I love how they have preserved the buildings that were here when I was born in 1941 at the Grey Nuns Hospital. My grandfather was superintendent at the refinery down between Horsetail Creek and the Athabaska.

Went with a 4 year old and 1 year old. They loved looking at all the displays and the interactive media. We easily spent 2 hrs here looking at all the buildings, we didn't even have time to read all of the plaques!

This is well worth a visit to discover just how longstanding the diversity in Fort Mac is! People have been coming to this part of the planet for longer than you'd think- the ❤ of adventure$, has been calling folks here for centuries- Fort Mac strong for sure! Check it out for yourself! Compact compound do-able in an hour! Great gift shop! Something for everyone!

Great place to spend the day with family and learn a lot for the fort mcmurray history. The buildings are very well maintained with interactive screens and more. Unfortunately there is no facility there to offer drinks or snacks otherwise we could stay there for longer.

I love this place. Took my husband, dad and sons here for father's day. A great way to learn the history of Fort McMurray. Even if your a lifer :) The guided tours are reasonably priced and the staff is knowledgeable and friendly.

Recently re-opened after a flood and the fire, a can’t-miss in McMurray! Many people who come to Wood Buffalo (incorrectly) think that this region was built only on oil, but Heritage Village teaches you about Fort McMurray before the oil sands. Aboriginal history, fur traders, early entrepreneurs, and the dynamic roots of this community - it’s all here. Couldn’t recommend checking this amazing place out enough, guaranteed you’ll have a different perspective about Fort McMurray once you’ve finished exploring!

I was having a hard time finding a unique gift!... Someone had referred me to this Hidden Gem! The Staff was great, they went out of there way to help me select the perfect gift. So many items had a story behind them. This was a unique spot, with unique items. The Staff, provided that old fashioned customer service, that’s seems to be lacking nowadays. This combined with a thorough knowledge of the items, made for an easy shopping experience. If you struggle like me, at finding a gift, that doesn’t seem like it has fallen off the shelf at Wally Mart, then I would strongly recommend this spot!!

Beautiful store. The park is very well maintained and the Heritage details are impressive and interesting. They have a beautiful ice skating track made this year (2020/21) for the public to enjoy. The xmas lights, in the trees, are always a wonderful touch. Great job

We came here as a family and my 4 year old couldn’t get enough. Lots to see and learn for the adults too. Climbing inside the old ships and trains, climbing up to the bridge and through the halls and rooms. Reading authentic labels , letters and warnings helps to paint a picture of the life. My favourite part was finding an ashtray built into every table and ledge reminiscent of the early 90’s when these boats were retired .
