Beautiful display in a lovely building, with fascinating details provided by the curator. Those gorgeous clothes on display for the 2019 exhibition Made in France were mesmerizing. Clothes really can be art that you wear! What a fun little museum in Hespeler. So glad we visited.

Great little museum. My young fashionista loves looking at clothes from different eras. Parking is easy and the price is very reasonable.

If you happen to be in Cambridge, Ontario, and you are up to a short cultural tour, then I suggest dropping in the Fashion History Museum. It is located in Hespeler Village, an authentic neighborhood with a tiny downtown along the Queen St. East. The museum had two little expositions at the time of our visit. The expositions are original, interesting, entertaining, and not overwhelming. It takes less than an hour to see all displays and that is an optimum in my opinion. The museum is in an old building, the interior is very well kept, staff is friendly and helpful.

A gem of a museum. Each piece was described in very readable English and explained its place and influence in history. Not a large venue so not much walking. My friend and I who live in this region were so surprised yo find this hidden jewel. Also the downtown it is located in has been delightfully renewed. I felt like I was in a foreign country-in a good way. There is an excellent non-chain cafe a few blocks away.

Lots of interesting fashion memorabilia on displays. Worth the one-hour drive visit from Toronto, expecially for those who are interested or study Fashion. Wish, this museum will get some money to expand.

Lovers of design, clothing, cloth and small museums will delight in the Fashion History Museum located just outside of Toronto in Hespeler, (Cambridge). The current exhibit deals with the 1980s in all its broad shouldered, fringed and embroidered glory. Close up looks at items from the great Rei Kawakubo are full of surprises. In the second gallery the photography exhibit of the club scenes in 1980s London and New York is a perfect complement to the main show. A smaller exhibit, Treasures of the Collection, is a trip around the world through time with a woven, paper fibre corset from Germany, a 1930s Japanese under kimono printed with war planes and impossibly tiny, 19th century dancing shoes. And, if you are there at lunch or tea time, the cafe Creme, just down the street, is a must with sandwiches, a comprehensive tea list and Dufflet pastries. Judith Fielder Toronto

Absolutely my favourite museum in Canada! Unbelieveable garments (including a Poirot!), unbelieveable staff, and just a wonderful place all around.

Lucina Hendricks

A really good visit. We also saw one of the Founders of the Museum fetching in supplies, a really nice person. The kids were energised and wanted to leave but I wished I had talk about his journey more.

It was worth the drive from Toronto. Carefully curated collections in a charming building with a delightful host. A great experience all around!

Such an interesting place to see the original clothing of a certain era. They change their exhibit after so many months, so it's very nice to visit more than once a year. Also they have very unique events as fundraisers. We went to the most interesting Victoria high tea, in celebration of Queen Victoria.
