I am an amateur photographer so this place is like god sent to me. There are three levels at the top. First one has glass windows all around, second and third has none. It is better to use upper two levels to take some photos. There was a gentleman helping people and explaining the area when I was there. He was really helpful to me planing the rest of my trip. There is also a store at the bottom of the tower where you can by memorabilia and drinks.

Fabulous view from 3 observation decks. Love the view from all directions. Very good for photography. Got some great pictures. There is a small toll of $4 to go across the bridge to Hill Island Tower. Some weekends it is open for sunset viewing in the evening g as a special event. Have been when I a small kid but nice to go back as an adult many years later. Elevator ride up takes only 40 seconds a d the tour guide at the top is really informative.

April 2018: I've been up the tower in the summer but the springtime is a really different view altogether! The bare trees, evergreens and green grass, blue skies and deep sapphire, glittering water all come together so beautifully. Every time I take in the view from the tower, I have a new appreciation for the 1000 Islands! Don't forget to lose yourself in the gift shop (and grab and ice cream!) there is so much to choose from, great treasures and souvenirs to remind yourself of the beauty you discovered here. July 2018 : Morning views from last year's visit in August compared to this year's visit in the afternoon yielded incredible pictures of islands that were cast in shadows previously. I could see marshlands where I could only see the sun reflection before. Even just an hour is enough to change how you see the islands and the water below. Stick around and you'll even see the cargo ships coming up/down the river!

Nice to have an overview of the 1000 Islands national park! The tower was higher than we expected. It had three observation decks, one indoor and two outdoor! The people running the center and shop migrated originally from Germany and they are very friendly and speak multiple languages! The guide that was on the observation deck was very knowledgeable and super friendly! She gave us a lot of information on the area, the park and its history! There were a lot of free brochures, pictures and informational posters of the area! We hafld a great time!

Great views from the tower. I highly recommend it. Apparently, when this tower was built in 1965 it was the tallest free standing structure in the world. The elevator gets you to the top in 40 seconds.

The view was great. The workers were very pleasant and greeted us well. The gentleman on observation level was knowledgeable and very chatty. I realise we went on the first day of opening but felt disappointed on the lack of upkeep done while closed.....the carpet on stairs had green painters tape keeping it together....the paint was peeling in lots of locations.......the ladies washroom sink wasnt working....and the washrooms are not very inviting. The outside of the entrance was old and tattered....all in all the whole thing was not very appealing and i would like to see the entrance fees spent on upkeeping better before we return again.

The view from the top is awesome. A staff member is up there as a guide. The lady was particularly helpful, she brought us binoculars. The souvenirs store has a lot to choose from - very nice stuff. The only drawback is the schedule: they close at 6:00 PM, when sun is still out. There must be some gorgeous views at sunset.

Have to pay to pass the bridge to get there which isn't that bad and even though there is stairs leading to the top, you have to take the elevator which was 10$ per person if I remember well. Suffice to say, we were 5 and not expecting this so we didn't get to enjoy the view that I doubt is worth 10$/person. If you're a cheapskate like I am just walk along the bridges and it'll be enough.

A must do thing if you're on a trip to 1000 islands. Tower is located just before the US border. If you're traveling from Canada, you don't need a US visa. There's a toll booth just before the 1000 Islands bridge, you need to pay $4.25 toll (incls. two way trip). Tower is an old one (60 years old). Views from the top are amazing. There are 3 levels on the top (covered in a single ticket). Last two levels are without a window obstruction. Staff is some of the amazing people one can meet. Tower is closed on Thanksgiving for the season. Parking is free.

It is exactly what you pay for, a simple tower viewing experience. However this last third time I went there was an interpreter at the top that shared details regarding the area and cool features. He also helps share destinations that you should visit in the area and even beyond. That is why I rated this place to a four and a half destination. On the ground level they have a gift shop with really really ancient kids playground. People are friendly. Great location.

A must visit spot when you visit 1000 Islands. Spectacular view from the top of the tower. Just nature at its best. The person at the top provides you with splendid information about history and even points you to places explaining them in detail, he also suggested us to take a different route instead of highway for our next destination(railway tunnel) it was worth taking that route. When you come down and see the tower from land(standing nearby to the tower )you will feel like it’s going to fall on you(illusion). Totally an amazing experience at Thousand Island Tower. I think the ticket was around $20 per person also you have to pay $4 to cross the bridge to visit the tower.

I went to the top of the 1000 island tower expecting to get an aerial view of Boldt Castle, but was very disappointed that I couldn’t even get a glimpse of the castle from the tower. When I looked up the information on the 1000 island tower, images of the Boldt Castle is also showing. I now realize those pictures were more than likely taken with a drone. So if you are going up to the top of the tower and expect to see the castle from above, you will be disappointed. It also cost $12 to go to the top of the tower.

Sweeping views of the border at forty stories high, with multiple observation decks. At night there are mosquitos, so make sure to spray yourself and there is no air conditioning. I went to their fourth of July firework viewing, which had a lovely dessert selection, but was disappointed that the fireworks don't look as impressive up high, and at a distance.

Amazing experience. The staff was friendly, especially the German-Canadian lady guide on the top of the observation deck. The tower looks dated and abandoned from outside though but we stopped there to just check and found it was operational. If you are visiting 1000 islands area, this is a kind of must stop. The view from above is fantastic. Knowledgeable volunteers will answer all your questions and even recommend things to do/visit in the area. Kids were definitely impressed with the panoramic view and all the islands that you can see. The tower has a rustic/old school charm and vibe. You can buy souvenirs, postcards, ice cream etc. in the shop. No dogs allowed. But there is a nice outside sitting area if you have to wait with your pup till it's your turn to go up. You don't climb all the stairs up. There is an elevator taking you to the first glass platform, and the last part is accessible only by stairs. Go. Enjoy.

Hi, having just come from a 5 hour cruise that cost us $92, I found this place was just not worth it. It came to about $23 for the two of us, and you can really only spend about ten minutes up there. In my opinion, you get better views and more bang for your buck by going on a boat ride.

The view was beautiful and I really enjoyed that they had information and newspaper clippings about the islands in the tower. Didn't spend too much time you there and it felt a little pricey at $12 for the little time we spent there. Also, although the staff were friendly and informative, there were quite a few passive aggressive signs in the gift shop about the bathroom being for customers only. The signs actually almost made me not want to buy anything. Probably a one time stop. Good if you are looking for a quick stop in the thousand islands on your way home like we did.

It's fun but there's not much to do. There is a gift shop with a small ice cream selection. The elevator leaves every 10 minutes to bring people up and down and then there are 3 levels once you get up there and a level at the very top is open and the tour guide guy up there is great and very knowledgeable and there are lots of brochures and some seating up there as well

Been there twice in the same summer (the tourit season) and was told both times that it is under maintainance and to come back in an hour. I went back and they said it is still undermaintainance. The gift shop at the bottom of the tower is pointless and the bathroom there is disgusting. Don't waste your time there. Shop staff was generally very friendly. The guide at the tower was very informative. Elevator is very old. There doesn't seem to be a good system for getting tourists through the elevator -- we were told just to wait ( I guess until we had more people to go up with, but ended up waiting quiet some time for more people to collect). The entire trip would probably take a good 1 hour to 1.5 hours from the very bottom to the very top (there's about 3 levels at the top -- 1 indoor, mid-level is open-air with bars, top level is completely open but with even more limited room.

Definitely a sight to see if you can't or have never been on a helicopter. Not very many opportunities to be as high in the air as a helicopter would provide. As a local that lives not too far away from the tower, the appeal isn't as interesting as one from further away might get, but not a bad one. Be sure to bring change to use the telescopic glasses for a more vivid view of the surrounding terrain. They have several evening events throughout the year, which adds to the experience for small families and couples. They have a decent sized gift shop, more geared towards people from a different country entering or leaving Canada, but they also have a wide selection of other gifts and trinkets that are worth the consideration.

This is a must if you are exploring the 1000 Islands. The boat tours are amazing but getting the chance to take in the views from the tower really completes the trip. A huge THANK YOU to John, one of the staff members. John was so lively and so full of very interesting information that really added to the experience. My friend and I were fortunate for his knowledge of the area, so much so, that we added a couple of hours to our trip by heading in the opposite direction of home, to take his recommendation of visiting the Brockville Railway Tunnel. It was well worth the drive and made the trip extra special. Thanks????????

Definitely worth the view is Fantastic. (Original) Toller Aussichtsturm mit einer schönen Sicht auch die 1000 Islands. Der Eintritt kostet extra aber es fährt ein Fahrstuhl nach oben der von den Geschäft innen zu erreichen ist. Es lohnt sich auf jeden Fall die Aussicht ist Fantastisch.

The view from the top was amazing. I thought I had to climb all the way to the top. But they have an elevator which only takes 40 seconds. You have a 360 view at the top of the tower. There are three levels. When you exit the elevator at the top, the first floor will be a glass covered area. But the next two levels are open. The second floor is windy but the top is not that much and it's open. You can see the horizon from the top and it's all green everywhere since the Summer just began. There's no age limit and you can purchase the tickets from ground ticket office. There are special occasion dinners also. The dates are mentioned in the posters.
