Opitz

Lovely careful spot in Hamilton, quiet and clean, perfect to spend an afternoon walking/biking around, the greenhouse is under some renovation now, but still open, it’s a gorgeous garden! Don’t miss it!

Josh Wilson

Excellent park in East Hamilton. Amazing gardens, conservatory, greenspace, paths, BMX track, playground, splash pad, tennis, ball diamonds, a bandshell, a museum, and a beautiful fountain. This park has it all. Parking at South entrance.

Great festivals, greenhouse, parks, trails and flowers all year round. We just love to explore this park all the time

Sabrina Kostyshyn

A beautiful expansive park with tons of greenery and space. The water fountain is definitely a picturesque spot for any occasion. They have quite a big climbing structure for kids of all ages and an awesome splash pad as well. This park holds events such as festival of friends, Arts and Craft, musicians etc at the super cool Bandshell. It's awesome to hear the acoustics from it. Tons of shade and things to do so bring a blanket and some lunch and really take it all in!

John Kerr

My hometown of course I love to park nice wide open tattoo places to play with for kids it's got even a water area for kids it's a fun park it's got a fair bit of trees not very many as they used to it's more or less an open area for people to sit and relax got picnic tables but you cannot have any fires or open flame but other than that it's a nice park we got like 10 parts in Hamilton that are all really nice Victoria Park is another one it's actually an open Park it's got tennis courts and basketball courts it's one of the biggest ones for courts

Befus

This park has beautiful, garden lined walkways and large open fields suitable for various recreational activities. The botantical garden is here is lit. and so the rose gardens smell really nice. In conclusion I say go for it. It's a nice park

Charles Walker

Great park to go for a walk, play with the kids, throw a ball or frisbee and see some flowers. The greenhouse, especially the tropical wing, is quite beautiful. Also, many old growth trees and the parks position, right beside the escarpment, make for a very nice natural environment.

Ed Pecyna

Nice place for a long walk even as winter withers before spring emerges.

JKA

Beautiful day yesterday to run around the big green open space at Gage park. I never knew that bike track was there! We'll have to come back with wheels next time. Truck 44 was there too so having a great coffee was an added bonus

German Aviles

We visited the park starting spring, we still did not see the fullness of nature with its multiple colors. In summer the park has many different areas to enjoy.

Fred B

We were here for fall garden and mum. Beautiful flowers.

Joy Yu

This is a beautiful park with a loop around trail for walking and running. There's a large park and splash pad on the Westside of the park for family fun! There's a greenhouse on the Southside that is normally open and free to public. The middle area has a gorgeous rose garden that is great to visit in the summer when it's at full bloom. There's a beautiful fountain too! Our favorite are the big grassy areas and big trees that create shade, perfect for picnics and toddlers to practice walking.

Alysse Dupuis

A great thank you to the city for keeping it clean and looking pretty with horticulture great place to bring the family. Keep up the good work.

cristy caplan

Patience Stevenson Phillips

Going in the evening/night is probably the best time to get pictures of the skies.

Vasily Tregubov

Nice park, not many people

Mad Artist Publishing

A hidden gem of Hamilton and Greater Toronto Area as a Whole. The parks are a great place to walk or bike around. The free public Tropical rainforest is also awesome. It's a great place to bring kids to discover tropical plant life and see Lemons, Bananas, Plantains growing. The little pod with turtles, chicks walking around was also nice. This place is closed for private events, so make sure you call ahead!.

Mel Brooks

Gorgeous park with a greenhouse, walking paths, water fountain and so much more. This park hosts many events throughout the year and is always has someone around either walking or having a picnic. Great place to relax and get some fresh air.

Eco Mythos

The Amorphophallus collection is just amazing. And watch where you step! There are tiny tropical birds walking around! Place is a sizeable chunk of Heaven! Will be back!

Jessica Upper

It's your festival made a come back after 2 years of no festivals for only 1 day today from 2pm-11pm. They should make a come back more often. There wasn't any rides for the children but it still looked pretty good of not having a festival for a few years.

Monique Berry

Always something to see. The fountain is a favourite.

C-A Miller

This facility is amazing. Lovely smallish greenhouse!! So well designed! The mum show is my favourite attraction here! Always brings back memories from my childhood!

Oles Ivaniv

This park has one of the best children's playgrounds I have ever seen. Lots of unique rides. The whole playground area is covered in soft space turf material. We can't wait for the newly rebuilt Greathouse to reopen.

Susie Persaud

Gage Park is always a pleasure... Whether you're there for a scenic walk to get away from the hustle and bustle, hoping to see some beautiful flowers, or there with your kid for a play at the park, it's a lovely spot. And there's wifi!!

Paula L

I love going for walks or picnics in this park. There are plenty of shade trees under which to rest for on a hot day. The greenhouse has many beautiful tropical specimens to enjoy. Parking is convenient.

Yana Banzen

This is such an awesome greenhouse! They have so many species and they are all kept in such good conditions. The orchids are divine! So many tropical plants I was in heaven. I paint plants in watercolors so I was just obsessed with this place. Wanted to sleep under the giant palms for the night. But they kicked us out.

Jen C

Gage Park Tropical Greenhouse❤️

C Vaillant (Free Spirit)

At night night ...where the lights were .

Princess Ponytail

It's a lovely place. Huge well maintained. The children's playground is top class.it totally made my day to see an accessible swing there. The greenhouse is kinda small. Maybe some parts were closed due to covid. But well kept and beautiful. Worth spending a day or half. Don't forget the squirrels!

Bruno Polewski

Nice playground and splash pad. Beautiful gardens and fountain.

Vicki Kun

Tropical Greenhouse just opened and it is a nice relief from winter to spend time there. The opening coincides with the Spring Tide exhibit. Beautiful spring flowers await the lucky visitors. The only negative is the muddy road that leads to the Greenhouse from the parking lot.

Sandra Persaud

This is a great place to take someone on a date...guys, take a hint ;)

Wendy Rivera

Been visiting this park since I was 8 years old, the park just keeps getting more and more beautiful each year!

Jo Iskander

Decided to finally check out Gage Park... It's much, much larger than you might think! Has several large flower gardens, a dedicated rose garden, a lawn bowling club, a tennis club, a massive fountain (but doesn't work) with turtle sculptures, a bandshell, tons of old growth trees, nice view of the escarpment, wide open fields of nothing but grass, a green house, a little creek, a playground and splash pad, picnic area (BYOB = bring your own BBQ), Children's Museum, tons of benches, lots of garbage cans... and visible maintenance who are very friendly. It's super clean and well looked after. You'd have no idea all this was back here. Plenty of parking (enter at the lawn bowling club on the far side of the park) as well. Family and dog-on-leash friendly. Very peaceful -- city noises easily fade into the background.

Heather Mackenzie

Very large, very popular. Lots of dogs, walking path, 2 playgrounds, a splash pad, greenhouse, bathrooms, picnic tables and outdoor stadium.

Michelle Valletta

Best place to go to for the international overdose awareness day EVERY AUG 31 PLEASE COME OUT AND SUPPORT THE FRIENDS AND FAMILIES THAT ARE ADDICTS!! Brings close to me because my son died over a drug over dose almost 5 years ago!! I have a support group on Facebook. Mental health & Addictions support group..

Ankur

It was well maintained but was bit crowded (Weekend Morning). Iconic fountain is always a delight to look at but you will see some homeless guys hanging out around the fountain as there are electrical sockets they use to charge their phones. (Not complaining, May god help them live better)

Steve Porter

Great park.lots to do for all ages.splashpad, playgrounds , rose garden .the awesome greenhouse with fish, turtles , banana trees and so much more !!

Leonard E

It’s a family day at this beautifully maintained Hamilton park. Lots of nice trees and free access to parking and a tropical greenhouse. Even though the outside temperature is only 9 degrees, we are all having a great time. That’s because the grandkids get to run around...and expend their abundant energy. Yes, Grandpa has a secondary master plan!

Nick Accad

Do yourself a favor. Grab a *cold* drink, a book, and take some time in the greenhouse. In the middle of winter it is nice to pretend that you are taking a walk in the tropics :) And then relax with a book and a drink.

Fernando Guazo

This place is one of my favorites. In August is the best place to be there. Sit below some tree, something to drink, something to read, that's it.

Василий Иванович

Nice place, not too big. For hot days are really cool.

Milanpreet Kaur

Beautiful park!

Terrence Cook

Good park for the kids and is well kept. Very clean and a lot of shade

Sare Bear

People out enjoying life bird watching Dogs playing Beautiful scenery something to do while in lockdown

Andrew Boughner

Gage park is always a beautiful place to be in the summer. It's got free wifi throughout the whole park and a splash pad so you can cool off when it's hot. Definitely a place for everyone to go this summer.

Truth Is Heavy

One of the largest parks in hamilton. Lots of walking area and flowers. There is a rose garden located in the park as well as a greenhouse. The timing is short for the greenhouse, so if you want to see it, visit the area before 4 pm. Lots of parking available.

caren munday

Thank HAMILTON! ONCE AGAIN FESTIVAL OF FRIENDS was a great success, LOVERBOY sounded as if they were only 30 yrs old, I seen more there last night then the 30* years I've been going, Though I must say I give the boys an F for cutesy considering there were only 5 of us waiting THREE HOURS after the show for an AUTOGRAPH? And they wouldn't even ablidg us, was quite DISSAPOINTING, For we ALLL know where they would be WITHOUT FANS! IT will make me think twice before I'd give them my time of day again....

Unni James

Great place to visit. Lots of spring flowers. Cherry blossom and roses

Celeste N

A wonderful neighbour told me and my family about Gage park and how it was defiantly worth a visit, especially how Murdoch Mysteries were filmed there! And yes, I can't agree more, it's a beautiful park, perfect place for a stroll or to walk the dogs. I love the Locust Trees and all other trees, the gardens there are healthy and well designed.

It was fun here. I was having fun with my buddies on like the spinning thing, by like the waterpark and the playground. We were just having a blast. When I was also just walking around the park it was just beautiful, and almost breathtaking. I'd recommend the park to anyone.

Taz Mc

Nice park and seems to be busy night and Day.

T S

Beautiful fountain, summery feel, tons of plantation and flowers, and a very beautiful tropical greenhouse. Absolutely stunning. Free to get in!

Nicole Jade Booyse

Absolutely beautiful. A space in the city to get away from the city. Some great spaces for outdoor activities, pet friendly and maintained to an impeccable standard.

Natalie Pecyna

A jewel in the heart of Hamilton. Anyone can feel at peace here. Home to the Tropical Greenhouse. Photos from a recent visit of the storm water infiltration system and community gardens.

Kenny MacInnis

Gauge park ribfest was awesome had a great time with friends

Cecelia Lay

What is there to say about Gage Park.....this is a wonderful family afternoon outing. younger children (maybe some of the older ones too) will enjoy the Splash Pad off of Gage Ave. N (north end of the park), there is a large playground right next to the water. Large 100+ year old trees provide shade all over the park, walking paths take you from one end of the park to the other. The park grounds boost a beautiful greenhouse and gardens to stroll around admiring all the beauty nature has to offer. At the south end of the park the is a small park and a wonderful Children's Museum that we have not yet had a chance to visit, soon hopefully. In the center of the park there is a wonderful donation to the city of hamilton to honour a loved one, this fountain still runs and is a beautiful reminder of an important person in this citys history(it also offers a great oppertunity to add a bit of learning into your afternoon out). Bring your bike because you wouldn't want to miss out on the dirt trick area, do tricks, bounce off the hill and feel the air rush past your face. There is also an old fasioned band shell that the city offers live entertainment and music during the warm weather. I between all of these amazing free family activities there is beautiful lush greenerie from the soft grass to the tall trees this is by far one of Hamiltons Largest and most beartiful green spaces. however i do not recomend visiting with children after dark.

Katherine K

What a beautiful park! Unfortunately, We can’t review the Green House, and I would like to mention a …

Maria Ostapenko

Great place full of life. Love the greenhouse and all of the free events.

rahul sadavarte

This park is huge and is usually quiet. One can find a nice spot to relax or bring their family along with kids to enjoy. There's play area for kids. People come here for exercise or bring their dog for a walk. Lot of parking spots also available here.

Euno Negron

Big spaces, well kept

Sergio Andres

The Mum Show was definitely something worth to experience!

Ramsen Shemun

It was awesome to go there especially when there was a food festival going on best ribs I have ever had yesterday had a full rack of ribs ????. It has definitely changed a lot there is also a Greenhouse there if you love plants and nature.

Thai Takeout

Gage Park is an amazing place to bike, walk, hike or stroll. There's a lot of grass to play ball or lay down and watch the sky. Maybe even bring a blanket and have a picnic. They have a greenhouse as well with a lot of exotic plants. The jungle gym is fairly new with lots of swings, slides etc. Really great place to take your family out for the day.

Patrick Clarke

YOU have to BE There and Take a Walk ABOUT this Park is Very SPIRITUAL

Julie Norton

It was actually sad to see how dirty this park has become. Letting your children play is almost scary you don't know what they're going to get into or what they may pick up even if you're watching them. My friends son wanted to jump in some leaves and we were scared of what was in the leaves because of the amount of drug use in the park. The city of Hamilton really needs to step up and make these places safer for Children and Families.

Ramya Beesam

Great place to relax

al mayor

The indoor tropical garden was beautiful. Loved the exotic plants. The staff was very knowledgeable about horticulture.

Drew Boughner

Great park. I recently had the pleasure of living there as well as the beach and it was so nice. Myself and my wife would highly recommend you take the much needed time from work and spend the weekend at the beach. Then week days at our very own Gage park. Remember Mon.-thurs. move around the park. Spend a night in the rose garden. Or in a hammock by the ravine. Fri.-sat. Sleeping on the beach it's so relaxing.

Valerie Thomas

My kids didn't want to leave the park there's so much space to move around freely

gary louris

Used to be a great park but now being "developed", in more ways than one. Key point is to beware the many homeless tents that have been popping up for about 2 years now. Occasionally there are incidents involving the unsavoury folks that now live in this park. Despite there being a needle disposal box at the back of the childrens museum, you still need to be careful where you walk. You may also come across some black squares that have been spray painted on trees. This was done by the park staff to cover communist propaganda and other hateful graffiti that was painted on the trees. The paths are in the middle of being paved (they're already way off their posted schedule for the construction) and quite a bit of green space is being lost. The new greenhouse is beautiful however it is overrun with people and even more green space is being allocated so that it can be paved over for more parking. The front garden area is very nice with an array of plants, flowers, and trees. Unfortunately it is often a hiding or sleeping place for shady individuals. A sad decline at this park. This place is not policed well enough for being such a large park with so much activity. Then again the Beasley skate park is quite the rough patch despite being across the street from a police department building.

Elena Bulakhtina

Gage Park is my local park. I liked it better before the "improvements" have been made to pave some paths. Just leave green spaces and gravel paths alone! Nonetheless, it is a good place to walk a dog, run or play ball. The Greenhouse is worth visiting. The park could be crowded on weekends in a good weather. On those days, the parking could become problematic.

Sara Baldwin

Would love to give this Hamilton gem 5 stars but having no festivals or events is holding that back. Really that can be blamed on covid, but koodos to Hamilton for the update to the park. The money was invested well and the update enhanced …

Philip Lee

Nicest park I have ever been so far suitable for all ages. Gage Garden / Greenhouse opened up only for about a year and many interestng plants inside to explore. Rose flower garden at the back of the Greenhouse is well maintained. You will see a fountain in a short distance which is great for photo. Kids also spent hours at the playground and the splash pad. Nice picnic area in front of the Greenhouse with free Wi-Fi.

Pierre Proteau Proteau

It's the most beautiful Park in Hamilton it's got everything there water works for the kids got a band shell it's got a flower garden that is pretty renown just a nice place to enjoying afternoon or even a whole day

Paul Van Oosten

Good parking. Did not get to look in greenhouses as I was there for rib fest. They looked very nice though.

Ma de Lourdes Vigil Leon

It is a good park to go for a walk, I went with my family and we had a good time. Just there were some kids at the playground without parents supervition.

Monica Rothdeutsch

The mum show was beautiful. I made a pumpkin flower arrangement for $5. It was fun. Its over now. The new tropical greenhouse is really great. Turtle goldfish and huge gorgeous tropicals

Vincent Nanticoke

Went to the Landback Unity Jam. It was great!!! Good time!!! Can't wait for the next one...????????????

Viesia Pobega

Lovely manicured green area with with play area equipment in two separate parts of the park, lots of open area for sport activities and trees for shady relaxation. But would like to see a couple more benches as seniors need to rest more frequently during walks. Blessings to the groundskeepers.

Vorshini Ram

Lots of shade with the trees during the hot summer months. My pup loves to see the enumerous number of squirrels.

liesje dorder

What a beautiful part of Hamilton.... I went with my father in a group with his nursing home.... The flowers ???? where beautiful.... The staff were very friendly and easy to talk too... The great thing about this trip was it is always free to enter... They are open seven days a week... This is a great place to bring guests from out of town..

Mike Dean

Gage park is a very good park. I saw a kid absolutely demolish himself falling off one of the playground structures but he got up like a champ. Then a guy on drugs yelled at a little girl. Five stars.

Emily Donovan

Our family loves Gage Park. Whether we are out for a walk, taking the kids to the playground/waterpark, practicing riding bikes, visiting the greenhouse, attending a festival - five stars all around. There is plenty of parking (unless its a festival or event haha). The grounds are meticulously maintained and they are constanting manicuring and planting. And, despite the people constantly tossing garbage on the grounds, the staff keep it well maintained. The fountain is a sight to behold especially when they've recently treated the water. The rose garden is so beautiful when in full bloom. Lots of trees to climb. And of course, the bike track is a lot of fun for the kids (and adults). I also hear they're adding a skating rink this year, so that's just another perk! During the pandemic, the park is a little too crowded for our taste so we always wear our masks and don't play on the (usually crowded) playground. Otherwise, the park is still a pleasure to visit.

Syeda Sadaf

A good place to visit for picnic, for walk and workout and for kids to play. There is green house with exotic plants, a small rose garden and a consreved protected area with old large trees ????. And yeh, you also got a parking here!

Adriana Barbosa

The park is well kept and nice, you can take your dogs for a walk.

Wendy Stirling

Mum Show!!! Always a special experience!

Superb garden with lush green trees, jogging track and serene mountain view. The garden is quite huge and has a greenhouse as well Due to covid the Greenhouse is closed and so are the public washrooms closed inside. Currently there is a very beautiful cherry blossom tree so worth a visit to enjoy your evening ????

Brendan Balch (Brendyboi)

Gage park is a culmination of all that is wonderful about Hamilton. Come spend a few minutes here and check out the fountain. You've never seen water so exciting before.

Salim Alwaili

Good place for family and kids. Large green areas for people to sit nice play. Sometimes they run some festivals here.

Jessica Couch

Beautiful place to come be outside in Hamilton. The park is very well kept and lots of area to bring the kids. The tropical house and greenhouse are also very organized and beautiful.

Joseph Maracle-Jamieson

Great park and splash pad. Very scenic. Kids had fun. One negative though was the bathrooms weren't very clean.

Caila Muir

It's a spacious beautiful park with lots to do! Plenty of beautiful trees with historic information makes for a unique walk with the dog while learning history! There is a small park with a splash pad for kids and a few picnic tables and benches for parents to sit. They are renovating gages parks beautiful and well known green house, host festival of friends among many other festivals during the summer and on most days has three big open fields covering 75 akers of land. Located in the middle is a beautiful and historic fountain with seating areas are outlets. Dirt course for bikes and is surrounded by local stores and restaurants!

Stephen Gu

The greenhouse is so much smaller than I expected. Lots of ppl are there for work/studies, which isnt expected either. I did see many pretty flowers and plants though.
