REVIEWS OF North 40 Park Reserve IN Delta

A great mixture of easy walking, bird sighting, and small morsels of history. Be comfortable with dogs as this is an offleash area.

Ever wanted to have a nice walk with a history lesson? North 40 is for you! There are signs around the place which tell of the military history of the former base, and you can see the foundations of former buildings all around. Fruit trees are also in the area! See if you can find the swimming pool and the old tennis courts. Oh, and of course you can walk your dog here off leash! AND if you’re a fan of shows like Supernatural, a TON of filming goes on here. Lots of fun!

If you are interested in seeing eagles, this is the best place to go so near to the city... Fantastic

Great history and lots of trails

Billy John Croissant

Very cool place. I rode my bike ~2.5hrs here and it was every bit worthwhile. Not overpopulated, and with many, many different trails spanning the entire area which ranges from fields to concrete roads leading through forest.

Stephanie Hegre

This park is awesome! I loved it. So neat ,especially for history peeps. Gives you that old feel. This place was an old military base for families. Now you can let the hounds loose for an awesome walk with your kids and take in the nature , I loved it!

Beautiful off leash dog park. We have 3 big dogs that love coming here. people I've met here are friendly , dogs are friendly.. amazing park . Lots of Eagles everywhere .. would highly recommend this park to everyone even if you don't have dogs.

A good long trail for dog off leash. Walk with history. But beware of coyotes. It would be nice if they could provide more garbage bins along the trail.

North 40 Park Reserve. I think I saw it once online and it looked like a large dog-walking park. Then I took a closer look recently when choosing a place to visit on the weekend. It’s big! Upon entering there is a long street to park vehicles. There are a few maps that show the origin, history, and layout. It’s very cool to see the old map and then walk the streets of this once residential area. There are many people who come here to walk dogs. If you like dogs, eagles, planes, and/or history, you’ll like this park. Eagles are everywhere in the trees and circling above. Planes are constantly landing and taking off from Boundary Bay Airport across the way. History is everywhere in the posted signs, the streets you walk on, and the remnants of homes. Concrete pads, small ditches, decorative ditch walls, and stepping bridges, are all overgrown with grass. In some areas of the streets, mother nature breaks through to reclaim the land. There is also one structure still standing that was the base for the boilers to provide heat. Keep an eye out for an older gentleman riding a bicycle. He stopped to chat with us. He is one of the former residents! He had some great stories and said he bikes through the park every day. He will be happy to share his memories with you. If you want to venture off the streets (and one sidewalk!) bring boots as the grassy areas can get very soft and muddy. Daniel

Massive off-leash dog park. Great for Fido to run around and get a good walk on over of the many trails or paved roads

Ms Bacon

Great place for a walk, best to go in the morning when it's cooler, as there isn't really a water source for dogs.

Natalie LePage

One of my favorite off leash dog park, lots of room to roam around for me and my furry friend. The paths are maintained year round and await a new adventure every visit.

Rahul Syal

Good off leash place where owner and puppy both can have peaceful time

Robyn Wright

It’s a beautiful dog park but there are so many coyotes roaming around and many dogs have gone missing. Please be careful and keep a close eye on ur dogs. There’s also been reports of people leaving poisonous meat around for dogs to eat and aggressive ticks. Please keep u and your dogs safe!

Excellent place for bird watching and friendly off leash doggo walks

Buck Nash

It's a pretty cool park. Used to be a military radio station base during the cold War and you can still see remnants of the buildings and roads that used to be there. Its a dog friendly park and there's always lots of dogs running around. Of course the main reason for going there is that there is literally hundreds of bald eagles there.

marco afonso

Great place to walk a dog. Open area with off leash. Did notice some hawks and eagles in the area and there was some posted signs for Coyotes, so be weary if u have a little dog.

Ceesandmarta van de Mond

I love coming here. Steeped in history, you can see the remnants of the Vancouver Wireless Station. The entire place is a dog off-leash park. Great place to take the family canine.

Lorinda Leeming

Great place for walking or cycling. Good history lesson for the grand children

Selina Yang

The park is off-leash and includes a designated area for commercial dog walking. It has many small trails but just flat. Makes it easy for the dogs to play. Ther are many bald eagles and some other birds too.

Yi Bao

Great place to see Bald Eagles ???? in winter time. Lots of people also walk their dogs here.

Emox Jordz

Kristi Schofield

This is a great Off Leash Dog Park but even if you're not a dog owner I'm sure you'd love to stroll through this historical landmark! BTW, all the dogs I met along the way we're exceptionally friendly well-trained and disciplined. It's Blackberry Season as I write this review, so you might want to bring a little bucket along and pick some! Delicious in fresh baked muffins. ????

Arthur Watt

Was nice place for a walk and eagle's everywhere

Matthew Sands

My favorite place to take my dog! Can he wet in the winter but very dry in the summer. Dogs here are always friendly. Lots of Eagles too!!

Greyeyes Smith

There are an incredible amount of eagles here at this time of year. This off leash dog park has many paved and groomed trails also some natural trails. This park also has a large pond. There are some old foundations rusted dilapidated fire hydrants just ghosts of a time. When this was an old a former Canadian Armed Forces WWII wireless station.

Jay Mapson

The eagles! Not much more to say but get the to see them. This image was taken just a short distance away but there were many many more in the trees at the park

Mike Harvey

The dogs love this place. The ditches are nasty in the wet season but I have labs so they think they are at the spa. Large wide open space with lots of friendly dogs.

An Amazing place for Wild Life

Sarah Z

Really interesting off leash park but be warned lots of mud and muddy water. Our water loving dog had fun but was filthy. A lot of eagles flying overhead or roosting in the trees!! We got lucky with parking but on a nice Sunday afternoon be prepared to wait.

Tina Doughty

Great place for walks and bird watching. Would prefer that they stick to the 2 dogs per person so everyone can enjoy the park.

Laraina Murphy

Best off leash dog park in Ladner B.C. I recommend bringing you're own water and doggy bags.

Hippo Hippo

Amazing place to let the pups run free!!

Don Mcallister

Excellent place to walk your dog, also their owners are friendly

Daphne Y

Dog's favourite place! Off leash, wide open, bird watching. It can be muddy. Wish it has proper dog waste disposal and more bins.

Chris Unwin

This is an awesome park. This is the largest off leash dog park that I know of. This is a great place for the dogs and for exploring. Some fantastic history here too. I hope that the corporation of delta keeps it as it is, and doesn't change it too much. I would love to see them make the existing paddling pool from the days of the base, active again, for the dogs! It would super easy. Just clean it out and fill it with fresh water. Hope that happens. I have been going here since I was a kid, before the place was given up by the DND and it was off limits. I Loved this place then and I love this place still. It is still intriguing and amazing to me. So glad it has become a dog park instead of being another housing development.

I Khan

Great for large breed dogs off leash area is fairly large.

Kai Li

Lovely place for dogs to run off leash but saw a coyote today (23 May 21) in the middle of the field

Saneeta Bops

Great for an off leash dog park. It's also excellent for photographers and bird watchers due to Eagle sightings. Last time we were here we saw 50+ eagles and a few owls. It's a great place to learn a bit about the history and is nice and open. Pretty cool to go check out. I highly reccomend it here. Its also never too busy because it's so wide open. There seems to be a lot of movies filmed here so definitely a neat set location.

Risha Denner

Absolutely stunning.

Annie Dawson

A wonderous place. Beautiful historic trees, owls (if you can find them), eagles in the fall ( if you can count that high)

God's Grace OG Beautiful Soul
