Elk falls is a beautiful little hike. Can hike as little or as long as you want and well maintained trails. Do note that there are several steps down to the falls and they can be a bit steep for those with mobility issues. Worth it for sure!

Beautiful nature park with lovely walking trails. At the beginning of the walk it was very interesting to read about and see the giant water conduits used by BC Hydro as part of the the Hydro electricity project. Work on the renovation and improvement of the Hydro pipes is ongoing so the area may occasionally be closed. The metal suspension bridge and the various lookouts offer different vantage points of the falls which were certainly more dramatic and tall than I had been expecting. The forest loop is beautiful especially in the fall when the ground is covered in large leaves from the Big Leaf Maple trees. The sound of the rapids and falls carries far into the forest. However the signage is inadequate and unclear so that people can get confused as to where they are and how to get back to the parking lot. Still I highly recommend visiting this beautiful spot.

Some really cool trails and lookout points in the near vicinity. There is a raised portion of walkway that goes over the forest floor allowing you to see below you. It stands out to me as the best design for forest walking paths.

Nature at it's best! The falls are breathtaking and you can see it from the trail and on the suspension bridge. The trails are great too, if you take the river path, you are right by the water most of the time, the water seems to change colour the further down the path you go. The trees are quite massive in size and are a nice part of the walk too.

Elk Falls is only 10 minutes out of town and yet feels like it's in the middle of a lush rainforest environment. There's lots of RV parking and the trail is a very easy 10 minute hike to the bridge. Definitely worth stopping for a rest if you're headed up island.

Have too see. Wow. Great spot British Columbia is very pretty The waters are ice cold unless your from British Columbia then its nice . lol Gracier fead mean freezing cold. But this location is worth the walk the a treed forest. A great spot to take great photos Spend the day relaxing Or maybe swimming in some warm fifty degree water. Our sons liked it. Fantastic! The power of the water cascading over the Elk falls. The 1947 wooden pipes feeding the hydro plant.(soon to be demolished). Our walking trails were graded and steps well thought out for seniors. Great views from the suspension bridge! Just 15 minutes out of Campbell River, Vancouver Is. Well worth a visit. Thank to the local Rotary Club for its construction.

Bridge to Nowhere. I thought it would be a great hike that you got to cross a bridge along the way. You cross the bridge to a landing on the other side and it dead ends there. There is not even a good view from the other side or at least the view on the opposite side is less impressive than the original side or from the bridge itself. The bridge itself is pretty amazing. With open side and a meshed "floor" you can see all around you including straight down a few hundred feet to the canyon and river below. Its an awesome view. Continue the hike to see another waterfall and a quiet uncrowded path. It can get crowded so arrive early to avoid the tour buses.

Amazingly beautiful. Lots of stairs to get to the viewing platform and suspension bridge, steel grates so do NOT take dogs down it. The other side of the river is dog friendly. Bring a picnic lunch and enjoy the trails!!

It is a quick drop-in kinda place ( please, not literally); you can get there quickly check out the waterfall for it's intensity, have a look around, be impressed then go grab lunch in CR. Or you can hike around and bring your own lunch. Always good photo ops here.

About 300 metres from the parking lot, down the trail you'll reach the suspension bridge and it's very bouncy when walking across, but you get a great view of the falls off the sides and below your feet. You can walk a couple hundred metres more and find a better view from below the bridge, almost touching it.

Beautiful place to go for some quick nature and a big beautiful waterfall. If you ever catch wind that the dam just up the river has to let some water go I recommend checking out the falls as well, very powerful water.

Beautiful! The suspension bridge is fun and a good part of the trails are wheelchair accessible. There's also a lovely Loop along the river, just be ready for a steady climb at the end...Kudos to the Campbell River Rotary and all others involved! An excellent choice for a walk on a hot day, nice and cool in the trees and near the water. Don't miss the old growth trees, they're huge!

Not sure if we were supposed to swim, but there are amazing swimming holes here well above the main waterfall. Slippery rocks and cold water, but so refreshing and beautiful. The kids wanted to spend most of the day swimming and basking in the rocks.

10/10 would Elk Falls again. The suspension bridge provides an amazing view of the falls, and the trails through old growth forest introduced us to lurking giants, reminding us of just how small we really are. We spent a nice few hours above the falls, baking on the rocks and tentatively swimming in the refreshingly cool water. If we'd seen it earlier, Moose Falls and Dolphin Pool look to be ideal for an afternoon beach outing.
