Beautiful park ! Nice and clean, lots of space for jogging, having picnic or other activities.
I recommend William Hawrelak Park is a 68 hectare park Edmonton, Alberta - Canada A family day picnic well spent . Every year a reunion of 36 members of my family we meet at the Park . Kids love it . Photography is as much about the process of seeing as the print you produce. The love of photography is the love of life. This iconic park named after a past mayor of our city , here you can enjoy all 4 seasons ,my favorite is fall , biking , hiking trails are spectacular, grounds well maintained spectacular views of the river and downtown, home to so many special events, just wish the city would invest in bird proof garbage cans !! Fantastic family park !!
Perfect for picnics and dog walking.
Very nice plenty of space
I loved the sculptures made in the park, there’s always something new in here, every season has its own colour. Ice skating for kids and adults, jogging and biking and walking can do many things in winters Spring is here and park is so very busy on weekends, all benches and all the bbq were occupied, Parking lots we’re almost full.
Since I recently started going for walks I've been choosing distances around 3 kms or so but decided to try this 4.7 km trail at Hawrelark Park and the first 1/2 hr I wasn't sure if I was gonna make it but with determination n a cool head I pushed on thru. Realized the average time ppl do it in is around 1 hr 9 mins and it took me 50 mins 12 secs, not bad for a newbie I'd say lol
Beautiful park!! Everything is in order, clean, and with A LOT of space to walk and hang around.
One of the best parks in the city. I have been coming here on and off since I first moved to the city years ago. The Heritage festival is held here in August and has a lot to see and do as well as the Triathlon and other events make …
Really enjoyed our picnic here, wasn't overly busy but it was a Wednesday in the evening. It was nice and clean, the washrooms were clean but the only downside is two of the washroom buildings were closed, hopefully that doesn't last as …
I love hawrelak park. Beauty in the middle of the city. Paddle boots available to rent. Picnic sites can be reserved although some sites have trash after weekend parties. Generally very clean though. Fountain in the middle of man made lake is cool. Lot of shade from trees for any hot day.
One of my favorite places in town, had my first kiss with my wife there and got married there. Lots of cool events going on there throughout the year
I love bird watching so I went to Hawrelak Park. There are bird feeders in the park that provides the opportunity to observe various bird species. I saw: …
What a hidden gem in thr middle of the city. Escape to this wonderful place. Lots of trails. Walk, jog, run. Bike, mountain bike are some if the many available activities. Enjoy the wild life. Geese, ducks, oils, magpies and many others. Have a firepit BBQ with family or bring a snack and enjoy this jewel
Always quite and so peaceful!!???? Love this park for many reasons! Plus is almost downtown! Great work City of Edmonton-is always sooo clean! Beautiful Water pound!!! Thank you!????
An awesome place to get up close with our geese. They will come eat from your hand. Please don't feed them bread, is bad for their guts. Really nice walking paths, lots of parking, and spaces for everyone!
Beautiful park with a big lake to skate on. There's usually something going on here. Bring your own food and drinks and have a whale of a time.
One of the most accessible parks in Edmonton. Great spot for a picnic or barbecue (lots of tables, fire pits, some with metal grills). The open air Amphitheatre at the centre of the park offers beautiful experiences; watch the Edmonton Symphony Orchestra, Shakespeare in the Park, and many other fantastic productions. This park also hosts Edmonton festivals like the Heritage Festival. Great location for birdwatching, many different types of waterfowl. Trails lead out from the park to the east and west, and you can cross the river on the foot bridge towards Laurier Park Off Leash area and the Edmonton Valley Zoo. Hawralak Park is popular with runners, walkers, cyclists, rollerbladers, as well as families, performers (improv, poi, balance rope and more), and birdwatchers.
Love this place. One of the best place for kids sliding, skating etc.
Its huge mate .. We've been walking and biking .. Everywhere is soo good and refreshing. We went to the bridge ...down the river, playing with goose and more yummy foods. Even in pandemic we always make sure that social distancing is practiced. The kids love it too
I love Hawrelak Park. It is great just to drive around the whole park or to walk around and explore. The picnic sites are shaded and spacious. The washrooms are convient aswell.
Very pretty park with great walks.
Very nice place , perfect to enjoy with the family
This park offers some beautiful trails with very close proximity to our beautiful river valley. It’s also where many great festivals take place, as well as the Edmonton ice castles!
It's a very big , beautiful and well maintained park . Its size and location makes it the best place to have the Heritage Festival. There are many birds like ducks, geese, gulls etc with their young ones enjoying nature. There is a boat …
Our first time heritage festival. It was on our summer vacation. Wow! Lot of educational. It’s worth to learn world cultures. Inspiration ❤️
Large park with several amenities. Great for families.
The trail going to Emily Murphy park is very well maintained. I like the fact there are actually 2 trails…one is shared (specifically for bikers) and the other for runners/walkers and dogs...it’s an easy trail and is approximately 4 kms round trip from the main parking lot
One of the Beautiful park in Edmonton. It's big with enough space for bbq and party as well . Ice skating in winter on the frozen lake is another best part.
There were so many watercraft on the lake today! Next time I gotta bring out the motorboat.
Fairly clean for minimal city workers. Ski trail is groomed some what. Lots of parking. It's nice not having the ice castles this year to keep the busyness of it to a minimum
Great recreational area right in the heart of the city. Wish you could swim in the lake in the summer but skating on the lake makes up for it in the winter. It hosts varies events during the year. It's a prime piece of land. If the city would add a beach area, it would make the property more desirable. it's still a great place to get away and have a bbq with friends without having to leave the city to get that camping vibe.
So many animals in this park! Very beautiful!!!
This park is huge and awesome. It allows to have great walks in the middle of nice trails, pic-nics and barbecues, sledding and cross-coubtry skiing. Beautiful!
Attended the Socality event this month at Ice Castle in Edmonton. This is the first convergence of different visual artists and individuals who loves photography. This event in partnership with Canon Canada. Check some of the photos taken at the event and experience the magic of the Ice Castle.
My all time favorite park. Very neat, clean and huge park.. Must visit
It is amazing being at Hawrelak Park, especially with its Fall golden view.
Big park. Alot water fowl. Expansive. Central river valley. Empty mostly all day everyday unless there is a festival. 2 golf courses keep the park system fragmented and from developing into much of anything.
Heritage Days was on this weekend, at Hawrelak Park. Awesome festival! Possibly the best sized park for this festival. Every kind of food, cultural dance & art/clothing you could imagine. Go EARLY to beat the lineups & the heat. We managed to reach several pavilions. Where we tasted several kinds of delicious food. We also found the Red Table, inside parks pavilion beside the lake. Good menu. Saw some of the historical plaques.
Lots of geese , a few sea gulls and some different types of ducks.A very scenic and beautiful place.Lots of greenery . A good amount of bench and a few big rocks to take amazing photos on. If you go in the right season you will see a-lot of baby ducks and geese. Lots of biking and skating space. Lots of beautiful trails sometimes they get crowded. We think its one of the best parks in Edmonton.
A marvellous place to spend a wintry afternoon, including a surprisingly diverse menu with great food and drink. An outdoor fire where one may enjoy a hot cider (with or without Grand Marnier) or hot chocolate, and of course the large outdoor skating area adjacent to the restaurant.
We enjoyed an evening of singing here on a cool evening under the heat lamps. Unfortunately fireplace was OOO that evening. Also the pathways were not cleared so it made navigating the icy walkway a bit treacherous
Hawrelak Park is an oasis. If you have a couple of hours to kill, kill them here.
Interstellar Rodeo 2019 had a great lineup, great food & one one day of rain. Aloe Blacc on Friday night was real treat! But Sunday was a gem... Lucius, Asleep at the Wheel, Whitehorse & Nathaniel Rateliff for a closer!! A fantastic weekend!!
Awesome as always. Feeding the chickadees is a must.
A nice place to go for a walk. Trail was closed due to construction.
I was pleasantly pleased as to how the park flooded a huge oval area on grassy areas by shelter #2. After finding out the pond was closed on new year's Day due to warm weather and thin ice, my family and I were dreading going to a packed Victoria park or not skating at all. After finding the available outdoor rink at hawerlak we had a blast. The only downfall was the skate rentals was closed and some of us didn't have our own skates. We ended up making it work by sharing with one another.
Great place! Picnic areas, trails for walks, bikes. And good views ????
Large park with lots of amenities and a great place to launch a hot air balloon.
Loved my experience here! Getting one of the spots where you can build a fire was such a winning experience. And being able to just head for a walk right afterwards was super! Great place to bring friends or family for some outdoor time in the city!
