What a cool place to check out, great for a family outing. Check the hours before you go.
Great park , can be difficult to park near by. Has food trucks serving drinks and food . You can see it in one hour .
An extremely beautiful place with tons of eye-catching flowers.
Nice biking trails but no garden sculptures unfortunately. Very disappointing as Google Maps portrays this area as an amazing tourist site. Unless you like goose-paloozas, this is not the tea sis.
Great parking always hosting major events for Ottawa 2017
Beautiful park with a riverside view
it is not a botanical garden
We went and checked out the mosaic. It was amazing. I would recommend it to families.
Winterlude was amazing! So much fun! The snow sculptures were spectacular!
After seeing the photos we really liked it and wanted to have some good experience. But after seeing the place we really disappointed because there are no sculptures. I think those were made for some event and then removed after that. Park is great for walkers and readers who enjoy silence.
Beautiful park. Clean. Nice view of the water and sail boats. Very lovely and a hot spot for biking.
Seen the MosaïCanada 2017 Tribute show to help celebrate Canada turning 150 years old!!!! Its a miraculous place displaying all different Canadian things. Grab a snack & friends & camera & head out! Seen at Jacques's Cartier Park. Parking nearby. Staff awesome to help you with anything. Porta potties on site as well as being wheelchair accessible so all can go. Beautiful work check it out.
Amazing place . There are so many tourist places around the world. Only some places will always register in our mind and still there be in our gallery or Dp to cherish the moment . definitely this place will be one of those. The concept of mother earth and the future extinct animal was really amazing. The photos shown are very less , it will be more beautiful and colourful in your eyes.
I went here during the Canada 150 Mosaic event. It was a very nice park to just take your time and walk through. The only downside was parking was a bit pricey.
Great little park. Often hosts special events.
Wow... incredible trees and flower sculptures... just minutes away from Ottawa
What a lovely sculptures from plants and flower. Must see place.
I feel the Gatineau side of the Ottawa River doesn’t get as much recognition as Ottawa. The views are actually better from this perspective due to being able to see the skyline of Ottawa. Jacques Cartier Park is a great space for that. Lately though it’s been off limits due to the maintenance requirements. Once open again it will be a pleasant space to enjoy and take in the environment. ????☺️
lovely park, home of the Einterlude for Gatineau-Hull and many other seasonal recreation ... photos were taken during MosaiCanada 2017 event
We visited this park while passing through Ottawa/Gatineau. Beautiful park with a great view of the Parliament buildings.
In summer 2021 the park is under renovation after two years of the stupid Mosaiculture exhibit. The grass is completely fenced off and inaccessible. The grass looked great; supposedly the fences will be removed soon.
PARK'S name commemorates the name of an early leader of French colonial imperialists set on looting and plundering for the glory and swelling coffers of the motherland... For aboriginal peoples, it was the beginning of a centuries long nightmare which continues...
Beautiful park and amazing natural sculptures. Lots of options to eat around there. Be ready to speak French
Nice to visit during the summer days! Lots of green to enjoy.
Mosaicanada150 is beautiful! Only downside of this venue is parking is hard to find.
Loved the views and activities.
If you haven't seen the Sculptures made of all natural living greenery, then go quick! I likely will not be there for 2018
Park is decent but there not flower sculptures…photos on google seems pretty old… If you are tourist and wanted to see the sculptures…don’t bother..
The wildlife, vegetation make me so close to nature ; the charming bank of river offer you a gorgeous view of the capital city, especially on the Canada Day!
The living sculptures were amazing! There were great walking trails and lots of places to relax by the water. Every so often there were booths that sold snack/drinks which were needed on the hot summer day. We would happily go back.
Very beautiful floral sculptures... a must see for everyone ????
Everything around the Parliament Hill area is world class. Well worth the walk around this area for some great monuments, views and architecture.
No garden sculptures this year, very dissapointing. There is also some construction happening. Other than that, the park is decent and has a nice waterfront. 3 stars since its not as great as it was advertised in the years before.
We attended Winterlude and it was a lot of fun. They had ice sculptures, snow sculptures, and huge sledding hills! The park is beautiful with an awesome view of Parliament Hill across the river. I highly suggest visiting this park.
All the cool photos of green flowery sculptures are apparently from 2018. Now it's just an open field. Don't travel here for the sculptures. They don't exist.
Large and beautiful waterfront park with some wildlife. We visited it at the beginning of June when the installation with flower sculptures wasn’t opened yet. But it was interesting to look at these sculptures being made. I liked Canadian flower sculptures more than the similar ones in Dubai.
You can see the craftsmanship put into these sculptures. Worth visiting and is a big tourist attraction. One of the best garden's I've been to.
Walked across the footbridge from Ottawa to see the sculpture garden. Huge lineup but it moved well and took 15 minutes to get in. Beautiful horticultural display where Canadiana is interpreted. Anne of Green Gables, the Gold Rush, Haida animals, the Canada/Russia hockey game to name a few. Mother Earth is the grand finale.
This park is a must go. You will love to walk, see the sculptures while listen to the sound coming from them.
Beautiful park with great views of the Ottawa river and Ottawa downtown core!
Amazing! Place of many activities, great for family, pest recommended!
Nicely trimmed Bush's abound!
Simply, is a Beautiful Place, transports you to another world, fascinating, love it☆
Beautiful park with lots of events during winterlude
Lovely day walking around the park. The MosaiCanada exhibit was on and the statutes were wonderful
Was an amazing experience. Will definitely go again.
Amazing Park, beautiful garden with incredible theme for mosaicanada 150, great view near the Ottawa river. Love it.
We had a ton of fun at our first winterlude! So much to do and the park was beautiful. We loved the snow sculptures.
The Canada 150 exhibit was really great!
Very beauty park. You can see there the bridge that separate Ontario to Quebec
It's a beautiful green space right on the Ottawa River. A stone's throw away from the Byward market.
Large open space, along the Quebec side of the river. While we visited the Mosaicanada was showing.
An Amazing place to be , you can find parking in near by place if the main lot is full, we paid 10 bucks in a street close by. They do check the bags , front being anything glass other than they will check and let you in. You can take water and pop, also any food in plastic containers. Enjoy your time here it's well worth it.
So much fun for adults and children.
Restoring the parks grass and habitat, but lovely place for walking.
I love this place. It was my first time in Ottawa and I’m glad I have been there. I have never seen anything like this before. The arts were so realistic and interesting. They combined culture and mix them into beautiful art pieces. Appreciate the founder of the Jacques Cartier Park.
Great park to explore. Beautiful place to go for a walk.
Winterlude has some great winter sculptures built and tubing so it was a cool night out.
Calm beautiful park, great to do picnic, relax or go for a walk, you can rent a bicycle in summer.
Magnificent place for children to play with snow games
I went there to see the flower sculptures on 6th sep 2021 but didn't find any. Not even the frames...!! I guess the pics uploaded by others on google are from couple of years back.
Beautiful park with a long cycling path. They have a nice bridge-like structure which is really nice to walk on. You get a great view of the entire city from here. Don't expect to see those statues, they built them for a show and they are long gone!
MosaïCanada was beautiful! Well laid out and not too long if you have kids.
That really was a pleasant experiment of being in a beautiful nature with so many people in our lovely home, Canada.
Bike path east and west both great. Parking details easy to follow.
It was the most beautiful place I had been to! The pictures tell more!
Nice biking trail along the river.
The place was barricaded and there was no sculptures that we see on pictures here. Totally disappointed
Dog friendly and very beautiful maintained paths. Great for biking too!
Disappointed. The magical garden you see on Google are no longer in this park. They were already taken down last year. We were disappointed; we really thought it was still there cause of the google photos that were posted. According to the lovely couple who told us this piece of information, the garden show is now in Montreal. However, this is still a nice park for a walk or to ride a ride. And there’s this nice view of the bridge by the water. Good enough for an instagram post! There’s also a boat tour available. Parking is a little hard to find, and quite expensive.
Went for Canada Day. Far better than being on the hill, only a couple of hundred well behaved families watching the fireworks with an incredible view. NO MOSQUITOS! There are food and drink vendors so you are able to enjoy your time. Stage was set up for musical entertainment. .. this is where it falls apart. There is so much great Canadian talent out there but there was no effort into pulling in any very talented artists for this big day. No. You don't need Famous names, but you need better than karaoke singers. When the fireworks start, turn off the terrible techno terrible music. The entertainment is at that time the fireworks, don't compete with that, let it be what it is.
Nice park. Lots of space and parking. Might start bringing the grandkids there.
The photos on Google Maps are old. There is no attraction or tourist spot here. It's nice and beautiful, a very decent park - but not a place to visit as a tourist
Nice place to have a good view to the Parliament from Gatineau. There is also a bike path that runs along the river that offers a nice view and biking path. Overall, would recommend having a walk or bike in that path for a nice view and cool breeze from the water
Beautiful place! Attended the mosaïcanada festival and 100% recommend it.
Very nice and relaxing park! Plenty of space to walk or for bicycles!
Great gardens. Lots of amazing sculptures made from living plants
I am so glad my wife convinced me to come. It was a good experience seeing this artistic garden with a lot of history behind it. Take your family and enjoy a lovely Sunday afternoon.
A beautiful place to walk, sit, cycle, or take a boat tour from. We enjoyed our visit. There's just a bit of construction going on now.
Had a great time at Winterlude. The slides are great this year. There are only the tubing slides this year so might not be as fast as the ice covered last year but still awesome. There is only one slide zone so no mini one for the little ones. The slides are the central piece of the new location. I also saw there was no maze this year, so missing that part of the event.
Beautiful park with great views of Ottawa skyline.
Must go see! MosaïCanada 150. Beautiful exhibitions you will want to take lots of pictures. Its open until Oct 15,2017, so go now and see. Since we are starting to get colder weather and rain, a rain jacket (umbrella too) and warmer clothes is a good idea. Takes about 1h-2h to go over all the landscapes but depends if there's lots of people, as they will want to take lots of pictures too. There is no picnic area in the park so consider eating some place nearby. You can pay parking outside, or walk a couple of blocks to find street parking, either way its worth it, the entrance to the park is Free!
Amazing giant plant sculptures for Canada's 150th celebration!
Beautiful park. Went there for the MosaiCanada exposition running until Fall 2017. Well worth it!
I stop by the park today to take in the MosaiCulture exhibit, where they make sculptures and art displays out of various plants, flowers and grasses. Most of the displays had signs with works of literature or historic events which inspired the design. Some even had audio effects or music to go with them. It was absolutely fantastic, and I enjoyed it a great deal more than I even expected. A big shout out to the park for bringing in such a wonderful display.
Best place for nature loving people. A place which gives peace of mind. Work as eye coolant for flower lovers.
Lots of green space and colorful trees at just minutes from downtown
Nice place to take a walk. Literally nature two steps away from the city.
So pretty. Visited the park before 3rd phase was lifted. We enjoyed walking in these great park. Family friendly and the river is clean.
It is nice to walk around the park and of course seeing the Maurice the rocket Richard statue. The statue is probably more of an attraction for older Habs fans, but being a diehard leafs fan, it is not as big of a deal for me lol. If you come here, make sure you walk around the waterfront to enjoy the view. The park is also known for special seasonal events as well.
One of the best attractions around Downtown Ottawa for families.
One off the most relaxing walk I have done. The view off the river from the other side is amazing.
Visited for Winterlude festival. Free slides, a lot of activities. We had fun.
Beautiful park, loved Richard's statue, big Hockey fan and marina is small not too crowded, no bathroom here except for construction workers took over out house and even put a chain and lock around it ! Asked workers if I could use it and he said no only for workers!!
Got to see the show art in Jacques-Cartier Park tonight. How gorgeous!
Sick place to hang out on a beautiful sunny spring day #slackline #420
Great place for family all year around
My favorite park in Ottawa. Spring and fall bring the best mushroom harvest in Ottawa. Relax with whitetail deer. Wild Turkey everywhere. The biggest Alqonqin sediment in Canada. Great carp fishing. And a spitaculer wooden ship wreck.
The Mosaic exhibit was amazing. So beautiful and very well set out.
Woweee. Still getting over the amazement. Beautiful. Creative. Never been to a place like this. Thumbs up.
The hortultural scuptures are amazi g
Beautiful spot, lots of parking! Great place to spend an afternoon.
Best spot in city to watch fireworks on normal Canada. Today it was cancelled as usual but they had independent groups that did Quebec vs Ottawa and they didn't disappoint. Well done gentleman and ladies. Well done indeed. If I came prepared and didn't just have my horrible phone camera this review would definitely be accompanied with some pictures but don't hate on the guy cus he chose to carry beers on the bridge instead. Happy Canada Day everyone!!!!!!
Under Alexander Bridge and close to Ports, it's a nice place for fun and relaxation
It's an amazing park but most of it is fenced to grow the grass. Still good for photos and for walks or bike rides...
A lot of fun for the 40th Winterlude!
Wow... Beautiful structure of different shapes of people's and animals that was far beyond our thoughts. All design were made with green natural plants and grass. I recommend whosoever visit Ottawa never miss this wonderful place to visit.
Nice park this year with the living garden.
Great place to visit, there was a garden event and was very busy. There was a huge line up but we did not wait too long.
MosaïCanada 150 is a must visit. Free entry and open until October 15th. The sculptures are incredibly impressive.
The mosaic garden was beautiful The volunteer guides did a really good job explaining all the different exhibits It was for Canada 150 so I'm not sure if they'll be here in 2018 but I did see a petition so they might
This post should read - Mosaiculture It is an amazing experience, worth every cent. A must see attraction. You won't believe what they've done with plants and the ambiance is great.
Beautiful exhibition. All made of plants! The attention to details is absolutely amazing. Unfortunately, it's closed now.
Really nice place to walk around with your family, and the special exhibit for the 150th of Canada was great
Who made this was an amazing place that was a display of mosia Canada here this time and we went to see this place. It was well decorated and was stunningly guard sculptures from the plants and flowers which would just blow your mind. in general the spark is really good for walks or taking your dog, or even biking. This is not a really big part but you can spend good quality time along the river and in the park I would definitely recommend going here.
Great green space with a breath-taking view of Ottawa skyline from across the river. They hosted Mosaicanada, a topiary event to mark Canada's 150, this year. Visited the park three times for that and had a great time on every visit. Just wish there were some coffee shops, etc., close by to allow you to grab some snacks and enjoy them at the Parc.
Very lovely park. :)
Beautiful clean park but finding a parking space can be a pain, then again we were there at a very busy period during the exhibition
The garden that people are seeing on google is not there anymore. A lot of people come from different places in canada, drive down and it actually isn’t there anymore since COVID-19. So if you are coming for that garden art. It’s not there, it’s just a park
