Boat launch is open year round!

Clean campsites, nice walking trails. Don't go in the lake unless you are in a boat. Camp rules not enforced, loud music until 3am.

Ashley Cardin

Picnic area is now closed. No issue there but as a responsible dog owner I didn't like having to leave my dog in the vehicle as dogs are prohibited on most of the grounds there. If you decide to be like most owners in FSJ and ignore the dig signs be sure to bring multiple bags as there are none there (obviously because dogs are not allowed) not a bad place otherwise. Would never swim there in summer as there was TONS of green algae when I checked it out then.

Clean and friendly staff

Great place to walk in the spring and summer trails are mostly wood chipped all intersections at marked for easy navigation. Great place for winter treks as well, snow shoeing, cross country skiing, tobogganing. Boat launch is nice and wide, well taken care of, can get a little slimy. Make sure you give your boat a good cleaning once you get back. The beach is nice, has covered picnic tables and places to have fires.

One of the nicer parks we've been too quaint quite and close to the water with paved road most of the way.

Very typical Provincial Park although sites are on the small side. Be aware that even though most sites are reservable (fee payable online), if you are planning to just turn up, don't pick a site with a green 1 or 2 night tag as 1 or 2 actually mean 0 or 1. We pitched in one of these and then were asked to move as it was reserved. Park operators are slow to update these boards. I even checked the reservation board and there was no listing for our site. 4 FCFS sites available. Bugs were bad in July.

Late June it's very empty and peaceful. Not sure if it'll be as good when it is busy. The camp sites are large and fairly private.

Wesley Phibbs

Overall looks great. Just time of year there was tonnes of bees. Boat launch. Picknick areas. Camping. Out houses. Playground. Swimming.

Great place if you want to be by Charlie Lake. Recommend reserving a site.

Bryce Cameron (Bryce1482)

Pretty, Nicely Maintained, In the Winter (right now when I'm writing this) Charlie Lake is mostly frozen over, and It's fun to walk down there with some people.

Tara Leduc

Definitely my favorite part of Fort St John. When I first moved to FSJ, I thought it was flat, dusty and ugly. But Beatton shows the opposite: rolling hills, beautiful colors, forest and a different view of Charlie Lake. I've walked here. I've run here. I've xc skied here. It's always a breath of fresh air. If you are new to FSJ, and wondering what hell you've gotten yourself into, head to Beatton Park. You'll see the beauty the Peace truly has to offer.

Jody Lefebvre

Great spot for day use and camping spots

ahtaque Malik

Kelsey Crozier

So cold. Many snow.

Fernando García de la Serrana

Nice provincial park with good trails and beach area

Terry Cameron

Great spot for camping or a stroll in the forest. We spent one night at the provincial park and the facilities are good. The sites are very hard packed and rocky, so bring a sleeping pad and good tent stakes. The trails in the forest are made for snowshoeing and cross-country skiing in the winter and hiking and biking in the summer. The park has an updated playground too!

Jonny Dezan

Had a great experience waking my pup on these well maintained trails

Adam Petersen

Great place for families.

Aaron Plazter

Great snowshoe and cross country trails

Travis Trav

Very nice park with campsite and boat luch and sand beach

This is a nice provincial park on a big lake, which is rare for the Peace Region. The lake is sometimes not the greatest for swimming, so you have to watch. Overall people seem to swim in Charlie lake regardless. There are some really nice trails around the park as well, which are nice in the summer for hiking and in the winter for snowshoeing or cross country skiing.

Our group has been visiting for an annual fishing trip for about 8 years. •Nice campground. •Aweseome fishing which makes it enjoyable •Amazing sunsets •Had kayak stolen from the back of our site . (7 years earlier, one of our party had a 9.9hp engine stolen off his boat). Security is an ongoing issue. Ensure stuff is accounted for and locked up. •a few strange vehicles cruising the campground
