REVIEWS OF Terwillegar Park IN Edmonton

Steve Penner

Beautiful river area with lots of trails!

Carrie Chasse

So many beautiful paths, you forget you're in the city. It's great to see so many happy people with their dogs.

Paul Harms

Best dog walk and over all off least park in Edmonton. Trails are well kept and more signage is being installed. Great access to the beach to cool your critters in the summer. Most people clean up but there is occasionally laziness by dog owners. Owners need to be aware of wild life porcupines, coyotes and occasional Moose are sighted. Luv it there ????????????

Chenxin Jin

Absolutely the best and biggest dog park in town.

Sarah Lewis

Best off-leash dog area in the city. Excellent walking paths, nice and wide and can accommodate groups easily. River access at many points for the dogs to swim. Good single track biking trails mixed in too. No vehicles beyond the parking lot and about 10 acres or more to roam. People and dogs are always happy here!

Luis Dominguez

Love. Too bad no picnic tables :(

Aaron Pavez

Dogs , dogs and more dogs!! If you like dogs and watch them play, this is the place. There is a lot of space to jog,run and climb. And the snow makes it so much better. This is one of the parks in Edmonton you need to visit.

Tatiana Kastner

Divers trail system; a very nice off leash dog park, a lot of parking place.

Chance Wright

Biked over to the expansive dog park on a sunny Sunday. Seemed to be a very popular spot for people and pups alike. I enjoyed the few food trucks who though to set up shop in the parking lot, a perfect spot to grab an ice cream cone.

Jaynen Prasad

My local dog park! Great place to take your puppers'n doggos for walkies. Water dogs will enjoy taking a dip in the river, and there are plenty of trails for having some nice walks through forest and fields with some pretty nice views. Lots of good places to snap photos of adorable puppers enjoying the park.

Brian Neufeld

Awesome off-leash dog park. To walk the loop that follows the river takes about 45 minutes and is 3.7km. Great to have dogs socialize with each other. Highly recommended.

cdninphx

Absolutely fantastic dog park! I’ve traveled all over the west coast of Canada and the Us with my dog and this us by far the best i have been too! Vernon, BC has a close second to this park. Enormous, can easily take the dog for 10km walk and never cover the same trails, people seem to be generally friendly and I have yet to meet single problem dog there. Sure they exist though! Only thing that drives me nuts is the lack of people picking up there dog poop on the trails, seems to be the same with everything though, a few people ruin it for the rest of us!

Barry Lawrence

A regular spot for us every summer. Tons of mountain biking and single track all the way through the river valley, as well as a super swanky paved trail that delivers you right to Fort Edmonton Park. A great place to enjoy the outdoors, and even get some beginner / intermediate / advanced riding in.

Andrea Weisson

New Footbridge is great! Time to invest in the parking lot and some of the trails. Great for biking, hiking and to bring dogs.

Brent Lawrence

Always a great place to take the dog for a swim

Alyssa Hromada-Day

Awesome park to take the pups off leash. If is a large area with multiple paths. The grounds are kept up and signs are often update to aware visitors of potential hazards. Lots of parking, and garbages for dog waste disposal all around the main trails. People are friendly and most dogs are. Tip: Learn to read the body language of dogs to prevent fights and injuries.

J Lab

Great place for dogs to run off leash. Trails are easy to navigate and there's good upkeep.

Ethan Santos

Huge park. If you love dog this is the perfect park for you. Very clean and you feel like you’re not in the city.

Team Soon Adventures

Great off leash dog park Beautiful trails for biking, hiking and running. Close to the river too with an access for swimming, paddling and fishing.

Aaron Baynes (Associate YEGPro Realty)

Sooooooo amazing I will be back here weekly. It's a little bit of a drive for us but worth it. We brought our kids and dogs and they had over an hour of fun walking and playing at the river. We will be back to walk to the bridge next time. Definitely a great place to ger outdoors right in the city.

Rose Izabelle Hayden

really amazing park no leash required even has a trailer to give your dog a quick spray down after playing in the muddy areas of the water, would definitely recommend and there are lots of other dogs to play with and very family friendly 5 stars will definitely be visiting throughout the summer

Charles C

Huge space with lots of room for your dog to run around. The bridge is pretty neat too. I'll have to see where it leads one day.

Omnious42

I usually walk here to just relax and take in the scenery. There's lots to explore ans great for bringing your dog or going for a bike ride. I've hit some decent trails there with my brothers.

Don Moody

Storm gives his seal of approval! 5 stars for his river swim adventure.

Kate Denison

We love Terwillegar Park - and my dog does even more. Gorgeous trails, puppy swimming in the summer and ample parking. Can get really mushy in spring/fall so wear appropriate footwear!

Farha Hussain

Beautiful park especially if you have a dog

I find this park clean and the trails are so nice - makes you feel like you aren't in the city for a while.

Jordan Atkins

Well groomed trails, I went biking riding 2 weeks ago prior to this review. Definitely want to go back again!

Lynn Cole

Excellent dog park. Tons of off leash area for the dogs to run. Great parking. Only draw back is the river has quite a current when it's high. Afraid for my dog if he were to run into it.

Alexander Forbes

Best off leash dog park in town. Plenty of trail to enjoy along the river while walking your dog. Also used frequently by trail bikes.

Ana Salas

Beautiful place for walks

Robin Telasky

Beautiful day! The walk to the river was amazing!

Greg Marcil

Great place for a (dog) walk, hike, trail run or a ride. Enjoy.

Plenty of trails and multiple loops to explore with your dogs or however you like. Also waterfront with easy access in multiple locations throughout the park.

Alex Swan

Tons of room to walk your dog friend. Easy walking and play space. A fantastic place to enjoy Edmonton's river valley

jyoti wagawade

Lovely park for dogs and off course for bikers too, dogs enjoy other dog’s company,,they play around and in the river water they love to jump n play. All days are busy, sometimes it’s hard to find parking place.

Eryn Spetter

Beautiful natural area that makes you feel like you're no longer in the city. Love bringing my pup here for off leash exercise.

Dan R

Great park for an easy loop on your bike, I’m sure there are more challenging trails but I don’t ride them :-(

Michelle Ratcliffe

Very big off leash park. Trails, open area, access to river, everything a dog could want. Even when busy there is so much space you aren't tripping over dogs.

Danielle Dahl

Amazing place to take your doggo!! It can be busy on weekends depending on when you go but the park is huge. We took our foster dogs there regularly and we loved it.

Nathan Mccann

Great park for walking dogs, large wide open area near the parking lot and lots of trails. Runs along the river.

AJ

Awesome little hiking area. Very easy and beautiful

Marc Leveille

Big area to walk dogs lots of trails and wide for dogs to run, walk and play

Taiger Harlton

Best dog park in the city paws down????????

Justin Kastendieck

Beautiful area, which attracts a lot of traffic so it is very busy. Still worth the view on a nice evening

Renata

It's awesome to just pull up and let your dog out of the vehicle, lots of places and trails to walk and bike ride. Wear appropriate footwear as the paths are not maintained. I don't go on the weekends though as I hear it's just full of dogs and some can be aggressive.

Pankaj Nalavde

This has become my go to, after Buena Vista park.

Animesh Jha

Lovely place with lot of trails and open places. Dog and cyclist friendly park.

Barry Poholka

Nestled in the beautiful North Saskatchewan river valley of south west Edmonton..Terwilliger (off leash dog) park is a great place to go for a walk with your four legged friends, within the very large park you'll find many multi use gravel and asphalt trails, a pedestrian bridge that crosses the river and connects to the river valley trail system. Services; porta potties. Barry ????????

Kelsey MacCormack

Great off-leash dog park with lots of trails and ponds!

James Eustis

Great dog park that has a lot of trails around for biking as well. Plenty of waste receptacles and space for your dog to run free. Usually fairly busy, but there is ample parking. In the summer there are vendors as well selling dog treats and whatnot. Great place to bring your pets to socialize.

Cory Craig

It was good walk for the dog he got to swim in the river and in a dugout chase some ducks

King

Awesome park. Trails for everyone of all skill levels

Vijay Kumar

Good place for dogs and couples with dogs . People tend to forget that this is mainly for dogs and they bring their toddlers with them which does not bothers me but eventually we do not know how the dogs will behave . so please keep toddlers away from this park or keep it along with u . precaution is better then cure .

Fried Anal

Best view to watch the sunset

M M

Wonderful place for a relaxing walk, hike or bike ride. Early mornings are best.

Chee’en Young

Nice park for hiking and biking.

Jade

Loooove this park. People definitely need to learn how to watch and clean up after their dogs so that's really irritating. Other than other people the park is beautiful. Awesome walking paths and over all a large park with lots of adorable pups.

Eric

This is the best dog park in the Edmonton area. I've spent hundreds of hours here and never come close to seeing every trail, it's always worth the drive even when I lived in Claireview or Beaumont. Tons of wide open space, shallow slow access to a large section of the North Saskatchewan River, maintenance is usually kept up very well considering the heavy traffic. If your dog isn't well socialized, this might not be the place for them as it is very busy almost all the time. Most owners are helpful and understanding, but if your dog is out of line it is up to you to be accountable and keep it enjoyable for everyone.

Mercedes Baxter

We had a great time ! Lovely large park with a big area for the dogs to run and play. Can't wait to go back and explore more of the park

Sunny P

Love this dog park! So much space, access to the river and lots of paths to take the doggos off leash!

Lisa O

Turns into other popular trails. I find this path is the best start and finish.

sam

Nice park with lots of bike trails, dogs and fishing

Panda S

Great biking/hiking trails. Two beautiful bridges en route and very clean. The trail also leads to the "accidental beach".

Stefanie W

Beautiful, spacious dog park. Would definitely recommend and be going alot more often!

Linda Lawrence

Great park for dogs, excellent trails huge playing field, river access down a small hill. be cautious during spring melting season when the river is high the banks give way. :( 4 stars because of the porta potty washrooms in the summer only. Buena visita is better of you have small kids or persons with disabilities that need proper washrooms.

Liora Levin

Very nice place!

Brian Cheung

Probably the best off-leash dog park in Edmonton. Very natural, and loads of space. Also great for hiking, cross-country skiing in the winter, and off-road biking. There is also an opening to the river that allows easy access for canoes or kayaks. Unfortunately no amenities.

Mike Pabian

I don't understand why parks need ratings. Like what, too much nature? 5 stars or stay home ????

StaxWRLD

Love this park. And I think its the best offload park in edmonton ....kids have lots of places to explore.

Ken P.

So much space, so many puppies. And with the fresh green of spring, a pleasant place to go for a walk. Remember, no smoking in the parks is allowed. Hate to lo6this place to a fire caused by some ID 10T

Priyanka G

The park is off-leash park but the trails are on-lease. I enjoy going from terwigller foot bridge to the fort edmonton footbridge. The trail has paved road, that is plus point when you have stroller.???? …

Becky Twigg

Love walking there in all seasons. Could use a public bathroom though.

Jeremy Roche

Something for everyone, lots of nice single track bike trails here, beautiful Bridges, and some nice mixed trails.

Kevin MacDonald

I went for a great walk with a friend at the park. We went the opposite direction of where the main dog part is. I really like the new bridges that they built which allows you to get to other parks.

Andrew Kim

Nice views from the top, very serine it doesn't feel like you're in Edmonton. The bridge is a nice walk across the wide Saskatchewan River. You'll see people on boats, people fishing on the river bends. The path to the bridge is very pleasant as well with very tall trees almost hugging over you.

Christie Strong

A wonderful off leash dog park. So many trails to explores and pups to meet! A great place for family pics in the fall and wading in the river to cool down in the summer!

John Hui

Good place for biking. Parking in the weekend can be difficult.

Allen Choromiec

Busy off leash dog park.

Jeff Wolsleger

Always down here with my puppy!! Only 4 stars because they need to develop it better with actual bathrooms. Lots of events happen down there. Maybe even a doggy wash spot. Paved parking lot wouldn’t be bad either. Gets muddy during wet season. Lots of open space for the dogs to run around and 99% friendly people.

Branden Cody Necula

Hands down one of the best off leash dog parks around. Great trails for bikes, walking, running or just taking the dog out. Access to the river in many places.

Devon Chipman

Beautiful park lots of really nice trails. Off leash dog park area as well. Great views of the river valley in this park

Curt

Just found out about this park. I had no idea there was a foot bridge. I definitly recommend checking this place out!! The views of the city are excellent. There are a-lot of hiking/walking trails and the footbridge crossing the North …

mary kate toma mcconnell

Its a great place. Great for people with dogs, large fields , walking paths that they can go off leash. Great for access to river for paddleboard, kayak, canoe. Great paths for long, long walks. It was a little dusty along the paths, wear outdoor clothes. Great for the food trucks parked in parking lot, got some great chocolate, raspberry Gelato

Lourdes Mercado

trails for cycling or walking and also off-leash for dogs. great starting point to go to Fort Edmonton Park, then Sir Wilfred Laurier park all the way to Hawreluk park and back.

Al Anthony (Tereall Consulting)

Great place for dogs to run and swim. Also good for taking your dog after dark.

Tracey CDNKITN

Dogs love it here .

Brady Grumpelt

Dogs 15/10 People 5/10 Perfect average.

Morena Novoa

Loved it, beautiful trails, enjoyable and nice views!

U C

Love it, clean and well signed. Many trails to enjoy..

Pj Edmonds

Best dog park in the city!!!

Mistah Zedd The ABBA Savant

Pretty decent park especially if you have a dog. Although although not necessarily ideal for a frisbee or football throwing to avoid stepping in dog doo also uneven ground. Other than that it’s a pretty good park. Never knew how much fun you could have outdoors while social distancing.

Kathe Varga

This is the best area for dogs and their owners. Lots of trails with lots of small creeks and lakes some might call slews but my dog doesn't know that. She sees water and runs to it like magnet. So imagine when Hazel realizes that the flowing shallow part of the river opposite the huge parking lot is within reach. Yippee! Yikes. But, but there's usually between six to a dozen other dogs to greet and sniff before heading to the river or to one of the many trails. It's a dog's world here. The grass is back, no more snow and no more stupid doggie jackets and snow booties to wear. Birthday suit only from now on for all our mutts. This is a real ideal doggie off-leash park for both two and four feet creatures big and small. Best park ❤ in town.

Michele Cunningham

Such a great place to walk your dog, and see so many different breeds. Great walk on the trail!

Michael Crawford

Best dog park in the city. Multi KM of trails... Has everything you are looking for... Field, tree trails, beaches by the river. Very busy on weekends so parking can be tough. Highly recommend

Remonia Stoddart-Morrison

Lovely view from the bridge which I expect will be even better in the summertime. The walking path is paved and wide.

Stovetop1321 No

Great place to take my dog to hang out and play with other dog friends. There's a nice long trail that goes around the park and connecting smaller loops if you don't want to do the bigger loop.

Francisco Gutierrez

Nice big loop for walking around the ravine, always nice and clean. Late upgrades. Could use some more benches around, would be great.

Rene Cardinal

Great place for dogs and mountain bike trails. Expensive new foot bridge built here few years ago

Daniel Blair

Excellent dog park. Watch your bumper on those parking dividers though! Unless you have a big truck that is :)

Sherry Crombie

Such a beautiful spot for dogs to run free

Xiaoran Cheng

Very beautiful park, very clean and many playful paw friends!

Emma Dajavs

Great well maintained park.

elyse h

This park is a great off-leash dog park. Beside the parking lot there is a clearing for dogs to run and it branches off into many different trails to explore by foot or on bike and runs along the river. There are wild animals who have been spotted in the park so it's best to be aware of their presence and carry on your way. Very popular in the summertime.

Geoff Best

Beautiful trails but too many people there that don't know how to use them.

Doreen De Guzman

The river is amazing. I haven't tried the biking trail but walking in the winter when full of snow is fantastic experience.

Sparrow Adventures

I take timber to this park every week and he adores it he has so much fun and so do I!! It makes walking not feel so much like a job.

Carley Haynes

Great space but more people need to pick up after their dogs!

Colette Mondor

A great dog park. Huge, with lots of variety. It has river access, a huge field, treed paths, and ponds. There are port-a-potties by the parking lot. As well, there is often a dog friendly (has dog treats) food truck of some kind during …

Diane nelson

Lots of trails and even though the parking lot seems full, there is so much space you hardly run into people. Wish they had more benches for seniors alot the trails though

Kelly P Kramer

Loved the foot bridge!

Sports Fan 21

Really neat part of the river valley. Had a really nice walk/ hike here with the family

Sal Va

Bridge is awesome, river is low, great weather. Great pictures. Awesome time

Jennifer Austin

Great park with nice trails to take your pup for a walk. Be careful with your dog swimming in the river, the current can be pretty fast at times.

Natasha Ballard

Love this park. Parking sucks but according to the city website more parking is coming. Trails are shared use and there are lots of cyclists. River access. A few art pieces to check out too! Lots of dog poop in the large field area in spite of lots of garbage cans for easy clean up.

Rosemarie Dick

It was great but I have been picking up glass pieces for 5 days off the main trails!

Lyn and Dwayne Roach

We walk out here nearly every day. Owners should be more diligent about picking up after puppy poops. However thr city does a decent job keeping the area well groomed and signed. Plenty of rubbish bins and resting areas.

TheMightySamosa

Beautiful forests, grass and the river is amazing. Lots of nice people and dogs. My dog loves it as well.

Kartik Chakraborty

Outstanding place to have a beautiful walk, run, bike, hike and play with pets. The trail is connected to fort Edmonton park and river valley which makes the biking even more fun. There are two jogging bridges to have an awesome break.

Brett Baron

Great place to take the dog. Nice scenery in the city

Marcotulio Masi Perez

It was dark so I was not able to enjoy the park that much. The pups were having fun. The space is huge and you feel outside of the city. Nice Park.

nur rashidi

Beautiful in the Fall excellent for walks and had an off leash park

Nichole McCaully

Great space! So many choices of trails, you can easily avoid groups and people if you so prefer. Always clean, with many garbage locations throughout the main path areas. A variety of bench locations if your looking to take a break too! Highly recommend for dog walks, mountain biking and just good trails, views and nature. ALSO theirs usually a food truck with !!!dog treats!!! Coffee etc...

Darwfer (Darwfer)

Great for dogs

Adriana Buzatto

Great for dogs. There is an access to the river so the dogs can do swimming, but the park needs more benches and tables. The new footbridge looks great!

Simon Crockett

We always enjoy our walk at terwillegar park. It is a large enough space that yoh can get a feeling of being in nature, not surrounded by people. There is decent access to garbage bins throughout the park, which is important in a dog park, and people are pretty good about cleaning up after their animals.

Jillian Ames

Absolutely stunning park! Kind of hard to get to, perhaps impossible if you don't have a car

J Y

Hard to remember that you are in a city when you are down here. Good there is more signage as allows ppl who don't regularly use it to have easier access if unfamiliar with it

Nicole P

Love it as much today as 25 years ago. ????

Charlene Candice

Wow, really huge dog park trails !

C.S. Elliott

Awesome, great experience.

Christina Barbon

I love this park! It's the only way to do a dog park safely. Wide open spaces, water, trails. I used to come here with my Lab 20 years ago. I live in WA state now and have not been able to find anything as accessible and safe. This is a jewel for Edmonton. Take care of it!

Brandon Morrrison

Large open area off leash dog park. Tons of areas to dispose of doggy waste and tons of room to let the little one zoom zoom.

Roger M

Nice watchin the dogs run around. Beautiful park

Neal Campbell

What a beautiful spot in the middle of a big city. This is an off-leash area so there are plenty of dogs running around and enjoying the trails and grasslands. There are lots of places to explore and great views of the river valley. A wonderful place to take your family for a little adventure!

Randy F

Great place to take your dog and to enjoy the outdoors. Lots of room for everyone.

Karanjeet Dhillon

Best place for the dog lovers...

Jillybean C

Great day on the trails exploring nature in the glorious sunshine ????????????✅????

zandro angsioco

Good for biking and walking. Lots of trail for each of them. Terwillegar footbridge was nice for a quick stop and some photos. Scenery was beautiful. It also have Footbridge going to Fort Edmonton Park. Cons: all pets like dogs are unleash... sometimes they will chsse you. Pretty scary. And the owners are just screamin for their pets name... Too bad if dogs take bite..

Jordyn Saxton

So many doggies to play with and so many trails to run!

Kevin McKinley

Lots of winding paths with small hills. The off leash area is very large with dozens of other dogs when we go.

bob dole

Beautiful park with some amazing bike trails

Jennifer Chettleburgh

It is like doggy heaven! The trails are clean and lots of garbage cans everywhere to toss doggy doo.

Jason Hubbard

Great place to walk if you have a couple of hours

D H

My dog loves it here. My fiancé and I will take her here and do what I like to refer to as “the big loop”. Though come to think of it we cut through the field and do the west side of “the loop” so I will now think of it as “half loop”. It takes about 40mins to an hour depending on weather we run with her or not. Best dog park in the city - to quote a friend, “it’s always a party”.

Nicholas Cameron

Always a great visit for any season!

Char Riedler

Great place for dogs! Lots of trails and access to the river for swimming. The new bridge is beautiful, with bench so you can take a break and watch the river. The dogs love it here!

Laurel Young

Beautiful place would have actually been nice to look around but after being yelled at for having two pitbulls who were one on leashes and not a harm to anyone as my 4 year old niece was playing and walking them, I didn’t feel like I should even stay as I was being whispered about and getting eyed down by this rude couple! I’ve been to many dog parks with my pitbulls and haven’t felt like I couldn’t have my dogs there!!

Kevin Osicki

With or without a dog it's a great place for a walk and to forget you are surrounded by suburbia. Lots of parking for either a visit or jump off point to all the connected pathways.

Poison The Well

Great, even though lazy people dont pick up their dog poop, hard to walk with all the bikes.

Chase Turcotte

Awesome place to walk your dog off leash

Micheal Jones

Huge open space, many trails, river access and lots of friendly dogs.

M Janssen

Best off leash dog park in the city. Water access, lots of trails, rarely feels crowded even when the parking lot looks full. Reminder that it’s a multi-use trail with bikes on paths; shared responsibility to keep dogs safe!!

Lujia Cai

Beautiful park but lots of owners don't pick up after their dogs :/

Kevin Kingston

I love this park. It's my favourite place to take dog. The field is great for dogs to run, it's got trails through trees to explore and lots of little pods for the dogs to swim in.

Hannah Sigrun

Beautiful park with tons of dogs. My favourite place to walk my dog.

Randy Edwards

It's a dog park. If you're not comfortable around alot of big dogs running around off leash then you should avoid!

Dale Plett

Decent mountain biking trails for inside the city. A little for everyone. Even some adventurous stuff if you are so inclined.

Fanyu Meng

Great place for family. Large and Wonderful place.

Jesse Anderson

This is a great park with a great off leash area. Only downside is often I'vd found that the trail runners and bikers using the park forget that they're cutting through an off leash area. They're likely going to be checked out by a couple pups. I've seen runners kick at dogs, I've watched bikers yell at owners. Seriously people, slow down, chill out... or maybe just go around.

Willy

Beautiful park

Erin Garossino

Favorite park in the city. Great trails, that make you feel like you're out of the city. This is a dog park, so please beware if bring small children. I also recommend caution around off leash parks in general, as not everyone has well trained dogs. I have add issues in bring my dogs in the past and dealing with other aggressive dogs. Not worth it for me to endanger my dogs safety, but that doesn't mean I can't enjoy a solo stroll through the park.

Bogart Humphrey

AMAZING Huge park....first time here and spent 2 days at 3 hours a day and we still didn't see all of it. Lots of friendly people....very few land mines around....people really do pick up after their dogs here...good for you Edmonton. You guys have a real natures gem in the city.

Joe Klement

My dog loved it, highly recommend it for dogs.

Benjamin Strelkov

Best place I've found so far in the city for mountain biking. The is a huge number of trails, all interconnected with a good combination of technical climbs and decents, some jumps, wooden bridges and everything in-between. A few of the longer climbs have good views at the top as well.

Client Services

From fog walking to hiking or mountain biking Terwillegar Off Leash Park is a great experience for anyone.

Lindsay Kowand

Love the trails there and the smell of nature in the summer.

Emily Peck

Great place for walks with your dog. Tons of trails. Garbages along the way.

Felix Falgui

A lot of nice trails to connect to make a nice ride. Nice little section with drops and jumps. Corkscrew, I am groot and firemans decent are very good trails to check out.

Luis Rico Garcia

Love this place, my dog enjoys it every time we go

Caitlyn Elliott

My fav dog park of all time. Lots of wide trails and it's huge so you don't have to be near lots of other people. The public art is so fun, and the view of the river is beautiful. People's dogs are well behaved from what I've seen and there's a truck in the summer that sells ice cream that turns into a dog treat truck in the fall!

E-ron Meadows

Great place to have fun with your. Dogs....does need more poop bag with the garbage canz

Winna Marie Francisco

This park is ideal for spring, summer and fall. A hike on the little hill is good for people wanting to train for hikes. There is a paved trail to this wonderful bridge. It was designed to look like a suspension bridge but it isnt. There are bike trails as well. During May, a couple of food trucks come and some even have pet treats. The dog park is good for the dogs to play and for people to meet each other. Bring bug spay as mosquitoes are huge - they appear on April!

C ashworth

Amazing mountain bike trails for all levels of rider!!! Love this place ❤❤❤

Ethan Kortbeek

Easy access and tons of space for the pups to run. Nicely groomed trails that are shared, lots of bikes as its a great place to go for a bike ride as well.

Kiel Stewart

Absolutely love this place. Hands down the biggest and best dog park in the city. Lots of trails and it's on the river so the pups can dive in and cool off.

denise chapman

A great dog park. Miles of trails and easy access to water. There is trail access to the river and also ponds in the interior for all of your soggy doggy needs. Trails are loops so its easy to find a path that you want. Some trails are wooded and there is also large open expanses for tossing games of stick and ball. New structures and landscaping make it a nice place to go and sit and spend the day and a new pedestrian bridge across the river has increased access considerably.

Lisa Michetti

Amazing park with many different trails - you could take a different trail each visit for a totally new walk every time! Always lots of dogs for our pup to play with and lots of spots to play in the river.

Chase M

Great park and busy!

Jaime Steinhauer

Nice area. Could use more parking. Lots of trails for biking. If you are using the off leash dog park the river is north of the parking lot. Be warned if your dog likes to swim, I always hear people say oh I guess my dog is wet now. . .

Samantha Jotie

Beautiful space for doggies and humans with the North Saskatchewan river access or swims for doggies with benches situated around the river to relax. Big open areas and trails

Lamborghini Perlini

Over 300 Ha. Good nature never had a problem

Jamiyaka Chan (Jdollprincess)

Great place to relax! This is also a great place for anyone who owns a dog bec. they have a dog park as well ????

Katherine Koskie

Really gorgeous. My dog enjoyed it a little too much.

Amber St.Jacques

We are so lucky to have such a huge offleash dog park in Edmonton. I love this park! Just wish people would be better at picking their dog poop up.

Darryl Learie

Terwillegar Park is quite a large off leash dog park that happens to be a peninsula with the North Saskatchewan River surrounding it on all 3 sides. There is a vast forested area upon entering the park. However most of the park is relatively flat with bumpy and lumpy uneven ground. In the spring when snow melts you will want to wear boots as water pools everywhere and trails become muddy. There are half a dozen fairly shallow ponds within the park. It’s a great park for flying a kite or a drone and large enough that you can easily socially distance during busy times during the Covid-19 pandemic. However the parking lot has multiple pot holes littered everywhere upon entering - which is an understandable deterrent for some drivers. I didn’t see any wildlife with exception to the many dogs running around off leash - this park does seem to be popular with people. Pack a few snacks and water because you will be walking a few miles if you intend on exploring this park.

Amanda S

This is the most amazing dog park in existence. I would be here everyday if I lived in Edmonton. Love that there is big trails or off trails to follow and access to the river. Enjoy the ponds as well but dislike the leeches. This is though the best maintained park I have experienced for awhile

Antony Ta

Beautiful walking trails that dart in and out of nice and relaxing residential neighbourhoods with speed control. Connects to Terwillegar Dog Park as well through the trail system and bridges. Great spot.

Eric B

Beautiful park to go for a nice walk. Well maintained, they have toilets for people and poop bags for doggies. Make sure your dog is well behaved before taking it off leash so it doesn't cause any issues!

Q Sang

Best place to get both you and your dog a good workout

David Coyle

One of the best off-leash dog parks in the city. Long, stretching trails, beaches, open fields and very busy. Great for socializing

Tyler D

Awesome open dog park with access to some awesome trails. It's definitely not a secret, busy place, but for good reason. Usually a little food truck there to grab a coffee, snack, or treat for your dog. Will be back to check out the biking trails in the area.

Sarthak Parkar

Beautiful and massive park to explore around

aaron graham

Great Park

Autumn Devine

Great walk and views, including a swimming area for the puppers. Also food/drink/treat trucks have started frequenting the area which makes the park experience much better! There is also a few outhouses available right near the parking lot (make sure to use before committing to a huge walk! ????)

Seffrona Z

Great open green space. Nice to bring dogs and friends

Uilleand Nunnyer

My pups' favourite place to be. Gets super poop-soup-y after a melt and you need to have excellent recall with your dogs, but the space and beauty of the park is phenomenal.

Erin Prefontaine

Terwilligar is our fave dog park to visit in the city. This time the water was really high and fast, so we couldn't go in with the kids or dogs; but it's usually lovely when the water is lower. I think the city could do a better job by installing toilets and sinks and a fresh source of drinking water. Otherwise, it's great!

Neha Vaid

Near to my place, good to see greenery in the park

Don Lubinski

Wonderful large park. The off path trail's I walked follow the edge of the river all the way from the south near the EL Smith water plant to the Henday bridge. Some rugged paths but excellent scenic views.

Jason Gong

Both my dog and I love this place

Ghost Jiffty fruit

It's a nice park/Ravine

Kiara Cooksley

I was volunteering with the Epcor riverfest. First time at this park and was pleasantly surprised with how beautiful & clean it was. There was a human/dog food truck parked near the dog park, the were incredibly friendly with unique treats. Though it was a cloudy day it was still a very enjoyable experience. Will definitely be returning to enjoy the view & explore more at this park.

Angie Williams

Great trails and a safe place to walk your dog off leash. There's a river, a lake and mud puddles!

G Brooks

Beautiful, long trails that really just kept going. I walked maybe 4km before I realized how far I'd really gone. The views are more than worth it and there are tons of places to rest when you tire out. Highly recommend taking the trails with a bike or rollerblades.

Benoit Roy

One of the best off leash park in the city. Perfect for walking and biking on the many trails.

Desirae Roth

Always a good time at Terwillegar, great paths and different circuits for different days.

Jenny A

My favourite park. It gets crazy busy though. Great for dogs, bikes, runners, walkers, cross-country skis and hiking boots. Not great for vehicles due to massive and numerous “potholes”. I think I saw an abandoned hubcap on my way out of the park!

Arif Nadeem

A wonderful place for outdoor activities

Meshon Cantrill

Lots of great views along the river. I was in the off-leash area with a friend and get dog and so the dogs were really friendly. Plus it seems like people are really good about picking up after their pups ????

Malinda Chanyi

Great dog park. Lots of space.

Kory Prince

Such a beautiful place with an incredible vibe. Really enjoy taking the dogs there with my girl.

Lauren Jarvis

Always a great experience rain or shine. Perfect backdrop for photo shoots, working out or walking your pups. Located obviously in the southwest near Terwillegar which in my opinion is one of the most desirable zones in Edmonton. Definitely a must to check out!

Ajay G

Awesome location for a great walk for yourself and your four legged friend.

Matthew Bugden

This park is a beautiful destination for dog walks, bike ride or launch the canoe/kayak/sup.

Rob Zwart

Great place to get away

David Mackintosh

Beautiful landscape, stony beaches tucked away in the back, a few hills to spice up your hike or ski, dogs everywhere of course, giant trumpet sculptures, a short walk to the ribbon bridge. Parking is getting crazy though, frequent jams

Steven Dytiuk

Awesome place to hike, bike and take the dog off-leash.

The Pepper Padre

I wish I could give this five stars, my dog loves this place and I love taking him. My problem is that sometimes (not all the time) people bring dogs that are not properly trained. This has resulted in my dog being attacked more than once. I know it's not the parks fault I'm basing this rating on personal experience, after all.

Alberta Biker

The bike trails are challenging and fun. Not too much traffic and meeting other like minded mountain bikers is great

Michelle Schnurr

We always have an awesome time.

Rauf Ramooz

One of the beautiful place in our neighborhood to watch sunset with family.

Daniela Saikik

Trails for biking, walking your dog and just walking in general! Very beautiful, have some nice trails following the riverside.

Kristie Wiwad

Great place to take a dog. Also provides easy access to the river for launching canoes, kayaks, or rafts.

Glenn Elle

This park has two beautiful fountains! A favourite place for ducks, beaver. It’s very close to the neighborhood and there’s a huge field right beside it. It’s a great place to sit down and relax.

Conor Wharton

Wonderful area to bring your dogs and just let em rip it up. Beautiful trail, well maintained, ample parking space. Two big thumbs right up.

Daniel Shim

Great place to go with your dog. Friendly people, a lack of dog poop on the ground. Near a river your dog can cool off in. What more could you ask for.

Andrew Dennison

Be sure to bring your poop bags as the city provided stations are usually out. Terwilligar dog park is part of the river valley trial network and you could start here and get to Fort Edmonton and way beyond. So please enjoy the river valley!

Doh Lau

a huge park for dog lovers, walking and biking in the summer.

Huong Trac

Best dog park in the City. Nice and open with so many areas to explore with your best furry friend.

Pyro Nemesis

Absolutely my favorite close to home dog park for my boy to venture around. We easily put on 15km with each visit.

Jack

One of my favorite places to take my dog in the winter as they have a treat truck on weekends that dogs line up to get snacks from. That adorable treat line alone is worth going to see!

Lance Pedersen

Love the addition of the adult workout equipment.

Kimberly BZ

Nice park with tons of trails. Plenty of parking. Almost all of the area we went through was dog off leash walking. Paths are mud and rocks, so can get a little muddy after rain or snow melting.

Shil

This is one of the best park in Edmonton, I love visiting here, it's close to the place where I live. It's amazing place to come with your dogs if you have any, else you can still enjoy this place sitting by the river, fly a kite or get …

Jalal Tarabishi

Good park overall, due to the huge size of the park there aren't many dog to dog interactions, and it can get quite messy on a rainy day. Other than that it's great.

Sl B

Awesome place to walk. Beautiful scenery

Sadey St. Amant

Always a wonderful place for my dog. Massive amounts of open space as well as forested paths. There is easy access to the river and several ponds, but if you don't want your pup getting wet it's easy enough to avoid by just staying in the main field. Always well kept considering the amount of dogs & people who visit!

mickey killoran

Off-leash. Not fenced. Good for dogs swimming in the river. Good for walking trails (they are on Google maps if you zoom in). I find the best place to get our dog playing with other dogs is by the water.

manav sethi

Great park to meet people. Has unleashed dog zones. Amazing view and beautiful water side trail

Travis Tessman

Great park, gets super busy though

Tyler Uiselt

Loved the 10km walk I did today, whilst waiting for my dogs to get out of surgery

Dee Roscoe

Great outdoor space for the dogs. Enjoyable to walk with family and friends. Park is well maintained with lots of garbage cans.

Alex Stevenson

Pretty clean, decent place to bring your friends.

N Y

Lots of trails to explore, my favourite park in the city

Lisa Urbano

This park is a great off leash park with many unpaved trails. I love taking my dog to this park and he loves it too. Much better than paved boring trails.

Mark J

Huge park area, great for dogs or cross country cycling. Recently added additional parking helps with overflow on busy days.

Christopher James

This is a great off leash dog park with something for everyone. Terwillegar Park is a huge area right next to the river that's been designated off leash. It has something for everyone. The park has a great mix of wide, easy walking trails and more adventurous winding ones that loop around a sharp bend in the North Saskatchewan. With a large parking lot, you start off next to a very large open field that really gives your dog a chance to stretch his/her legs. This is the most social area of the park and where you'll meet the most dogs and owners. At the far end of the field is the first and easiest access point to the river. Have no fear - this is a natural sand and river rock deposit area, so the water is quite shallow and slow moving. Being upstream to all of the facilities that discharge into it, the water is quite clean. It's easy to forget sometimes that the NS river is mountain fed, and is actually a very clean river. My dog just smells natural when he comes out. Leading off from the open area are many trail options. The wide main trails are social ones, where you'll meet the most other dogs. The smaller, windier ones are more secluded. Depends on what you and your dog like. This park is a great place for biking, cc skiiing and snowshoeing to a lesser extent. All activities that break up the pattern of normal dog walking. There are garbages placed frequently, though I will say that this is one of the dirtier dog parks. This isn't a fault of the park, but a problem with lazy owners. Make sure you call out any laziness you see. A good shaming usually breaks the habit. There are 2 major benefits over other parks in the city that I see. The river, and the volume of other dogs. Clean water to play in is awesome, and at the end of the day, your dog is there to mingle with other dogs and socialize. It is by far the busiest park in the city. Enjoy!

Andrew Steadman

This is a great off-leash park, one of the best in the city. Be warned: On nice weekends it can be incredibly busy. Often the lot is full and there are cars lined up along the street. However, if you can find a spot, you can easily spend an hour or more walking the trails. This is also a popular spot for bikes.

Jessica Thiessen

The best off leash area in the city. Make sure your dog has good recall because this park is huge, full of trees, tall grass and a lot of wildlife. Avoid evenings and early mornings because coyotes, foxes and cougars are known to frequent the area due to the proximity to the river valley.

banke sharma

Beautiful place with lots of forest trees and scenery, excellent and beautiful bridge over the river makes it mind blowing.

Theresa Toutant

Lots of nice dogs. Great weather. Water was clean.

Frederick Cundict

Great offleash park for the dogs. Generally have always encountered great dogs and good owners, all very friendly. Only once or twice in 4 years have we encountered aggressive dogs. River access is nice, especially when the water is low. During the summer months a doggy treat truck is available. Lots of parking available. Porta potties on site, as well poop bags are usually available for free.

Ron Cann

Great place to take your dog for off leash fun, water socializing what more can your puppy want. Dont forget to bring a bag and clean up after your pooch. Is usually an ice cream truck there to get something cold for yourself. Great wooded walking/ biking trails with views of the river.

Nicole Millard

My 4 pups love coming to Terwilleger! It is our favorite park to go to in all of Edmonton and surrounding areas

Liam Cusack

Lots of natural trails and open space. Great off leash area.

Kim S

Huge gorgeous scenic dog park, river for the dogs to swim in, doggie treats at the hotdog van, and everyone seemed so happy!

Angelo Gunanayagam

Great place to take the dogs and to launch your canoe/kayak/paddleboard to paddle downstream and exit around the zoo. Great evening activity and lasts a couple hours.

H- Y-L

A favourite place to cycle to. Can't wait until the route is extended to the Devon botanical garden.

Roger Jehle

Edmonton's premier dog park. It has everything trails, grass fields and forest. Many paths, and trails to explore. The river has a large shallow area that allows you to play in water as well. Use caution, as the river is fast. The parking lot has been expanded over the years but the area is still undeveloped. Porta potties for the two legged visitors. This is a four season pet playground. Have fun with your dog, and get some exercise as well. Have fun! !

Amanda Schmidt

Wonderful park, amazing dogs and friendly pup owners! It was amazing ????

Catalin Agafitei

Great park

ScorpionKnight

Huge off leash park. Takes about 1hour to do a full lap of the park. There's a section that goes right down to the river. Usually lots of dogs there so a great chance for your dog to run and play. Only downside is not everyone picks up their dogs crap. Not the parks fault...Just lazy People.

Tom Stogdale

Fabulous scenery and walks across the footbridge to the non offleash area the other side of the river. But REALLY needs a cafe somewhere around.

Lorraine Colbourne

Nice wide paths for both you and your pet! Beautiful tree lined paths friendly!! Nice ????‍♂️ around 45mins to walk the park ????

James Russell

A nice walk in the woods with the occasional view of the river, lots of dogs and friendly owners too.

Troy MD

Big open park and access to the river and hiking trails

Social Pegasus

Peaceful Area, nice place to gather my thoughts ❤️

Nadia Obaid

Reminded me of home???? Great for walking your dogs Safe for kids

Brian Howey

Great park, large area lots of foot paths.

Hinu Hinu

Beautiful park for doggos to play. Not the best park but for lots of place to move. Get ready for dirty puppers tho lol! ????

Karina

Great place to spend an afternoon with the family. ????

Heidi Lochhead

It's a nice open area with the river close by, but I don't like how close the parking lot is to where all the dogs are off leash. Also, not alot of people pick up their dog's poop... It's gross to walk around.

Brittney Oshanyk

Out of all the dog park I've been to in the city this one is by far my favorite! Whether you just want to go for a quick walk or spend a good quality time with your dog there are so many different trails to check out and many great people to meet! The only thing that doesn't give this place the whole 5 stars is the owners that choose to let there dogs openly run in the parking lot and risk getting their dogs injured. I was there today and I drive 15km for this reason and almost hit 2 dogs from owners not keeping there dogs on leashes close to the parking lot or keeping their eye on them. Keep your pooches safe! But also have some fun!!

Nitesh Gupta

Was pretty busy on Dec 5, 2020. There was even a food truck at 4 pm.

Thisisn't Myrealname

Loved it. Will be back again and again

Richard Rothery

Great cycle trails.

Dal Cosby

Super busy park, wear your rubber boots this time of year

Proper_logic

If you want to get in touch with nature that's the place to go. Untouched forest area and small trails to explore

Dan K

Amazing dog park. It goes on forever, has plenty of trails, and the dogs love it. You can come here by yourself or in a group and it never feels cramped.

PRAISE JESUS THE KING

Nice park and everything but people need to clean up after their pets, and the park could use a cleaning

Kathryn Birmingham

This is such a beautiful dog park, awesome size.. However, can people please pick up their dog poop?? I have a poop eater and going to this park is almost impossible with the amount that people leave behind.. Really sad..

Amarjot Singh

Great place to walk. Awesome views of valley, Saskatchewan rive, and the bridge. Pet friendly, you could see a-lot of dogs playing. Best place for cycling and walking down with nature. _ nature_addiction__

robert woodward

Great for the dogs off leash, river is there as well, lots of trails for your dog to walk

marcin rosol

A bit overrated but pretty good if you own a dog

Cole Wijeyaratnam

My favorite dog park in the city. The trails are nice and it's always a plus being able to take my dogs for a swim on a hot day.

Ashfaq Noor

This park is along side of North Saskatchewan River in Edmonton. The park open all year around.people enjoy walking, jogging, cycling during summer and skating during winter.

Ryan Beattie

Tones of space to walk you dogs, endless trails and if you get tired of the off leash part you can cross the foot bridge to another section that is 6km around, you’ll get your steps in here and then some! This is my dogs happy place

Tony G

All kinds of trails with lots of people and dogs.

Cheri Davis

It's a beautiful walk, so many beautiful energetic dogs and people

jigarkumar patel

Love this place..

K for Karl

Great place for a walk all year round!

greg cardinal

Great place to ride to on the River Valley trail system!

Eric LeFort

This is one of the prettiest off leash areas in the city if you ask me, especially in summer. However people who come here really need to learn to pick up after their dogs, it's becoming a bit of a crisis. Plenty of unique trails to chose from and fairly good placement of garbage bins. Can also take your dog swimming in the river there if you're comfortable with it!

Matthew Alexander -Brown

Good area to ride your mtb. But to many dogs in the area

Sara Lees

Cool trails. Lots of room for pets to play. Could use asphalt walkways for older folks and wheelchairs.

BrownTigerz TK

Nice park with so many trails to explore

Dion Keegan

I love this park! It has many trails to choose from, some longer than others. Along There tends to be some down sides to the available parking on the weekends, especially when the weather is really nice. Your dog must also be somewhat used to being around other animals as there is a lot of dogs at the park. All in all the park is a great place for your pet, tons of room to run and play!

Julian Fontaine

Great park. Lovely trails. LOTS of dogs :D. The river has a strong current so make sure you watch your dogs and kids

Trevor Lafreniere

Great location on an old flood plain from the river. They have just constructed a new footbridge that adds some more trails connecting to the other side of the north Saskatchewan. Very busy with dogs, so I you are not here to walk your dog maybe go find another park or go when it's not too busy (not the weekend!). I've run most of the trails here and it's great. You don't even feel like you're in Edmonton.

Julia V

Beautiful walking trails that go near the river. There are plenty of trails that go off the main path. You can go right down to the river when it's not too high. The dog park here is great as well. Lots of room for them to run around and explore. They even have a dog food truck that comes by on the weekends!

Rog Edo

Lovely place for Mt bike, hike walk your dog

Alicia van den Brink

One of the best dog parks I've been to! It has field space and lots of trails with water access for the dogs.

Canada Guy

Very great dogs and hiking places. Lots spot for walking, biking, kayaking etc. Everybody welcomes.

natasha dawson

love taking my dog for walks here. you could spend hours here exploring all the paths. access to the river too

Handsome Guy

This park is known as one of the best Urban mountain bike areas in Canada and for good reason. Well over 70 km of single and double track that will either satisfy those who want a nice easy ride or those who want an incredible challenge. I …

8Ball

Excellent outdoor arena. Lots to explore. Kms of trails to bike and walk.

Ashley F

THE BEST DOG PARK! Our Klee Kai loves this park. I am happy that it is very large and has lots of trails. Not a lot of parking though so its hard to get into during the busy times. REMINDER: Do not park on the street you WILL get ticketed at any time of day on any day!

Rob Edwards

Love taking the dog here

Sam Marks

Love this park! Wide open space, beautiful trails branching off, easy access to the river, friendly people and loads of happy dogs! Plenty of parking and I’m fairly new but have seen a food truck on occasion. The only negative is...I hope the bikers remember this is an off leash area! ????

Geoff Berry

It is the biggest dog park in a town. Massive and a great place to walk your dogs. There are lots of dogs there on any given day.

Anna Yang

My dog loves this park. It is so spacious and has lots of room for dogs of all sizes to run. All the dogs I've met here have been great and socialized! Only thing to be aware of is during the late summer/fall there may be momma beavers so just steer clear of the water :)

Brittany Mendiuk

Huge off leash dog park with wide open fields, natural trails and access to the river. There is lots of parking, but it gets busy when the weather is nice, especially on weekends. The parking lot gets really bad pot holes in the spring and the park gets pretty flooded from the melting snow.

Emily Lepski

Amazing dog park. It has a beautiful view of the river, with many walking and biking trails. My dog was able to swim, run, and play. There was a doggy food truck (Tangent's Treats) that had treats in the parking lot. Plenty of parking. The park is large and well maintained.

M Winikoff

Great place to hang, dog walking, people watching, loads to do along the river.

Adriana Zabel

Very nice place! My dog loves to play there! Let’s keep the park clean, some people doesn’t get it...

Kayla Manning

Beautiful park with many companies walking trails I love going here

Tristan Atherton

Lots of dogs, tons of clear well kept trails to walk.

Patrick Murray

Great off-leash dog park! Lots of parking and easy to get to. Best riverside beach in the city for dogs as it's so long and shallow out for 10 meters in many spots.

Caitlin Reardigan

Amazing dog park!! Nice long trails, right on the river. Beautiful trails with tons of dogs to meet. They also have a cute little treat stand "Tangent's Treats" where you can get treats for the dogs and cookies and a drink for you on the weekends.

Karina Martinez

Amazing Trail's ????

Nooran Ostadeian

My dog Pico love this park. All about him

Dark Phonix gaming

It was actually pretty good

Jaclyn L

This is an awesome off leash area for dogs (and humans.) Parking has always been an issue, especially on weekends, and sometimes people like to park on things they shouldn't and wreck the landscaping that was just done. There are also some stupid parallel parking spots on the road leading out of the park that make it extremely difficult to get out at busy times, and dangerous on a curve on a hill where you can't see people coming. The park itself is great, with several water access areas for your dog or if you want to take a kayak/raft/tube/whatever on the river. There are enough trails that you can usually get away from most of the people if you want to, a lot just congregate in the giant field by the parking lot. Be on the watch for coyotes or porcupines and have good recall on your dog in the event you see them. The new bridge across the river is great, but the lights shine in your eyes if you walk on it at night, and can kind of blind you a bit.

Eric Dostie

Always love going here for a walk with my friends and dogs.

R. Plett

Great park. Lots of trail options. Garbage bins throughout. Gets busy, so go early.

Zul Premji

Beautiful trails.

Steven Davis

I like that there's such a large open space for our dogs to run free. We have clean green fields, gravel walking trails, and well kept parking lots.

Marie

Love this dog park! Seems like most people pick up after their dogs, as there isn't poop everywhere. There's a beautiful waterfront for dogs to play in. Tons of trails to explore. There's often a food truck here serving people and dog treats!

Paula Griffith

Fun place for our boys to go run, meet new friends, take a dip and have a lovely walk amongst the trees. A couple of different trails allows for a short, medium or 2+hour walk. Enough to tire them out perfectly. Caution around ponds during winter break up and river's edge as ice melts in spring, or when river is high and running fast. Our favourite dog park.

Julia Shandula

Amazing big park! Our dogs love it!!!

Craig James

Great place to take kids biking as there are tons of great beginner trails. Easy access to harder trails East and West when you want a bigger challenge.

James Morgan

Lovely place to go for a walk

Jazy geff

One of the best dog parks we have. Lots of access to water and lots of trails to explore. Also lots of friendly people.

Samantha Smith

This is a huge, beautiful park with so many trails to explore. Your dog can go off leash and there's access to the river for them to swim. There are outhouses and plenty of parking. There were even 3 food trucks on the busy Saturday that I went recently.

Lyle W

Our favorite place to bring our dogs, they can go for a swim in the ponds and the river as well,, also good for trail running with great scenery.

Allendry Lizarondo

First time to take my mini schnauzer and she loves the park. The park has beaches for dogs to play along the river. There are also a lot of trails to go hiking and small lakes to visit. People are friendly except for some, probably regulars or living close by, who would give you the look like they own the park and don't want you and your dog there. Just ignore these kind of people.

Margot Allen

My favorite early morning walk

Amir Baker

One of the most beautiful places to walk in Edmonton

Johnson Philip

Just a beautiful dog park

maureen stewart

Great dog park!! Lots of parking and a good variety of terrain.

Winnie Lam

My second favourite dog park in Edmonton. The are so many areas of explore in this park. Watch out for the mountain bikes if you’re walking on the single trails. The park is extremely busy especially on weekends. Get there early or go after dinner in the summer to get a parking spot. It’s quieter in the winter or when it’s raining.

Leanne Petrin

Great park but don’t go between 10-1 on a weekend, you may not find parking.

Scott Ellis

Great paths and very well maintained.

Jay Tee

Great place to take your dog. North sask River right there so your dog can take a dip to cool off. Lots of room to run for the pups. So many trails and foot bridges if you just wanna go for a hike or bike ride. If you haven't been down there you definitely need to.

Denise Bell

It is the best place to let your dog off leash and to have a different walk every time. There is so many paths. It never is the same. Awesome

Patricia Hall

Love this dog park! Large area with many paths for our dog Asher to roam off leash and swim in the river!

John Cha

If you're looking for an easy walk, I highly recommend this place. Plus, you get to see lots of happy dogs running around.

Shelby Stewart

Lots of pathes to explore with your furry friend!

Tommie Thacker

Nice place to go.

Incredible off leash dog park in such a beautiful rural area! Nice river paths and trails! Favorite dog park ever.

Relaxing evening walk

Eagleize

A really good place to bring dogs. Good for mtb too.

Open and spacious. Excellent place to socialize your dogs with a great variety of others. River access.

Susan Williams

Great trails for shorter or longer hikes & you can take your dogs (off-leash) along too!

Brandy Van Abs

I love this park. The dogs enjoy it so much, there's several different trails and paths to take. If you're interested in geocaching there are several down there.

Terry Heatherington

Great vet clinic! Care for our beloved fur babies as if they were their own. Highly recommend!

Kevyn Yu

Nice park by the river valley. More like a dog park. Too bad we didn't bring our dog. Next time...

Jonathan Bradbury

Lots of dogs! Busy but not crowded. A great place for a leisurely walk.

Darrell Goodall

Good place to go with your dog's. Would be nice if people would clean up behind their animals. I am not sure if it's always there, but there was a food truck for dogs there when I went. They had everything from doggy ice cream to home made dog treats. There is also a couple of good spots for fishing the North Saskatchewan River.

TheStoicOne

Been using Terwilligar Park for many years, and I can't say enough good things about it. It's such a treat to have in the city, that I almost don't want more people to know about it. The parking has been expanded to meet demand, which has been the biggest challenge over the years. Otherwise the community using the park is great, with the bikes, runners, and dogs living in reasonable harmony.

John Howe

Lovely place to get outside and 'blow the cobwebs away'. Great for dogs too and longer walks for the more adventurous. Car park needs resurfacing- extremely rough to drive over.

Tami Bartel

Went biking on these lovely trails. Quite populated but good

James Harrott

The best dog park and leisurely hiking area in edmonton. A really great mountain biking hub too. It connects with the rest of the river valley trail network of course.

Brayden Engelking

Nice trails but some need work

dwayne radbourne

great place to go biking and hiking. off leash dog area is also fun for the frodo's

Just A Guy

The parking lot can be larger, great park.

jatinder bagga

Zane my furbaby loves going to this park, it has beautiful trails, river for swimming and the part I do like about this park it is never overly crowded

James Hornbeck

Awesome place to take your dog. Lots of space trails and water to play in.

brian mathieson

Great place to take your dog, or go for a bike ride, a walk or just to see the river

Zach Ivanitz

Beautiful park with lots of mountain biking, walking, and doggo trails. Off leash area could be reworked.

Dustin Wegner

Very nice park, lots of biking trails, kid and dog friendly as well.

Ramon Zec

My puppy loves this park. So many other dogs to play with and the river is awesome

Aaron Sorensen

Excellent walk and biking path with some very scenic spots to view and some great off path walking spots.

Kim Goddard-Rains

We had a great afternoon watching the dogs play and frolic in the water. It's a great neighbourhood place to go.

Albino Puddle

Lots of parking, tons of different trails, benches all over the place and enough garbage cans to be convenient! Plus access to the river. Great place to take the dogs for a good walk. Feels like you're no longer in the city.

Ben Adams

It is easy to do 24 km on these trails and the scenery is amazing. If you enjoy Stairs this place is for you ????. The dog parks is great too.

M K

Beautiful and open off-leash open dog "park". Came with a friend. Garbage cans around the area make it easy to bring treats while walking your little pupper. All the dogs I met seemed to love all the space to roam about! 10/10 Would visit again

jeff Lerue

Amazing spot to walk your dog, ride your bike or just enjoy all the beautiful trails and the little lakes in the middle of the park. There are groomed gravel trails and tight dirt trails through the trees. The little lakes are great for your dog to swim in, just keep an eye out for leeches. You could easily spend a good afternoon exploring the whole park.

Micheal Enders

Large dog park with a long, wide, wooded walking trail. Easy access to the river makes it a good place for the dog to swim in the warmer months. Ample parking.

Marcos Carvalho

The best dog park in Edmonton.

Andreita Botero

Great dog park

Dave Hunt

Fantastic biking, walking trails. Wide open spaces for your dogs to run.

Spencer Runkvist

As far as off leash parks in Edmonton go this is one of my favourite. It has a blend of open area for fetch and wooded area for a scenic walk. Check it out if you haven’t already.

hnnsquatch toboggan

Love taking my dogs here. Very easy to forget your right in the city for a couple of hours.

Matt W

Best dog park in the whole city. A peninsula that's got tons of trail options to go as long or short as you want. Food trucks show up in the summer in the parking lot too

Jennifer Neumann

My dog and I loved it. Nice park. Lots of trails. Great that there are lots of garbage cans.

Rahul

Great place to hang out in the summer time. Cheesecake ice cream is great from the ice cream truck

MM

Tax dollars well spent.

janet spiess

Wonderful beautiful place. Nice trails. You think you have left the city.

Devon Pollock

Huge, great access, wonderful view. Hard to believe something this lovely is this far into the city.

Haitham Alzahrani

K Tech

Robert Mahon

Great place to go for a walk along the river. Safe place for your pet

Shevaar Smith

Nice open space to walk, ride or exercise.

Cassandra Bayly

Clean, beautiful, great bike trails. I love this place and go often!

Jill Whitten

It's a lovely place to take your kids or pets, lots of walking trails and access to the river. However, on a hot summer day I was surprised to find that this park does not offer a single water fountain.

Ryan Bagnell

Great place, very busy parking lot at times but more than enough space for everyone ,,, Cooper gives 4/5 waggy tails

Sarah Edwards

Because of the paved path and elevation I use this off-leash park in the spring, and whenever there has been a lot of rain. The park grounds seem to produce less mud than other places. The park is long narrow strip that runs along the edge of the river valley. There are trees and open areas, and some picnic benches if you need a rest. Because of the limited space people seem to take more care to ensure their dogs are under control in this park than other parks - which is good as the pathway is a multi-use trail.

Chris Coates

We loved it! This place has good and relaxing trails as well as awesome views. Definitely one of our favorite spots.

Sandra Johnston

Beautiful trails for walking your dog off leash!

Paul Lascelles

My pups love this place

Super Dave

Good walking trails. Bit of a doggy doo minefield, trails are clest

Kathryn Schmidt

Went on a weekday afternoon after not having been in years. Lots of room in the parking lot, portapoties available, some interesting art installations. The trail had been described as "stroller friendly," it was definitely a rough ride for the babies in both strollers we brought with us, might be a better place for baby wearing while you walk!

Rooster

It's hard to rate just "Terwillegar Park" when all of the River Valley is connected and this is just a part of the whole in my mind. If you have a dog, look no further.

Brandon McDonald

Friendly people with beautiful sunsets

ACECheer Mom

This is by far my favorite off leash park. Beautiful trails and lots of interesting and exciting things for my boys

Fan-hsin Kung

Nice to walk dog. Also connected to two footbridge.

Laura Marcato

Excelent place to walk your dog off leash.

richard hackett

Great scenery and trails for walking and biking

Jason Lauder

Great place to take your dog if they want to sniff some butts. Can be quite busy at prime times.

murray tairney

Another great place to take dogs for a walk or run.

William Hipp

Nice views, lots of dog do do tho. Comes with the territory though.

Trucchi

I like the big open field and paths to walk with my dog but this dog park has the most dog poop out of any of the other dog parks in the city. You literally feel like each step has a high chance of stepping on dog poop. And while I understand that it’s the owner’s responsibility to pick up after their dog, it wouldn’t hurt for the city to maintain the park either.

Rahul Yadav

Well known park with dog off leash area. Paved and unpaved biking trails. In summer time you will an ice cream truck to quench your sugar thirst

Maureen C

This is a wonderful place to get out of the hustle and bustle of the city, within the city. The only reason I'm not giving it more stars is because of the parking lot. There are numerous pot holes and no real safe place to drive. I'm hesitant to return for this reason. If you don't have a 4x4 I'd be very careful driving in this parking lot.

A M

So many bad dog owners

Wes Bechtloff

Nice walk from the Ft Edmonton bridge to the Terwillegar bridge

Lisa Lamoureux

Love this park. From the trails to the wide open spaces where your dogs can get the exercise and explore their surroundings without fear of traffic or is a great place to get back to nature without having to leave the city.

Adriana Diaz

The trails are absolutetly amazing to ride. There are a few for a true mountain biker who seeks adventure. There are areas in which you can walk your sogs without a leash. Just be careful if you're riding your bike as they may cross your way.

Yuan Zhou

Beautiful views and best kids and families friendly trails in Edmonton!

Roy Sloan

Must see excellent trails 2 pedestrian bridges over north Saskatchewan river nature in the city.best exercise ever

Katherine Baronasky

I love that there is a lot of trails that people can pic to do if you hAve dogs, they love the open area to run in. Dogs can go swimming too here. I love the back trails here.

Ashley Vyas

I love the off-leash park. My pup really enjoys the trails as well as going for swims. I enjoy the food trucks that are there most of the time. Some days I wish it was a little easier for find a parking spot (just because of the popularity of the park!)

Cheyla Bossert

This a great off leash park. It's so big and the trails around it are great. My dog loved coming here. Do be aware that there is still wildlife in the area. Last time I was there we saw a very large coyote.

Prabh Sanghera

great place, all the happy dogs running around coexisting, model citizens i tell ya

dan apparition

Beautiful place to go for a walk with or without your dog. Great variety of trails plus great access to the river. I never tire of this place.

L R

Tons of room for the dogs to play! The Tangents treats truck and Davinci Cone trucks are also amazing there.

Kira Kovi

Such a beautiful and fun off leash dog park. I love walking through this area at any time of the year!

georgio thomson

This park had some fun trails for biking. Best place to chill and watch some dogs having the time of their lives

Austin Conway

One of the best walks in the city

Austin Jensen

We take our Bernese mountain dog there for her walks and she absolutely loves it. It's always kept clean and the people who go have done a great job to clean up after their pets.

S H

It's lovely place for my dogs to go for a long walk and meet up with my friends for the doggies play dates.

Matt Brown

Beautiful park, great views and paths, and lots of open areas

hafiz tariq

Awesome place for spending time outside whether it is a morning walk or climbing 200 stairs!

Anthony Varallay

Great place not only for dogs but for a nice walk in the river valley. Connects to trail network. Easily get to west end and then to Fort Edmonton and so on.

Cindy Toma

It was a great place for long walks. Open paths river views. Decor is very strange and ugly must be where the city dumped its ugly ornaments. Not much prettiness compared to Rundle and Hermitage parks. Not much access to river either. But interesting and OK if you like boring wide paths and open fields off leash.

The Logic

Very Nice. There's a very obvious opening where you can sit by the river... but for a first timer like me, finding the footbridge ended up being more of a hassle then it should have been because the direction the sign is pointing in can easily throw a first timer off. If you're not sure ask around till you get a definite answer. The footbridge is stunning too, and if it's summer make sure to have bug spray.

Gilmore Craig

Best place in the city.

Donna Prudek

It is a great place to take your dog.

Tim Gregory

Fantastic off leash dog park within , for the most part, a meander in the North Saskatchewan river. Newly added sculpture. Soon to be added restroom facilities. Various wildlife. Great trails, justifiably popular.

Yanjiang Luo

It's gaugous walk along the river bend in this fall afternoon.

Catherine Tays

Lots of trails to walk, in the trees and along open fields. A small beach and some ponds for water-loving dogs. Off-leash, generally well behaved dogs and friendly interactions - good for positive dog socialization! Outhouses available at entrance. Also occasionally has food trucks in the parking lot (treats for dogs and owners).

GHV Immigration Services

Enjoyed the walk with Kids! The Bridge is amazing!!

Femi Oladele

Lovely place to take a stroll with family members or friends. I love that park!

Lorri Brewer

Wow I've been to many dog parks and this one is by far the BEST so far! Its huge, people are so friendly, and all dogs are so happy. This is definitely Doggie Disneyland lol If you want a wonderful adventure and best experience...you gotta …

Karen Red Crow

Excellent trails !! Lots of room to move around ,, I will be bck

Maggie Stevenson

ALWAYS a pleasure taking my doggy-grandson here. Lots of space to dilly-daddle, explore and RUN!

Jeff Green

The trails are really good for biking throughout the year. Snowshoeing there is pretty good, and I have seen people cross country skiing too. The scenery is awesome especially for being right in the city. Make sure you like dogs because there are lots, but who doesn't?

Darrell Ketler

This is by far the Best Park around Edmonton

Logan Wilson

Excellent area to take your dogs for walks. Just make sure to bring an extra change of clothes if they go swimming in the river because you'll have to dive in and save them if they arent strong enough.

Jocelyn

The offleash park itself is great, but my one complaint would be from other dog owners who go through the effort of picking up after their dog, and then discarding the plastic bag alongside the trails. You're better off not picking it up at all, as their waste will deteriorate much faster than a plastic bag.

Mr. B

It's my first time to go to this place and I really love it. My plan was just to get good pictures for autumn then I didn't realized that this is also a good place to jog and walk while enjoying the beautiful ambience. Also, you can walk your dog here.

Kyle Dufresh

beautiful scenery for a walk, it doubles as a dog park, so just be careful because some of those dogs there are really excitable and will bark and jump at u. other than that great place to go for a hike.

Peter Bowman

Parking lot was pretty full. Too many people

Tasso Dimakis

Great place for your dog to run and mingle with pup friends.

Colleen Ronaghan

Terwillegar puppy park is an awesome place to take people and pets of any age/ability and/or agility. Flat easy level trails for those who care to meander with their family and pet, or some tougher trails with steep inclines and terrain for those who dare. Just make sure you're kids don't want to be carried up the hills ????

bel Mor

traffic can get a bit high during peak times. The park is quite spacious

Hemangi Kolekar

One of the most peaceful place to hangout. U can do cycling ????‍♀️ and enjoy the cool breeze in the afternoon sitting on the bench by riverside, lots of boating activities I saw here .. overall a nice place

Elizabeth Tan

We usually park at the carpark with a huge unleashed dog park in front and take a walk along the river. It's lovely, just have to watch out for the occasional dog poo. The trails are easy to walk with the occasional up and down hill. Little kids on bicycles might need some help.

J Frölich

One of the better pathways

Kelsey Johnson

We love the walking trails and access to the river.

Justin kroeker

Love this dog park, it is amazing. I would have gave it 5 stars but for some reason on weekends they never have any poop bags there. Before heading there always make sure you have extra bags just in case.

Alex Bath

Great trail system for biking or running. There are some really nice vistas to catch the sunset. The new bridge also links it to the Fort Edmonton Park trails.

Abeeku Kilson

Fun place to go to. Many trails to explore.

Singh Singh

Nice trails

Masoud Saeedinia

Great. There is a hidden nice beach for swimming

Sean Goulden

Have you seen the movie All Dogs go to Heaven? This is where they go.

sam g

Such a beautiful wide open space that lets you forget Ur in the middle of the city. The people and the dogs are very friendly and they even had a dog treat van that served human coffee so we got to extra spoil our boy.

Heather E. Miller

I love taking my dog here for walks! There are lots of different trails that you can walk or bike on, and now that there is the new bridge, you can cross the river and enjoy the park and trails on the other side. It's so nice to be able to enjoy such beautiful scenery while still in the city. Edmonton got it right when they designed their urban park system.

Jared Strome

Best dog park in the city my favourite place to go mountain biking as a kid and still is

Jason Tkachuk

Such a beautiful park. Amazing trails through the trees and atop the cl8ffs. Great vistas.

Kelsey A

My favourite off leash dog park in Edmonton! It has loads of paths you can take that are off the beaten trail. It’s always so beautiful here. I’ve been going for a few years now and I’ve never had any issues.

Matt Simpson

Great place to head for a walk or bike. Lots of trails. But it does get very busy at peak hours.

KastleDx

A big old field full of wild flowers, turned muddy and dog walker saturated. The parking lot is dirt or mud depending on the weather. Come early, the parking lot is far too small for the popularity of this large field in the river valley. A …

Wilma Haas

Horribly rutted road. Overgrown quack grass around the public art and (of course) loaded with dogs ... many of which were poorly trained and jumped up on any and everyone. On a positive note:. The portal potties were clean and well supplied.

Garrett Corkery

Super fun and open, love all the dogs running about!

Leo John

Vast Walk areas

Paul Niles

Great place to take your dog, as long as it's not too busy.

Nancy Ralph

Great trails ..a little lucky but should dry up soon.

AMANDEEP SINGH CHANDEL

Love the views

Aaron Screwface

Nice park, although the "Die Bart, Die!" written everywhere in the sand was a bit strange.

Steve Bogaert

Awesome place to go for a walk. Beautiful scenery and lots of friendly dogs enjoying themselves.

Jordan Paul

This is a great park. I grew up in this neighbourhood as a kid. It used to be call That Rhatigan Park for a long time. This was in the late eighties and early minutes, but the actual park land had remained the same ever since it was developed. Has a nice park dill a full playground, a tobbagan hill which isn't huge but still a lot of fun to bring the kids or kid at heart. There 4 soccer fields if I Remember correctly. The actual park itself is pretty big, much larger than most around the area I would say. Anyways, a great place to go and go for a walk, walk the dog, or bring the kids. A great part fore sure.

Rebecca Szoladi

Love this park! My only problem was it was very slippery; my friend fell. :( So be prepared with good hiking shoes this time of year!

Shaye Smith

Lots of trails to choose from. I always have a great time here.

Wivina Papilla

Nice area especially the walking trail.

Sandy Koroll

A beautiful park. Looking forward to seeing improvements to parking. The off leash area is big enough, not sure when grass was cut last, it has been pretty tough to keep up with all the rain we have received. Would like to see a few more garbage cans throughout the park. Will visit again soon.

Pam Todd

Open air walk with or without a dog. Free parking. Accessible.

RHONDA calahoo

We Are Here Daily, It is a Blessing To Have, We Love It Here ????

Kasia Kuperus

Best dog park in Edmonton! Tons of trails and dogs, and a few access points to the river if your dog likes to swim.

Aaron Camero

Great biking trails. Lots of hidden shore areas.

Amanda Wyllie

Love riding my bike over the bridge it's beautiful

Brad Lohner

Great walking trails around the offleash dog park. Many great breeds to watch. Total distance is about 7 km around perimeter

Jake Allen

Lots of great trails. Even access to the new walking bridge they built.

Mike Williams

This is one of the (possibly THE) best off-leash parks in Edmonton. The challenge in the summer, however, comes from the fact that it is also a popular park for people who like to cycle the trails. Most cyclists interact well with others (a big thank you to cyclists who use their bells, and kudos to the ones who strap bear bells to their handlebars), but the occasional cyclist with too much attitude means that you have to be ready to take evasive action to protect your dog. Parking is better now that the city has expanded the parking lot, but it still gets very busy by late morning on the weekend. The park is also popular for dogs and their humans in the winter: so much so that it is no longer a viable park for cross-country skiing like it used to be.

Jake Doerksen

Best dog park in the city hands down.
