Sorting Gap Marina in Fort Frances is a wonderful place to stop in order to hike a little bit and relax. The surrounding landscapes include a gigantic lookout tower to the east and a tug to the west. There are numerous banks to sit down and observe Rainy River as well as the town of International Falls in Minnesota.

Boat launch and ice cream shop! There wasn’t any sorbet or any dairy free options which is very disappointing. The phone number doesn’t work because it is forwarded to the town (only open business hours) so if you have a question it’s not helpful. The staff was nice and the area was clean! And social distancing and regulations were in place. Nice spot for ice cream and lovely area. Hope they have dairy free ice cream there next time!

Fantastic place to visit whether you were on your bike, walking or on a boat. Wait times for launching aren’t too bad at all and there’s lots of places to sit after you buy your amazing ice cream cones in so many different flavours that are offered. Very pretty little area.
