This train ride is a wonderful experience for the whole family. I've been here twice and both times the number of adults surpassed the children. Tickets are $3.50 , children under 3 ride for free. The volunteers there are so happy and kind and nice. It makes for a great time.

Really can't be beat if you have a kid who likes trains. Best to go when not busy and just hit the trains over and over. $7 perride but well worth it. More than 1km of track in each ride!

For the price you pay, between 10-20 minutes it's an awesome time for your little ones. We would at least go twice when we are there. Note: Listen, when the train conductor says out loud, if there are any small groups of 2 people, 3 people or 4 people. WHY? You, may be able to jump the line. We did this twice! I was listening to the conductor, and he said anyone here with 2 people? When he said 4 people, I said, "me," and away we went. The bonus part, our ride got extended too. Super. But the most amazing thing about this is the engineers and the volunteers. They put in so many hours on their own time. So, next time you ride with them, just take a few seconds to say thanks!

So fun!!! Several different types of 1/8 scale trains. Includes a real coal-fired steam locomotive. They have done an amazing job building the track and trains. Great value at $3.50 per ride or 10 for $30.00. Great for kids and adults alike. Love it!

Awesome miniature railway for kids. Great place to spend a day with toddlers. Train ride is always different, they have miles of tracks, bridges and tunnels, quite the thing when you see it all. The concession does sell popcorn hotdogs and a few other treats. Many tents are rented out for birthdays, and they will allow you to bring in outside food for birthday parties (pizza seems to be a favorite). Please call and check availability for birthdays. Usually they open between Easter and Labour day, but they may have special event trains (halloween or christmas).

only problem was the old lady, The one on the entrance super awesome , but the one on the train as a conductor was so rude, in the middle of the ride she stop the train and came to me said , put down the phone i clearly said that you can’t video it. and so rude the tone. I didn’t said any single word put my phone away, but every single person on the train where holding the phone, literally I felt a recital profiled. I have the video that can show the persons in front of me holding the camera throughout the ride.

Great low cost family fun! A great hidden gem in the middle North Burnaby, run by volunteers who love the hobby (and often former career) of trains. Hop on for about a 10 minute ride behind a stream powered locomotive through this great little park.

Amazingly quaint. I love all the staff who are such avid train lovers all dressed as conductors, and even the less enthusiastic operator we saw yesterday. My older one was captivated by the miniature train model set inside. A place full of character - my boys had so much fun here!

Buy a pack of 10 tokens for the best deal. You can use them up later. Hot dogs ($2), drinks and other snacks are available on site.

For $4 per adult you get to ride along with your little one for 10 minutes on a steam train...(kids under 3yrs old is free!) and across the train you have the Confederation Park for picnic. One of the good place to spend your day with kids in summer!

I used to like this place a lot- great people who ran the place with lots of heart and one could tell the love that went in all the little details, decorations and the well kept grounds. Last time I went the place was littered with “Don’t...” signs and inside the station where some very grumpy people guarding their model railroad with all their might. The place is catering to families with small children- if you don’t like children then don’t set up your things there? Death stares, “Do not touch signs” every 5cms and the super kicker: $5 penalty if your child causes the train to derail. Ridiculous. And no, I neither expected my child being allowed to touch nor to derail the trains. But the way it was communicated combined with the displayed unfriendliness turned the fun into a rather negative experience.

The volunteers are doing an amazing job of keeping everyone socially distanced and safe. They seat people in separate groups in the cars to make sure there is adequate distance between passengers, sanitize the cars after passengers get off before the next set get on and have markers everywhere. They screen everyone for Covid risks and require masks. So mask up and have fun with the kiddos! Consider buying the 10 pack tokens to support them or just donate! Our kiddos always love it and this year was no exception!

A Burnaby hidden treasure! If you have children, you probably know about it. But I dare say, parents have as much fun as their children. For a mere pittance you can ride a variety of miniature train cars pulled by carefully created replica trains. Personally, I enjoy the steam engines which harken back to a more civilized time where people rode trains in style. But there are many different types (sorry, no Thomas). There is a surprisingly elaborate set of tracks, bridges and tunnels that meander through a small forest. Lots of fun things have been set up on the trees for the children to look at. Depending on how busy the railway is, your train ride could be quite lengthy or shorter if the line-ups are long. The trains are run by the a small group of volunteer train enthusiasts with the land being rented to them for a nominal amount by the city. They have a few picnic tables for eating, and a reserved area for children’s parties. Cheaper to buy the train tokens in the 10 pack (and if you have children, one ride will NOT be enough). Children under 3 are free. A small concession stand and washrooms are available. All in all, a very enjoyable way to spend a few dollars. I highly doubt you will be disappointed.

A wonderful experience for the young and young at heart. We went at 11AM and the line took us 20 minutes. We didn’t mind at all because there was plenty of train action to keep our daughter occupied. The line was just 2 families when we passed by at 12:30PM. The volunteers were so warm and friendly. The ride itself was interesting and relaxing, plenty of gnome and elf spotting. Great shade from the trees during the ride. The line-up is covered by roofing and large umbrellas so you don’t roast while you wait. Social distancing measures in place. Masks required for adults. Hands need to be sanitized before you enter. Trains are sprayed to sanitize between loads. Washrooms were very clean and well-stocked with soap and paper towels.

The only thing tha would have helped on the train would be to have handholds so people with balance problems could have a secure grip. This could be done at the front t of each car. A variety of Miniature trains. All made to scale and maintained by the volunteers. The ride is a nice one. When you buy 10 tokens you get 1 ride free. They have a nice HO or N scale layout, but it's closed at the moment due to covid. There is another layout where they allow kids to control the trains as well. A good outing cour not just kids but also train enthusiasts.

We love the mini trains and we go at least 6 times a year. All the staff are volunteers and they are all so wonderful. A real gem of a community. The train ride itself is so relaxing and the routes can get quite complex and interesting. We went today and it was opening day of 2020. Full physical social distancing is practiced with clear instructions and signs everywhere. Well thought out and well run. Thank you Burnaby Central Railway!!!

Strengths: Fun ride for the whole family. A decent length for the ride. Weakness: If it was faster on certain parts the ride could have been more exciting. Been to the railway a few times. Once for a birthday party, and another two times just to ride the train. Today was a great day so the family and a family friend decided to do a ride. There.was a lineup but it wasn't too long - possibly ten minutes. They conductor gave a quick safety intro which included some humour and off we went. The ride does two circles. The full ride was 10mins. It was a tad slow on certain parts, but the breeze and sun was very comfortable. There's also some good shading from the trees so that you don't burn.

This is an awesome place to visit and spend time with my grand-kids. The problem is parking. Since Burnaby put in the new "sidewalk" parking around the area "sucks". I am not as mobile as I used to be and having to park near the pool makes me think twice about coming here. If I didn't love my little ones as much as I do, I would be taking the Train Park off my list of things to do. Just saying. I am also writing a letter of complaint to the Burnaby Mayor's office.. but as I am not a citizen of Burnaby, it will probably fall on deaf ears. So, Burnaby residents - if you like visiting the Train park, drop a line to the Mayor's office and let him know the issue is not just me.

My kids love it. Nice little train ride located next to confederation park. Tokens don't expire so you can purchase 10 rides at a time for a bit of a discount. Good for kids parties. Limited parking but lots of street parking nearby.

What a fantastic experience. They have multiple trains, lots of tracks and the conductors switch up the route daily so always a unique ride. It is like riding on a model train versus Stanley Park which feels more like an amusement park. I really appreciate the steam locomotive! Highly recommended and big props to the volunteers that have built and maintain this unique experience. Rides are only $4.50 or a 10 pack for $40. Well worth a visit.

Awesome place for younger kids and train enthusiasts. The rides have a decent time span, bridges, tunnels, and little curiosities for kids to spot along the way, so it is very much worth the money. Only open on weekends and holidays, and closed for the winter, so make sure you check their hours before you go.

Kids love it. Fun ride for the whole family. $3.50 each ride. Kids under 3 are free. Our family frequently visit this place during summer. This place has a concession stand that sells hot dog, popcorns, ice cream.
