This is a place where you should plan to take the whole day to enjoy its rugged beauty

Angie Kurhan

Amazing trails, easy to follow marks to stay on the right trail. Absolutely beautiful and very quiet during the day in the week. Will continue to walk these trails, hiking through makes me feel like a kid again.

Did the small loop- really awesome hike. Some good views and varied terrain. Wear boots! A little muddy.

Pretty specifically during fall season, it is a popular trail, so expect people. It is a steady and then steep incline to the lookout. A great place to spot an array of mushrooms ( when in season).

Tania LilNinjaT

Great place for hiking

Went hiking there this morning with my sister, my nephews (8 and 10) and two of their dogs. Loved the trails!! Some areas are very rocky but the kids and dogs had no trouble. Bring a small first aid kit in case someone decides they are amazing at parkour but really are not. In this case, one of my nephews. Well-shaded areas, different trail difficulties. Will be going again.

Vinny The Thrill

Beautiful, as you might expect - but can be hard on you, if you’re not an avid hiker or in great shape lol

Allyson Windham

Really fun hike but as noted by another reviewer, if you do the full hike, you will likely come into contact with ticks (there's an area with lots of tall grass you can't avoid). We found several on our clothes so make sure you dress smart!

Zak Craig

One of the more interesting hikes in the area, lots of great views! Will be back again for sure

Anya Rozman

Beautiful hike with a bit of an uphill and rocky terrain. Perfect for views outside the city.

Easy accessibility, beautiful views. Nice hiking trails. Definitely will recommend for no hikers to visit.

Lorin K

Nice place for a hike. We went at the beginning of April, the trail was a little muddy. I was surprised at how rugged it was, as in rocks, boulders, tree roots etc on the trail - but with good boots it's not a problem. The ruggedness made it hard to walk the dog on the leash.

Maaike Hum

Great hike, too many mosquitoes

Jessica Code

Tim Hawkins

Quiet, not crowded.

Elizabeth Antony

Good experience. All hikers should visit it at least once. Trail is rocky and some places are muddy. Majority of the path is shady. You will get a good workout for sure Please use bug spray. The trails have lot of rocks on the way so if you have knee problem perhaps should avoid it . Difficulty - medium We explored the south loop and took us 2Hrs40 mins to complete. This includes stopping on the way

Winter Baldwin

Beautiful place

G.P Humber

Great hiking spot - especially if new to this but in good shape.

Randy King

Pretty little spot. Great for launching a canoe or kayak.

Ticks!!!! Prepare for Ticks and Mosqitoes! Absolutely beautiful trail with stunning lookout points but prepare for the bugs! I used the 5 hour bug spray for Ticks, Flies, Mosqitoes and it worked great! Flicked three Ticks off, NO BITES!!! Advanced Trail with all the elevation change & difficult terrain! I Loved It!!!

Rob Lloyd

A little muddy and not much parking. Was pretty busy when I was there. I will go back.

Venkata Sai Krishna

Only go in fall time for best views, Map signs were non existent.

Jodi Fawcett

Beautiful trail. Not little kid friendly. Extremely rocky. Took our 9 and 11 year old and they did quite well. Would of been nice if there were a few more map signs on the trails. Look outs were amazing! Definitely recommend for a fall hike. The colours were breathtaking.

David Currie

A great place for working up a sweat if you like walking on some long trails :-). My friend and i did :-).

Went here on my birthday in July 2018. Not well maintained at all. Obvious trail is not used that often. Trail head to the lookout had a lot of mosquitos. Lookouts were average - may return here in the fall to see what it's like with the colours.

Definitely a hidden gem. Trails are usually not very busy. Big loop with some uphills sections so make sure you know what you are in for!

Jon TeBrugge

Beautiful hike with great lookout points. Full loop will take you a couple hours, but it's very nice.

Ryan Solomon

Very nice walk, took quite a while though, not sure about 6km?? Beautiful nature and animals to be seen. Bring lots of bugs spray coz some of the nature isn't friendly

Theo Graham

Great place. Trails could be slightly better marked. But other than that, great place located close to Gananoque.

Evan Woodley

As far as a day hike goes, pretty challenging terrain and some good views. Watch out for mud and snakes though if you are there in the spring.

roger meunier

Perfect day for a hike, sunny skies and packed trails made for a truly excellent day, parking lot could be better if plowed

Nevin Williams

Trails are very well marked and maintained. There are man-made bridges throughout and tree branches are trimmed along the sides of the trail. It is hard to get lost with blue arrows pointing you where to go all along the way. The hike is moderate to challenging with rocky slopes and steep hills. Overall a very good hike.

Hamburger !

Good hike. Stunning views. Wonderful trails.

Dustin Thorley

Great trail with some good elevation changes. Took a Cub Scout group here and they all enjoyed the hike.

Victoria Wisniewski

Beautiful Lookouts and at times challenging terrain made for a memorable and worthwhile hike.

Kevin Jones

George Semple

Great 6 or 11km loops. Not busy and muddy rough trails. Just how I like it. Well marked. The Northern loop is clearly less used, more rugged of a trail and definitely worth checking out.

Buggie and a bit boggy but the dogs and I loved it

We hiked for 4 hours today and covered 10km of the trails...it is a bit steep in places and quite rocky in areas so wear hiking boots for safer footing. Saw one huge Porcupine on our hike and he/she must be the grandaddy of the forest as we have never seen one so large. It cooperated for a couple photos. ????. Would recommend the trail for those who like a good long hike...if you have small children not the place to go for sure. Happy Hiking!

Noah Johnson

A must see if you like hiking!

Nick Hao

absolutely gorgeous trail. I loved it! Heres some tips on the lookouts. theres a lookout, where you can see a valley & a little house, facing east.( theres no sinage indicating a lookout though. ) Takes about 30~ min to arrive the second cross road, which leads to the north trail, takes about an 1 hour & 30 min to arrive at. the final lookout takes almost two hours to reach from the parkinglot, it faces the south east. My favourite to be frank! A great view of the surrounding area.

Eric Jacques (griffondude)

Amazing trails here but definitely not for people with mobility issues. Lots of Rocky, uneven terrain and climbing steep inclines. In the winter, this can be slippery and dangerous. Having said all that, the trail is well marked and the views are great. There are no facilities here so come ready to pack out your trash (please).

Anthony Slack

Great, very challenging trails. 2 loops we did both the South and North. Nice vista's as well.

Sugar Packet

Don't take the Google maps direction it tells you to turn right after the bridge but you actually go straight and the parking lots of the right hand side, it's easy to miss so look out for it

Great area to hike in, so diverse, but be prepared, some difficult areas and hard climbs. Well worth it. We continue to go back.

Frank KP Chow

Only spent an hour and half here and climbed to the top of one of the outcrops for a magnificent view of the leaves changing colours. Lot more trail to explore. Another time.

Dean Djakovic

The nicest hiking area around Kingston. Two nice trails, not very difficult. And the view from the top of Rock Dunder is just breathtaking

Didn't have my hopes up too high, which made this hike even better. It far exceeded my expectations, but I also have low expectations for all hikes in the Ottawa and surrounding area. It may be slightly challenging for inexperienced hikers, as there is a lot of uneven footing, and parts of the hike are inclined. You can do one loop or do two- I've been here twice now and did both loops both times. The hike is about 4 hours round trip if you do the full loop at an easy/medium pace. You can't get lost really, the trail is marked and the South loop is extremely well beaten. The North loop looks like it gets less traffic, but still hard to get lost. I took one star off because TICKS. Be careful with your dogs and yourself, this is tick heaven, or rather it is tick hell for us. Check yo-self and your dogs profusely because you will be absolutely covered in ticks. Perhaps consider changing your clothes at the car, and putting your hiking clothes in a sealed bag- I found ticks in my car, on myself and on dogs once returning home and even inside the car days later. You have been warned!!!!!!!!!!!

Debbie Lucas

Would have given a 5 rating but because there were not enough signs posted especially in one of the loops it made us feel like we had lost our direction. Beautiful trail but slippery in spots slipped and fell a few times.

Megan Steacy

gary woodroffe

Very hard walk but a good one

Gary Kennedy

Great hike with some really excellent views. Not an easy trail though so be prepared. Some of the trails are in need of grooming but overall a really nice hike.

One of my fav places to hike. So beautiful

Andrew Miller

The terrain is rocky and lots of muddy spots in the spring. Decent cardio workout though! You'll spend a lot of time looking at where you're stepping so you don't roll your ankle, but take the time to look around cause it's a beautiful trail. Don't skip the lookouts along the way either! This hike is considered moderate-challenging according to the sign at the entrance.

Anita Gilmer

Jennifer Baril

Love this trail. It's rugged but it's a beauty. Looked for some geocaches along the way.

Ahmad Awad

Great hike . Marble rock in real

Jocelyn Shaw

We heard good things about it, but were disappointed when we got there. Just a small sign leading to a muddy trail. We decided to go to another nearby trail - Rock Dunder Lookout - about 20 minutes away and that was amazing!

David Barker

Fabulous hiking trails and lookouts

Emily Hammond

Gorgeous, somewhat challenging .. make sure you take time to watch for trail markers, they can be tricky to find at some points.

This crossing site is much better than MAPLE GROVE. MLC 70.

(Translated) A good place to see the maple leaves, you can see far without climbing high (Original) 看枫叶的好去处,不登很高就能望远

Swarms of mosquitos and unavoidable tall grass with ticks. While the trail is great and challenging I would not recommend it to anyone unless you are hiking it in a full on bug jacket and pants tucked in socks and taped up. The bugs are relentless and you will be flicking of ticks of yourself as the trail takes you through unavoidable tall grass. It might be better in the colder months. I did the first loop and gave up. One of the worst hikes I had and I hiked all over Ontario. We went to Rock Dunder after and had a much better experience.

Awesome hike at any time of the year

Beatiful hiking trails! The terrain is challenging in some areas, wear good shoes and bring lots of water ????

Very difficult terrain. Appropriate attire would make or break you day

Love it. Amazing trail. If you.have a bad back or bad knees bring a cane or walking stick. You will need it. It is a little bit advanced for Seniors. Not all but some. Defenetly will not fit a stroller or a wheelchair. Bring lots of bug spray. Ticks are also there durimg tick season. Keep.that in mind. Always tuck your socks in or use tape to keep them out of your socks. They are like little ninjas.
