This is a fun place to spend about 25-30 minutes with the family and stand in awe of just how enormous the industrial machines are used in mining. The machines on display are obviously now retired and the interpretative signs tell their story. There's some green space, picnic tables, and paths around the machines. Located about 20-25 minutes north of Fort McMurray.

The closest some of us would ever get close to a giant equipment ever. Take advantage of it. Take photos next to the Gigantic blade and of course the bucket.

Amber Dechief

The whole Syncrude loop is interesting. I always take my family to see Crane Lake, Giants of Mining, and the Wood Bison when they come to visit. Each location tells a bit of the oil sands story and how they want to minimize their impact on the environment. It makes a great afternoon drive.

Robert S

Grest historical education with regards to oilsand development and improvements.

Andre Lorrain

Great place to visit and see what they are doing to reclaim the environment. Tree huggers needs to see the number of trees are planted each year and deceptive information by radical environmentalists needs to stop.

Jase Langille

Extremely large equipment formerly used in oil sands extraction.

Incredible to see the sheet scale of some of these machines, while these are no longer in use you can imagine what it was like when they were. I imagine the sound was deafening of a digger that big. Great write ups on the plaques that are explanatory and give valuable insights. It is a bit of a drive out of Fort McMurray I highly recommend a trip out for anyone visiting!
