REVIEWS OF Fredericton Railway Bridge IN Fredericton

Gavin Reid

Old Railroad bridge turned walkway. What more is there to say? Well, Picarrons Round House is literally at the end; when coming from the South side. And when coming from the Northside, the Beaver Brook Art gallery is around the corner! What more could you ask for?

Anael Schuler

We love walking on the bridge. Nice place to be in the summer. Also a very convenient way to get downtown if you are coming from the North side of the city. I always recommend friends or visitor to check it out. The bridge is very packed during summer evenings. Watch for the cyclists as some of them go faster then the speed limit displayed. And keep to your right.

Quite a long bridge, that offers up stunning views of the Saint John River. It's also been newly renovated so it's even better than before. By far the best way to get to the North Side if you don't have a car.

I wanted to wear a mask to beat The Cove but the freezing rain was so much that it froze to my face and I had to have it surgically removed.

Lovely bridge for pedestrians! Great views of the St. John River and downtown Fredericton. It connects the busier part of Fredericton with the laid-back side...the slower pace side is across the river. Picaroon's restaurant is the first place you see once you cross the bridge - it's like a pleasant reward for crossing the bridge.

Walking this bridge is just lovely, it offers a beautiful view of both sides of the river as well as it's own rustic charm making for an all around great walking trip. It's only about a km long so it's fairly easy to walk and connects to more great walking trails.

Melanie Griffin

Graeme MacDermid

Great rail-to-trail path across the Saint John River.

Daniel Paull

It's hard to imagine this walking bridge is over 100 years old. Though the trains may be long gone, the constant pitter patter of human and dog feet and the clickety clack of bicycle wheels give this old girl constant attention. The views across the river are beautiful. You won't be disappointed.

Probably the most iconic scenery in all of Fredericton. The walking bridge has some nice views of the river and connects the downtown area to Fredericton's North side. On both sides of the bridge you have great spots for beer, food, or a nice patio. On the Northside you have Picaroons and a great little park, and on the south side you have the downtown area with all of its breweries and restaurants. The bridge is also well connected to all of Fredericton's walking trails so you can get to it on foot from pretty much anywhere in the city.

This Bridge is part the lovely shoreline walk on the Trans Canada Trail in Fredricton NB It is a lovely and well lit walk day or night. The bridge is about 500 metres across and you get great views of Fredricton at night. The photo is taken from the middle of the bridge. This is a great place for an after dinner walk! This bridge was renamed the “Bill Thorpe Memorial Bridge in the last year. Thank you Fredricton this is a beautiful park that highlights some of the great things in Fredricton. Thanks
