Here you will be able to see the opinions of people who have information of the services of Ogden Point Sundial (Tourist Attraction) in the area close to Esquimalt (Canada).
At the present the firm has a score of 4.6 stars over 5 and the score has been based on 127 reviews.
You must have seen that it has an average rating is virtually the highest, and it is founded on a high number of scores, so we can think that the assessment is quite accurate. If there are many people who bothered to rate when they've done well, it works.
You know that we do not usually stop to set feddbacks when they are correct and we usually do it only if we have had a problem or issue...
This Tourist Attraction is classified in the category of Tourist attraction.
Fun little place to stop at. Nice for a cool windy walk on a hot day.
Had the bagel with salmon. Was a great combination of flavours. So filling.
Lovely
When we have visitors we always bring them here all year long . Sometimes you get lucky and get to see a wedding proposal... lol
A very nice place to go visit. From the breakwater you get a nice view of the bay and mountains. It seems like there are always people fishing which is fun to watch.
Good place to walk. Wheelchair accessible as is the breakwater walkway beside it.
Nice little walk. Some interesting houses close by too. Love the bolders
Its a beautiful place to take a walk.got a great view We got to see sealion during out walk Sunset and sunrise is beautiful there
Great place. People should definitely come after covid.
See the water, Google? I went by there on a cruise ship! How would I know about a sundial? Most likely, it is either nearly correct, or off by one hour if it has not been seasonally adjusted.
Nice beach adjacent to Ogden Point cruise terminal. Easily accessible. On bus route.
Great evening shots if you are looking
Nice place for a walk, especially to see the cruise ships. There is a good restaurant nearby and sometimes food trucks.
Phenomenal Memories
It is wonderful to have an interactive, functional, sundial in Victoria! This sundial is embedded into the walkway, on the south side of Dallas Road, at Ogden Point. In order to determine what the time is, a person must stand in the centre of the sundial. Embedded beside the sundial, are instructions, to guide those who have never used a sundial. The interactive aspect of the sundial, makes it even more enjoyable than the more common sundials, that are situated atop pedestals. The walk along Dallas Road (where the sundial is located), is one which I highly recommend, to both tourists and locals, regardless of the season or the weather.
Like sunets? Then visit this place.
nice place with scenic views cruise port and helipad is nearby its amazing to walk and enjoy the silence of water one must have a walk upto lighthouse
Great place to go for a quiet stroll.
Wonderful dock above sea, there are some rocks also, you might touch water of the Pacific ocean here.
This place is a ideal place to see the sunset and enjoy fresh air
Always a great spot to walk by the water, see people fishing and scuba diving, or simply enjoy a coffee.
A nice walk with beautiful views
It was a gloomy day or it might have got a 5! Pleasantly busy but not crazy. Excellent restaurant fare nearby and great view. The retaining wall & 2 years of street work is pretty much complete so it was pleasant to get there and park, even on a Sunday.
Cool area with a small sandy beach, a sundi where you stand in and can calculate the time, and a great walkway into the ocean, which ends at a small lighthouse.
It's a beautiful place to walk and appreciate the Beau's expanse of the sea but there is really nothing much to do there.
Great food at the Breakwater Cafe and a beautiful walk along the pier. Quite nice.
Wowowowow it looks just like the ocean. The simulation is getting really good
Beautiful spot for a quick walk.
Beautiful! Great view of the ocean
Wind storm
Remarkable and atteactive; an innovative design that is user-friendly and access easy for passersby. Great feature!
Nice views! We saw two otters playing around!
It is a beautiful view especially in the sunset. You will have a chance to see a very big boats and have a really nice walk. Sometimes you may see seals.
I really love this place. It has an amazing view and its is a great walk. There are two levels to walk along, the top which has railings and the side which is large rectangular rocks with a couple's of levels. Thee is also a cafe and a beach if you just want to sit and listen to that waves and talk.
We walked the area near the port and had a wonderful day discovering the beauty that was abundant. Leisure walk and friendly folks. A great dai in port.
Great views. Carry a jacket!
One of my favorite spots in Victoria!
love it come and enjoy
It's a really cool place to walk to sea marine creatures and to relax
Great place for a walk and romantic stroll. Bring a jacket. Wind gets nipply.
Victoria, British Columbia, Canada. Gorgeous Place!! Once in my life time..????
Beautiful BC ~ scenic walk along the breakwater and local area year round. Good for all ages and levels of mobility. Romantic evening strolls and early morning jogs complete this locale with something for everyone.
Definitely a nice scenery at this spot. Good place for a walk/run. You can see the USA which is right ahead. Walking distance from downtown Victoria. Definitely go check this out.
Really great place to take pictures of the sunset and there's a pile of drift wood to take pictures on looking out over the ocean.
Spent alot of time down here as a kid, fishing off the breakwater. They have done a fantastic job putting up rails that don't impede view or the experience. Such a beautiful place great to walk and take the family
Super cool and quite accurate! A fun place for an entertaining stop!
Nice walk out on the pier. Take your date and offer her your jacket. Romantic except it smells like .. Whats the word im looking for ...hmmm.. Smells fishy!
Nice lookout point
Not a great place for kids, they'll most likely be bored as it is more of a scenic walk than anything. That said, it is a nice place for adults to check out. Beautiful indigenous murals, nice walkways and this is where the cruise ships dock so you get a good look at the size of some of these ships. I'd say worth stopping by.
Beautiful ????
Very nice place. Was passing through while on a cruise to Alaska with my wife. I recommend all stop by here and enjoy the beautiful site's.
Odgen Point is always a highlight when I come to Victoria. It's an easy walk with super nice views and everyone is super friendly. The point is a nice walk, but so is the park that connects to it. I would highly reccomend checking the whole walk out.
One of the best attractive places in the lovely Victoria BC, you can enjoy the breeze and the view for the open ocean and the giant cruise ships there
Very beautiful place to visit
Pretty cool on a sunny day...in the winter, not so interesting.
Superb walk on a gorgeous day.
An unusual way to tell time but surprisingly accurate, if stand in the right place. In November it is very cold when the sun goes behind a cloud.
A must see for visitors and locals. A coffee and snack at the Breakwater Cafe or a walk on the breakwater. Gorgeous view.
If you are a tourist on one/two day trip better avoid this.
Always so beautiful and clean I could go there everyday if I had the chance
Never disappoints! Good FOOD, excellent service. And amazing location.
Beautiful scenery
Beautiful area to walk
The sundial is embedded in the sidewalk and it is pretty cool to look at, but I wouldn't make a special trip to see it. The location at the end of the Dallas Road walkway, next to the Breakwater Cafe and the beginning of the Breakwater …
Really nice walk, and what a view
Beautiful View...enjoy watching the cruise liners come into port while eating icecream from Beacon Drive-in
Beautiful view! I would highly recommend to go when the sun is rising. …
Good place for a stroll by the ocean. Family friendly. Dog friendly.
Nice place for pics and walk on side of sea and good lighthouse walk
Beautiful walk by the ocean.
Beautiful...free parking take a romantic stroll
Good ol' Breakwater! Perfect for sunsets, sunrises and a good walk in every season!
Interesting and the sun dial itself is fun for the kids. You won't want to spend more than a few minutes at the sundial before moving on to the Breakwater or the nearby coffee shop/restaurant.
pretty
It's not good ????
I've enjoyed countless wonderful walks out the Breakwater experiencing sealife, the cruise ships, beautiful views of Victoria, the ocean brease and crashing waves. It is just a great place to go.
It was a beautiful look out! And so neat how you can walk along the breakpiont on the rocks and enjoy some marine life in the rock area.
Walk the shoreline and watch the cruise ships come in. Beautiful at sunset.
What an awesome place to feel the power of the ocean and to hear the crash of waves. Anytime I can have this experience brings about such a sense of peace and tranquility.
Loved the place. Great walk by the bay and saw 3 large cruise ships docked
Beautiful sights! Great place to see amazing views.
Always a nice place to go.
This is my favorite afternoon / evening walk...clear the cobwebs, expand the mind, feel and smell the ocean, sense the core elements of life. Some days are clear and cold, others blustery and socked in, yet each is beautiful unto itself. Walking to the end of the breakwater and back is a gift, my friend, I return home refreshed, invigorated, humbled, and feeling blessed.
Nice walk. Diverse seating. Waves are fun to watch on a windy day. Watch out for splashes!
Beautiful walk !
Great.
The best amusement.
Beautiful Location and Atmosphere. Nice spot to chill and unwind
Lovely place for a walk, and have a light lunch or coffee and scone at the Breakwater cafe with its cozy atmosphere! A must visit, close to Fisherman's wharf and downtown Victoria.
Nice stroll
Beautiful spot, especially to watch the sunset and see some beautiful artwork.
I love the walk to get to this point. It's a bit long but you may use bike as well
Closed but a beauful art work to see and go for a walk in the break water which is open.
Stilunning views and a great cafe/pub at the begining!
Nice walk beautiful scenery and sunset
Great view and location. Could be so much more. Cafeteria style restaurant.
Fabulous view, many photo op spots, there are walks nearby for a variety of skill and accessibility needs.
Very popular dive site. I think people come here for other reasons too. ????
Great place for a walk to enjoy the ocean
Great place for a quick walk in the breeze.
Great food /great views but their washroom really really needs HELP!!
Always beautiful walk. Now that it has safety rails, even better
A fantastic park, be sure to walk down past the pilot docks to find more information on the murals.
Wow. What a magnificent piece. Truly inspiring. Tells you exactly what time it is (+/- an hour or two). Amazing!
Sunny and very cold. But a favorite place to walk.
Gorgeous views.
Very nice view
Ogden Point is a serene scenic 1km pier that let's you get right out into the wild Salish Sea. At night you can truly feel the spirits of the underwater shallows as the unharnest winds and tides come crashing into the barriers of land and …
The Sundial is a landmark at Ogden Point adjacent to the breakwater and Breakwater Cafe& Bistro. One can admire the scenery from the cafe or stroll along the breakwater to the lighthouse, or watch the cruise ships coming and going. Either way, the ocean and mountain views are a spectacular backdrop.
Great fishing spot and a good walk for social distancing.
calming and refreshing
A must see local viewpoint.
Very neat! Stand on the line of the month you are in and your shadow will cast the accurate time in non-daylight savings time.
Great location. The sundial time is always off for me. Love the walk out to the lighthouse, especially on stormy days.
Fantastically beautiful walk along the breakwater, right beyond the sundial. One of Victoria’s outstanding walks especially on a sunny Spring day when the mountains sparkle with a new blanket of snow.
Central pier terminal, 10 minutes away from downtown, taxis and shuttle buses available from the pier. 15 canadian dollars for the shuttle bus round trip. You can pay cash or credit card. Running all day until ships depart.
The sundial was a lovely way to pause and look down after so much time looking out and up over the beautiful scenery! The weather was breezy and chilly, so we took time to stop at the nearby cafe too!
Love the concept and art.
I mean it's definitely more of a lighthouse right? but I guess those no light and no one lives in it and omg I have no idea what a sun dial is
Lovely place for a sunset walk. Food options and EV charging right there.
Unique experiences were had by all. We loved biking around the area!
Good food, reasonable prices and prompt courteous service
Waterfront, busy with people (good thing), birds, workers at sea and in the air, great to see
Love my evening walks here!
Super cool! Walked Ogden Point in the evening when it was dark. Very few people but it was amazing to see the city from a distance with the twinkling lights. In addition, it felt like I was just walking into the water and darkness. Definitely super cool!
Excellent views and a pathway to walk around the waters edge Lots of parking (compared to to other areas).
Amazing November sunsets here
The new walkway is fabulous
Ogden Point is a fun seawall where fisherman catch fish off the wall and at exactly 1.5km loop, it's a nice place to watch the sun set, waves and kite surfers on a windy day etc. Flat and easily accessible for all.
What a view!!! I just loved the view. Clicked nice pictures. Nice place for a walk.
I was surprised how much I would enjoy it. I guess the entree fee is what gets me. Maybe they could give away a few seed packets to make up for it. ☺️ . But we were there for 3 hours and would have stayed longer but it was closing time. So I guess value for time was definitely there. So many pretty flowers and so many Beautiful ones.
Really cool sundial, actually explains how to use it and it was fairly accurate!
Despite being a rocky beach, this is one of Victoria's best beaches. Being right beside to the breakwater and the Ogden point Cafe make it an ideal location to vist. Lastly, the Olympic mountains and the Sooke Hills add to the scenery.
Beauriful beach, lovely view with great path running above it
Loved the restaurant. Walked the breakwater afterwards. Wonderful views.
Remember that the sundial will be out an hour during the summer months. It doesn't adjust for Daylight Savings!
Nice view. Great place for photos!
My favorite magical place
Fantastic best day I've had in a long time
Love this place
Was a nice place to visit.
First time I’ve seen a sundial like this. I thought it was really clever.
It was a great day for a walk, and learned some info on early Victoria and how break water was built
Amazing walk, all year round
Beautiful sight! We rented bikes and went up the sea wall. This is a must stop along the way.
It's a dial. It uses the sun. What's not to like? Seriously, what is not to like? Yeah ok, Steve, we all know Sharon left you for that guy who wore that shirt with the sundials on it, but it's been 5 years, get over it...
Its just a sundial.. No biggie.. What's awesome is the view. Spectaculaire!!$
Magic. Sun dials arr all over Europe but I have never seen one like this. Test it out. Remember it always tells Standard Time. Then walk the Ogden Breakwater. Another scenic 1 km walk. Great place to view visiting cruise ships. Remember to take a scarf. Breezes off the Salish sea even on warm spring days can be uncomfortable. This too, is a great place to be during a stormy sea. Bring you oil skins.????
It was lovely!Lunch cod and chips. Terrific!
Fun place to see the time using the position of the sun and your shadow.
This is a nice little walk along the breakwater. It can be very windy but is worth it for the nice views. This is a popular place for a walk in Victoria.
Friend from T.O loved the walk. Ship was in which made it a bit more special for her. Did I mention I haven't seen her since 1998, but it was lovely sharing home town with her.
The sundial is a great starting point for a walk along the breakwater. There are excellent views in any weather and at any time of day. Keep an eye out for river otters.
A very scenic walk along the short but sweet sea wall type structure. The pathway was very clean and the second walkway beside the main one not only gets you close to the water but also offers some neat native artistic paintings. The Breakwater Cafe is a nice touch especially for those who are looking to get some light snacks or drinks while walking. Ogden Point should definitely be one of the destinations highlighted when touring the Downtown Victoria.
Nice view.
The sundial is fun and works accurately. But the Breakwater steals the show. Fantastic walk along the bridge and you are treated to a small lighthouse at the end. You can walk under the bridge as well, which is even more for a fun walk.
Great place to take a group of friends. Food was good, but there was only one food truck to choose from.
Amazing views!
Hey, I'm a gnomon! Daylight Savings Time - off by an hour. Hence my hand over one hour. The walk along the breakwater was very nice.
Lovely views though this a busy locale. Seniors might find it hard to avoid the speedy younger walkers.
"Nobody goes there anymore, it's too crowded" comes to mind as it always seems full. Nice views of the pier and people watching. Quite area so you can talk.
Always had a good time here. The beach view is breathtaking and the walk towards the lighthouse is just awsome! Love the sunset views here. Great place for taking pictures and doing photography. Still have to try the breakwater cafe located . Overall gorgeous place to hang out ????
Beautiful!!
Beautiful Coastal views Rich historical sites to visit an absolute must in Victoria
Great food and friendly service. The view is not bad also.
It is really nice place for taking photos.
It is cool, but I don't understand it?
Scenic and teaming with sea life...
Nice views.
Beautiful spot for a Seaview!
Lovely place to walk! Great scenery.
Beautiful place,on the right you can see the light house too
Very cool. Thanks Kanye.
Perfect day for a walk. Great views.
It's a beautiful space
A fun place to visit and explore on the weekend
It's a beach. It's pretty. There's rocks and ocean.
Lovely view and great ambiance. Great place to watch the sunset too..
Awesome for a walk or a run.
Awesome view from the light house. Its wind there so neee to be covered properly of you might get sick. Nice place to visit for an awesome walk. Has two paths one a proper one and another one that is along the actual path.
Nice snd beautiful walk! Parking few.
Nice walk along the breakwater.
Beautiful walking bridge a light house for an amazing ocean view
Breathe taking view. Pictures do not do it justice.
our goto morning walk
Gorgeous spot, plenty accessible.
Beautiful
Great little walk down the breakwater and at the sundial. Note that there are no public washrooms available.
It's a beautiful place to watch the waves.
I love this place. It's only a couple of blocks from my home and it's right beside the Breakwater. The beach is covered with all kinds and sizes of driftwood, which give lots of choices for a comfortable place to sit and enjoy the beautiful view of the mountains. At night you can see the lights of Port Angeles. You can also watch the wide assortment of boats, ships, ferries, and seaplanes, as they arrive and depart from the Victoria Harbour. Add this to the loads of friendly people you'll meet, and it makes a great place to sit, relax, and enjoy another one of Victoria's beautiful spots to visit.????????
Nice place. Friendly and welcoming staff. Good food. Will be back soon.
Nice hike here I highly suggest you walk out to the light house
Always a great place for a walk. Cruise ships are often docked or coming & going, on calm days you can often see sea life, on windy days, lots of waves crashing. A great people watching spot. Dare to chat with some, they are usually friendly!
Go to the Breakwater Cafe and tell them Ron sent you. They'll look at you funny and still give you the best service ever. Walk on the breakwater , great artwork.
Great place to take the family for a nice walk along the water, and fun for the kids to tell the time on the sun dial
The breakwater is a must for anyone visiting the city. You can walk close to the water for a bigger adventure. It gets cold quickly so always dress appropriately.
It's so serene. It was extremely windy but the kids found their own way to enjoy it. I loved the walk to the lighthouse.
Great fun ,. Remember to add or subtract an hour for time change
Beautiful on a Sunny day
One of my favourite places in Victoria. Right on the Dallas Road waterfront beside the wonderful breakwater. An easy walk for almost anyone.
Nice view a shame it was so smokey when I visited it. But I'm sure would of been an amazing view.
Great place to go for a walk !! Nice restaurant there as well for coffee and great food !!! Enjoy
Perhaps because I live in the city and pass it often I only give it 4 stars. It's an interesting addition to the walkway and tourists seem to love it ... on sunny days at least. :)
Had a delicious beer mere meter from the break wall. Hard to belive its winter in Canada.
Your phone tells the time better, but just not as fun.
So beautiful. Picked an amazing day to check out this iconic place in Vic.
Great place to de-stress and enjoy crashing waves and seagulls with all the beauty of the First Nation Murals nearby.
Beautiful Ogden point, short 15 min stroll to the end of the pier. Watch the cruise ships dock & the gorgeous view.
Cruise Terminal with easy off and on. Downtown is a 35 minute walk but there are many options to get there
Beautiful spot with an incredible vista
Beautiful area
If you're in town for a visit you should definitely check this out for the sunset or sunrise.
Awesome spot to chill.
I like big ships and they come here. Spectacular place in many ways. Windy eh
Fabulous spot to visit while in Victoria!
Beautiful place to spend time with your family and go for walks.
Bit crazy weather, but we enjoyed it.
One of Victoria's best views.
Love coming here! Such a great short walk, on a clear day you’re able to see sea life in the water. The waves are so fun if you go on a stormy day!! One of my regular spots!
This is a great spot that everyone should visit. The view of the ocean and distant mountains is great. The Breakwater Bistro is a cozy little place nearby to get food and drinks. This is where you can walk along the breakwater, it's great!
Absolutely amazing walk in the sunset as everyone talked about. Went on October 5th at 630pm and the view was simply jaw dropping. The make it better you get the beautiful colors for at least an hour before its fully dark and its simply the …
Beautiful walk to see sunsets and enjoy some ocean air!
A wonderful walk to see the view of the Olympian mountains as well as Victoria. I am always refreshed after walking the pier.
I do this walk every time I am in Victoria area. I drive from Brentwood Bay to do it because of the beauty and strength of the ocean.
Worth going to see and experience! There is the sundial at the beginning of the path which is cool to read about and try. The walk along the ocean wall is longer than it seems but has beautiful views and gets you out further into the water. …
Breathtaking sunset view!
Amazing sunsets!
Fun place, great food at Breakwater and new ice cream shop
Nice walk, good view, saw some wild seals swimming around and good tour at cruise ships if they allow.
Awesome place for pictures year round and during all weather conditions.
Love love love this place. Once your done looking at the sun dial there is a wonderful walk along the breakwater or even just the beach. You could spend an entire day here or even a wonderful afternoon. Great place to watch the sunset is at the end of the breakwater.
Great place to go for a walk, beautiful ocean view
This was amazing. The views, the locals...just everything about this experience is amazing. Enjoyed this experience wholeheartedly.
Stunning views, great to walk along the breakwater and enjoy the beauty of this place and to finish up at the local Breakwater cafe for some refreshment... or even to start at the cafe and look at the views through the window!
Nice walk along the water. The sundial is fun to try. It was of for me by about an hour. But still fun.
Great walk
Beautiful look out point, nice walk out on the sea break
Great spot for a family walk, especially for younger ones who love trying to spot different jellyfish and wildlife.
Ogden point is great. The sundial is just on the ground, not an attraction in itself. Walking out to the lighthouse on the breakwater is what it's all about though.
Love the sundial. I forgot my watch and the battery on my phone was dead. So handy to have another way to tell the time. Too bad it was cloudy and dark. ???? The beach view is beautiful and the walk towards the lighthouse is awesome! Lots of tourists off of the ships. Love the sunset views here.
Cruise port in Victoria BC. Very well built. Small walk on the breakwater and beautiful lighthouse! A nice sit in restaurant and couple of tent restaurants just for cruise tourists.
Beautiful location to catch the sunset. A long walk till the end but totally worth it.
Ogden Point Sundial is very touristy but Charming. When you get off the boat here and by boat I mean a ship, there are plenty of people to help you with the usual Canadian manners and Hospitality along with great helpfulness. There are interesting little shops as well. They will take American money but be cautious because they will give you change in Canadian money. Watch the exchange rate. It is fairly easy from here to walk into Victoria itself, it will take a while but it is a pleasant walk past the harbor and into the city. Victoria is not a large city but it is charming with much flowers.
I would definitely recommend checking out this landmark. It is an excellent opportunity to teach your kids or friends about how people used to tell time in the past. It's also not super difficult to understand! In addition, it is in a very good location with the beach literally a few feet away and the pier lighthouse walk right next to it as well. Just a beautiful part of Victoria!
Great place to spend some time at. Great restaurant at entrance
The breeze can be quite something sometimes. The determination to walk the distance to the lighthouse is tested by the unseen cold windy currents...
Awesome walk to the mini-lighthouse. For a more adventurous walk,, there is a concrete path below the Ogden Point Bridge. You are literally walking next to the Pacific ocean!
Love a stroll along this breakwater, in any weather♡
Best place for a walk or run
On a clear & warm day it's nice to take a 45 minutes walk on the breakwater to enjoy the breeze & view across Washington.
Cruise Port Terminal where it is a 20 minutes walk to the City Center-Inner Harbour with the biggest landmark EMPRESS HOTEL, accessible by 10 minutes taxi and a shuttle bus for $15 round trip. Money currency not necessarily to do since they accept US dollar as well and credit cards.
This is where the cruise ships tie up. There is the break water cafe which is a great place for a bite, a coffee or stronger and see a beautiful view at Ogden point.
Nice walk, good fishing when its not too windy, or go during a storm and feel the waves!
Long walk to the functioning light house.
Love to see here the full& open sea.best tourist place in Victoria.
Lovely walk, nice scenery lots of plaques to read explaining the breakwater history etc. There is restaurant and ice cream parlor on site. No public washroom that I've noticed, washroom in restaurant is for customers only. Suggest bringing a jacket or sweater breeze is cool coming off the ocean, always bee windy when I've been
Nice little, understated point of Interest. Managed to line up the sun across the sundial at the winter solstice.
Beautiful place to just sit and have a coffee
Great
Calm and nice spot!
Beautiful place down by the water. Love walking the breakwater. Lots of wildlife. Sunsets and Sunrises are perfect from here. Storms are amazing as well!
It can she very busy on the walk, but you can't beat the views, otter and seal sitings, and sun. As for the coffee place, If this isn't the best cappuccino in town, please let me know where is better. Definitely want to come back and enjoy a beverage at the picnic tables with firebowls.
Must visit spot when in Downtown Victoria. Nice and breezy with amazing views across the ocean! Good place for a walk/jog/run.
Great place for photos, just don't fall off the breakwater slabs like me
Great walk out on the breakwater out to the lighthouse. Or a nice walk along the coastline. Excellent little restaurant and cafe there as well. Locals love the walk but also great for tourists.
Beautiful place!
Lovely sandy beach when the tide is out with a stunning view over to the mountains in the US
Go to the thing, stand in a place and see what time it is. Neat.
Beautiful and easy to access. Lovely walk to the lighthouse.
Always an attractive drive from Tacoma area and a great end of pennisula attractive stop. We make an effort to see regularly.
Beautiful spot. We had crabcakes and seafood chowder. Tasty! Walked the pier. It was very windy but the view is amazing and we saw where the scuba divers dive.
Ogden Point is a must see in Victoria! Along with a host of other fabulous attractions for all ages.
You can see Sea Otters swimming nearby
Amaizing place to observe nature while still being in the heart of a city. The views of mountains, ocean, city, boats, seaplane, oh my... no matter the weather or season, spectacular!
Food was great!! Staff friendly and attentive. Highly recommend. Will be back.
Moving from the Sundial to the lighthouse, Ogden Point is a beautiful and serene place to take a stroll. Especially at Sunset! You have to go at Sunset! It's a simple and wonderful way to spend some time in Victoria, BC. I highly recommend it as a romantic and peaceful way to experience Canadian waters.
A nice walk with beautiful views. Can get chilly the further out you go but is always worth it
Beautiful setting and nice walk along the harbour.
Loved it. A bit windy down by the ocean but all in all it is beautiful.
Not a bad place. Had a quick stop off during my cruise last month, but was late in the day, so didn't get to see much. Looking forward to seeing it again in the future during the day.
Beautiful
Interesting spot with a nice waking path into the water. Not else much to see though
Great location for photos and a scenic walk
Truly beautiful views.
Well worth the walk, was foggy and rainy and still a great sight to see, would be absolutely beautiful on a warm clear day!!
Fantastic view you don't want to miss
I love to go to this place with my friends and family. Always a popular spot to visit when you are a tourist.
Nicer than Vancouver but lacking. Buchart Gardens is the only thing worth doing in Victoria, IMO, but don't go on a weekend or holiday. Sea to sky highway is a better alternative. A beautiful drive.
Cool to walk around can be vary Windy and sometimes wavey there a beach and beautiful view
Amazing views
Great place for a walk and see the cruise ship, birds, float planes and passing boats.
Always a nice walk along the water and seeing some cruise ships.
Walk the rocks along the sides or the main walkway on top both are amazing
Beautiful sunsets, scenic picture point and the start to a great short walk, if a bit windy, bring your coat.
Great views along the wall
The restaurant and coffeehouse cleaning service very poorly maintained. The general service is hostile an unfr8. Stay away
Great place to refresh your soul or to take a,walk with a loved one. It brings you back to a solid place where you feel you can start fresh. If your hungry there are a coupke of goid places to either grab a snack or have a meal. Definately wirth the visit
Sundial. Open sea and an old wall. Lots of people during peak season.
Love to walk the breakwater and go fishing....it relaxing me when im stressed
Great Port, friendly security great for tourists!
Way worth checking out.
It was a perfect day for a wall along the break water.
Beautiful ????
Lovely views even in the winter.. a good hour to spend with family and pets close to the water
Enjoyable little walk to the lighthouse.
Woohoo! Crazy but in a horse drawn, bicycle towing, rickshaw, uber, lyft, tour bus, taxi, water ferry sort of a way!!! There is definitely more than one way to get your first taste of Canada!
Very nice walk spot
Spectacular views, great fun to walk on the breakwater and a nice little beach. I go swimming and snorkeling here in my wetsuit. The dive shop and Breakwater Cafe are located here. Breakwater Cafe is great. Go for a walk here!
Quite windy. Nice view, but given limited shore time from the cruise ship, it might be best to save for when you have more time.
I love walking out to see cruise ships and barges arrive in Victoria. Fresh air, no garbage, absolutely gorgeous like all of Victoria Harbourfont.
Always a great view
The weather was breezy and the waves came crashing on the pier. I was totally in salt water
Awesome view enlivening wind sea spray and Dog friendly
Excellent area to spend a few hours listening to the ocean watching ships come in and go out as well as planes coming and going.
Refreshing at stressful times
It's kind of interesting. The sun dial is at the beginning of the breakwater. We quite enjoyed walking out to the end of it. Out by the lighthouse there are benches to sit and relax on. Very pleasant. We picked a great day. It was warm with a nice cooling breeze. You are on the water and it has the potential to to be cold, so be prepared.
Wonderful experience.
Absolutely gorgeous view of the ocean.
Excellent place
Very cool sundial. Beautiful walk out to the lighthouse.
Beautiful place
Quick stopover on our NCL Alaska cruise. Would have loved to stay longer as the people are extremely friendly. Will be going back.
Fun to see and experience science in action (adults), just plain fun (everyone).
Beautiful scenery, you can see all the parked cruise ships but you can't get on those cruise for tours. Sometimes there are free concerts being held here. Lastly take a walk on the bridge and hear the ocean waves.
Great Walk and with the handrails we take the grand kids
Weather was fantastic and that made it even nicer. Sun dial is cool! The walk to the point was relaxing. The walk along the water was fantastic.
First time, it was good. Its a tourist spot. The staff is ok during the season but really drops the ball for the locals. The clam chowder was gross. Less chunks of salmon and more clam. I didn't order seafood chowder. The staff is pretentious and inattentive.
Good meeting spot to go for a walk on the breakwater. For the more daring take a walk along the bottom and see all the Indigenous artwork on the walls and likely some people fishing along the way.
Awesome spot for sunset pictures and a great place to walk your dog.
How good was this salmon blt?! Great for families or couples and the prices are perfect. Thanks for the live music, I'll be back.
Super cool! I love that it tells you where to stand depending on time of year!
Very easy walk from the Victoria Inner Harbour. A must visit for all visitors to Victoria. Nice walk on the walkway to the lighthouse. Dog friendly ????
Pause here before and after walking or running the breakwater. Beautiful little spot.
This installation is a fun activity, when the sun is out, just before you walk along the Ogden Point breakwater or go for coffee at the coffee shop right next to this sundial.
Who doesn't love a stroll down Dallas Rd and the breakwater. I was here late at night and was so pleasantly surprised that the cafe over the dive shop was open at 10:30 PM! And that you can get a beer or a glass of wine. Great date spot!
Night time view!
A great place to kill time on a lazy evening. I wish there was free parking though :(
This is a beautiful place to walk! We stayed in a Homeaway rental just down the road from it! It was beautiful at sunset!
Nice area. Wish they didn't put the railing up though.
Great spot for a walk with the kids and dogs, beautiful!
Always a great Wall down the beach and breakwall! Windy but float planes, boats, scuba divers, seals, star fish, and a cute little cafe.
Beautiful views
Beautiful place to take in the sunset. Can get pretty windy and cold. Dress for it!
I've always loved the Breakwater its one of my favorite places in Victoria
Absolutely stunning pier that takes about 30 to 35 minutes to walk to the end and back. The view is stunning and there's an option to walk along the stones of the breakwater and enjoy some First Nations murals. Nice little lighthouse and …
Best place to go in a south west wind
Beautiful!, if you love the sea.
An hour is not nearly long enough to enjoy this beautiful park. We grabbed a cab from our cruise ship and didn't waste time or money with a tour bus. We were able to stay longer and really enjoy ourselves. The water fall is glorious, but so are the wild flowers and the porcupine path which I highly recommend. It takes about 20 minutes to get there from the dock.
When I got there it was totally empty
Nice
A nice place for a scenic walk, you can take a brisk walk with loved ones while watching the cruise ships and a helicopter launch pad nearby while looking at the calm sea. A beautiful terminal for huge cruise ships and a walking ramp. I would recommend this place.
Always nice for a walk on a sunny day or a rainy windy one for that matter, two completely differing experiences for sure. When I only live two blocks from the beach it would be a damn shame not to take advantage of this little hidden gem...
Cool place to visit while in Victoria.
Ogden point is a great place to enjoy the seascape! The Olympic Mountain Range just across Strait of Juan de Fuca in Washington state is Majestic. It's always vibrant when the Cruise ???? Ships are in. Now with the new parking along Dallas Road its a great place to park and have lunch. Watching ships roll in and watching them roll out again comes to mind!
AWESOME space to eat with a FABULOUS view
Was a nice walk out on the water. Great family outting.
Great place to walk in the evening and can spend some time hanging out at the end which is a small lighthouse.
It was great ????????
My sisters from Toronto were so mesmerised by the beauty of the long water front walk way.
Mesmerizing sunset views and just the perfect place to do your morning and evening walks and jogs
Always a relaxing experience
Excellent spot to visit when in Victoria especially at sunset. Parking is easy for a motorcycle.
Any place in and around Victoria is so pleasant! This walk out to the sundial affords an expansive view of the harbor and the town. The walk is wide enough and long enough to savor a memory of the views it provides. A stroll along the promenade and by shops to get to the Point is also pleasant, along a wide thoroughfare that never seems too crowded.
Its beautiful down here by the ocean
Lovely view, have never seen a sundial with the time corrections based on the month of the year before... Nice to look at for a moment.
It's very cold. Bring a jacket.
Such nice place to visit in Victoria! If you live in Victoria or is in the city for a while, Ogden Point is a nice option to take a walk, see the sunset, observe the sea life - by chance you can see an orca!!- and take a breath to back to routine!
Clean and easy to transit
Breathtaking view and horizon! I bet sunset would be wonderful to watch. It’s such a scenic place.
Beauty place to go walk
5 stars like Vibe Salon/ Empress Hotel/vSeawall
Wonderful view of the ocean and cruise ships. Perfect place to start a walk along the ocean on a paved walkway.
Scenic, Peace , Calm. Go for a walk ,jogging ,fishing, swimming or simply spend time watching Sunset.
Simple yet Beautiful place for a nice walk. Breeze, ocean and nature, if that interest you, you will love this place.
I was on a cruise so I didn't get to see much but the restaurants were amazing delicious
Great place for a walk but restaurant under construction still open though.
Beautiful place with wonderful weather where you can enjoy while you take a bycicle ride.
Awesome day and place to go
Beautiful place to visit and go for a walk.
Very morning walk here and we really enjoyed the serenity of the sea????????
It's awesome out on the ocean the wind the fresh air only a wake away from the city. When it's windy it's cool as the waves crash over the walkway and get you wet. ????
A great in town escape.
A beautiful place for a nice walk.
The Ogden Point Breakwater is a great place for a brisk walk; the Sundial is a nice addition - but not exactly spectacular...
Cool interactive sundial, where the visitor is what casts the shadow.
Serene!
Love coming here to watch the cruise ships! Walk along the breakwater and pop into the Breakwater Cafe for great food and bevy's!
Great walk anytime of year. Always the chance to see some sea life along the way too!
Great place to take a walk after a good meal.
The best view from the mountains
Very beautiful ocean site...missed it Duncan has no ocean views
Fun, great views, watch the waves, you may get splashed!
A beautiful setting along the seawall or Fishermens Wharf area. It is a great place to walk with great scenery. The sundial is close to a cafe.
This is a fun spot to teach children about sundials. A few adults need the lesson also.
Really beautiful place to go for a walk and observe the many different bird species.
It is a amazing place to visit, take pictures and walking. Near, you have parking to bikes, cars and bench where you can take a rest.
I like it Victoria have a know so many attraction side that's why I'm going over there need more parking space need more tourist attractions need more fun side fun type game
Great place for a oceanfront walk!
Nice observation point. May be able to see harbour seals if you're lucky. Looking out in the distance, high mountains are visible. Would recommend a zoom lense to capture in a more detailed manner. Being near a pier, it's also possible to see harbour pilots come and go by boat depending on how busy it is. Overall great place and remember that you are exposed to the wind.
Right at the mouth of downtown Vancouver it's very well situated close to many shops and restaurants. Picturesque but many homeless wander the street at night.
Awesome sundial. Easy to undestand and use.
Great food .and our waitress Christine went above and beyond to make sure we were happy .thanks .my crew will be back again soon .
This is the major cruise terminal area. Sidewalks are well marked to get your walk to the attractions underway. The sundial is not clearly marked and is difficult to find because it is on the ground. Nice areas for pictures and a nice long pier to walk on.
Another fine location to reflect on the past and present
I can see why the Egyptians used these.
It really worked.... It was about a hour off but close enough :)
It's been some time since I visited this café. It has changed from cafeteria style to a full service restaurant. The view is great, but service was very slow. The place wasn't particularly busy but it took a good fifteen minutes to get a cup of tepid coffee - and another ten because the server forgot the cream.
You want peace an serenity, go there
Pretty neat place to gaze out over into Washington. You can look right up the Elwah Valley and see the snow packed Olympic Mountains. They also have cool farmers markets and musicians.
Romantic walk with great views. Good date idea
Beautiful place to walk while enjoying the smell of the sea and cool wind! Great walk with a baby too!
Nice lookout
Beautiful walk along the breakwater The tide was out, so you could walk along the shore for miles
Nice place to reflect.
Great place to relax and go for a walk just minutes from downtown and marketas bed and breakfast
It was freaking hot, the sun dial was nice though. Beach right beside it. You can dip your feet in. A nice break water to walk down with a cafe in the area as well. Good times, a little to warm today though
Great place for a walk
Awesome place to go and see how much beauti is there
This was really cool. You need to read the instructions. It was pretty accurate!
The view was fantastic but so many ppl out today and no parking spots. We parked the residential parking area so i was a bit nervous about getting tickets. Luckily we did not but i did not enjoy as much due to i was worry about the parking spot
Beautiful doesn't adequately describe the sunset.
Beautiful place for a walk
Great spot and a cool little pub/restaurant/patio there along with a long pier walk
This is a short 15 minute walk from cruise ship dock in Victoria Canada along the seawall. Beautiful and refreshing quiet break!
Very cool spot. Sundial is cool but the driftwood beach there is the attraction. Lots of wildlife around.
Saturday afternoons a friend and I, stop by Ogden Point cafe for a double scoop of icecream prior to walking the dog along Dallas Road. Ogden Point has changed dramatically, but Ogden Point Cafe remains my favourite .
Wonderful place for a walk! Admire the ships from the harbor or from the breakwater. Majestic Princesses, a highlight of my day!
Beautiful place. Many sea lions in the area. Even spotted a white seal lion.
Incredible views. Great place for a bike ride or a walk, or to simply soak up the views. Has a Southern California vibe on a warm summer evening!
Sunny weather, a bit of a breeze. But not enough to have the waves crashing onto the sidewalk over the new seawall which was a good thing because I was taking pictures. The walk from the cafe out to the beacon and back is about 2,000 steps. Had hot chocolate at the Breakwater Cafe, the old Dive Cafe but much more upmarket with table service, patio dining and a wine tasting room where the old dive shop used to be. Also had a humongous slice of carrot cake. Not quite as good as mother's but comes with the cream cheese icing and added whipped cream on the sides. Nice touch. The new paved sidewalks along Dallas Rd were a pleasant walk and the lounge chairs bolted down along the way so u could sit and look out to the ocean are a nice treat. People were spreading out food for picnics. I love Victoria
Only works when its sunny
Our excursion was great; But because we where not in port long, we where not able to go enjoy the city too.
Breakwater view is breathtaking. Newly built bike + running trail is very nice. They even got chairs along the trail so you can sit on. Canada’s top 10 viewpoint in my opinion. The fact that they built 2 trails together instead of building them separately and making a big deal to fix the sewer system saved the city money. Even better!
Great place to watch cruise ships from May-September. Very busy pier when cruise ships are in. Harbour Authorities need to organize it better and they need to have a better plan to manage the traffic in and out of the pier. Next to break water and Helijet. Good place to visit
The best place in Victoria to check the time if you forgot your watch!
Amazing view
worth to visit be nice to have better weather
Man this walk is COLD on a windy day. BUNDLE UP!!
Beautiful walk on the break water
Beautiful
Amazing place to visit. Walking out on the break water and seeing the views of the harbor and Washington truly beautiful.
Pretty cool!
Cute date. Her family names Ogden. Beautiful place
Beautiful walk and amazing sunsets .... on windy days, stay off wet spots or you will get sprayed....lol....still great walk and so worth it. Lots of people, very popular.
Beautiful walk, amazing views. Must see sunsets!
Nice area to walk and catch a sunset. Nothing to do here but walk the breaker and enjoy the day. Good for a stop but nothing for kids other than climbing down to the water. Romantic, however. Restaurant nearby. Plenty of parking on the roadside. Watch the signs for parking areas. I believe it's open parking after 5pm. Not within casual walking distance from town!
This place has new owners as of a couple of years ago. It's a great place to go before dinner time when it is more casual. At dinner time, it's a bit more like a formal dining room. The food is very good. The view of the ocean and Ogden point Breakwater walkway is great.
This is an absolutely awesome place. Would recommend!
Incredible views. Wonderful place yo visit to clear your mind and enjoy nature.
Excellent place to go for a walk. We went on a really windy day with the tide in and still enjoyed the experience.
Its nice to be here
Beautiful ocean/Island scenery. Walk the breakwater wall for some picturesque moments.
Beautiful walk or bike ride. Watching the waves crash on the Wall is a great pastime, also people watching is fun.
Just a cool place to check out science.
The breakwater was better without guardrails.
Love to Show Visiters This Nice Plce..Specially whn the Cruise Ships come in !
The sundial is always interesting to check out using yourself or companions as the needle. Ogden Point is a lovely place to walk and take in the sights and sounds of the ocean!
Interesting.. by the way was very cold, we can see fish, birds, seagull
This is such a beautiful place! Especially in the evening for taking sunset pictures! Loved walking down the walkway, watching the sea gulls, ducks and geese! The cuise ships were pretty cool to look at as well! Victoria, BC, Canada is a beautiful place!
Loved it, it's the best place to go in James bay.
Great place for a nice walk
Its cool to walk down if your in the area but nothing to see really
Beautiful walk beside the water, no briney smell. Good place to watch the boats and possible marine life.
Awesome place to visit. We were there during a windstorm. Fun to see mother nature do her thing.
Love the breakwater. Nice place to walk with great scenery. Can get really nice pictures
Wonderful by day, pure magic when the night comes.
Nice place to walk. Love the sights. When your on a run, sometimes you want to get away from everything. This is a good place for that!
beautiful walk out on the point, be warned - the sundial will not work if its cloudy!!!
Walk the sea wall! Watch the big cruise ships come and go! Truly a special place.
One of my favorite places in the world!
If you are a nature lover definitely a great place, watching the waves crashing in the storm or enjoying cool breeze
It's interesting and a worthwhile installation. Good fun for visitors but gets old when you walk by every second day. Makes you try to puzzle out the mysteries of DST and longtitude.
The great place to walk out the ocean see what's going on
Great views of the ocean and a wonderful place to walk.
Bring some sunglasses/hat if you intend on coming on a sunny day! It was a pleasant walk and the view of the water is beautiful. Last weekend it wasn’t too busy and I found it easy to keep socially distant from others.
A beautiful place to walk.
Great walk to the lighthouse. Free parking along the street.
It's a long walk, but worth it!
Great place for an ice cream and walk along a breakwater.
Always come here when I visit Victoria. Fresh air and nice views
A beautiful spot
Wide open spaces. Was blustery while I was there. Interesting place. Visual treats depending on where you go while there.
Lovely Day for a walk. Lovely Scenery, however no Bathroom in the Vicinity.
Love the drive to see the beautiful ocean. Did a walk nice day.
Romatic at sunset. Cafe close to by to have a drink of water
We love Dallas road walk and the breakwater at Ogden point.Great to see the harbour traffic and the pilot boats going out to meet the freighters heading to port.
Clever, but it's still a sundial. Bit of a walk to it from the main area of town. Do the Breakwater while you are there.
Not overly touristy. Nice atmosphere
Very nice walk. You can even walk below the pier on the rectangular blocks if you want. It does get windy so dress appropriately.
What I do every trip home....take in the view, breathe the salt air, and take a walk on the break water to defeat jetlag.
Paradise is Paradise.
Can tell the time when the sun's out! As advertised!
amazing!
The Sundial itself is kind of neat, but the better part of this experience is the walk on the break water. Take a stroll out to the light beacon and experience the sounds of the ocean, complete with a great view. Guard rails are in place along the length of the walk. There are also some stairs, allowing you to walk closer to the ocean.
It was a lot of fun walked out on the break water saw fish and other ocean organizams in water waves were beautiful
Beautiful location! Unfortunately it feels like the area is under a never ending renovation. Doesnt deel quite finished.
Foggy nights!
Nifty port lots to do with in walking distance. There is no uber/lyft but the local public transit system is great.
Love walking along the breakwater with young kids now that there is a barrier. Beautiful views of the ocean, Victoria and Washington state.
Awesome to discover the tide pools in the reef when tide is out. Great spot for kids to explore and an awesome way to pass the time in the gorgeous weather!
Beautiful walk
Stopped by after a day of being out and about. Did the walk to the lighthouse and read up on the information available there. It was a calm but cool early evening and it was perfect. Loved the short walks and a chance to look around and learn something.
Great mocha latte. Beautiful view. Service good. You can't go wrong with a stop here.
Lovely place for good walk and ocean view
I love Ogden point, from the sundial to the end of the break water.
Nice place to go for a walk here, bring the kids or by yourself. Nice pub/cafe to grab a drink or lunch . Then go for a nice walk ,maybe see a cruise ship as they dock here when in Victoria
Great walk over the pier..
Beautiful place to take a stroll along the water.
good food, beautiful view, nice walk after lunch, chai lattè was great
A beautiful spot ... A perfect hub spot to kick off any one of a number "High point in the day" moments 1) walk on the breakwater 2) fishing off the breakwater 3) observe cruise ships, helicopters, seaplanes, pilot boats etc arrive/depart 4) walk down Dallas Road 5) Enjoy the view of the spectacular Olympic Peninsula, and neverending commercial marine traffic in and out of the Salish Sea 6) stormy waters / waves crashing Etc The sundial itself is also interactive and therefore more interesting than usual. I never get tired of visiting this spot, always bring visitors here.
Beautiful breath of fresh air.
Perfect place for a walk on a hot day! It was interesting looking at the murals along the pier, and watching fishermen off the end near the lighthouse.
Love to walk on the Breakwater, cruise ship watch. One of a definite fun things to do in Victoria.
Neat to see, sorta easy to forget. Your looking more at the cruise ships and breakwater instead of the sundial
Nice place to take a long walk along the water.
Beautiful simple walk lots of interesting things to see. Some quaint photo ops and occasional cooperative bird.
The best thing is watching tourists trying to figure it out after the sun has gone. Also there's an ice cream shop nearby!
We had a great time experiancing the beer tasting at Phillips brewery. I enjoyed seeing the process and machines that help can and pack the products. Overall it is definitely something different to do in Victoria, Canada.
Victoria BC
It's a beautiful place to take pictures or just do jogging. It's however near the beach and it's really windy and chilly often so I recommend that you wear comfortable and warm clothes when it's not summer yet.
Very disappointing. Haven't been down there for awhile to eat. Love to walk the brake-water but won't be back to eat. People now have to order off the menu in order to be able sit in the dining room area.
A cool & windy evening but the music at the Barge was fun with the backdrop of 3 cruise ships in dock.
Great coastal location. Great place for a one day trip to the coast. Lovely on early spring or late fall.
Super cool tourist attractions! Leave your car at the bottom and walk up if you think you can. 360 view of the south end of Vancouver Island all the way down into the states. Incredible
Went twice, once in September and once in November. We got really lucky in September and saw a bunch of wildlife, including seals, orcas, jellyfish, and otters! Didn't see as much when we went in November, but it was still beautiful with the snowcapped mountains in the distance. Would definitely recommend!
Nice walk
Really good for taking people diving, we went night diving and it was really sweet.
Fun area with beautiful walkways and scenery close by a bit of shopping a few restaurants. I'll go back
Nice scenery and nice restaurant there
