Good hike for exercise with a absolute rewarding lookout. Famous for the largest TnT explosion post WW2

Great hike, a bit gnarly in areas but well worth the view! We are mid 60s and reasonable fit, we found it a moderate hike, and we’re easily passed by a class of 7th graders! Not for small children. Go early when it’s cool and less people. By noon it was busy.

This hike was magic!!! It starts of a little boring and unsightly with some power lines running down the side of the trail but it only gets better from there. As you cross the first bridge which is over a beautiful little stream and ventures into the rainforest which is like something from avatar. The trail is definitely moderate and has some nice lookout points along the way. Once you reach the peak the view of the ripple rock site is awesome. The currents and tides in the water are soo powerful and it's amazing watching the boats go through the channel. I'd suggest going to the campbell river museum to watch the ripple rock documentary prior to the hike as it just makes it that much better when you reach the peak and know what your looking at and the history of the site.

Mike Roze

A lovely hike with nice views and a well maintained trail.

Anthony Cruz

The hike was easy and only moderate for a small stretch towards the end. Amazing view at the top with a few lookouts along the way. If you take your time it will take about 3 hours round trip but it can be done in 2 with less stops! Highly recommend for a day hike

Tim Lodsgaard Sandau

Great hike. Really worth the view at the lookout.

This trail is rated moderate easy by BC Parks. There and back its 8 km hike with an elevation of 1184 feet. It has some nice new Aluminum bridges and stairs to help navigate inclines. The trail keeps descending because of the beach accesses, so the trail elevation keeps going up and down. It's not recommended for parents with infants or toddlers no matter how desperate you are. Be prepared to carry your young children. The scenery however is great. The final ripple rock is a little inspiring but a great view for seeing Cruise ships.

Excellent views! The payoff of this hike is very much worth it. Took us less than 2 hours each way at a fairly relaxed pace. There are a couple places on the trail where you have to sort of climb (the is a rope to assist at one spot). Other than that, not very difficult. Though I think it's fair to say, the distance and incline could be quite exhausting for some individuals. Be sure to bring water and a snack.

Beautiful hike for the new adventurer and experienced hikers alike. It is a fairly short hike, with an amazing view at the end of it. I have done this hike a couple of times already and I will definitely do it again.

Great experience. Easy hike for most if in shape including kids.

Beautiful hike.

This took us 4 total out and back. Some rest stops. We are all capable and healthy people, it was way more challenging than we anticipated based on some of the reviews that talked about toddler’s and roundtrips taking three hours or less. We beg to differ. That said, it was a nice hike, it was just more than anticipated.

Janelle Blackman

Great hike! Not too easy, not too challenging, and the view was worth it!

Bengül Kurtar

Well maintained trail!

Bud Burrell

A relatively short, easy hike to this unique, historical lookout over Seymour narrows. The tide causes the water moving back and forth through the narrows to swirl and form eddies. The weather was perfect when I visited.

Mack

About 8.5-9km round trip. Easy to moderate hike for all ages with some elevation gain to get the heart rate going. Easy to find with ample parking. The juice is worth the squeeze...what a view!

Caileigh Alexander

Beautiful views found all along the trail, short drive just outside CR but beware of the potholes as you pull into the parking lot if you are in a small vehicle!

Great hike

This hike is rated easy to moderate. I would suggest that it slants more towards moderate with some steep and technical ups and downs with rocks and roots. I believe it to be longer than the suggested 8km round trip. Definitely worth the great views but be prepared.

A nice, easy 7.5 km. out and back hike. A small scramble section as you approach the summit. There is a rope here to aid you going up or down. Beautiful panoramic views at the top.

Well marked trail, Easy hike in and out. Different length trails with numerous view points

Great hike, even good for the kids. Our family has 4 children 2 are teens and 2 are 8 and 9 years old. My friends kid is 4 and she was able to do the hike no problem. Has lots of benches and look outs to stop at and take breaks. Bring water and snacks. And definitely try to make it to the top, the view is worth it, especially all the whirl pools

9 kms return. I am from the Prairies so I would rate challenging. Well marked trail. There are lots of amazing views along the way and the top view makes it worth the trek. We did with a 5, 6 and 8 year old so took 5 hours. Overall beautiful trail. We watched a u tube video on the history of ripple rock before the hike which was cool to know the history when at the top.

Helluva hike to get there but absolutely worth the views. The water rushing through the channel creates some incredible vortexes and it's fun taking bets on whether or not boat traffic will make it through.

Beautiful scenery and a great hike. Love the end result great place to have a picnic

Greg Sparrow

1 3/4 each way, a bit muddy especially when it is raining.

Romana Permanova

The old growth was the best part, and there was a beautiful beach cove. Very busy however, there is logging in the water below, and huge power lines up top. Just wasn't my favourite.

Evan Southern

Pretty long and the trail isn’t particularly scenic but the view at the end is alright. I wouldn’t say scenic though because it’s mostly power lines.

Katie Greentree

M Kohler

Very enjoyable 8km hike. We saw a pod of Orcas at Ripple Rock (Feb 17th)

Steve Matthews

This hike took 4.5 hours and is not for the faint of heart. I feel the rating is moderate extreme hiking. Bring lots water and snacks. The view is so worth the hike.
