We went to play volleyball at the sand courts off of Victoria, and they are doing some construction in the area - I truly did not know how to get to the courts. Eventually found my way to park the car though still confused how to walk in to the court. We figured it out :-) Only down side (other than the sun-hot sand burning our feet!) was the amount of animal droppings that needed to be avoided. Other than that, it was super fun!

Jay Stengel

Beautiful park all four seasons. Follows the Eramosa river, there's a wide, tended oath just along the edge of the woods, which border the river. There's also random foot paths that run through the woods, going right to the edge of the water. You almost feel as though you're out of the city, nature sounds are plentiful, and the opposite side of the river is heavily wooded (hiding a golf course) adding to the effect of being in nature. A Guelph treasure.

Beautiful greenery a d trails ????

Bren Irwin

Lovely area, so nice to see people out and about, enjoying their lives and letting their children play in the play grounds. The path along the river is lovely. The plaza near by has grocery should you find yourself in need of a snack or drink. There's also the coffee chain and liquor store near by as well as the typical burger joints. I highly recommend taking in the fresh air. Walking Edinburgh to Victoria and back is a nice walk and doesn't take too long. Ample parking along the routes too.

Tony M

A surprising green space, doesn't look as big from the road as it is. The bike trail runs right by here, it's right along side the river, and there are some nice volleyball courts here.

Such a nice place to walk. Great for the kids. Can walk along the river there and it's peaceful. Someone has invested a lot of time (maybe a school project) painting little doors and signs and posting them all around the park. It was so cute. It's an easy walk and if you stay on the path it's stroller friendly. We walked in the trees to be closer to the river though.

A placid engineered river with banks gradually naturalizing and some native plants and trees on the North side. The South side of the river, however, retains many native trees and plants. A long unused and dwindling embankment for an (electric) rail line follows the river here and makes it an easy hike between Gordon and Victoria Streets. One can rent a canoe in the summer months at "The Boathouse," a restaurant on the North side of the Speed river just East of Gordon Street. The paddle upstream from here onto the Eramosa River is easy and beautiful. The River is navigable without portaging for perhaps 4 kilometers. With the exception of one very shallow area it's easy to paddle to Stone Road.

I took my daughter for a walk through the park to look at the fairy doors. It was amazing how much joy it brought her. She loved looking high and low for them. With each one her excitement grew. I hope the city doesn't room them. They bring so much joy to kids who still believe in princess, fairies and unicorns.
