Was great but watch for coyotes

A gem IN EDMONTONS RIBBON of GREEN PARK (originally called the Capital City Recreation Park). Surprisingly unique black forest feel. ABSOLUTELY BEAUTIFUL in Ravine park and also leads to stunning views from river trail. I am anxious to check this out in the winter!!

Beautiful Creek. Lots of birds, very tall trees, some squirrels, and occasional slinking coyote* it was named Fitness Trail for a brief period. It has also been groomed for cross country skiing in winter, when it is normal to see *one person (with dog) every 5 minutes on weekends even in -27c

Rob Dontmatter

Great trails and lots to see very clean and well kept

Jose Alvarez

Beautiful views!

Mohamed Nour (Mo)

Amazing views and nice benches are setup

This is an ideal spot to start your river valley journey. The farther east you head the trails become a little trickier until you reach rundle or head over to gold bar. Wrap around instead toward the west and you’ll be delighted by the business the summer trials have to offer gathering inspiration from each person you pass. This park specifically is also great if you’re looking to relax in a lesser known Edmonton park. Extremely accessible and inviting.

Trails r nice, this time of evening as the suns going down, theres hardly anyone down there, so u can fly. The trail thats closer to the North Sask. river that is.

James Gully007

Nice park with beautiful views. Kind of hidden away and was a nice surprise to discover it from the river valley below.

Dave Artindale

Just a real nice green space with a pretty amazing view ! Doggo friendly ( on a leash)

This is one of my favorite hidden gems in Edmonton. It's a short multi use gravel trail that leads to an off leash area and the Tire Swing! There is community artwork at the top of the trail that is truly amazing to see!

Van Omar

Really cool place to visit for the first time! I will definitely go again

One of my favorite points of the city. Sitting at the East end of Jasper ave, past 82 st, is a serene little park with an excellent view of the city. Despite looking beautiful from afar, up close much of the river valley park system is unfortunately filled with a large amount of litter and often populated by less than savory characters. This park, however, is free of litter, and vagrants don't typically come by here since there's not a lot of convenience stores in this well-to-do part of the small residential neighborhood of Cromdale. It's also far away from the traffic on Jasper main or any other major road, so it's very quiet, perfect for a picnic or meditation. I'll have to come here next year to watch the Canada day fireworks.

Great for coffee or a picnic overlooking the river and for dogs to run around off leash. Quite small and sadly some homeless people camping in the forested area.

Nathan Smith

This is also referred to as Rat Creek park. It’s a very nice get away in the middle of Edmonton. Walking in the park it feels like you are somewhere else. The trees surround you the paths are easy to navigate. This park is also very nice in the winter months.

Grassjelly 27

Nice area of river valley. Many old growth big trees in Ravine. Good paths for walking/jogging. Just way way way to many homeless people living in there.

Dean Thistle

I was passing through on a bicycle ride. Very pretty along the river. Path could use repair.

Kirk Dewhurst

Open park area. It’s mostly just a grassy place. No washroom facilities or picnic benches. If you come and want to stay a while bring a blanket. No dogs allowed. It’s nice but there are other parks with more amenities. Great views of the river valley.

Kristie Wiwad

Best view in the city. Definitely one of my favorite places.

Jayce Lad

Beautiful view of the river, great to take your dog for a walk, or go for a bike ride.

Cass Howlader

Absolutely beautiful walk in the city- the river looks great and there's lots of tree-covered pathways to walk!

Connor Haakenson

It's a very nice park.

Ryan Harrington

Quiet ravine close to downtown. Excellent treasure hunting opportunities

Cass

I love this little hike

Jaden Fontain

Great place for a good conversation. One of the best little out of the way spots in the city! Benches overlook an amazing view, especially after dark.

Rob Klaver

Beautiful park, paved or forest trails, BBQ facilities...all that

Heidi Lochhead

Absolutely beautiful place to have a picnic. Would go again. Only thing is limited street parking.

GEORGE COSTANZA

Great place to walk ???? Start your journey from Sheriff Robinson's park like I did and you'll be on a 1.5km trail covered with trees and interesting community art installations.

Martin Kaguima

I got to enjoy a serene evening walk with a beautiful sunset.

Mary Thomas

Pria D'souza

I think this is one of my favorite places to visit . The view of the river and the downtown skyline is sublime ????

roxanne olson

Nice wide paths to walk with family and friends, not as narrow as some we've been too. Overall I really enjoyed it. Got some fantastic pictures at some of the lookouts.

Rayanne Rieu

So beautiful and worth the trip if you don't mind some stairs and walking.

TLS Sutherland

Beautiful walking trails and so many options to choose from.

Jessica McNichol

Absolutely stunning! The river valley view and Edmonton skyline is breath taking!

Robert Howarth

Well I can be a scary place, just visit during daylight hours because theirs homeless people sleeping in the bushes and lots of drug use around.

Darrell Fast

We have an early fall this year with the temperatures plummeting well below zero over and over. All the leaves are changing and quickly dropping off the trees. Makes for a colorful River Valley. The most colorful time of the year in the River City. So many great Vantage points to view the river valley in the city but this is without a doubt one of my very favorite!

Wilma Haas

Fun place to walk and explore. A bit more signage on the north trails leading to Virginia Park would be helpful.

Pam Duigou

An amazing hike in the middle of the city! The artwork made it extra special. They should have local artwork on more hiking paths in the city!

gillian swanson

Beautiful view of the city. Never crowded.
