Heard a lot about these gardens, compared to Vancouver gardens, etc. Very overrated imo, nothing spectacular. You can rather go to toronto islands/niagara falls gardens for a similar experience. Nothing like the creative gardens in Montreal or Ottawa.

Еxcellent on a not super hot and sunny day. $18 entrance fee to visit the Laking garden, Hendrie park, arboretum and Rock garden and that includes parking. The area around the Arboretum is definitely more appropriate for hiking if you are up for it.

It was amazing day trip! Peonies and irises are in full bloom , we took a lot of pictures. The Laking gardens are beautiful. We also did went to the trail along the river- vivid nature, ad lot fan flowers.The are a lot of birds and we saw even a muskrat!

Laking Garden itself is small garden with lots of trees and flowers. It is not that big or beautiful but definitely its a good place for relax.

This Laking Garden is kind of hidden away and easily missed. I purchased a ticket at the Royal Botanical Garden, which gave me access to the Laking Garden, Rock Garden, Hendrick Garden and this Arboretum. All 4 gardens/parks are dogfriendly. My 2 little dogs and I explored all 4 in one day includes taking a lunch break in between. The Laking Garden is located between the Hendrick Garden and Rock Garden. The parking lot is not as big as the other gardens, and after parking, you'll need to walk down this walkway crossing the railroad below with a view of Lake Ontario in a distance. At the end of the walkway, there is a parking lot on the left which is for handicap or tour bus parking. Walk across the small road and the Laking Garden is on your left. I was greeted by huge colorful flowers once I cross the road, and the flowers were along the entrance of the garden. So beautiful and big. This garden is wheelchair friendly up a point. After entering the garden, there is a picnic pavilion where people with wheelchair can sit and enjoy the view. The garden is wheelchair accessible until you reach the steps which lead to the garden of flowers. Below the steps, it is mostly grass, and if you walk to the left away from the flowers, there is a beautiful view of Lake Ontario. I went in May and the perennials were in full bloom. Lucky me! It was so beautiful.

This garden is nice, though depending upon when you come, the rows of peonies and other flowers would be spectacular. This year with all the heat and drought really caused some of the otherwise beautiful flowers to be non existent. Though other parts of the garden is nice and does provide a nice walk through.

I highly recommend visiting in June. The irises and then a bit later the peonies are simply stunning. Even if you visit later in the year the middle terrace has lots of beautiful perennials, and near the entrance is a heritage garden which is pretty cool. Only critisim would be that it would be nice if there were more shady spots to sit down and rest.

Laking garden is a nice little garden to sit and gather your thoughts. Its not very big, so you can walk the whole grounds in under half an hour. It doesn't usually seem to be busy. Very well kept.

Beautiful when in season. Finding the right time to visit is a bit tricky; the overlap between irises and peonies is off by about a week, but if you're lucky you can catch both at once. It got a bit wild during my visit this year, with some very loud and obnoxious foreign tourists bullying and pushing their way through the flower beds to take pictures of themselves; unfortunately, this is not an unusually frequent occurrence at the Royal Botanical Gardens.

It’s an alright place to come during “non-peak” days, such as holidays. The pros are is that there are multiple parks to visit that are connected by trails that will keep you occupied for hours. The cons are is that everything is situated far from each other and the walks are very blend and mediocre. Each park is rather grand in scale but the area itself is very barren with only a handful of things to see.
