So emotional ????

Nice quaint replica of Maud's house. They had quilts and a few crafts for sale on the honor system as there was no one maning the area.

Claudette Dockrell

I am so proud of the work my Father had put into this beautiful replica. A great spot for anyone young and old to visit.

Krista Whitehouse

This was the gem discovery of the whole area. Wow! Stunning. A real life, actual size replica of Maud Lewis's house on the private property of the owner. Originally built for his wife, he has opened it to the public and only asks a donation. He has souvenirs to sell inside the house, and all items are on the honour system, if he isn't around, there is a locked box on the door where you can deposit the money. The artistry is truly amazing, and includes the shed, mail box and surrounding yard. Way better than the replica on the actual grounds of Maud Lewis's original house which is now a park. If you are at all interested in Maud Lewis, you will be so happy to visit this place.

Easy to find just outside Digby and a real treat. It’s a quick stop and very interesting so highly recommend checking it out.

Nothing fancy, but Maud would have liked that! Honest recreation of Ev and Maud's house. Free with donations gratefully accepted. Not far from original homesite and minutes from Digby. Great photo ops.

What a wonderful find We came across the replica of one of Canada's most beloved folk artist, Maud Lewis. Despite suffering from juvenile arthritis, her paintings are filled with color and joy. There was a movie made about her life, titled "Maudie" it starred Sally Hawkins and Ethan Hawke made in 2016. If you have not seen the movie, I highly recommend it. Very moving. She used oil paint that was left over from houses and boats, that her husband would gather for her. She also was well known for her post cards which she would sell for 20 cents. Now if one of her paintings comes on the market, could fetch 50k

I LOVE IT! The person who built this house really did a good job!! Lots of details and really feel like Maud Lewis lives there! It’s one of the best places to visit in Digby. I’ve been to the one in the museum in Halifax, but feel like this replica house shows more about her life, and even I love this one better! (I mean the house in museum in some way doesn’t fit well, but I definitely love to see that the government (?) wanna keep it intact and protect all stuff in the house) Also there’s a tiny store next to the house if you wanna buy the small cute wooden replica house or the paintings. Cash only tho! (Need to leave the money in the donation box) Definitely recommend this place if you visit Digby!

Such a cute replica to see how Maud Lewis lived since the real house is at the AGNS. The owner gave personal memories of Maud and how he built the house.

Barbara Patterson-Smith

Beautiful replica of their house. Bought a print and took lots of pictures. We had the chance to meet Murray, the owner. He personal knew Maud and Everett and is filled with stories of their lives and will gladly share them and field any questions. Great spot to stop on the way to digby.

Hidden gem and replica of the Maud Lewis house. Definitely worth a little visit. Bring cash, there is a box for donations for entry and some gifts/ art prints. The best are the very sweet birdhouses that are mini Maud Lewis houses for $50. Again, best to have some cash. Love the honour system. My kids 9/12 loved it!

The replica house is cool. Interesting to see how Maud Lewis lived. A few interesting facts and drawings of hers. There's also a replica workshop of Everett's. Nice to see. Only need about 10-20 minutes

Charming place to see. Does a great job of highlighting some of this artist's paintings. Beautiful in it's simplicity. A worthwhile stop.
