This Tourist Attraction corresponds to the category of Wildlife refuge.
Cool place to go see even though the rotting seaweed that's washed up on shore stinks. I give it a 5 stars on the merit of the driftwood art. Fantastic! A must see for any visited to this area.
Fantastic spot especially for the Beach art by Paul.
Such a beautiful place to unwind. Good place to have a walk. Also plenty of space for parking.
Great place to relax and take the dog for a walk
Look south, beautiful ocean, look north, lovely herons and swans in a lagoon , a real gem.
While the purpose of the majority of this sanctuary is to protect wildlife, this is an excellent spot to protect the sanctuary of one's mind through the peaceful and restful nature of the park... On the ocean side of the peninsula one can windsurf on the ocean, or chill by the beach. And hopefully, soon, the local food vendors will be part of the landscape (east end).
A great place to spend an whole day with the family
This is what you can expect on a morning drive at Esquimalt Lagoon. Creative Perfection.
Nice ocean view and check out the bird statues made out of driftwood
Best place to relax or to go for a walk
Beautiful and I love the wooden birds!
Wow what a great place. Lots to see. A very nice place to walk along the beach and to look at. It has sculptures made of driftwood and lots of wild sea birds.
Beautiful lagoon one of my favourite places to go
It's an excellent place to relax and enjoy the views
The ocean has no memory
Had a great time in the night with the kids and boyfriend. We went geocaching :)
It was a beautiful afternoon. So refreshing.
It's beautiful and wonderful. To bring family and observe nature and It's interactions with It's environment. Perfect for a walk.
Great beach
One of my favorite destinations. Large beach and picturesque, with lots of parking. Best when the tide is low.
A stunning spot to visit. Bring an actual camera if you have one. I only had my cell phone and the lagoon was stuffed with Heron. My mind kept imagining the pictures that I could have taken! Lots of parking, lots to see, beauty everywhere. Do yourself a favour and go.
The smoke finally starting to clear !
Long sandy beach, plenty of parking and food trucks.
One of the larger beaches in the capital region. Good views of the Olympic mountains across the Strait of Juan de Fuca. The lagoon across the road provides an opportunity to watch shore birds and other waterfowl.
Great space to take a break in these turbulent times
Hope to see a more varied variety of birds (in summer?) But a beautiful place nonetheless.
Nice sandy beach along the ocean side of the road. Quiet spot for bird watching.
Go early am! Best birdwatching spots if u get away from people and dogs
Super tranquil place if you come at the right time of day. Beautiful area with birds flying around and people soaking up the sun. Take water with you and a nice lunch or snacks. Amazing place for a dog walk or a walk with your family and friends. Forget my phone in the hotel, so DON'T take my word for it and come see it for yourself, you definitely won't regret it. Places like this make me want to make the jump to the west coast permanently
Must see.
Great place for a nature walk and to view Brother Paul's amazing beach art.
An amazing local spot! So many thing's to do, from birdwatching and photography to picnicking and food trucks!
Beautiful spot on the ocean, easy parking, very relaxing area.
It was super relaxing and quiet walking around this lagoon. The wooden sculptures are beautiful and it was sad to heard that someone in the past had tried to ruined them. As an artist myself, I think the wooden sculptures of the birds are a wonderful touch to this Lagoon since there are wood piece lying around. Also it’s nice to see seagulls hanging around as well! I really enjoyed my stroll here!
Awsome , beautiful view
A beautiful place to visit
A beautiful location with a view of the Salish Sea.
I love this place in the morning. Hot coffee and pastries at the bakery up the hill. Sit on the beach and watch the ships. One of favourite places in the world.
Great place to cool off, despite there being no shade it's always cooler by the water. Love coming down here to grab a bite at the food trucks and watch ships, planes and animals.
Beautiful peaceful place
nice place to take a first date
Amazing views and they have lots of gardens to tour. Very amazing architecture and will always find something new on every visit.
Excellent for a mindfull walk
The scenery was just beautiful. The weather was okay the road condition was okay
Nature in all her beauty! Perfect place an afternoon escape, or even a quick picnic in the beach!
Absolutely coolest place Food trucks Picnic spots Campfire spots
Nice place to take a walk. There is a castle nearby. Beautiful view.
Beautiful place to sit and watch wildlife, ships, and ponder life.
Love the lagoon it's a nice spot to go and park and just chill and gather your thoughts...you can go with friends or by yourself. It's great in the summer however there is no shade so if to much sun is not what you want...bring and umbrella or a tent.
Nice scenery & ocean view
I think this is my favorite place to be in Victoria. I could sit here all day.
Nice place to chill and relax enjoy the ocean breeze ..
A beautiful place to enjoy the view, as well as relax to the sound of the waves crashing onto the shore.
Absolutely beautiful beach very large does have water fill station in washroom as well.
Love the ocean and lovely art work.
Great views, atmosphere, beach wood, washrooms. Excellent place
Love this beach! Always a nice place to go for a walk or visit for the day. Awesome that they have food trucks here during the summer too
Esquimalt Lagoon is one of the most Serene places in Victoria, it is a awesome place to go and just clear your mind watch The Birds the boats the waves the ocean the mountains the Sun beautiful during the summer on Saturdays they have the food trucks down there with live entertainment.
I love coming here to sit by the water or the bring the kids for a picnic or just to play. Dog friendly, family friendly.
Favorite place to go in the morning
Great place to have a coffee, hang by the beach or simply go for a walk to enjoy the scenery. Well maintained washrooms on site, lots of parking available.
Gorgeous
Beautiful birds. Well preserved. Must see for bird watchers!
Nice 40 min round trip walk.
The ocean, the beach, the sun, what's not to love. Great place to meet up with friends. Driftwood sculptures, birds and animals make great photo opportunities. An afternoon there is a good spend of time. Highly recommended.
A few things to do and see There's a few paths to walk. A castle to look at. Fort rod hill is near. There's a causeway that you can drive on that separates the lagoon and the ocean. Ok place. The area is worth a visit
Love this beach. The only reason I didn't give it a 5 is because the CRD does not enforce the on leash dog areas along the beach. Signage is terrible. I don't necessarily blame people with dogs.
One of my favorite spots to visit. The views are wonderful, from the ocean to the local lagoon, to the mountains, this place is gorgeous The local drift wood art is a must see!
Fantastic place to stroll watch and relax
Enjoyed this place during Eats and Beats 2018. Will have to come back and see what it's natural state looks like. Seems like a pretty cool beach for family gatherings and such.
Excellent place to go for a walk, watch the ships and boats, and of course all the wildlife. Been a regular visitor my whole life.
Big boats!
It's the lagoon! Lol
Beautiful scenery and gives you a chance to relax. Family favorite for generations
The place shows the beauty of the west coast while you walk the coastline there are so many things to see a variety of sea shells ,fish, and birds mountain views and ship . Amazing place to walk with your loved ones
The driftwood sculptures are further down the road to your left (waterside). Great to get a photo with.
One of the best locations in Canada. 2km of a 5km stretch of beach in Colwood, BC.
Beautiful scenery...a lovely place to go for a nice, relaxing walk.
Although it can get busy, is a great place to sit by the ocean and eat lunch or go for a walk. Nice sandy beach.
Gorgeous area with one side as a lagoon and the other as a beach front mountain view area. There is beautiful sustainable wood art by an artist of a variety of different birds, fitting for what this area is. Some art of eagles, owls, geese, …
Easily one of my favourite spots to go to on the weekend and afternoons. Awesome for dates or walks by the water. Ultra beautiful.
Its beautiful.
Always beautiful, and a must stop when on the island. There's a great little bakery just up the hill, grab some mushroom pastry and eat it warm while you watch the water and the birds!
A beautiful beach to stroll for bird lovers, family and fur friends.
Great for a stroll, bring a jacket when it's windy in the winter
One of my favorites.
Long beach with lots of shells and rocks decorated with driftwood.
A very peaceful, refreshing stop by the ocean with great views. A great place to unwind. Check out the wooden bird sculptures.
The lagoon is a beautiful place to see many birds. especially Herons, Ducks and Geese. There is also a huge selection of small migratory birds. The good part is one side of the road facing the ocean where you have the tide coming in and a fairly nice beach. Quite busy in the summer time. And on the other side is the lagoon mostly calm and visited by the birds. You can have a nice far view from Victoria or from Royal Roads college.
Too many things placed on beach takes away from natural beauty. Looks junky
What a beautiful area for a walk along the beach. The area is very scenic, but what captivated us were the driftwood sculptures along the beach. They are all really creative and unique. I took.my friends visiting from Ontario and it was a great way to spend the afternoon walking around exploring. There isn't much else to do in the area, but definitely worth it for the scultpures
Absolutely beautiful. Worth seeing.
A bit busy , but nice scenes
My absolute favorite place to take my dogs! The view is magnificent.
I love this place. It isn't the shortest route, but I drive the lagoon to and from the park and ride every weekday. Something about driving that road with the ocean on one side and the lagoon on the other just erases any stress. Depending on the weather and time of day, I can stop and take in a sunset, blue skies or a storm with waves crashing into the shore. Pay attention driving down Ocean Blvd. as deer and raccoons will sometimes saunter across the road.
Just totally enjoyed the lagoon the ocean water saw the F18 fighter jet fly over it was soo quick it was a beautiful day also found some ss rocks made our day!!
This is also where the Colwood waterfront park is so it is an excellent place to watch the sun rise or take your pup for a morning walk. It is a on-leash only park but we do see a lot of people with their dogs off leash which is fine as long as they can control them. There are lots of parking and a few port a potty. We've seen storks, geese and ducks here and a family of otters at the beach front side.
Fairly busy but people kept their distance and there was plenty of parking. Beatiful weather. Decent view. Interesting driftwood character.
So lovely wear good shoes
Just needs more bathrooms.
Beautiful park with a clean beach. Nice to come here for walks. It would definitely be nice to have a picnic here in the summer, and for an evening stroll.
Great area to visit. The beach is great for kids. There is even a washroom here at the south end. I go paddle boarding here often.
Great any time of year for a walk
Beautifully beach, I was at the dog part of it at the very end. Dogs are not allowed on the better part because of the birds. Both parts are nice. The dog beach is quite narrow and very close to the street, I found a lot of the dog owners did not want there dog to play or get dirty/wet and left them on leash. Others had injured or bad tempered dogs. Unleashed areas should be for dogs to have fun if they have to remain on leash or can't play because of injury or temperment go somewhere different. Its like taking your child to the park but telling him he can't play with his friends, shame on you.
Enjoy a wonderful mountains and ocean views , also you’ll have the possibility to see orcas.
Coolest place!
Gorgeous spot to chill out and enjoy the day!
As I say to the local folk, The "Esquimalt Lagoon" is the best place on Earth for a first (with promise) last (with compassion) or Once-in-a-lifetime only date with someone you knew Once Upon a Time, or Someone You only just Met, or someone you would be unlikely to see again such a time and place who is visiting. With Panoramic Views of the Straits of Juan De Fuca, the Dockyards and the City's Southwest Edge, and the Olympic Mountain Range Soaring and seemingly flying in the sky, this beach is la creme de la creme. There is a lot of parking spots. There are numerous access points to the beach, which is granular and composed of fine pebbles as opposed to sand. Garbage Cans are Ubiquitous, making this an ideal spot for a vehicular picnic on days featuring inclement weather. For sanitary purposes, this sanctuary has multi-gendered indoor flush toilets and soap and water. There is a water bottle re-filling station, fountain and pet water bowl for thirsty critters. This is a place that Once visited is something one will either remember forever, never forget, forget to remember, or remember to forget. Either way, one will be changed. Love from Johnny On The Spot.????
This is one of Victoria's most beautiful locations. Many changes over the years, not all for the better. Parking has become more of a challenge with all the new homes and residents. Plus nobody seems to want to go all the way into Victoria anymore due to the mess it's become. Come see the driftwood art too
The driftwood animal art are really interesting and the beach is great for sun tanning and relaxing.
Great place to walk and experience nature!
I'm in this park all the time. A great place for families and dogs, geocaches and watching the run rise. On a clear day you can view the Olympic mountain range or take in the bird sanctuary. On weekends a guy will sometimes come out on windy days and fly almost a dozen kites in the air - it's quite a site to see. In the summer they have food trucks and washrooms are on site with plenty of free parking.
It’s a nice area for a walk and to spot birds and driftwood sculptures of them.
Fantastic spot for dog walks and bridge watching.
Love this place. We spend a great deal of time here with our family
Nice place to turn off, tune out, and relax
This beach is a tranquil place to bring the family, it features carved wood statues and wonderful wildlife. Friendly people and beautiful views.
Beautiful, refreshing nature
The beaches are very clean, and the sand is fine enough to go barefoot. Good place to bring out the picnic mats. No picnic tables or shelter, so a beach shade is recommended for sunnier days. Paddling on either side is easily accessible. Good spots for birdwatching and taking pictures.
Amazing nature. Paddled over from Victoria, watch for the sweet red chairs in the hillside.
It's a beautiful to park and watch the ocean waves or the ships passing in the distance. You can watch the birds in the lagoon. There is also a beautiful view of Hatley castle on the other side of the lagoon.
Love walking along the rocky beach finding treasures and enjoying the beautiful view. Love it!
Lovely beach.
Great place to view herons, ducks ,geese and a multitude of birds. Lots of parking and a spectacular setting with gorgeous views of the mountains and Esquimalt.
Excellent beach to visit. almost 2 Kilometers of beach to walk with interesting driftwood sculptures
Beautiful.Great bird watching and short walks very accessible . Bathrooms available
Beautiful!
Great place to park or hang out and take in the ocean
Lots of things made from driftwood by local artists
It has birds, it has a log riddled sand beech and usually far too many people trying to do something with their day. View is decent if there isn't a bunch of ships waiting at the pilot station. Sometimes hosts a food truck thing that can be a little overcrowded.
Love it here. It's my power spot
Just luv this spot.Near Fort Rodd Hill.
Magical!...
Great location
Victoria at her finest... Amazing views across to Esquimalt and Beacon Hill Park. Fantastic view back up the hill to Hatley Castle and one if the worlds top 10 visited movie/TV locations. Weekends often with various food trucks... Including my favorite Ice Cream truck on the island.
Nice place for walks on the beach on sunny days. Too bad I had no gear for water activities
Fun day at the beach! Kids were able to explore and use their imaginations. Plus a friendly off-leash dog area. Great place for seeing birds and we even saw a seal in the water!
Beautiful place..we visit often.highly recommended it
Awesome place to come and skip rocks, build forts, have a bbq/picnic, or just sit and talk while watching the sunset over the Olympics (and if your lucky on a clear day, Mt.Baker) Recently a local artist has made wood sculptures of all the local birds, and it's worth a walk down the beach to check them out. At the beginning of them is a troll/wizard looking dude done by someone else, and there is Mammoths down at the far side at the Royal Bay Beach Park. They've added alot to build this place up, but it's natural beauty and feeding ducks will always top it
This is a great little spot to spend a sunny day at the beach. Lots of parking and not too busy. Calm water on the lagoon side.
I love it there..too many people and cars but so peaceful
Words cannot express how beautiful this destination is.you can park and enjoy the view of the ocean as far as the eye can see.you also have a beautiful view of Fort Rodd Hill and that night it is an absolute gorgeous sight. If you are in Colwood this is a must-see. It is one of my favourite places to go in the greater Victoria area.
Very nice lil strip between the ocean and the lagoon. Nice sight lines. Beautiful views. Relaxing and tranquil in the early parts of the day.
Beautiful scenery and driftwood art, great beaches and food trucks available on the weekends.
If I have to say anything kore than a perfect place to storm watch!!!!! Then UR not a local and shouldn't go here...
Beautiful walking nature trails, love the garden we can walk through. Most wouldn't know you can go into it during the day. Amazing amazing! Nature trails are fantastic but just a friendly heads up to the public, it's not wheelchair or mobility aid friendly.
Always beautiful. I love this place.
Its so very diverse. So many birds and random awesome bouts of sea life. The people that come generally clean up behind themselves also. Which is the best part. Public bathrooms are respected and open. Nobody living in them either.
Very beautiful. Leashed dogs welcome. Food trucks on weekends
Great place to enjoy a walk with your dog all the way to Albert head lagoon down Royal beach.
I love it here! Being able to walk on the beach and cross the road to watch the birds in lagoon is a 2 for 1 experience.
Beautiful landscape. sandy beach . Washrooms. And portapotties. Dog friendly. Need permission to have a fire. Lovely setting.
I went during the week so the number of people was reasonable. I was on a bird sighting walk and had some success. Trumpeter Swan among the finds. I also brought my dog and combined my birding with taking him for a walk. The side toward the ocean seems to be off-leash for dogs, but he is so well behaved that he is never a problem. Had a great time and he had a great walk. Make sure you pickup after your pet, it is just common courtesy.
Lovely birds and views of the strait
Beautiful place to go and bird watch. You can also watch the ocean waves rolling in.
Great beach walk
This little strip of land is a gorgeous place to head to. In the summer they have music and food trucks on weekends. You can eat great food, while listening to great music, while enjoying the amazing 360° view. I would definitely come back here.
Great for dogs. Off leash area
Good place to think and chat with a friend on a log, watching ocean and facing ocean wind
A beautiful place to relax and enjoy the beach.
Great spot for walking the beach, being near the ocean. Loved the driftwood sculptures.
The Esquimalt lagoon and bird sanctuary is a beautiful place for all to visit. Vehicles should pay extra attention when driving in the area due to the high volume of people usually present. Great place to take the dog for a walk/swim, view the marine mammals and birds around, and enjoy the drift wood art all along the roadway. I highly recommend the lagoon to people of all ages.
Nice rocky and sandy beach to walk. Lots of big drift wood to sit and relax. Many people have their dog's off leash here. There is the bird sanctuary right across the road. The road can be busy. Parking generally isn't an issue.
One of the iconic places of Victoria. Million dollar views of Victoria and the Olympic Range in Washington State. On one side you can park your car and explore the sandy strip of land between the road and the ocean. Across the narrow road is the bird sanctuary which is the actual Esquimalt Lagoon. Pros: views, drive by or get out and explore, cool driftwood sculptures, picnics Cons: Narrow busy road, can be busy at peak times, only public washrooms are at one end of long Lagoon beach area
Our local beach and lagoon. Great spot, ocean one side and lagoon with a variety of birds on the other. Food trucks and music in the summer.
Great place for birding! You can walk the lagoon or sit and watch from the comfort of your car. The ocean-side is more kid and pet friendly and the lagoon side is a bird sanctuary, so just be respectful of that and you'll have a great time! Also, best to wear shoes that you don't mind getting a little bird poopy as there are droppings everywhere.
Large variety of shorebirds and ducks...and an entertaining heron.
Lots of birds and water ????????
Very nice to walk or sit by the ocean. There aren't many birds anymore. The swans have all gone. Alot less other birds.
Absolutly stunning place to visit. Do not miss it should you be visiting here in Victoria!
This beach is the best , I love all the wildlife. People are really great at social distancing
Nice view, long stretch of beach so you can find some quieter spots. Easy parking access and lots of parking.
We always like going for a walk here. Lots of water fowl, ducks, swans, herons. And on the other side of the road you have the ocean with shops going by and lots of driftwood. A good place to Zen out or chill.
Left to nature, the Lagoon is truly a wonder. You can just park and look out over the beach and water; you can walk the beach, build a driftwood house or sit on a log all day!! On the other side of the lagoon the swans are swimming. Who wouldn’t enjoy this!
Beautiful spot! So calm and relaxing!
Beautiful. Such interesting sculptures. Needs garbage cans and ban smoking. Too many butts.
It is a very lovely and relaxing beach!
Great view, clean beach, area for walking along the lagoon and lots of birds to check out. Clean washroom facilities at the other end. Lots of parking area.
Fresh air, expansive stretch of beach when tide is out, clean, several drift wood stacks, tubing channel, bird sanctuary, distant snow capped mountains, long spit, plenty of parking, can see Victoria fireworks from a distance, lots of garbage cans, washrooms at far end, did truck at far end on Fridays/weekends.
Nature at its best! So blue and beautiful! Tree logs in place to enjoy the view while taking in some sunshine!
Beautiful location lots of parking a lot to explore especially when the tide is out.
Great place to relax & feel the stress drain out! All kinds of birds including Blue Herons busy fishing!
Very wet. Very cold. Very windy. But beautiful all the same.
Great place to have a picnic or just to go for a drive or just to park and listen to the ocean or go to for a walk on the sand
Live the peaceful serenity
Love that they now have portable potties open 24hrs
It's peaceful... Great walks... Good for the soul!
Beautiful
Wonderful spot!!
This is a beautiful spot with beach on one side and the lagoonon the other. Tons of bird life as well as some really cool driftwood art. The kids loved walking along the beach, as did a lot of other people, definitely check it out if you are looking for a place to walk on the West shore.
Beautiful & serene
A very special place to see wildlife and to sit awhile to enjoy the views.
It's so beautiful here with the black sand, the different species of birds and the view. You can actually see mountains in Washington State from here. Great place to have a picnic, walk on the beach, fly a kite or get a tan.
Mother Nature. A great place no matter what your age. To enjoy the the great outdoors. The sights and sounds are priceless as well. Even better when the food trucks are here.
Great place, been coming here for over 20 years, love it
We spend tons of time at the lagoon. Beach walks, picnics, fireworks on Canada Day, and throw around the frisbee are all activities we love there. The driftwood art and food trucks are also a big highlight. This is a great kayak launch spot too. It gives easy access to paddle our in front of Fort Rodd Hill and the Fisgard Lighthouse. Probably the best beach in Victoria!
Gorgeous as ever
Beautiful. Great place for a walk or for the kids to play in the sand.
A great place to find some rare birds! Also some lovely common ones :)
Beautiful Beach ! Definitely top of the list for favorite in Victoria Area ❤
Beautiful beach, firm sand to have a pleasant walk.
Great views and amazing beach wood sculptures.
My guilty pleasure. However The SPEEDERS on motorcycles and muscle cars can be unnerving at times and ruin it. Such a gorgeous area and beach.
This stretch of road is an exceptional place on Earth.
Very neat spot for birding. We spent about an hour walking around. Beautiful ocean views.
I love coming here, no matter the time or weather. Just to chill and enjoy the beauty. Nature is always free and available to anyone who needs to connect with our gorgeous planet????????
Cold today but nice spot I m sure in summer time it would be nicer ????
So beautiful. Amazing to see the 2 different waters on either side of the road. Lots of driftwood art on the beach to amaze yourself with
An excellent place to relax and watch the waves and birds come in and out. The only knock is the road in is not straightforward and we got lost in Hatley grounds of Royal Roads (but maybe not such a bad thing to keep traffic low if possible; depends who you ask I guess).
There are many wooden sculptures along the peninsula which was a surprise. I don't recall seeing them there last time I came. It is a beautiful place to have your lunch and just enjoy the view.
Beautiful view other then the smell
Great spot for bird watching and ocean views.
Lovely, tranquil area which is great for walks and a chance to explore and play on the beach.
This is one of my most favorite places to relax. So beautiful
Loved seeing the ocean!
Nice place to walk the dog by the ocean. Too close to busy road though.
That long road had to lead to somewhere special; it led to a bridge to the end of land.
Love going to the lagoon! Has a great view
Too many birds. Just joking. A great place to walk and watch birds. Please keep dogs on leashes, though, where signage requests.
Always great to watch wildlife in action. Lots of photographers out there.
Relaxing park to stroll in the beach.
Beautiful place for a walk and to just sit by the water and chill.
For those of you who like long walks in the beach, Esquimalt lagoon has a long beach. It is a good place to go take pictures of the ocean and to look at the wild birds. On a nice day it's a great place for picnics and building sand castles. The bathroom is at the far end of the beach however it is clean.
This was a really nice place for a walk by the ocean. Be aware that the road runs right through the middle of this strip of land, so there are cars going by but it wasn't super busy. Some fun drift wood birds along the beach side. Also lots of live birds on the inside part of the spit.
Great artwork of birds made from wood pieces.
Enjoyed the birds, looking at the shells, and nature's beauty.
The beach art is amazing. And the walk ain't bad either.
Beautiful beach. One of my favorite places on the island ❤
Wonderful spot to walk along the ocean side- lagoon side and an amazing gallery of Paul Lewis"s driftwood creations.
Good place to relax
Nice beach and view. Lots of birds to see, great for kids
Great place to relax and bird watch!
As we live in Vancouver, I found this beach is so quiet which we love it.
Beautiful! But watch out passing vehicles!
Seems busy all the Time now
Great place to find Food trucks
Sit, relax, enjoy the sounds, sights and breeze by the ocean, bring your coffee.
So serine here to look out on the ocean next to all the beach figures!
Such a beautiful place to walk the dog!
A long beach with amazing views. The lagoon provides lots of opportunities for bird watching. Be sure to look for the driftwood sculptures
I've being going to this spot since I was a kid and it's only getting better. Beautiful views and lots of water foul to gaze at while the sun sets.
Wonderful
Nice views if you have your back to the road. A bit noisy from the traffic, but just tune it out, great place for a quick stop.
Great place to watch the surf break on the beach. Lots of bird taking refuge in the calm side of the sand spit. Local artist made some interesting shapes with found debris.
Gorgeous landscape. Fun to lounge or just park and relax. The beach is fun to walk
Very pretty and an easy walk for anyone. There is lots of driftwood to sit on and there are often events here.
All the carbon's the people have done in the wood. And it's so nice to walk the beach
Great beautiful area
Great birding place with ocean views. Saw a kingfisher, osprey, several killdeers, and lots of Canada geese in July 2021
Ways a great place to park and enjoy the water and mountains or go for a walk or let the kids have fun in the water and sand.
What beautiful place to spend the afternoon or to just go for an evening walk. Who doesn't love the smell of the ocean and the sound of the waves crashing on the shore. I especially enjoyed the driftwood art done by a local artist. Local bird species brought to the beach made from chunks of driftwood, or from sea shells found in tide pools. Plenty of live birds to see as well for bird watchers. We saw several species; crane, Canada goose, crow, swan, and of course Sea Gulls. Certain days of the week the food trucks roll in so you can even have a hot lunch on the beach. Two thumbs up for this beautiful place.
Great place for a walk on the beach - with or without your puppy.
Great nature walk to see lots of interesting wildlife and great art pieces of wildlife too!
Great place to bring family and friends....and the dog and just enjoy
Everyone should stop at the lagoon!
Good experience had fun with my family. Ton of ducks around if you enjoy them :)
Nice place to go and look at the sea
Colwood has worked well with Mother Nature to make sure that this is a fun trip for all. There are washrooms, spaces for dogs, plenty of parking, signage and information. It is a wonderful place
Beautiful outdoor space. Views spectacular. Local artists work outstanding. Area is clean and usually pleasant encounters with others.
A great beach to relax at! My kids love it there also.
Wonderful Ocean Walk
What a peaceful place. I was able to smoke weed for hours here and after a while even the birds were getting high. One even came up to me and fell asleep and I started petting it - but that might've just been a rock idk I was high.
Nice place to site see and walk.
Very nice walk, lots of birds around and great views of the straight and the city across the bay!
Just one of my favorite stops for food & rejuvenation.
Beautiful spot.... and unique bird sculptures....wow!
Lots of birds.
We love going to the Esquimalt lagoon with our 5 years old nephew to feed the seagulls and goose. It’s also a nice scenic spot for an afternoon walk with a coffee in hands!
Beautiful stretch of beach with a lagoon on one side and the Pacific Ocean on the other. Great place to chill and take in the views. Very close to Fort Rodd Hill also!
Been here lots. A nice beach. The lagoon behind the beach. Herons etc to watch and photograph.
Love it. So Beautiful!!! Hope the new development (Two Rivers) doesn't ruin it.
Always a beautiful location with splendid views of Juan de Fuca Straights over to Puget Sound and the Olympic mountains. Saw one of Canada's submarines on a training cruise in Royal Roads. Sun, warmth, kids splashing. Autumn in Victoria.
Stunning area. Crowded at times but so worth the visit
Nice sandy beach with driftwood logs. The west side looks over to Washington. You can park right beside you sit, and there are cool bird sculptures done by a local artist.
Beautiful views scenic sunsets and sunrises, and people not being very clothing aware and wearing far too little for far too much of them
Beautiful views lots of beach to walk along
What a great day we had here! Watching the waves roll in, build structures out of driftwood, stroll along the surf... Don't forget to bring your Timmies!
Lots of great sitting-logs and beautiful view of the Esquimalt Harbour.
I've been coming here for 19 years and love it. Gets very busy especially on the weekends, year round.
BIRDBIRBIRD BIRDISTHEWORD BBBBIRRD BIRD BIRD BIRD IS THE WORD
We cruised down here on a clear winter day. With no clouds we could see the snow capped Olympic mountains and Mount Baker all while hanging out on the beach and playing in the sand. There is plenty of parking and it's fun to watch and feed the ducks in the lagoon. Highly recommend!
Got married there. Great beach on the other side of.the road.
Wonder walk and beautiful scenery
Came here only to be surprised by dozens of Great Blue Herons enjoying a delicious lunch of surf smelt. Between that amazing sight and the beautiful beach on the other side, it's hard to love this place. We also loved the driftwood sculptures by Brother Paul.
Lovely place to stop for a break! Many choices of things to do, beach walking, searching for shells, bird watching, playing in the water, collecting driftwood, or enjoying one of the many food trucks! Garbages are emptied daily, and there are washrooms and portapotties. Lots of parking! A lovely place to spend 5 minutes, or 5 hours!
Great place to hang out with the kids and feed the birds. Hugely popular, almost all year round. Great beach for sunbathing. Free parking. Bathrooms available, with handicap entrance and parking. Usually kept clean.
Well the view is wonderful. Got one star for a filthy sub human condition of the public washroom. Feces wall to wall. Don't recommend taking kids into the public bathroom let alone going in as an adult.
Beautiful place to walk with an ocean and mountain backdrop. Be sure to bring a camera and keep an eye out for all the beautiful birds. A walk on the beach and Fisgard Lighthouse close by. A Victoria Hidden Gem, be sure to enjoy it!
A nice outing in the time of COVID-19!
Great place to stop and see nature you have the Pacific ocean on one side then the lagoon on the other. Wife and I took our dog for a walk there the other day and all three of us enjoyed the small adventure.
Nice beach it smells bad sometimes
Still one of my favourite places after 45 years.
Parking around here is typically easy to obtain and the driftwood sculptures add a nice touch to the landscape.
A pleasant place to spend part of the day. We had a seal come quite close to the shore to have a look at us. Lots of parking. Easy to social distance.
Great for peaceful walks
Great spot for you and a couple friends or family members to have some lunch or go for a walk
Beautiful views, beach is a nice walk, some wonderful beach art by local artists.
Wonderful place to be...birds craft all along the way is just superb..creativity at its best..carry windproof jacket even in summer..very windy in around the place
This place on a beach and a drivethu road is beautiful it is people friendly. There are places to park, walk and reflect. Explore it!
Always lovely to walk along and watch or photograph all the birds.
I Love this place the air i so refreshing and even mskes me sleepy lol
One of the region's favourite beaches and lagoon to explore.
Great place to visit.
I love the lagoon.. always so peaceful
Go now even if just to see the amazing bird sculptures made from driftwood. Gorgeous.
Great place to chill and watch the ocean. Although this place seems to always be busy.
Beautiful location. Great views. Lots of parking.
Beautiful place to see both Olympic mountains and oceans as well as Fort Rodd Hill beacon house. Fun place for kids to play also.
Great spot close to town to enjoy the scenic waterway. Sometimes if you're lucky, the naval fleet will be out on the water.
Ocean Blvd is now open again! Yay!! Even in the mix of fog and of the smoke from south of the border, it's still lovely here!
Pretty Sandy Beach. Not very crowded. Nice views. Clean restrooms.
Nice scenic location. Interesting driftwood sculptures along the shoreline
Breath taking sides very clean beach beautiful overall
Awesome spot , excellent view, wild driftwood art!!!!
Beautiful place to sit and watch nature unfold... ????
Beautiful place to enjoy the beach and the birds. Clean for the most part and highly accessible.
We had a picnic in the middle of a downpour, hid in the sweet log structure on beach. Still got soaked. Still the best night out.
Lovely for a long walk. Parking along most of it. Not a good walk with a stroller; you're either pushing on the sand, offroading, or just waiting on the street. A really relaxing stroll regardless!
Of you actually sit and watch the birds, you'll see very interesting behaviours. ????
Pretty. Slightly smelly but it's a beach on the sea, so whatcha gonna do? There are food trucks, which is nice.
Very pretty, awesome vibe. Great for families!
So beautiful
Great blue herons
Beautiful scenery.
Amazing place to juat hang on the beach and watch the boat traffic. Very kid friendly beach.
Relaxing if you love nature
Such a lovely spot and gorgeous beach without even leaving the city. Great place to take your dog for a walk or dip your toes in the water. Public restrooms and garbage bins make keeping the beach tidy super easy!!
Beautiful place to stop and have lunch, watch the waves or watch the birds. Tons of parking. Unfortunately hardly anyone follows the rules of having your dog on a leash in a park or in a protected bird sanctuary.
Beautiful views, sandy beach. Love coming here with the kids, lots of space to spread out
So beautiful and there was lots of room to social distancing. People was also very friendly and welcoming. Totally worth a visit.
Beautiful.
Great views of the mountains and ocean. Awesome for bird watching; I saw lots of Great Blue Herons last time I was there.
Saw different kinds of birds good place to start
Great place for a beach walk! Wonderful driftwood bird sculptures along the beach, currently dressed very festively!
Was nice watching the boats go dark
It's a great place for everyone.
awesome place to go birding.
Beautiful location for a walk or some time on the beach. Can be a little cooler as it's ocean so bring a blanket just in case.
Always a great place to unwind - let the wind do it's thing, let all the noise blow by you and rub somebody else the wrong way. From the happy kids, to the happy families to all the happy memories I've had down there. Such a calming place ... such an amazing time. No food carts at this time of the year, but my dogs still like going.
It's so beautiful here! There is always cool artwork on the beach, definitely Worth a visit
My girlfriend loved the cute wooden birds
Great place to hang any time of day. Huge stretch of driftwood Beach and lots of fowl. Beautiful ocean views.
Besides all the driftwood sculptures the birds! Unfortunately the live bird photos are on my real camera
Superhero Ben says the swimming was great!
I just love the lagoon and even the other side at the ravine and grounds of Hatley Castle! It's just such a lovely piece of heaven while I walk in the forest!
Lovely place to sit and listen to the ocean, look at the Juan de Fuca straight.
Wonderful place to enjoy a good book or for young children to play in the sand, free parking an added bonys
Absolutely beautiful place, especially at sunset and star gazing. Even more pretty with the drift wood artwork that a local artist created along the main road. Got to come here if you ever visit Victoria
Beautiful access to multiple birds and only 7 min away from city..wow!
The road along the Esquimalt Lagoon provides spectacular views no matter which way you travel. To the north and across the Lagoon sits Royal Roads University, Hatley Castle and an original growth forest. To the northwest are large hills down which falls clouds and mist. To the south are the white topped mountains of Washington state. To the east and west are the Straits of Juan de Fuca. You can drive from one end of the Lagoon to the other. There is a restroom on the west end of the road. However, walking from one end to the other first on the ocean side and then on the Lagoon side provides wonderful views. Of interest are the large wood sculptures of birds created out of the driftwood.
A must see destination just west of Victoria. Beautiful beach with massive driftwood. Great for watching the seagoing traffic on Juan de Fuca strait. On the tranquil lagoon side there are many varieties of birds to enjoy. One of my favourite locations for peaceful and mindful introspection.
Wonderful place to view a wide variety of wild birds.
Me and dog love the beach. Our favourite spot the whole year through
Love it here. Best place to relax on the Westshore.
Nice, but very popular.
Great driftwood show!!
Great spot to enjoy the view and watch some birds. Would be even better if the road didn't go through it. Hopefully the city of Colwood will look at other options for this site soon.
Other than the crazy drivers this place is not too bad
One of my favorite destinations to check out the many bird species that spent time in the lagoon an surrounding natural areas. The lagoon road also provides great views of Victoria, the adjacent Naval Port and Hatley Castle.
If you are in the Victoria area, you need to get down to the lagoon. Great beaches and tons of birds, herons, geese, etc. Excellent place to relax or go for a nice walk along the water way.
Beautiful but is too busy on any half decent day
Lovely spot, too bad about the road. I know you need access to get here, but it really takes away from the walking or biking experience along the roadside. It would be great if they blocked it off at either end. The views are fabulous and the quiet is quite lovely, especially when there are no Cars cruising by.
I use to go scuba diving on the ocean side. Great crabbing.
From Eagles to Seagulls you can see it all here..... It's like a mini reenactment of Alfred Hitchcock's movie The Birds.... Please keep the dogs on a leash. So they don't chase the Birds away
Always beautiful
Great place to walk along the water and watch the birds. You could also sit and enjoy the sun and the surf.
You wouldn't like it.
Watch the waves in the comfort of your vehicle or take a stroll along the beach. Lagoon side is calm with a bird sanctuary and views of Hatley Castle (X-Men School)
Good angle parking. Pleasant relaxing and sheltered inlet. Good ocean swimming on the beach side.
It's a great place to go with your lunch and take a break from work.
Beautiful view of the ocean and mountains and a good place for bird watching.
Beautiful place to relax and walk the beach.
Excellent place to relax
A nice calming place for an early walk.
Lovely place for picnicking, walks, birding, and stalking the wild geoduck.
It is a really nice place to visit. Good for the hole family. A nice place to sit and relax or what ever you want. Lots of parking too.
Beautiful scenery and amazing beach art! The only drawback is the road that cuts through so the stroll is close to traffic.
Nice place
Beautiful place to go for a walk, take a deep breath and reset.
Great walk and nice bird viewing. Low tide is a particularly good time to be in this area.
Fantastic place to walk and see Victoria, the Pacific fleet, mountains in Washington state across the Juan de Fuca. Lots of birds to check out and some amazing art installations. Lots of parking, also a fun drive. Definitely an amazing walk.
Comfortable with great scenery.
Needs more parking, especially right now with socal distancing they are forcing you to be close together and not space out
One of my favorite places to just hang out on a nice day
always relaxing to go with my dog
Lotts of parking if single row door to door parling but it usuall full its quite beautiful at sunset.
It's so peaceful. I love to visit here because the feeling of relaxation and peace. What a beautiful view.
Great location. Just 5 minutes from my house. Love to visit it regularly, all year long!
Can't beat the view
Always a great calming experience
Very clean beach. The sculptures were masterful.
Sooo busy, crowded, wall-to-wall cars, fumes from cars and pot. Not nice ☹️ on Saturday. Left quickly.
Nice place to hang with the old lady and look at the stars????
I often drive down to the esquimalt lagoon to peace out. I find the water so calming. I sit in my car and watch the waves and just mellow out. Im a pisces so i guess as a fish, I find water very relaxing. I find calmness and serenity when i visit there. I will continue to do so.
Great
I go here mostly daily to walk my dog. Absolutely gorgeous!!
Really neat spot! Great for a picnic.
Lovely place to sit in the sun and watch people and birds????
The lagoon is a great place to go. During the day, there are food trucks every 100 metres and a view of Esquimalt and the states across the straight. At night, you can see the lights of the city and Port Angeles through the darkness. Beautiful night and day, great place for a date, family day, or a quiet walk on the beach.
Always the best place to go and forget about life's problems for a little while especially at night when the city lights reflecting on the water
Great views of strait of junda fix a and Olympic mountains
Such a beautiful place
Lots of live birds of course... but there are several great wooden sculptures of birds too... keep your eyes open.
The place I go for relaxation and beautiful scenery. Sit or walk the long stretch of beach, look at the mountains or Royal Roads Castle, lots of sea life and a great place to bring your dog. There are also cool driftwood sculptures someone makes and leaves down there for everyone's enjoyment! Not to mention it's close to town.
The sweet sound of birds and water in the distance sure cleanses the soul.
Beautiful walk next to the ocean. So much to enjoy - driftwood sculptures, cruise ships in the distance , sail boats... The Lagoon across the road has birds, a castle in the distance, peace & quiet.
Always a beautiful drive and beautiful spots to go. I was happy to see so many people with masks on and social distancing also. Alot of Victoria doesn't so was good to see!
Beautiful. A little busy on weekends for sure. Weedays. Beautiful. In high winds best pictures for waves.
Usually not busy, super pretty
Always been my favorite place to visit ever since I was a kid! The sculptures make it even more special.
This is a stunning spot for kids, families, couples and seniors. There are a few picnic tables next to the road, bathrooms, an outhouse and an expansive beach. The ocean is on one side and the sanctuary on the other. Perfect for a beach day.
Pretty cool even on a damp dreary day
Quiet peaceful place
Amazing location to sit and relax or go for a walk.
Beautiful scene and now with the road closed to traffic it seems more open and pedestrian accessible.
Lovely spot to watch the sun rise or set over the ocean. Long stretch of sand on the edge of the water with parking, trash bins and portipotties.
Love coming to the lagoon during the week not so many people so it's peaceful and relaxing great place to unwind and enjoy yourself my dogs love it too!
Nice views
#beachart
Wonderful beach. Sit back and enjoy the beauty of this place I love it.
Serene place to relax, watch the birds, the ocean. Parking is easy and available, access is not a problem.
Picturesque family friendly dog friendly oceanside walk.
Worth a visit if you have time to spare on your island visit
Stop and get take out or bring a picnic . Spend some time and relax at the beach or do some bird watching great views
Nice sandy beach walk with the pup or a nice solo venture. Lots of parking to chill at in the car with lunch or coffee, bird watching, and nice views of the Olympic mountains and downtown Victoria.
Grew up visiting this place... And it's only gotten better... So beautiful!
We love visiting here. My granddaughters love feeding the birds. Great beach to walk on & spectacular sunrise!
Great place to watch birds, walk the beach, lookout for Oscar the seal and his friends, enjoy a burger or coffee in the warmth of your car...photography of the herons taking flight and more... But please not get close to the wildlife..this is their sanctuary and a place of tranqility.
Always something new to see
Super fun place to play and check out local art
And on the 8th day God created this place!! Why Tinker with perfection? Having said that my condolences to the recent motorcycle crash along that road and hope that something can be done that won't take away from the beauty of this awesome place.
Love to walk along the beach with no vehicle access. Found a nice surprise of birds made from driftwood. Fresh air and art, all in one peaceful location.
Nice place if u want to spend the evening watching the birds and the sea. Great fun when the lagoon festival happens
This area is beautiful with lots of birds in the lagoon. Lots of vehicles but distancing possible
A wonderful place to walk. Love the driftwood art. One can see many different birds and of course seals!
If you've never been, I highly recommend. Great place for walks, dog walks, swimming etc... this is our new Dallas rd.
Just go see for yourself. I won't spoil it.
Perfect place to walking, watching birds and relax. Lots of parking spots. Love that place!!
Love this place!
Absolutely gorgeous place to waste the day away with family and friends or take a ride with you loved one. In the summer they have food trucks and live music and there is a public bathroom. my only complaint is that my kids feet are always black after we are there and it is very hard to clean off. also the garbage from the ships often washes up there but they are pretty good at keeping it clean. Watch out for used needles too!!!
Naturally beautiful!!
What a beautiful haven for nature!
Absolutely love this place! It's surrounded with sand, wildlife and art and it's my dog's favorite place.
Beautiful place to get away into the wild side with you and your family. Great views of the Ocean coastline and country side.
Very clean . Every body was very polite and friendly too
After visiting the Fort Rodd Historic Site, we drove to the causeway and walked along it. There is the ocean on one side and a lagoon on the other. On the lagoon side there is a building that looks like a fishery. Somebody had built all kinds of birds out of driftwood on the ocean side of the causeway. Very artistic and creative. Seems to be a popular spot but it was not crowded. Good parking. Very cool and worth the stop.
great place for all ages. kids love to build things with drift wood. bring something for shade, water and snacks. great place to walk dogs on leash.
Peaceful. Great opportunity to see wildlife. There's sea otters nearby. Lots of parking by the beach.
Great for walks, great views.
Always a great spot for a sunrise or sunset.
Have to love the view. Beautiful!
Gorgeous beach perfect for walks. View was amazing. And it had wifi
Victoria is a gorgeous city! A must see on a beautiful day!
Nice place to go cool off on a hot day. Seems to always have a welcome cool breeze on a hot summer day. Local artist has made bird sculptures out of the driftwood. Amazing talent and sure adds to the walk.
My favourite place to go for a walk, coffee with friends, enjoy nature, and watch the ocean!
Not much to say, except, birds and more birds.
Always an amazing place to take the kids for a walk on the beach. Or to go with your partner for an evening stroll with the dog. I have been coming here since I was a kid and it's a great little spot. There are all kinds of Driftwood sculptures along the walk as well as lots of air and sea traffic to keep the eyes busy
Great place to go to just sit and look out at the water if you're feeling down. Awesome driftwood sculptures there as well. It's one of my happy places.
There are no words to describe the beauty of this place!
Can get a bit busy at time but anything near the ocean get 5 stars from me
Spectacular! Love watching a story ocean with the waves crashing in !
Kids love it. It's beautiful.
Nice place to enjoy a walk or just sit and enjoy the view.
Fun place to hang and play.
My favorite place for meditation and a cigar
Great place to take your dog.
Besutiful place to take the family or relax. Lots of wildlife and scenic views
Beautiful place for a walk. ????????
Nice place to come and see the birds and watch the ships sail through the Juan de Fuca but it has become much too busy with cars driving through at high speeds and is very noisy. Town of Colwood should make it a dead end Road so that you only get visitors instead of through traffic.
Nice place to relax clear your mind etc.
Lots of great scenery and wildlife. Can be a bit busy at times.
Great idea having food trucks now
Nice except for all the hideous painted sculptures. The sculptures would be lovely if they weren't painted but the end result looks like something out of a cheesy mini golf
Four stars as I have not used the washroom. Quiet location to sit on a chair or log and look at the Ocean, watch wildlife, take photos, or walk down the beach.
There are Beachside Benches, for those who can't manage walking very far, lots of sandy spots, warm water, great views, occasional Transit Service right to the Beach, easy parking too! Great for all ages of people, please leave your Pooches at Home.
It's an amazing place to go with children and enjoy the sea breeze. So peaceful.
Amazing location! We go, sit on a log and smell in the sea air. The sounds of the waves on the sandy shore is comforting. Marvelous place.
Incredible spot to bring the family to the beach.
Awesome vibe, beautiful and devine, nice place to enjoy tranquility.
Brings me inner peace and a sense of perspective by just spending time there.
It is so nice to relax here and listen to the waves , great place for a close getaway.
This is a great place for family kids and dogs too hang out and just RELAXXXXX.
Beautiful location well kept garbage free area. Good work to whomever does the upkeep. Will be back again and again
Beautiful. Popular. Food trucks in summer. A great escape close to home.
Super popular spot for all the locals. Great place any time of year to see the ocean. During high tide the lagoon is less active but as the tide goes out many birds are present. (Not just gulls lol)
Beutiful walk around the park here
Awesome place to take the doggo any day any time.
Good views lots of birds to see
Great spot to spend time with the Family.
I've been coming to the Lagoon for over 50 years never get tired of it. The most scenic place you will ever be. The Olympic mountains, looking out onto Victoria,, swans geese this everything is absolutely awesome.
I was brought up in Victoria, after 45 years I came back to the same place my brothers and myself played when we were Young.
Awesome beach for the kids to swim at. See the shells and play with logs. We hit it a few times while here for 3 days.
Beautiful place, very peaceful. We love to take our coffee down there to enjoy the view, always something to watch. Then we take a walk to see what new items the sculptures are sporting, Santa or New Years hats.
Visited the lagoon with my nephew's 2 small children. Really enjoyed the birds, sand and waves. It was a great day for the kids!
Always enjoy going here.
Awesome beach not crowded And the driftwood sculptures are amazing Great for families I took my elderly parents there totally accessable
Such a beautiful place to visit and see all kinds of birds. Now that we live in the area, I'll be visiting as often as possible!
Awesome, great place to spend time at the water
Loved it here,so beautiful and love the Art work its a place to go
Beautiful place to see birds and to walk
A beautiful stretch of beach on one side and a bird sanctuary on the other side of a road that runs right through it. When I was little I called it The Road Between Two Waters. A place where you can find peace, soak up the sun or storm watch. Worth visiting.
One of my favorite places to watch the water and enjoy a coffee
Lovely place to see the ocean and walk on a beach
Great bird watching, we identified many different ducks and shore birds. Rather too many people to be a peaceful spot, but a lovely afternoon outing.
The lagoon is a local place, can be busy but it's beautiful, with a great view of the Olympic range mountains across the strait.
Beautiful park , incredible ocean views , lots of parking. Excellent place to see a large variety of birds .
Great place. Lots of room and there's always parking available
Peaceful beautiful beach. Not as windy as I thought it would be.
This is a great beach
Wow ....so cool
The beach is one of my favourite places. And one of my dog's favourite places. I miss him. I love all of the Driftwood sculptures. I've been back a couple of times to look at them again. Now that it's spring, I'm looking forward to visiting again to see more birds. It will be a great opportunity to take some photos. Maybe I'll have time to build some sand sculptures this summer.
Stroller friendly on the roadside but unfortunately not really on the beach. Pickable fruit trees along the way: apples and blackberries in the summer. The top spot for bird watching.
Always a beautiful view from here! One of the best birding spots in the area. Lots of cool driftwood art also.
There was alot of work that went into these sculptures, they are beautiful pieces of art.
Great place to go for a walk and bring your dogs
Beautiful n serene
Naturally beautiful. A great place for a drive or walk. The bird sculptures are pretty cool!
Lovely beach. Cold water. Driftwood and driftwood sculptures. Otherside is the lagoon where you can see many varieties of birds.
Gorgeous and the driftwood art is worth the drive to see!
Great weather sunny day the food trucks were out in force
One more nice spot to visit, walk along the beach washing the wood statue and bird migration
One of my favorite beaches especially during low tide
Amazing
Great place to walk and play for an hour to a day! Dogs allowed off leash with supervision.
love it
Wind and water. Great place to go at noon for lunch. Nice people walking dogs. Ships at anchor. If you're lucky, a Canadian Navy frigate will come or leave Esquimalt.
Love Victoria, if you have a chance to visit there go!!!!
Even with a light rain, the lagoon is lovely for a walk & bird watching. There are many Herons about and the Canadian Goose goslings are very cute. Bring some bird grains to feed the birds & make them happy! Check out artist Paul Lewis's bird sculptures made from driftwood and painted to look like a variety of local birds. The sculptures add a visual palette to the beach.
Great beach lots of birds in the lagoon
Long sandy beach, picnic tables, washroom, and drifted wood arts displayed
good place to visit
Gorgeous beach to go to, would recommend swimming on the ocean side! 4 stars for being a gorgeous beach and migratory bird sanctuary Lots of rude geese and swans so -1 star
One of the loveliest places to stop by.
Beautiful Place to walk the beach or watch birds.
Lovely place to relax
Always great to go there especially after a storm
Nice view.but omg so smelly. Had to leav3
Terrific spot to watch occasional seals, otters and bald eagles. Also cool on a hot summer's day!
