Great place for kids to run around for 3 hours
AMAZING for my 17 month old. Not as many physical activity as some other children's museums. My 6 year old liked it but I don't think we will take him too often.
We have spent a great time there, so we have a membership now
Great place for kids. Go early and you will not have to wait to drive the bus :)
Perfect for small kids. They will love it. Wish you didn't need to buy museum pass with it by the kids were over the moon.
Excellent place for kids! Total chaos with all the little people running around yelling which I think is testament to a fun place. Various different cultures and parts of the world are presented through hands on activities and you can collect a little passport and stamp it at different countries you have 'visited'. There's art's and crafts dotted around, costumes for dress up and different vehicles for them to mount & pretend to drive. It's a cool idea and well laid out. Best part is that entry price is included in the larger museum entry! There's a number of places for parents/guardians to sit for a rest. Also pretty handy are the toilets right there rather than having to go into the larger museum. Its quite compact making it easy to locate your kids once they've run off
Best part of the museum for young children but the museum is a must see for everyone
A great place to let children play, do crafts and use their imagination.
Had a wonderful visit. The staff was great and very helpful. We visited artifacts that were once family owed. Viewed these with staff whom were very well informed and helpful. Thank you to everyone for the wonderful visit.
Great place to spend the day with the kids, they have different countries in the children's museum with their clothes, food, etc. There's also a Imagination playground, where they can build, climb and have fun. Beautiful outdoor area by the river next to the museum.
We love this place. Colorful, noisy and wonderful. The kids always have a blast. Every exhibit is hands on
Glad I got to take my son before they closed for renovations. I am looking forward to seeing it when they reopen.
This place is a family favorite. It's hard to beat for an Ottawa excursion on a rainy day for young children.
Excellent Museum for Children especially the multi-cultural area
Amazing place for kids to have hours of fun
A wonderful bonding time with my 5 year old Grand Daughter!
Very good place to visit
It's actually good. We can get in house stroller and move around the museum. Many things to keep your toddler active.
World class!
Wonderful place to visit while at the big museum
My 7 year old boy says this...it was fun.
The Ottawa Childrens museum was sensational, very busy and lots to do. Our 2 girls had a blast 4 and 5 years old. Only down side, they are left alone and it does feel overwhelming if children are unattended since there is hardly any staff to watch over toddlers. Other than that, we had a great time and fun worldly experience!
Beautiful and nice the children really love it we have a good time
Wonderful! So worth the trip! A lot to do that stimulates children's learning and energy!
Very interesting place. Everything can be touched and played.
Lots for kids to do here. Our kids loved it.
Boooooriiiing! For the cost, not worth it. The only good part is the adorable pizzeria but depending on how busy it is, you might not be able to get a go at it because it’s really the only thing to do there. Adults could appreciate this covert very small setup more than children. They definitely need more child friendly and child focused activities.
Loads of things for kids to do. My kids (3 & 6 years old) had a ball.
Kids wanted to go back the next day.
One of the best museums in Ottawa Gatineau area
There’s always something to interest even the most active little boy. I love this place
One of the bests (if not the best) i've ever been to. Hours of fun. I highly recommend it with more than 5 stars
Beautiful museum with lots to see for everyone of all ages! Also beautiful view of Parliament from the lovely grounds.
Great place for toddlers to run around explore. Very safe environment, help encourage childs desire to explore and learn. They give you a passport booklet for your little one to stamp. They have little ports, ships, coffee shops, pyramids, camels. The ticket is 20 dollars for adults. Kids under two is free.
Very large interactive museum located inside the Museum of Canadian History and included in the price of admission to the latter. There is a range of activities including a working theatre for the kids to explore being on stage, costumes and working sound and light. Kids can control a working crane, pretend to drive a bus, tuk tuk, motorcycle, shipping boat, camel... The landscapes are colourful and miniaturized so that children can feel like adults. There's a room with giant foam blocks to build whatever they can imagine. There's an arts and crafts room. My kids enjoyed it immensely and is totally worth the price of entry.
This is a great place to play and learn!
My kids love this place !
My kid loves it. Ilove it even more!!!
Kids enjoyed the place. And Honestly. We did too.
Hours of great play for ages 3-12.
Thursdays 1700-2000 (5-8pm), is free access to all the museum. It's well worth the trip. I used to love it as a kid,, and my kid loves it also
Great views of the city from the balcony outside. Love taking my toddler to the children's museum. The temporary exhibits are great, recently it was Daniel the tiger, currently its Doc McStuffins. The cinema screen is also a treat to have right there, plus a coffee from second cup too.
It is my favorite place to take the kids on THURSDAYS ... you just need to pay for parking, everything else is FREE !!
Very impressive, the kids had a great time. Will go back for sure.
Great staff! All the kids I’ve taken here love the hands on activities and crafts you get to take home. Perfect spot to spend half a day exploring and creating.
We enjoyed our visit here, it had been 10 years since our last visit. Our youngest had as much fun as our oldest did 10 years ago.
Amazing place. You need one whole day to enjoy everything.
I took my grandchildren there, ages 4 and 7. It was so much fun for them and myself. Very interactive and entertaining. After several hours there, we had lunch at the Bristol, reasonable prices, then to the Imax. All around, perfect day for all of us.
Wonderful children's museum! Just the right size for a few good hours of entertainment and exploration. All of the displays are beautifully designed and there are plenty of opportunities for interactive play. Would definitely recommend.
My kids love this place and insist on going back again and again.
Rebranding effort is paying dividends. Hockey night at Cine+ was a treat.
My two year old son could have spent all day here; there's so much to see and do!
The children's museum is guaranteed fun for little kids. Lots of taxtile, hands on fun for kiddos. Running around getting their 'passports' stamped and trying not a miss a thing is a sure fire way to spend all-day playing at this museum.
First field trip with my last little one. Fun stuff.
The kids loved the place.
Great place - kids (age 10, 8, and 6) lov d it!
Although low tech, our children and all the other children we saw there had a great time. There are lots of activities and fun to be had by all. The passport activity is a great idea to ensure that you don't miss anything.
The whole family enjoyed the trip here. Lots of interactive exhibits.
The passport hunt was great fun for the kids.
Great place to take the kids! My daughter loved it
Full of incredible activities. Hours of fun!!
It's a lot of fun for children. The museum is set up in different stations. Children get a passport when they arrive and can get a stamp at each one of the stations. Examples of stations are a theater where kids get to dress up and go on stage, a post office, a bus which is super popular as kids can sit behind the wheel (don't worry, it does not drive ;-)), a British phone booth, a cargo ship and lots of interesting places from all over the world. A special highlight is the crafts room where the museum sometimes organizes crafts for the children. Really a great place. The Children's Museum is in the same building as the Canadian Museum of History.
I recommend it ????????????‼️ it's beautiful
Great museum wit a lot funny things to do and to see.
Amazing! Great place to bring children of all ages. Highly interactive, educational place to play and see the world! The tatami in the Japanese house reminds me of living there! The pyramid rocks! Friendly, helpful staff!
Great place to entertain the kids, NY for year old can spend hours in here so perfect for those wet wintry days.
Visit takes about 3 hours. Kids (6 & 3 y.o.) enjoyed the time there. There's also a quite good cafeteria in the building which makes it easy for lunch.
Plenty to see and learn , some of the exhibits are just marvellous. Easily Need half a day to see all
Very nice, but it was full of people when we went.
Very good place for children to use their imagination and have a great time. Tough to keep track of the little ones as there's lots of places for them to hide.
I... Do the whip and nae nae because i yes abd the queen do yes nae queen
Amazing! Lots to do and see. Magical place for kids AND adults
The best place to spend time with your kids, entertaining, educational, inspiring ...
Very neat place! Our kid had a day full of fun playing with all the interactive areas. Go early though. It’s hard to maneuver around with a stroller when it gets busy.
Great museum. Pretty interesting for children
Find out Canadian history. Fun place to visit for the children too.
What a great place for kids! My 4 and 7 year old had a blast and could have played there all day if we had the time. It was all very well thought out, and was super interesting.
Interactive around the world experience for children. Provides something to do that will kill a couple of hours and has special exhibits throughout the year. Recommended all year.
Great museum for kids and adults alike!
We had a great visit. Lots to see and do for both boys. We really enjoyed our visit and would recommend it to other families.
Could learn other culture for children, but it costs some
This place us AWESOME. I'll certainly returned. We had a great time and my granddaughter will certainly be enthusiastic about returning to that little piece of paradise for little people and big kids at heart.
Great family fun and lot's of kid friendly activities
Very very expensive. It was nearly 60 for us to take our 3 year old.
The best! 100 % worth to visit. It is interesting for children and for adults!
Amazing displays of important aircraft including space items. Please enjoy a visit here.
This was a great evening activity for my 7 year old during the holidays. Not giving 5 stars only because the navigational spaces aren't designed for as many people as there were at the time that we were there. Loud and crowded, I had a hard time keeping her in my sights around corners and other people. She had a great time though.
A great place for kids to spend a few hours exploring!
My kids had a blast! Didn't want to leave.
Severely in need of more cafes or restaurants that parents can feed their children easily.
Great place! Wonderful play-space and staff! My girl loved it!
One of the very good place to go with your kids lots of activities. We have spent so much time in the merchant area. Very fun.
Leave plenty time for this! We went with kids aged from 2 to 10 and they all loved it. It was very difficult to leave!
There's a kids section that's good for young kids but there's only a general admission and its impossible to enjoy the rest of the attractions with young kids. There should be an admission for just the kids museum since that's all you can do with them.
36$ for a 4year old and 1 adult it's very expensive and not a lot to do :-(
My son LOVES coming to this museum. We always discover something new
Kids love it even as they get older
Super busy day if you are taking in both the children's museum and history museum! Arrive at opening if you want to see everything!
Verry colorful place with a lot of visual history :)
Really great place for the Kids .
Great place to take kids! There are a lot of nooks and crannies for young kids to disappear from your sight line, so make sure to have enough adults. For kids under 5, I would take no more than 2 kids per adult; a 1:1 ratio would be better. There is stroller parking available, and I would recommend parking them. Some of the paths are too tight to easily maneuver a stroller, especially with so many children running about with parents at their heels. There is no microwave available in the cafeteria, so either plan to purchase food or take a lunch/dinner that doesn't need to be heated up. The cafeteria accepts cash, credit & debit. Make sure to take refillable water bottles with you unless you want to pay $3 per bottle in the cafeteria. The food is decently priced, but the bottled drinks are definitely not. I love that there is a Beavertails store there! (For those of you who don't know: beavertails are famous & delicious local pastries.) Members get 10% off in the cafeteria, so make sure to show your card. (They won't ask you whether or not you're a member.) Not sure why this isn't on the menu, but they do have a decent veggie burger if you ask for it. The fries are gross though, so pick another side. If the weather is nice, the outdoor patio is right on the Ottawa River and has a great view of the Parliament Buildings. If you're driving there, you may have to put 'The Museum of History' in your GPS; the Children's Museum is inside of the Museum of History (formerly the 'Museum of Civilization'). Note: unlike in Ontario, it is illegal to turn right on a red light in Québec. (If it's a right turning lane with just a yield sign - the kind with the little triangular 'island' - then it's fine as long as you yield to traffic that has the right of way.) There is paid parking available in an underground garage. Expect to pay around $12.50 for parking if you're not a member and around $9.50 if you are. (Members will receive a coupon from the security guard at the entrance of the Children's Museum - the one who stamps people's hands & gives out the 'passports' - and they do usually ask if you parked downstairs.) I believe that the machines take credit cards only, but I'm not 100% sure. Make sure to take the correct elevator: one elevator is just to go to the parking garage (the one by the escalator near the admissions counter) and the two elevators next to the gift shop / coat check go down to the cafeteria. I would plan to stay for around 2-3 hours with young kids; with older kids, you could stay there all day without their getting bored. There are also documentary movies showing there that you can purchase tickets to see; I don't think younger kids would enjoy them, but grade-school kids might find them interesting. There is a gift shop with all kinds of toys, games, clothing, and other memorabilia. There is a baby nursing room & the bathrooms have drop-down change tables.
Great fun for little ones
Amazing time with my son.
Great place, kids love it. Can spend the entire day
Awesome. Tons of space and things for kids to explore and play with. Attentive staff always around tidying up.
Very nice, give yourself at least 2 hours to go through everything. A bit pricey but decent experience.
Nest place take kids,love it.
My five Grandchildren aged 2,3,5,8 and 10 were all enthralled by this museum. None of them wanted to leave. Well done Canada.
An amazing experience for children of all ages. Allow for 3 to 4 hours so that the kids can complete their passport.
Such a fantastic place to take the kids, toddlers included! Be prepared to spend a couple of hours here at least, so fuel up beforehand or take a break and grab a bite in the lobby. When the kids need a little break, tour the rest of the museum. Highly recommended to add to your list of must visits when in Ottawa/Gatineau!
Love it! So amazing for little kids! Basically a massive playroom full of forts, toys, cars and interactive stuff!
The best children's museum that you will ever find! Kids can dress up, run, climb, play with theatrical equipment, get in cars and buses, and reach area is a new country or idea. Incredible detail for kids. They can get their passports stamped at reach spot and play with other kids. Amazing!!
My daughter loved this place, lots to interact with
Perfect museum for kids. I really enjoyed it with my toddler.
I will always return to this museum. It is absolutely well priced and great experience. Whether you are adults or kids, there is something for everyone. I have done school trips here and recently brought my 11month old. He had a blast!!!
It’s a bit small but it’s a nice place to go to with the family and kids. You can spend a fun day if your kids are under 10 years of age. I highly recommend it.
I brought my baby cousin are he adored it there is something for every one, really all ages. Super fun.
Great place for kids. Why? Because I remember being here 15+ years ago when I was a kid and having a great time. If your child remembers activities years after the fact, you know it was worth it.
Beautiful place and lots of fun and learning for kids
So many lovely activities for kids to enjoy! Lots of little pavilions n country oriented activities n settings. Great way for young minds to explore n learn! There was also an instrument making session which was just great! Mom n dad enjoyed it too. Those weary of crowds, go prepared...there will be lots n lots of kids running around and it will get noisy but if that bothers you, wait out n let your better half take care of your child inside while u go chill at the cafe in inside the museum itself!
Great place to take your kids so they can explore, learn, play and run around too. We had a good time and it was fun to learn facts about different countries. If you visit with little kids, always check on them as they can easily get lost. We went on a Monday and stayed 2 hours , not busy and loud, just a few kids running around .
Perfect to enjoy with the hole family, we loved it!
Great place but get there early before it gets too busy. :)
Best day ever! Spent most of the day having a great time with the family. Fun for kids and adults alike!
Great for the whole family. Interactive fun learning experience. A must see!
Our 2yr old son enjoyed the children's museum and the masks and totems in the pacific coast exhibit.
For children only. Younger than 6 would enjoy the most.
Kids love it and its very interactive which is nice
Love it there. The kids could have spent all day there
We went there with our family. pretty cool place not enough to do.
Absolutely an amazing place to take kids. Lots for them to see and do. All kinds of crafts.
Great place for kids to spend some time.
Must visit place in Ottawa. Kids have lots of fun. Film could have been short since 45 minutes is lot of time.
Lots of fun and interesting stuff for kids, easy a 4 hour entertaining activity.
While I don't recommend going on family day weekend. I do HIGHLY recommend making time to go to the Canadian Museum of History and specifically the Canadian Children's Museum located inside. It is amazingly fun, well thought out and every child's dream. It might be every parents logistical nightmare but again - go off peak. Planning to go again whenever we are back in the area!
Very nice specially the free Thursday evenings!
The Children's Museum part of the Canadian Museum of History is phenomenal! I took my 3.5 year old there, and she had an amazing time! The children's part has many small to medium exhibits that are designed for the attention span of kids. The theatre is top notch. It gives kids a chance to play dress up, "act" on stage, and play with theatre sound and lights. There are several structures set up for playing make believe, like a post office, shops, a ship, and a kitchen. Mine stopped into each to play with other kids. There are even crafts, like where kids can color and cut out shadow puppets, then put on a show. .... And lots more! It's a bit expensive, but it's worth going with young kids if you've never been. It gets busy though, so be prepared to chase your kids around through a crowd of other kids and parents!
I have so many good memories of this part of the museum of history and I hope everyone gets a chance to see the amazing thing that is this museum.
Great place for young children. A very interactive space.
My granddaughters, 4 and 2, love it. They can run and play with other kids and experience so many activities. My main complaint is the cost. Folks only going to the Children’s museum should not have to pay the full amount for entrance to the entire museum. If we were able to go through the rest of the museum sections, it would be well worth the cost. But you can't do that with small children.
Lovely place for kids.
Spent 3hrs with the kids and only got through about half of the exhibit. They loved it. So much variety.
Awesome place for kids. My daughter loved this place!! We stopped for only few hours on our trip to Ottawa but that wasn't enough time to spend at this place. So much to do inside for the kids. Staff is just amazing and very friendly with kids. Clean washrooms for changing kids also! Overall this place deserves all the stars.
Great place for kids, not good food
Great entertainment for kids of all ages.
Good place for kids of all ages to dissipate their energy levels ..
Great place for little kids, they really enjoy playing pretend to be so many different things, since the museum is a playful environment for the kids to play and learn about theatre, construction, the port, the post, the store, the Cafe, countries of the world, and so much. You easily have things to do for half a day or more. The give you a passport at the entrance for the kids, and they're supposed to stamp it on each location they play, in the stamp post, this also is very attractive for them to look forward to.
My little kid spent a great time there making me very tired running after him:-) It is very nice place.
Great place, lots of interactive activities for the kids and young at heart. Well worth the drive.
Love the children’s museum, didn’t know it before but quite interesting. My daughter was enjoying the birthday party a lot.
I can't say enough good things about this place in this post alone. AMAZING. It's literally an epcot centre for kids! Every area/country is their height from pyramids to japanese tea house, to puppet theater in Indonesia. Hands down the best place for kids in the city. Plus all IMAX/CINE movies are included w admission now! TIP: head to the panorama cafeteria next door for great salad bar and kid friendly meals :)
Excellent collections and very nicely maintained. Worth to visit at least once in life time. Good Luck !
Fun children's museum. Hours of fun for the kids and 3D kids movies and others in their theater. Usually 30-45mins long. Museum is huge and great. They have a museum store, food places, coat check. Parking is paid.
Perfect place to take your tiny human to let them explore, experience a museum, and run out all their energy!
GREAT PLACE FOR CHILDREN TO SPEND HOURS, OR A FULL DAY TIRELESSLY PLAYING, AND GETTING INVOLVED IN ENGAGING ACTIVITIES
Great fun for the kids! Lots to do.
My kids had a blast here. It could easily entertain them all day. I would definitely come back.
Amazing experience! My kids had a blast! Its an all day family activity! Would definitely recommend this place!!
My kids could have spent the hole day here no problem!! Fun kid place
The family loved the children's museum as we traveled through all of the different history each culture has to offer
Great place, friendly staff. I felt more Canadian today
This is a beautiful place. It takes a long while to get through it all. There were crafts and activities at each location. My daughter's favourite place was the kaleidoscope where she could build with large blocks. She also loved playing the drums, making origami, riding the toy camel, and cooking food. It was a little busy on the Sunday we went and do there was a lot of sharing needed which was hard when some children didn't want to share. The staff was also friendly and helpful.
Great time as always. So much to do and love the exhibits that come and go.
It was nice, wished there were more things tho.
Great place for kids, will be updating the whole museum starting September 2020.
Very exciting tour around the world!
Amazing for the entire family. We brought a group of kids and I'd go back again.
It feels like adults hell on Earth ! Perfect for kids but a bit too expensive
Entertaining for the whole family. This is an interactive museum that will give the whole family a day of fun. The only setback is that I do not think they clean the toys often enough so they are grungy and germy. Stay away during cold and flu season ????
A lot of fun stuff for kids to explore. We've been there a few times and our kids find something new to play with each time. Note that it's packed during the free admission on Thursdays.
Very fun place to bring young children. There is so much to do and so much to see. Encourages education through play. Will definately be coming back when my child is a little bit older!
Exhibits clean and interactive. One of the best kids museums I have been to! Lots of staff to help keep the place orderly and put back together. My husband and I took turns with the kids while the other went to the history side. Make sure you leave plenty of time, as there is only one price for entry.
Educational and entertaining, recommend to kids under grade 4.
I attended by granddaughter 's dance competition.. She was Awesome !!
My kids loved it soo intertaining and all facilities are available
Super fun!! Great place to bring the kids!! Pack a lunch and stay the day!
Lots of stuff to do for little ones. Our kids had more fun here than even at the Ontario science center. Definitely a must visit of you have kids.
Very special place! Finally a "museum" where kids can touch whatever they want!! Thats the whole idea! I suggest weekdays, if not bring ear plugs... gets a bit crazy!
Great place for the kids and lots of activities.
Outstanding museum...and the kid's museum in particular is amazing, there's SO much for the kids to do it could easily keep my younger ones (6 & 3 yrs) entertained ALL day. My littlest still asks if we can go back, 5 months later.
Love the passports that the kids can fill out as they go through the museum.
Great place to take your kids! The cafe has delicious food
We could spend a day in the children's space alone. Excellent activities for 2+. Dress up, drawing and lots of vehicles to pretend to drive. Our toddler also enjoyed the play Italien and sushi kitchens.
Lots of fun and always a blast for the kids
Best museum in the National Capital Region
Definitely a 5 star visit,
We loved the museum. It was a great time for my little 2 year old. With that said, the cost was outrageous. We should have packed a lunch, so I will take some blame there but 50 bucks for 2 adults, 36 for lunch and 13 for parking is steep!
If you have young kids, the Children's Museum is fantastic. There's so much variety of shapes, colours, and activities all built into the series of buildings and structures representing many different countries and regions. The buildings are kid-sized, so watch your head if you are over 6' tall. We tried taking them into the rest of the Museum of History, but that lasted maybe 15 minutes before they wanted to go back to the Children's Museum.
Fun for everyone!
We had a great time here at the museum. We tried to attend one of the activities but it was closed before the time it was closed. I guess we will have to return.
Great museum. I spent easily 3 hours with my 2 years old boy.
A unique experience, the voices and stories from children as they lived through the everyday, quite moving
I was disappointed. I was expecting more out of it
Highly recommended for those with children to visit, good learning of various cultures
Pleasantly surprised with how fun it was for the kids (ages 5 and 2.5). Us adults were never bored either. Even though there were a lot of kids, it never felt overly loud or crowded. My 5-year-old was asking when we could go again!
Great place for the kids on a cloudy summer day!
I just love Canadian history. They have everything and well explain... Congrats
What a great place, for sure we are coming back
I loved the experience because we had a great time there my family and I
Great place for kids
Great experience.
Its a really great place and my kids love it so much
Nice a big. Good ppl
Excellent place for children, my infant and toddler love it!
You could spend a whole day here with your child and only do this part of the museum. There is SO MUCH to do. Now, that said, this is really for kids 5+. Kids 2+ may still run around and play with things, but it ends up as more of a play/activity centre for them than a place of learning.
Awesome for kids, also a good place for them to get lost!
Best place for kids ever! So many levels to suit all ages including Adults. I love this place.
My son had a blast! So much to see and experience. Definitely worth the trip.
Great place to bring the wee ones. Usually the PD days and holidays are bonkers but if you get a pass and go on a regular weekend you'd be surprised at how much running room the kids have. Plus the free cine+ is an added benefit.
Awesome place. I used to take my kids there. Now we take our grandchildren. A must see and do for all canadian kids!!
A gem inside the Canadian Museum of History. Little had changed since our first visit five years ago. Time to add some upgrade.
Was a fun flace for kids
Always a pleasure to take the kids for the day. Access to a great cafeteria. Lots of wonderful things to keep kids busy all day in an educational environment.
very good place, been there for many times.
Children section was great
The children could spend an entire morning in the children's museum, if not longer. Very fun, interactive, engaging. We also really enjoyed the 3D movie, Tiny Giants.
The Neanderthal exhibition was very interesting and informative.
Its heaven for kids. Everything is well maintained. There is a lot to discover and enjoy for kids.
Absolutely beautiful and strategically organized fun for the kids! We entered on Canada Day, and moved fairly quickly through the museum as it was very busy, but I guarantee if you have more time to spend an entire day would not be enough for my girls! Absolutely loved it! Wish our home children's museum was like this!!
My son had a ton of fun, however, it's pretty expensive to go since they charge full admission to the entire museum for entry into the children's museum.
Brilliant. Full of hands on activities for kids while they explore around the world. Really well thought out. Kids even get their own passport to stamp in different lands and travel activities.
Amazing place for our family, the twins absolutely love exploring here!
Love it. Be warned it is always busy and you are highly likely to lose a toddler at some point, but the children's area is separate from the larger exhibits and has a single entry point so they can't get too far. There are crafts, dress up, tactile toys and lots to see. Pack a picnic lunch and check it at coat check for free!
Wonderland for kisd. We have visited more than 20 times. It feels like always new visiting for kids and variety of crafts are also available.
Great place for kids. Educational and fun on the same time.
There's a reason why this is Canada's most visited museum. Especially great for kids with the Children's Museum, the IMAX theatre, and play areas. Lots of interesting exhibits for adults, too. A bar, restaurant, café, and beautiful trails, views, and parks adjacent as well. Highly recommend visiting the Vieux-Hull neighbourhood afterwards as well - a cute, little French quarter. And, lookup the biannual beer fests!! Festibière d'hiver is my personal fave.
When you're tired of learning go and become a kid again! Before they kick you out and call you too old!
Love it
The kids had a blast. This place will keep the kids busy from 2 to 3 hrs or even more. There is a theatre area for kids, where they can dress up in cool costumes. Tons of costumes are made available for free for the kids to try and come pose on the stage. There are a lot of displays and kids activities. Each is based on a country theme. There is an auto rickshaw, bus, religious dress-up, kitchen with spices and stuff for Indian theme. Similarly, each country has many such displays.
A Great place for kids to have lots of fun.
The kids can't get enough of this place. Lots of stations to keep them busy in a safe environment that encourages learning.
Always fun for the kids. Movies are now included!
Adorable great activities and crafts for kids. Cant wait to see what they do with the renovations!
Plenty of activities to keep the kids busy and lots to learn.
Awesome place to spend the day with the kids... Excellent way to learn about different cultures from around the world.
Amazing place to visit for everyone. One thing is to find a place to park outside if you plan to stay all day long because there are so many things to explore. I usually manage to find a spot outside which save me money. Not easy to get the kids out of there when it's time to leave. they enjoy so much.
Very good for kids. Don't miss it.
The layout is such that it is nearly impossible to watch more than one child at a time so this may be a difficult outing if your children out number you. Otherwise it is a fun place. Ideal age range 2-10
My kids absolutely loved it. Highly recommended.
Kid's section is absolutely fantastic. Great place to visit if you are visiting Ottawa.
Great for children. A lot of fun.
Awesome place to lose several hours with your kids in. Our three year old loved it. I still don't know how we actually managed to pry him away to leave. There are so many interactive stations we couldn't keep up with him!
AMAZING! We could have spent our whole day in just the children's museum.
Very very very good for kids - loved it!!!
Good interactive museum.many things to see around the world..price lets in both museums.
Kids had a blast. I was looking for the globes. Found all of them without help.
Very busy on the free (Thursday) night, but kids still really enjoyed it. It is a "world travel" theme. Kids really liked getting all their passport stamps. Lots of hands on activities. The place is a bit like a maze, so its easy to lose your kid for a while (I like the ikea style layout a little more for this reason). We spent about an hour there.
Attractive. The kids zone is very interesting.
It's ok for what it is, it's cute and all but I would not go out of my way to go there with the kids. I happened to be in Ottawa that day and it was a free entrance day. My 5 year old kind of liked it but it's a 2 hour activity max. They usually charge 50$ for a family of 4, i guess they have to make money somehow, you do get full museum access however my young kids did not care much for the totems or medieval exposition.
We've been here a few times. My kids love it.
What an amazing area for children.... Young and old!
Great to have a screen free zone that encourages imaginative play for children. A great range of activities suitable for all!
If you're looking for an amazing place for your little(s), look no further! So much to do! Take your time and let them lead the way! Worth ever penny!
We only had a 1.5 hours to spare but really wanted to check out the Children's Museum. It did not disappoint. My two-year-old could have easily spent the entire afternoon there. This part of the museum is filled with kid-size replica of artifacts and "homes" from around the world.
Nice for kids between age 3 to 8
My favorite
Fantastic museum where kids can touch everything and "visit the world" while stamping their passports in the various sections. They usually have arts and crafts workshops and sometimes shows. My kids loved that place!
Great display and interact presentation for kids to ask
Fantastic place for curious kids. It's themed around different countries with plenty to explore and do.
Great little children’s museum. Excellent layout, it’s not a huge ground to cover but it’s packed with different activities/stations. We went there for free-Thursday hours and had to return for a full day of visit on Friday and my soon to be 5 year old still was not done with exploring. Not to mention the beautiful landscape and view to the back of the building. We enjoyed our time there a lot!
Great especially knowing this is free from 16h to 17h everydays
Only negative is that I didn't get to visit when I was a child. A great place to be a kid!
Drop the kids and go see a flick.... Best time off ever ;)
Well organised, lots of room, modern and attractive building, big parking, nice resto terrasse with view on the river and the parlement, interesting exibition.
Great place for kids from 4 to 12 I would say, can be hard to go through when packed since there is not a lot of space between activities. Also be aware that you have to pay full admittance to the whole museum to get access to the kids section even if just a small part of the history museum....
This is a must visit place. Especially for children the Children Museum section is a must see.
Great place for kids to run and play! My 3 year old loved it. Lots of interaction available with the displays.
My kids love it. They can explore and be free
Nice place to spend the day with the kids.
Excellent museum for kids! Lots to do but try and avoid week-ends as it's soooo busy and loud!
Great place to bring your kids of all ages.
Great place for the little ones????
A favourite for our family. Informative and interactive.
In my second visit I noticed many things has been changed although I enjoyed more on my first visit
Great for kids to run around but it is quite hectic. Parents take a very hands off approach and that can interfere with the enjoyment but overall it is a good place to take kids for a fun afternoon.
The children's centre was good. IMax film was ok. Worth a visit once every few years.
Had another amazing time here with my kids!!! Worth the money, we were there for hours!!!
A lot of fun for children and educational
My granddaughters loved this museum. Age 3 & 6.....I had to bribe them to get them to leave. So much to do and see.
