Great place for a walk or just an outing. Very family friendly.
Visited Labour Day at 11 am. The parking lot was already full but we easily found space on the road. (This was not the case by the time we left). Beautiful at first glance but gets tired fast. Views are minimal and crowded. Tunnels are all at the beginning of the trail. The rest is straight, narrow and leads to nothing. If you bring your bikes like we did, the path gets better after the tunnels, but you’ll have to walk it to that point (crowded, dark and rocky). 2 stars cause I could tell families and tourists were having a blast. For me, it felt like watching a movie where all the good parts are given away in the trailer.
An amazing fun place for the kids to explore and make believe. Then it’s nice to have a picnic in the parking lot. Bring a flashlight!
Beautiful place to visit
What a great adventure out of the city. The history and work that surrounds this place is so cool. Oh how great a place to visit. As always bring lots of water and leave no trace!!
We have been riding along parts of the KVR and found this part quite spectacular. Rode our bikes from the park to the trail head on the Hope side. Gentle slope and nice wide trail. This is a must do stop.
Great walk, easy path to walk. Great view of the old tunnels and river. If your in the area, definitely check it out. Great history.
Beautiful “walk in the park”. Heavily trafficked with groups/families looking to take outstanding pics. 5 stars for Orthello Tunnels. ***0 stars for those who visit the park and show it the utmost disrespect. Garbage by the lot overflowing and left out for wildlife to choke on. If it doesn’t fit, tie it up, and take it home.
Super nice, takes 10-15min to walk to the end from the parking lot. Many spots to stop and take nice photos.
What a great place to get out and stretch my legs after getting off the island. Parking was a bit touch and go but I was able to get a sweet spot up front. The walk to the tunnels was pretty flat so most people should be able to do it. Just happened to be a beautiful day so the water looked this amazingly blue/green color. Walking over the bridges and checking out the water down below was breathtaking. Highly recommended for all ages and worth the visit. I will be back again on my next pass through..
Great place lots of nice trails to hike through. We used to come here when I was a kid on our way to go camping or fishing. My mom always stopped at the last tunnel and said it was the end and we had to turn back. Turns out she was lying the last tunnel curves then carries on to a nice path. I asked her about it and she said she just said that so we could leave and head off to go camping or fishing. Thanks ma. Oh the lies parents tell their kids.
Very short but beautiful scenery. Great for kids and stroller accessible.
Excellent. For being a free attraction it's worth every moment. You see mountains, water, fish and the tunnels. The scenery is breathtaking. Keep in mind that there are no shops and no visitor center. There are toilets only at the entrance but without running water. The paths are uneven and not suitable for people who need assistance.
Stopped here for a short break on a drive back to Vancouver from Lake Country. So glad I did! What beautiful and amazing spot! The tunnels and bridges have a lot of history to them, so I highly encourage you to take the time to read the signs. What an amazing feat of engineering and determination! There can be quite a bit of tourists, but the loop trail (Hope-Niccola) will help avoid a lot of it, while still being able to see the tunnels and bridges
A quintessential part of Lower Mainland life, visiting the tunnels at least once while you live here is a must. …
Great place to stretch your legs in the middle of a big drive (Vancouver to Calgary) very nice scenery and easy walk
Amazing landscape with historical backdrop of early European immigration
Very nice walk, stroller accessible unless you want to get down to the river near the beginning of the walk. Beautiful views.
Easy walk. If you are going to plan a short trip to hope this is a really good to place for walk, nice environment and amazing tunnel
This place is very nice and quiet for a walk plus you get to learn a great history lesson. i went down near the water and found lot of beer cans, comon people we’re better than this, tried to pick up as many as i could but couldn’t get all. Please pick up your trash its not that hard. ✌????
Been here a few times in the past few years, the tunnels are a nice relic of the old Kettle Valley Railway, once the main railway of southern BC, that is easily accessible. Very nice to have 4 tunnels so close to each other, and also hewn right out of the rock. In the summer the tunnels are a good place to cool down as well. Though it would be even better if the entire length of the Kettle Valley Railway was restored and made into a trail, as the Kettle Valley Trail leaves the original rail grade shortly past the tunnels.
Worth my visit! Kids and myself enjoyed experience and scenery. The tunnels are well kept and have interesting history behind. The river is quite rapid and loud, so you can feel the power of it. The trail is not long and the park has nice picnic tables
Such a cool place to visit. Always drove by it and didn’t even know it existed.
Amazing scenery! It is a must see.
Worth a go. Beautiful scenic and really chilling during summer time
Beautiful little trail and Tunnels! Very easy walk. The Tunnels and river views are amazing. Parking can be a headache if its busy.
Amazing walk. Nice wide trail and decently flat. Kinda uneven inside the tunnels but mom and I both agreed not using a flashlight and almost falling what have the fun of it. Pretty much no mosquitoes. Bathroom and grabages are very well maintained and stocked.
Amazing place, it blew my expectations away. Walking through the tunnels was creepy, and admirable at the same time. The canyon was beautiful too. Definitely a must see
Easily accessible from the highway with a good amount of parking! Trail is about 6km and an easy walk which was very scenic as it runs along the water for a good portion - you can also choose to turn back and go through the tunnels a second time or complete the trail loop through the forest (less busy in this section). The tunnels were spectacular to see in person and the history behind their construction was fascinating. The park had a few outhouses and volunteers on site to answer any questions.
On the top of my list of of places to stop between Edmonton and Vancouver. Short easy flat hike but absolutely beautiful. …
Stunning. Amazing views, safe handrails, and secure bridges to walk across. Walking through the longer tunnels is a little bit scary without a flashlight in my opinion, so be prepared :) You probably wouldn't want to come here if you are afraid of heights, as those bridges I mentioned go across a large body of water that is far below where you'd be walking. You can go through some tunnels and turn back before the bridge, though.
Love going to explore the tunnels and Canyon.
Easy hike with mesmerizing view.
Short hike to some cool views and 4 tunnels
About a 30 min walk/and back. Experience includes nice cool water misting air, prefect for those warm summer days. Parking lot can be packed, and there is limitations on what you can do once your here.
These tunnels are a staple for locals and tourists throughout the year... always a nice stroll, sometimes you get some great views of salmon runs as well. In the summer, check out the river banks by the trail head, in the winter, keep an eye out for the spawning runs!!!
A great short walk with lots of great views! You will not regret stopping here! The tunnels and the river is just such a cool experience that will make your trip that much more special!
Amazing tourist attraction! Very enjoyable and is great to go to with kids. Great pictures can be taken so don't forget to bring a camera! But, one thing you should remember is to wear clothes you can move around in because there is an awesome nature walk to do!
Worth the trip! A super fun short hike
Awesome place for a quick side trip. Can take as little as 45 minutes or a couple hours. Looking down to the river between the tunnels is beautiful. The tunnels are a marvel in engineering for the time.
Relaxing place. Make sure bring extra cloths to enjoy the water during summer time????
Always a great place to walk and check out. Kids love it, it's a beautiful park, trail and pretty neat view of the fast moving river below.
Nice place. 3 weeks after I visited this place, I watched an old movie "First Blood" and I recognized this rock wall at a glance
Very easy walk through the path, great day trip to explore the tunnels. It is closed in the winter but during open times it is very beautiful. Summer can get extremely busy and parking will be backed up to the road but In off season it is very calm.
Easy relaxing walk in nature.
Cool place to visit
Very interesting place to explore on a weekend. Bring your kids and enjoy the walk in tunnels You will see lots of scenic views. It is about 30 minutes walk to get to end of 4 tunnels including photo shooting stops. Tunnels are constructed in early 1900 for Pacific train. The last tunnel shows 1951 on concrete. Pro tip is to get to the River and place your bare foot and relax. Parking lot is not good at all and obviously not enough for the demand. Most probably you will end up to park your car on road side like everyone else. It should be about 6-7 minutes walk to the park gate
Beautiful, really worth a visit, very interesting. I haven’t seen signs telling facts about it though. Lots of people so I’m guessing peak hours on weekends are probably a bit chaotic since parking is quite limited. Went on a late Sunday afternoon and was fine. More shots & videos at @maluzizz.
Cool walk in the tunnels and along the canyons. I personally would have appreciated a bit of light inside the tunnels but I guess the darkness is part of the experience and a reason why so many people love this place.
What a beautiful place! Here’s some facts, open dawn till dusk ( will post pic) also open from April 1- October 31 ! Love it here. Due to not being open season you cannot access the tunnels but still a nice walk and beautiful terrain. Update We returned on April 1 tunnels are still closed but an easy climb over or under the fence.
This family friendly hike (definitely a walk) is spectacular! 10/10 would recommend. The canyon views from the bottom of the gorge are stunning. The photos from a phone simply don't do it justice.
Love this place. Beautiful and scenic - walk through the tunnels is beautiful. Tunnels were a welcome coolness during a hot summer day. Pet friendly and so gorgeous.
Come here either early morning or really late in the afternoon if you wanna get parking spots on weekends. Weekdays probably aren't so bad. I've come here on a Friday at around 2 or 3PM and the parking lot was only half full. Going through the tunnels is the most exciting part. The rest is just easy hiking with not much too see other than mostly treed pathways. Just before the entrance to the tunnel as well keep an eye for some pathway to the river running below. It's a nice spot in the summer to have a picnic. It's mostly rocks but you can bring some foldable chairs and watch the river stream running right next to you
Beautiful place to have a little walk through incredibly beautiful Rocky Tunnels. There is a gorgeous river running under the bridges that conform the tunnel. To be fair the pictures make no justice to what you will live there. The only downside is that it is usually closed during rainy season, which in BC is all year.
We had great fun at Othello tunnels little did we knew it was a straight hike ... Considering we had to seniors with us it was not very hard for them either the river added so much natural beauty to the place. We loved it
Short trail to the tunnel. Well paved and clean trail.
The Othello Tunnels experience is a MUST for all British Columbians and tourists alike. It is a treasure and still feels like a well-kept secret.
I came here on return path from Kelowna, and it's really refreshing. I didn't know this is where they shot the movie "First Blood" (along with the city Hope). The scenery is absolutely stunning, with 3 tunnels along the creeks/falls. Our group was pretty tired at the end of a roadtrip, so we didn't stay for long. I will definitely come back for a visit in the near future!
Great spot to spot and take pictures in some old train tunnels. There's lots of history behind this place and there's many signs explaining that. Very cool place to explore
Great place to get outdoors. With the winter everything had turned to ice which made for some extreme ice! I would recommend doing the loop trail to end in the tunnels and save the beat for last. The hike was only a couple miles with some great views of neighboring mountains.
awesome place to visit. not a harsh hike. more like an easy walk. its amazing how such beauty can come free. so happy they dont charge for admission. lovely place. would love to come back.
Watch my 10-minute video. It takes you through four tunnels.???? Othello Tunnels is 105 years old now with several bridges in between meant to link Kootenays with the South Coast of BC. ???? The name was chosen by the engineer who was a big fan of Shakespeare. Many Chinese workers were involved in the process and died mostly because of explosives. From the first tunnel, it takes you 10 minutes to pass all the four tunnels. Afterwards, there is a beautiful trail. ???? All the way you can see Nicolum River under your feet. Its astonishing and you like to jump into it with a strange green color. On your way there are signs describing the history of the tunnel if you like. Its a historical experience. Don’t miss it!????
This is an experience that I am happy to finally have made it to. Flat trail walking along the river and then the impact of these man made tunnels is incredible. 3000' of sheer rock from above down to the river is impressive.
Loved it. Google map can say you have reached on the highway at no where. Go to the HOPE town and then follow the map. Remember your turns as there is no network coverage at the tunnel.
This worth your time! There are some amazing and beautiful views here. The walk up doesn’t take long and you’ll be happy you visited. It’s an amazing little place and it’s nice a cool and a welcome refresher from the heat. I’ve added a lot of pics so you can get an idea of how pretty it is
What a great piece of history! A must-see if you are ever around Hope. The parking does get crazy full on summer weekends. Gorgeous views of the canyon and green waters. You can also complete a easy hike to the Kettle Valley Railway from the tunnels. Please carry flashlight if you can. Puddles and muddy in the tunnel
The abandoned train tunnel is so charming. The views of cliffs and canyon are amazing. Abandoned tunnels can help us reach deeper into the mountains. I really feel a very novel feeling here. This is a very recommendable tourist attraction.
Plenty of bathrooms, lots of walking space and trails. The scenery is beautiful and it is a refreshing place to stop after driving for a long time. There is no park pass required to go to this spot as far as I know. And I didn't see any picnic tables, but there were some benches littered along the trail. Bring a jacket on a cloudy day, because the elevation will make a person chilly.
Great place great walk
THIS WAS THE BEST TOURIST SPOT TO BOOT! ADVENTURE TIME! I say this because this is not a mountain view trail. I never knew this was here! Not too long of a hike. Wonderful view of what a tunnel should look like. Rivers of clear water are all around. There are info stations if you want to know more about the tunnels. There's no restaurants or anything, it's just a long trail with wonderful view. I would highly suggest this to all of the people here in Canada. -1 star bec. no washrooms during the trail, only when you park. Parking is also limited to 30-50 cars i think. You have to park far off on the road before you reach the parking lot.
The walk was pretty neat. Mountains and river.
Beautiful hike through old train tunnels. My son enjoyed himself throughly. We go once a year and it’s such a nice hike even with a four year old in tow.
????????Othello Tunnels, Coquihalla Canyon Provincial Park ????♀️ Coquihalla Canyon Provincial Park, Hope, BC This time I will visit a mysterious spot. The location of the Othello tunnels near the convergence of several historic trails--the Hudson's Bay Company brigade trail, the Dewdney Trail and the Hope-Nicola Valley Trail--has both historical and recreational importance. These early trails assisted in the opening up of the province for settlement and resource extraction beginning in the late 1840s. The Hope-Nicola Trail is now a popular hiking route. The Othello Tunnels are five old train bridges and tunnels that pass over the wild Coquihalla River, cutting through stock granite walls. The tunnels are located east of the town of Hope in the Coquihalla Provincial Park of British Columbia. The trail is a short 3.5km return route. The canyon itself is significant for its breathtaking immense scale, the sheer vertical walls, and spectacular views up and down the Coquihalla River and to the Cascade Mountains to the north. The canyon and tunnels engage all of the senses with the visual experience of passing through the tunnels and the canyon, the cool temperature and damp scents in the tunnels, and the sound of the swirling Coquihalla River below. The tunnels express a continuum of time through the use of different construction materials such as wood, concrete, and stone. Aesthetic value is found in the design of the wooden support structure in Tunnel No. 1, the elaborate concrete columns in Tunnel No. 2, and the decorative concrete tunnel entrances. The winter in this area is mesmerizing, but due to unsafe conditions, the tunnels are closed during this time. They can even be occasionally closed during the summer months if there are too many rock slides taking place. Taking this all into consideration, the best chance for a visit is from April or May to October. The tunnels are the most important visitor attraction in the Hope area, representing both an economic and interpretive opportunity for the town of Hope. A destination for local and regional outdoors groups, the tunnels, park and trails are valued for the recreational opportunities they provide local citizens and tourists for viewing, walking, picnicking, photography and fishing. The site is also important for its extensive use by the film industry (the most well-known film being 'First Blood') and for the establishment of visitor facilities by the Hope Chamber of Commerce through a Canada Works Grant prior to the area being designated a recreation area. ⚠️TUNNELS & TRAIL Please Respect & Help to Preserve this Historical and Ecologically Sensitive Area by: - Using Garbage Containers - Staying on Trails - Reduce Noise Keep your Pets Restrained. The Orthello tunnels are definitely a place you should visit when in the Hope area. From Vancouver it’s less than a 2 hour car ride. Parking and the tunnels are free and it’s incredibly beautiful there. The walk trough the tunnels takes about an hour if you go slow and you can either return to the parking lot through there or you can hike over the mountain. There is a trail but it’s very steep and just a footpath, bit scary and exhausting. We went up in full summer heat so we didn’t have much of a good time, but the view over the mountains is amazing and was worth it. All in all definitely go there the tunnels are massive, you walk next to a whitewater river and nature is everywhere. LOVED IT!
It's ok. It's beautiful scenery, but it's pretty busy with visitors. Even on a rainy day. Not the best place to go for a quiet and peaceful walk away from people, and I don't go there to see rocks or people.
Made a short detour to visit the Provincial Park on Dec 26, 2019. Nobody was here! I realized that the tunnels are closed off for the winter season and for a good reason; there was a large fallen rock near the entrance! Nevertheless, it’s still a spectacular place to stop by and enjoy the peaceful sounds of nature in the early morning! The tunnels will re-open for the season on May 15, 2020 according to the BC Parks website.
We just loved it. Fantastic history. The tunnels were amazing. The River flowing beneath had fish jumping upstream
Great spot to stop on your way to or from the interior. Nice easy walk to the end of the tunnels and breathtaking views of the Fraser River.
Always the best place to reconnect with family, or just go for a walk and clear the head. The temperature change from sunlight to in the tunnel during summer is something I can't begin to describe. If you're traveling through BC you need to stop here and experience this place.
The must visit place to go in clear weather. Easily accessible and really photogenic view
A place from the history. Must visit.
Absolutely stunning day trip just outside the lower mainland of Vancouver. Easy walk through historic train tunnels that cut through the jutting mountainside. Must see if you’re in the area. Trail is straight forward and easy to follow for anyone. Salmon were just starting to run when we visited and you could see them pooled in the river and jumping upstream. BC at it’s best here! Bring a flashlight as some of the caves are dark. Lots of free parking and easy to navigate on Google maps.
Great walk, very interesting construction. Need a flashlight as some of the tunnels are fairly good and very dark in the middle
Fantastic family pit stop with a short 1km walk. There's also an area before the tunnels where u can get down to the water for a peaceful lunch break. Definitely worth the stop to check out these well kept tunnels!
Beautiful! The walk through the tunnels is fun and if you don't want to take it too easy, do the hope-nicola trail and Then end it through the tunnels. A lot more fun that way!
A really long but mostly flat walk. Nice place to visit if you don't want to exert yourself on a hike. Offers decent opportunities for pictures
Super cool came here randomly and we were so happy we did
Super easy walk. We went during fall and it was awesome. The tunnels were so dark but as long as you have ur flashlight on ur phone, you're good.
Magical..flowing water..tunnels..rock formations etc
Added the Trail Loop strictly for a longer and more elevation gain to the see the Othello Tunnels. Starting with the climb from the parking lot was recommended by others. The actual trail is not that exciting but added to the fitness …
This hike is well worth the trip. There are four tunnels that you wander through. Bring a flashlight as the ground is a bit bumpy. And be prepared for bridges between the tunnels where you will capture some amazing gorge views! In all I think we were in and out in under two hours.
These tunnels are majestic. You feel like walking through history. Initially, we thought the tunnels would be small. However, they are a few storeys high. There are 5 tunnels you walk through. There is a trail too. The river view along the tunnels and the trail is very beautiful. I am also uploading all the pictures we took. Please do read the history being the tunnels. They have important information on boards. There is no entry fee. Experience - 9
A flat 1km walk (to the end of the last tunnel) with stunning views of nature and impressive engineering. Highly recommended detouring from the highway to see. Note: a flashlight is handy to have.
An important history lesson, a loop trail to a viewpoint, a gorgeous running river and a large parking lot. Can't ask for anything more.
The best things in life are free and this site is no exception. Bring a flash light and a camera. You won't regret it.
Basically an easy and flat trail taking you through the tunnels. A pleasant stroll less than 1 hour.
What an Awesome place to visit. Last you truly understand how hard the simplest of travel was.. a must see
Very nice walk. 4 tunnels, 2 bridges and path through the forest. All flat trails, and the path is accessible by wheelchair.
A great place to explore for people who don't want to do hiking but need a place to picnic or day out. Amazing tunnels cared by hands with historical values. A Great walk through tunnel and adjacent river flowing through the trail to submerge with nature and history.
Great 30-45 min attraction just off the 1
Nice and cool in the tunnels with the roar of the rushing river in your hears.
Great place to visit! We wanted to take a break driving back from Kelowna and this place was surprisingly fun! The old train tunnels are great as are the breathtaking views on the river. Definitely recommend setting aside some time here to explore!
The place is absolutely stunning. They carved out these tunnels to build a railway line, back in the day, but I guess the project never saw the light at the end of the tunnel ????.
Easy access to the tunnels, only 1 km away from parking.
Amazing place to visit with friends and family incredibly beautiful Tunnels. There is a beautiful river . Must visit to experience the gorgeous nature beauty. Must go early to find good parking spot. Enjoy stay blessed ????
Fantastic views and fresh air. There are great spots to go explore
The tunnels are beautiful and the canyon was stunning
Amazing place that has a combination of natural beauty and human construction! Going through all five tunnels is like a surreal adventure and the beautiful views between each tunnel is breathtaking. The trail before and after the tunnels are also beautiful and easy to walk! Don’t miss this place if you are driving from Calgary to Vancouver. Parking is convenient but space is limited. Highly recommend!
This tunnel trail is worth the drive it is tranquil and thrilling all at the same time with cliffs rising vertical to stellar heights on one side and plummeting to staggering depths on the other. Where white waters rage over massive river …
This place was unreal. I don't even know how to explain how beautiful this is. Pictures do not do it justice! Do yourself a favor and get down there stat to experience it for yourself!
An extremely popular tourist attraction, and very impressive to see. Expect parking to be difficult, and expect your stopover to be at least an hour, probably closer to two. The main trail is wide and strong, it's the old railway tracks, after all. It is good to walk along even when it's busy. The tunnels are cool, the bridges are wild, and the landscape is amazing, both near and far. For those of us coming from Vancouver, stop in Hope for food. I'd suggest eating in the parking lot as there are no tables on the trails. --You will have to carry out all of your garbage from the trails, too, don't leave it behind!!!-- There are some outhouses where the trail meets the parking lot. They were pretty clean and not stinky; nicely maintained. I do love this park. Even with all the people here the amount of garbage is minimal, but even the small amount was fairly noticable. I do hope people act responsibly going forward.
Great place for a day trip but don't make the mistake of coming like I did on a holiday long weekend. You'll have to park a mile away and walk.
Cool place to chill and enjoy the unique environment. Recommend going around sunset for best viewing.
The tunnels were amazing; if your careful you can wander down the side trails down the cliff close to the lagoon just before the last tunnel. Further down the trail seems endless. Beautiful site, worth the visit.
Great place for a quick break on the highway. Beautiful and accessible trail through tunnels and over bridges. This is the route the Kettle Valley Railway took when it was built in 1913. A true marvel of engineering for it times, or even today! We stop all the time and never get bored of this beautiful trail and park. Enjoy!
Must visit location.!! Tunnels could get really dark so carry a torch or make sure your phone battery is good so you can use flashlight. Great experience.
Great spot to explore and spend a couple hours with friends or family.
Scenic, breathtaking. Good hike
Amazing sights to see. Great for exploring and rock hunting.
Great place to stop and check out. Stunning! Can only imagine the enormous amount of effort that went into to make these tunnels happen.
It was a great experience, even better then I expected heading out there. Nice short walk to view all four of the tunnles.
Great place to take family for a walk and spend time together especially on the weekends. Lots of fresh available and have to walk a bit around 1Km from the parking lot, but its worth it
Just an amazing place to visit and go for a hike. Parking lot is most of the time packed on hot summer days. So consider that you have to park a bit further away and walk to the tunnels. Beautiful views and spots for pictures.
So beautiful! The rushing water crashing on the rocks making them so smooth, with the dark tunnels and all the information along the way to read!
Open still as of Nov 13!
Such an easy trail with beautiful views. Nice little getaway from the city. Wish it was closer so that we can frequent it. Careful scaling the rocks to get to the riverm. The edges are pretty sharp.
Beautiful place with short hikes around and a stunning drive to Hope. Take a flashlight with you, as some tunnels are very dark! Strong currents in the waters around so swimming isn’t advisable - someone almost drowned and there were paramedics onsite.
Pristine, stunning and absolutely raw beauty awaits you here at Othello tunnels. An amazing hour and half drive from downtown. Icy raging waters and jaggerdy rocks make for a stunning scenery. The tunnels themselves are mesmerizing. Make sure to read about them before you enter, they will give you a new found respect for all the hard work the railroad engineers and construction workers put into making this a reality. Also don't miss the tunnel with the windows ! Absolutely delightful ????
A good walk with spectacular view! Good for all ages.
Great views of the river, good for family even with smaller kids. Great to walk as the trees keep shades during the hot summer days. But don't follow Google map's directions when driving, just follow signs once you are at Othello Road. Google map leads you to the highway and not the right location of the parking area.
The tunnels are a marvel of ingenuity when you consider the era in which they were built and the limited technology at their disposal.
The tunnels themselves are really cool! A must see if you’re visiting the area. Very dark though, at any time of day, so bring a light of some sort because the ground is not level walking through and could cause some serious issues for anyone especially if you have anyone with mobility issues in your party. There is also some water in the tunnels so I would suggest that you wear proper footwear and bring an umbrella if it suits you.
Great experience having to walk through the tunnels. Mainly flat and easy walk. It has big parking area.
Amazing views once you start walking through the tunnel. Walk is around a km, but its all worth the effort. The view of the Coquihalla canyon is extremely picturesque and breadth taking with blue waters. Some picnic tables also available.
Easy trail , trailhead near parking lot
Great place for a family walk/hike. The tunnels are amazing
One of my favorite Provincial Park in B.C. in Hope . No fee entry , there's portable toilet , ample free parking there's a picnic bench table right at the entry of the Tunnels , you'll find different sections of Tunnels & rails , gorges & raging water down beneath , perfect spring/ summer to visit. And most of all it was famous for the Rambo First Blood movie in the 80's by Sylvester Stallone
Went on a sunny Saturday and the place was very busy. We were really lucky to find the last parking spot. Did the trail anticlockwise which was the best way imho. Came back through the tunnels. Lots of people around but everyone was friendly and the atmosphere was pleasant.
Was an amazing adventure
Would recommend for sure, my husband and I really enjoyed the easy hike and you can walk for miles if you want. Beautiful!
