We have all the information of real people who are buying the products of Rainy Lake Visitor Center (Tourist Attraction) around Fort Frances area (Canada).
Now this firm has a rating of 4.7 out of 5 and this rating has been based on 127 reviews.
As you can see the average score it has is almost the best one, and it is based on a high number of opinions, so we can think that the evaluation is quite faithful. If there are many people who bothered to leave their feddback when they've done well with the business, it works.
As you know, we do not usually bother to place scores when they are good and we usually do it only if we've had a problem or issue...
This Tourist Attraction is classified in the category of Visitor center.
This is a wonderful visitor center. It could be improved if it had more history on the native peoples of the region. The exhibits are terrific. They have a nice educational video. The dock area, walking trails and natural gardens are …
Great visitor center and very helpful staff. Nice displays and hiking trails. If taking the boat ride, be sure to book in advance. Also has a boat launch.
Good information from friendly and knowledgeable staff.
Pleasant visitor center along Rainy Lake. Nice dock and great views of the lake and the Kabetogama Peninsula. Voyageurs is a much better experience if you get a boat involved, which I didn't have time to do. Still, the surrounding area was gorgeous and the visitor center is informative too.
Voyageurs is beautiful, and the park rangers were great, very informative and helpful
Beautiful facility. Easy to dock your boat.
Great shore fishing right behind the center. Boat launch is easily accessable dedicated launch for kayaks
Inside visitor center was nice and cool stuffs to see and do. They show some movies too
Kind and somewhat helpful rangers. Was looking for rentals for Voyageurs Outfitters, which is behind the visitor center by the boat launch right outside the vault toilets. The park in general is not very forthcoming with information and has a "adventure at your own risk" vibe when it comes to camping. It is a cool park though!
Excellent visitor center, easy to get to, and good place to get out on the water, take a pleasant walk, or just take in the exhibits and films.
Good, friendly and knowledgeable staff. The visitor center itself is very well setup. Great things to see and interesting.
A very nice visitor center. Interesting displays and helpful people. I will not rate five starts until mask mandate removed. But it is a very interesting place to stop. Travelers with children will especially enjoy it.
It was a great time. Very friendly staff. Lots of fun.
Beautiful building, nice stone walls on the grounds, great view of the lake from inside. There's a stuffed wolf (large-sized) and an elk inside. Friendly and helpful staff. Parking is tight, however.
Had been on my list of places to go. Spent a week and it wasn't enough time to really see the place. You need a boat, that's why I only gave 4 stars. It's a 5-star park, once you're out on the water and take the time to walk the trails. Thus, it's expensive for onshore lodging and boat rental or even better, but still expensive, a house boat rental to keep you out in the park. Wonderful restaurants overlooking the lakes. The overcast sky may have been the luck of the draw, or being north and inland, it's overcast a lot, don't know. It is colder here than vacations elsewhere as your on the Canadian border at the 49th parallel, top of the U.S. except for Alaska.
Staff was courteous and informative. I took the 2-hour boat ride which is okay but there's not that much to see from an interesting perspective. We saw bald eagle we saw some sort of fish camp we saw a mine opening. I would just take it if you want to go out on the lake and have a nice view of the lake from the lake itself.
Nice visitor center. Small room of local heritage items, small gift shop.
Ask to watch the short video of the history of the area. The moose in the lobby is very likely the only one you will see. If you can't make lake tour reservations on line, you can make them at the front desk, otherwise make the reservation on line.
We stopped here on our way to a boat tour of Rainy Lake. The staff was super friendly. One of them dressed up my son as a Voyageur. They were very knowledgeable and eager to answer our questions.
Great friendly helpful staff. Fantastic view of Rainy Lake. Groomed for cross country skiing. Perfect gift shop with exactly the magnet I was looking for to add to the collection that shows our travels ❄️???? Great human powered activity as one of the park rangers told us. So much snow, cold temps, a perfect day at Rainy Lake. Thunderbird Hotel just across the road to stay or eat!
Great place to find out information about Voyageurs National Park. There are exhibits, a video or two, a gift shop, restrooms, and even Checkers in this visitor center. It is also accessible by boat, which should cut the travel time in half, as this is very remote by car, unless you live in Int'l Falls.
Very beautiful
Friendly staff!
We are here Camping at rainy lake RV And wanted to venture out to see what we could find. With some research and help from the owners at rainy lake RV. We found the visitor center just down the road. It has bike and hiking trails. The bike trail is beautiful. Very natural and peaceful. While on the bike trail we came across a very friendly park ranger. She told us about the junior park rangers program. We went to the visitor center to learn more about the park and the kids program. The kids earned their badges and are official junior park rangers! They have a short video about the voyeguer national park and a small museum there. Very cool and would recommend. Also want to add that we were stopped by the sheriff on the trail and he gave the kids a coupon for free ice cream for wearing the their helmets. Thank yiu so much for taking the time to give out these coupons it made the kids day and validated me for telling them to wear the helmets
Knowledgeable and helpful staff, interesting exhibits, film could be updated, beautiful area, Ober trail was just right. Thanks
Cool place
Very nice place
Very clean place that had simple rules to follow
Rangers were very helpful and friendly. Very nice and informative historical display.
The 2 women who manned the desk were very nice, helpful and informative. Nice place to learn about the history of the park.
Good national park visitors center. Helpful staff short hikes from center
This National Park has walking and bike trails, picnic tables, built in grills on Rainy Lake
Place is beautiful
This is one of the Voyageurs National Park visitor centers. The building has some fun educational displays and a small theater. Outside there are hiking trails, a pier for viewing the lake, a boat ramp, and the loading site for guided tours of Rainy Lake.
Nice boat landing. Needs more parking.
Excellent visitor center, museum, gift store and access to tour boats.
Great staff and wonderful displays.
Lots of material at the center - a museum with a gray wolf and moose (stuffed), native American artifacts, and a twelve minute film on the local history and the Voyageurs. A very knowledgeable lady at the visitor center gave us lots of information on the park. A small store with books, clothing and souvenirs. The building is large and airy with good light and a few chairs overlooking the lake. Restrooms are clean and well--maintained. There is an outdoor seating area which overlooks the ethnobotanical garden and the lake. Access to the Oberhotlzer trail is at the end of the garden. A very cool bark teepee is a part of the garden.
Everything one could ask for from a visitor center. My friends and I were able to ride our boat up to the dock and access the visitor center by water, something unlike the vast majority of visitor centers. Was able to get a stamp in the National Parks passport and watch an informational video on the Voyageurs.
Staff were friendly and helpful
Nice info
Good to visit. Get freshed!!
Perfect place to set up base for the day. There are separated picnic sites with picnic table and grill. Best of all, there is a modern restroom. It is also near pick-up area for canoe rentals.
Small, but informative display of northern Minnesota history. There's also a short video about the park available on request. There are multiple boat tours from this site which is the perfect way to experience this scenic area. The visitor center is located on the very western edge of the park, but there is a TON to explore either by water or hiking. While we didn't camp, the area looks like a great place to pitch a tent and commune with nature. Would definitely recommend making the trip into the park if you ever find yourself in the great northern woodlands. With over 218,000 acres of protected wilderness, anyone who fancies the outdoors will find some enjoyment here.
Rainy lake Visitor Center of Voyageurs National Park have a interesting history, beautiful views and their offer different tours inside these NP.
Friendly staff! Short movie about area lake and park!
Beautiful area saw a black bear on the way up and got alot of information also saw alot of cool animals on the trail with some difficult terrain but nothing my 62 year old parents couldn't handle and as long as you can keep your footing your good
Extremely beautiful in the winter and worth the visit. Although it was a pity that we visited it as it closed, the lake was open for all. The setting sun made the experience pretty much an unforgettable winter visit.
Rangers were so friendly. Especially towards my son while he got another Junior Ranger badge. Obviously the park was gorgeous.
When covid-19 everybody just left and the place has not been kept up at all. Overgrown weeds & cobwebs every where, it's like a ghost town.
Beautiful area. Excellent tour (The Grand Tour) from this location is worth doing. Short walks around the center are fun to do. Rangers very friendly and helpful.
You can't go through International Falls without stopping here! There are activities for children, a small gift shop, and exhibit. In the winter, there is hot chocolate and free snowshoe rentals. They keep it interesting all year round!
Fun day at visitor center. Kids enjoyed earning their Junior Ranger badges and patch (super cool). Bring jacket and bug spray for outdoor time! Saw empty turtle eggs and a bunch of Monarch butterfly in their caterpillar stage eating milk weed.
Beautiful Park Center on Rainy Lake, part of Vogageur Natinal Park. Not very busy, knowledgeable employees, clean and interesting displays.
The staff at the visitor's center were great! Very cool place for scenery. Love the smell of the great outdoors. Had a little picnic and made a friend...of the furry type.
beautifull gardens
A great, modern visitor center at the north end of Voyageurs National Park. The staff is quite friendly and helpful. There is a decent exhibit room, movie, and gift store located here. Additionally, a free public boat launch, ranger guided boat tours (for a fee), and ranger talks can be found here. There is also a historic garden that have indigenous plants and signs that describe how Naive Americans in the region utilized them. A great place to learn about the park and plan your adventure in it.
Neat and clean
Nice camp sites , very clean and awesome trails and boat launch
Super helpful, cool place. The place takes you back in time. Super cool wolf, and other artifacts. Don't forget your National Park stamp. Restrooms are maintained well. #MaskMandatory - they have em if you don't. Open 8-5 all week.
Nice.. Quiet. Boat wasn't running when we were there
The center has a small exhibit discussing the Ojibwa tribe, fur traders, early logging and some of the regional animals. I spent the morning birding along the Oberholtzer trail nest to the visitors center. The trail is less than a mile long with benches scattered along it.
You could not ask for friendlier people. Staff was excellent. Huge moose. Very nice display of cultural artifacts
Interesting place to visit.
Very informative. There's a short 17 minute video and a display about the history of the area. There is also a short 1/2 hour ranger led tour of the native plants and how the Ojibway Indians used them. The "Grand tour" boat tour starts there. We saw several sets of eagles and a loon. We stopped at Little America island and saw the gold mine. A very interesting tour. Best to make reservations online.
We saw four deer grazing and getting a drink. Beautiful!
Great park. Great location. Great vacation. The visitors center is top notch for quality, service and amenities.
This is the only visitors center for Voyageurs National Park that’s open 7 days a week. It’s also the largest visitors center- there are 2 others that are opened on alternating days. Apparently both of those visitor centers can fit inside …
Bring your National Park Passport for this very cool stop. There is tour of the park by water that should not be missed!
