REVIEWS OF Bill Thorpe Walking Bridge IN Fredericton

Phan Cong Phuoc

An interesting place with many pedestrians and cyclists too.

Dane B

Nice bridge, short enough to walk across and also bikeable. Great views of the sky around sunset.

Noah Starr

Great to look at & from; a jewel that Fredericton has kept from a not so distant past. A truly wonderful example of how something old, can become something new!

Rafel Yako

Pleasant surprise! It's an old railway bridge - look for the telegraph wire holders off the west / north side. Definitely worth a trip during a pretty sunset!

Andrew N. Byrne

Quite a long bridge, that offers up stunning views of the Saint John River. It's also been newly renovated so it's even better than before. By far the best way to get to the North Side if you don't have a car. This, as the map shows, is one of the best locations to get a panoramic view of Fredericton's downtown.

AK Pillai

Good for an afternoon walk

Julian Wong

This bridge used to be a railway bridge and is now converted to form part of a trail system in Fredericton. It is great for walking, jogging or cycling. The riverside park on the west bank of the the St John river provides some shade for picnic. The nearby Legislative Building is a good compliment to stop over.

Poonam Katewa

A peaceful stroll ????‍♀️

Every city with an old train bridge (cough, Ottawa) should do this with it!

Joelle Tourangeau

Nice walk if you are downtown. Bike paths on both sides of the bridge.

Probably the most iconic scenery in all of Fredericton. The walking bridge has some nice views of the river and connects the downtown area to Fredericton's North side. On both sides of the bridge you have great spots for beer, food, or a nice patio. On the Northside you have Picaroons and a great little park, and on the south side you have the downtown area with all of its breweries and restaurants. The bridge is also well connected to all of Fredericton's walking trails so you can get to it on foot from pretty much anywhere in the city.

Ryan & Stacey Hickey

Gorgeous calm morning on this gem of a walking bridge. Thanks Fredericton for this opportunity.

This was an unexpected surprise. We arrived in downtown Fredericton and found very few stores open (outside of bars) after 5pm. This was a nice, calm walk. Highly recommended!

Fantastic! This bridge is perfect for walking, running, or cycling and is wide enough to allow you to pass slower people if necessary. It has amazing views of the Saint John river.
