A very special park. This is a hidden gem in Esquimalt. Hidden deep amongst the 'burbs, Saxe point is home to manicured lawns and gardens, forest walks, and amazing sea views. This is a great picnic spot, and a very nice place for a visit.

Nice place to take in a great view of the water. This place use to be called sex point as lovers use to take there dates there as it is very secluded and dark there at night. Also a great place to go and sit in your car and read a nice book on your lunch break or anytime to relax during the day. Ample parking and there is a small walking trail there too.

Had a nice day trip here with the family and we all enjoyed the day. Walked along the beach area and found fish and crabs along with a beautiful view of the neighborhood. Wasn't overcrowded like some other parks during the freak heatwave at hit us with record temperatures. There are amazing little gardens with so many different types of plants and flowers. Parking wasn't too bad at all. Do be aware that there are topless sunbathers here too so keep an eye on the little curious ones. We will definitely come back and relax here again. I do recommend this place for a great day trip, might be nice for a sunset too...

Easy vehicle, bike, and or trail access. Ample parking and dog friendly area. Enjoy a spectacular southern ocean view with the Olympic Mountains as the backdrop. Enjoy the view from the front seat of your vehicle, benches, picnic table or from the vantage point of the shoreline.

This is a very good place to spend time with Friends and Families. It is also perfect if you'd like to have an alone time, soul search or simply connect with the nature. There is a good walk way along or by the sea, and even inside a mini forest I call ^_^.. Dogs are allowed to walk with at certain paths as well ( leashed). There is also a little picnic or grassland where you can play with kids. One thing that I haven't tried yet and gives me a scare to, is the washroom because the last time I was there, It didn't seem so good to go to.

Beautiful scenery there is a guy playing guitar there it was actually quite good really went well with what we were doing there everybody was pretty friendly and there are washrooms close by only downside is that there is cliffs on the edge so watch your children and pets as it may not be safe

Today I discovered a new, beautiful place of inspiration. The views are spectacular, with grass spaces, cemented in picnic tables, benches made for ocean vistas and the scent of Arbutus trees. Great family picnic area, boat watching, rock sitting to listen to the immense power of the North Pacific ocean as it rolls in against the Esquimalt shore. I felt the power as I spent time writing, seeing the coast and the seemingly endless water of the mighty Pacific Ocean ????. I knew I was home and it gave me a deep sense of peace.

Wonderful west coat park. Beautiful and when the wind blows its cold. Jacket or sweater recommended. I've always enjoyed my walks there. For you who love a bit of history--here are old world war two bunkers there too. There is adequate parking except for when there are wedding or graduation photo shoots. There is also a washroom near the parking lot.

Beautiful gem tucked away in Esquimalt. The off leash dog area is beautiful, and a true oasis in the summer when trying to escape the heat. The majority of the trail is forested, so it stays cool. Beach access is available. Would be 5 stars if there was an additional garbage bin or two along the trails for dog bags.

This a great little park for dog walking or enjoying a stroll. The park is separated in two parts; dogs allowed and dogs not allowed. The trails are narrow, so if you don't like dogs then better to head over the other side. The park is a great place to watch cruise ships.

A great place to get out of your car and walk around. Lots of easy to follow trails lead you around various ocean views including a large waterfront home that has been painted the most obnoxious shade of blue. The park has a number of dog friendly beaches for dogs that like to go for a swim or chew on washed up sticks. There is a toilet building available for those that need some relief. A great place to hang out, have a picnic or watch the sunset.

Beautiful views of the Olympic Mountains. At night you can see Port Angeles WA, USA. Public Gardens are well kept, and the park is nice itself, good place to go for a picnic in the summer or watch storms in the winter. If you miss it on this you are really missing out.

It's very popular with many dogs not always controlled by owners. Best to visit in off peak hours. Many wedding picture taking and people congestion. However, in off peak hours it is wonderful just to stare out and soak in the great views, explore around. The park area is kept clean, has limited picnic tables, amenities washrooms, well placed benches. water taps for the thirsty human and/or pet.

Great place for a picnic or just a causal walk. It has a lookout area, wooded paths, mancured lawns, gardens and a few secluded beaches around the west side. It's also got a parking lot with ample space and some overflow parking further up the driveway. Dogs are welcome on leash but are not allowed in the picnic area.

There is a lot more to this park than you might think if you just drive in and park at the end looking over the water. Beyond the grassed area to the left of the road are a series of paths through the woods and around the point with spectacular views. There is also another path on the right, beyond the washroom, that gives you a different view. Keep your eyes open: When we were there there we saw a group (pod?) of four sea lions swimming just off the point. Spectacular!

Can't go wrong checking out this park. It has chip trails, a dog beach, rocks to climb on, and a beautiful grass area that spans a large area ideal for picnics, parties or even weddings. The trail that follows the water connects to another trail so you can explore further. Bring your blanket and picnic lunch and enjoy the stellar veiws.

Good parking spots that you can face the ocean without getting out of the car. A quick short trail to walk with your dog that can make into a loop. The trails aren't wheelchair accessible, but there are picnic tables with grass area that can be wheelchair accessible for a picnic lunch. And once the actors from the Shakespearean festival packed up and left taking their stage and lights with them, it was quiet and dark enough to see all sorts. Nice little place to walk your dog as you can normally park IN the park. But on the night we were there we had to park throughout the surrounding neighborhood so you might want to check the event calendar BEFORE you go .

Our family loves this park as it has a small walking trail to a beautiful beach, a picnic open field area right next to the open ocean and vista views and its easy to park close to all amenities. This is one of the nicest medium sized parks in the area. The views are amazing! There is a decent sized parking lot. Excellent walking trails along the water and through the reclaimed natural forest. Lots of benches in several place to enjoy the view or relax as you walk. Several well placed picnic benches by the water and in amongst the trees. A very popular place to take wedding photos, but call the number on the sign to book your photo shoot.

Its a great park by the beach. Wonderful views of the ocean, and sometimes, you even get to view cruise ships coming to dock in Victoria if you are lucky. Theres beautiful flora all around, and access to a nice sandy patch of beach. Check out the anchor on the rocks and the small circular concrete lookout point!

The only complaint I have about this beautiful park is he amount of people who let their dogs off leash and don’t have proper verbal recall control of their animals. Otherwise, it is a beautiful park and a great place to walk your dog.

A beautiful spot to have a picnic or just chill after a bike ride. We were lucky enough to see a sea otter come onto the lower rocks twice to give himself a rub on the rocks. Very cool!

Lovely place, but exceptionally poor drainage on trails on northwest side of parking lot and near bathrooms (all to the right when facing parkjng lot from entrance. Recommend avoiding that side on rainy days.

This is the most serene look out and park in Esquimalt. It is beautifully; spotlessly maintained and has an almost reverent energy that everyone seems to respect and abide by. Bring your dog's for a walk, enjoy a family picnic or an after dinner sunset. You will not be dissapointed.

Don’t get me wrong it’s beautiful!! But it’s a very small park and it’s basically an open field usually covered by people and a trail to get you from one side to the other. Obviously this a location and it’s not a restaurant and there’s nothing they can do to make it better. I just only enjoy going at night when there’s not as many people there.

I've always loved going to Saxe point..weather you want to sit in your car and watch the waves. Or walk along the trails and sit at the picnic tables and have a picnic. Very family friendly and perfect day or night. Always clean there with many garbage cans in sight. The bathroom is a bit of a walk but still close enough.

Beautiful location, lots of picnic and park benches to sit on and enjoy the view. We picked a glorious sunny day and the wind wasn't to strong coming off the ocean. Grass was pretty soggy after all the rain we've had do everyone was walking cautiously so we didn't go to far afield. Great place for a three hour distancing coffee break!! Bathrooms were clean and well maintained. Don't hesitate to try this beautiful park.

Beautiful park, great ocean side picnic benches and grass. Hidden rock beach. When the Navy Parks gigantic ships they will often do it right out of sex point. For instance there was an aircraft carrier there about 2 years ago. Can be Windy

Truly a beautiful spot. Lots of parking and walking trails. Large open area overlooking Juan we Fuca strait and on to the American side. Open area has scattered picnic tables and some shade trees. Since it is open to the ocean, there is a nice cool breeze blowing on hot days. On windy days the kids love going there and just leaning into the wind! It's just a nice calming, quiet place to visit. There are wheelchair parking spots and although the terrain is slightly hilly, it is accessible for mobility challenged individuals.

A great place to hike along the rocky shoreline or through the forest on chip trails. Or on a stormy day, just park and take in the view. Some pathways are paved for wheelchair access. Benches and a large grassy area for picnics and a place for kids to climb on rocks bordered with grass. A favourite place to go.

Saxe Point Park has an incredible view that peers to snow-capped mountains in the winter months. It also shows flattering views of the ocean. The scenes are truly relaxing and restorative.
