Province House National Historic Site is undergoing renovations right now. However, there are multiple beautiful parks with intriguing monuments around that still justify a visit. This spot is the brain, heart and soul of Charlottetown.

(Translated) Could be interesting, it is the birthplace of the confederation. But closed for major works. Besides, it didn't seem like a luxury. 'Historic but unfortunately closed for Canada 150. Won't reopen until 2019/20' (well, that's what I wrote back in 2017 and now an update...) surprise, it's not yet done as of 2019! It's now the butt of jokes from islanders as well as the performers at the adjacent confederation centre for the arts. Let's hope it's all done for Canada 175!

This would have been a nice place to visit and to take pictures at. However, it has been under renovations for at least 1.5 years and still not done. You can walk around the area as it's a nice neighbourhood.

Carla Sheedy

Closed for repairs and renovations while we were there. A virtual tour booth was available for tourist for free. Local actors in period costume perform historical reenactments in park outside of Province House to mitigate disappointment of tourists who wanted to see historical site.

Outside it looks like it has potential. This year was our second time in the last 4 years we went to Charlottetown to visit this National Historic Monument. We bought a National Parks Pass with the specific intent to visit this location. SO disappointed that it was closed, again. Maybe one day we will get to see it and I can update my rating more positively.

We went in summer 2018 and it was closed for renovations until 2020. They offer a reproduction of the main room in the building next door. The employee there was very friendly and knowledgable. A virtual tour kiosque was available outside for free. I would still have prefered to visite the real thing.
