Absolutely Beautiful... worth every penny! My kids enjoyed a lot to.
What a weird and wonderful surprise this was. Have you got an hour or two to kill on your way across the island?! At first this appears to be a short nature walk, with a magnificent corkscrew look-out tower at the end. (Spectacular view.) But (!!!) the thrill-seekers in your group will have the bonus pleasure of testing their nerves at the top, walking across a net over the ten story drop. For a slightly less nerve-wracking challenge there’s also a spiral slide from top to bottom. Just sit on your blankie and go. OMG SO fun. Totally worth the entrance fee.
This is a nice attraction (or distraction) for families and groups to get outside and take a nice walk. You can view both US and Canadian islands in the distance. One major gripe I have is that you need to have a mandatory mat to ride the slide down which requires up to an hour wait to get one. Afterwards you still need to wait about half an hour to get onto the slide so you see many people standing around doing nothing. We had to forgo that option entirely because we didn't have time to wait around nor wanted to. The website should be much more clearer to describe this process. The staff were quite friendly and helpful, but I'm not sure if the $33 ticket price is justified for this experience.
A very good place to get a birds eye view (without actually flying). The walk up to it is very moderate, and even up the tree walk is a casual walk. Some very nice views from the top and the slide is fun on the way down ! The only downside is the price is a little more than I thought it would be.
While I can appreciate that this attraction took a lot of hard work and time, I don’t feel that the admission fee is fair for the experience. It’s a quick walk (15 min total) and the wait for the slide is very long and not worthwhile. The views are great but they’re no different from any viewpoint along the Malahat. $15 would be more reasonable in my opinion. On the other hand, the staff was very friendly.
Interesting structure. Very well made. Highway access requires a 5 km detour in both directions.
I took my parents here from Ontario, and it was nice. However if they are looking for repeat business, I'm not going. Once was enough, especially given the cost. I echo other sentiments where you can get a great view just up the road at the viewpoint, for free. Also the access off the highway is horrible. I couldn't see this place lasting long as is, but hey maybe there's enough tourist dough to last a while. As a local, I wouldn't go again. I wonder when they will get the first jumper?
Beautiful new adventure. Lovely no distraction views. And a lovely slide down to the ground.
Great view, family friendly layout. Unfortunately, it’s a bit overpriced for what it is, and lack of other attractions in the location.
A beautiful experience, and the best scenary I ever seen. The kids will have fun too, there is looking slide. Not to mention the walk on the suspended alley, in the forest.
The Malahat SkyWalk was fantastic! It’s was a little scary for the kids, but they had a great time. The slide was a blast, but make sure to keep those arms tucked in or you could end up with a nasty burn.
A wonderful addition to the Vancouver Island attractions! Amazing place to enjoy the beautiful scenery of the Saanich Inlet.
We came on a rainy day, because we were only visiting the island for the one day. Still, views were great, and it's a pretty cute walk through the trees to get to the structure. The slide was a fun idea - they give you a mat to sit on.
So much fun!!
A fun little adventure. They have a raised walkway all the way to the spiral viewing tower, which in itself was very nice. The highlight was definitely the slide you can take to get down, very entertaining. Bring a jacket it's very windy and chilly up there, and grab a coffee at the end at the coffee shop to warm up.
Very interesting and enjoyable place to visit. Seems a bit on the pricy side, but between the view, the slide and suspended walk-on net, and the impressive engineering, the cost seems completely justifiable. Will likely go again next time we are out to see how much it has changed.
Pretty awesome and would recommend. But worth $31? They're really stretching with that price... especially because if you want to ride the slide, it's at *least* an hour wait. We loved the raised board walk to the skywalk, and the skywalk was really exciting to explore! I'd suggest bringing a lunch that you can enjoy at the top, or one of the picnic tables below. Not sure if we will come back simply because it's a bit expensive for what you get.
This Malahat skywalk was absolutely amazing. I would recommend if you plan on going more than once or twice a year to buy the yearly pass. The views are spectacular The wildlife is absolutely beautiful. Lots of people going up and down the skywalk. Also there is a possible opportunity for you to slide down if you want to wait in additional lines aside from just getting in to the grounds. Most kids want to do the slide so be patient parents wait for them it's absolutely worth it. I would recommend upon getting there past the admission gate to go straight to the slide lineup if you want to take the slide.
A great tourist attraction. Lots of fun
Great outdoor walk. Gift shop has snacks as well as gifts. Full washroom facilities. Wheelchair accessible
A great attraction for the family.
This honeycomb structure let’s you walk through the clouds and provides an incredible view!
Very cool views along the boardwalk through the forest and on the spiral walk up the tower. Stunning views from the top of the tower, along with a couple of fun bonus experiences, including a net “floor” you can walk access, and a spiral slide. The walk (including up the tower) is very accessible for just about all ages and abilities. All climbs are very gradual. The attraction is not directly accessible from the north; you need to pass it and take a U-turn route to get going northbound again. This is sign-posted. Likewise, when finished with your visit, if you want to return to Victoria, you must first drive several minutes north to the next U-turn route. This is not well sign-posted.
This place is a MUST SEE. If you're from the island or just visiting, it's well worth the trip to the Malahat Summit and take in the Skywalk. Beautiful views of surrounding islands and the forest, and the trampoline at the top is definitely something to experience. The best part is the 65 foot spiral slide that takes you back to the base. Or you can walk back down if you like. Would 1000% recommend.
I was bored and thought I'd do something touristy and was pleasantly surprised by how amazing the view was up here. I was sad that the slide was closed the day I went due to the rain, but I still had an incredible experience
Had a great time at this place! The views are fantastic and it is definitely worth checking out. Thanks for making my day.
Fun couple of hours with great views of the Saanich Inlet and across to Gowlland Tod park. Cost $90 for a family of four. I felt it was worth it. Lots of people and families having outing, or stop off. The slide down was really popular.
Wow very well done..not environmentally invasive, first nation respectful, historically interesting ....beautiful in structure and vistas..with a genius slide ending that is totally fun..great experience for all ages
Very nice relaxing walk up. The slide down wakes you up ????. My 77yr. young old mom took the slide down! It's fun.
The Skywalk was an interesting experience. Overall, it was very positive. It was cool to see the Finlayson Arm from a different viewpoint. I hike in Gowlland Tod Park a lot, so it was nice to see the park as a whole. The facilities are good. Lots of areas to rest and contemplate the view. It's a very accessible attraction and was very popular with families and kids. If you want to take the slide down, you need to wait in one line to get a sliding mat, and then another line for the slide itself. It was busy during our visit and these lineups added at least an hour to our visit. It was a nice day and the slide is a unique experience, so it was worth the wait. I took a star off because there really is nothing else to do in that area (currently). I hope in the future there will be some nice hiking paths.
This is a must visit in Victoria. Definitely one of highlights from our trip. Very nice walk and Amazing view!!
This is a must visit in Victoria. Definitely one of highlights from our trip. Very nice walk and Amazing view!!
4/5, as it was pricy, busy, long line ups for the slide, and lacking exhibits or interactive displays for kids and adults. Would have been great to have a timelapse video of the construction, and description of design challenges, or construction challenges and how those were overcome. 4 stars since it is a great example of Engineering and Construction, and was fun to go up, see the great views. The line up to get the slide mats was probably 45 minutes, and another 45 minutes for the line up for the slide. Highly recommended if you're in the area though!
Such fun on the slide! Do arrive first thing in the morning or late afternoon (as they suggest), to avoid the long lineup for the sliding mats. At least we got in one slide and would have loved a second, but the queue was far too long. We three are aged late 60s and early 70s, and we screamed all the way down. :-D Best time I've had in 16 months (pandemic underway). Of course, the views from each level and the top are stupendous - on level with soaring birds of prey. A great day out! Note that if returning south, you need to drive north about 8 km to the U-turn route.
Was about 50/50 about stopping here when planning my trip, but very glad I did. The views were awesome, and I even saw a few orcas swimming below! Definitely worth the stop, so glad I did. :)
Beautiful scenery but for the one time cost of $30 per head. Quite pricey but way worth it for price of a year pass.
The view up there is spectacular!
Nice attraction. Nice relaxing walk to the Skywalk and a nice walk up the structure. The cargo net and the slide are both fun.
Amazing experience to Vancouver island. Must see if your in the area.
Have you seen that episode of the Simpsons where there is a giant elevator that leads to no where? This place is a lot like that, except you walk. Then you walk part way back, and then slide, and then walk again. Cool views and some fun stuff to do/see Would have given 5 stars but I dropped my water bottle in the port-a-potty. I guess that's their fault somehow. I had that dang bottle for like 4 years...
Loved it and great views. But not for those with a fear of heights
Great place to take the family and people from out of town. The only negative thing was the food trucks closed before the park does, so go early or you're going to miss out on some warm goodies and hot drinks.
It is really good place to spend a weekend with family. We enjoyed this adventure and our daughter was excited too.
If you’re a local, it’s one of those touristy things you have to do at least once. Great views after a light walk from the parking lot. Very accessible. Only thing to watch out for is leaving the site to get back into the highway can be tricky with limited space to merge. The only way to get back to Victoria afterwards is to drive away from the city for a few kilometers before you can turnaround. This section of three malahat can get very busy.
Overall experience was not 5 star. But considering the newly built and still building I could see in a couple of months it will be 5 stars ???? worth place.
It is a very nice stop to visit whale on Vancouver Island. Pros: very new and clean Spectacular view A nice walk on the net on the top ( not recommended for people who fear nights ). A nice walk on the elevated bridges Cons: Long wait at the slide - 90 minutes Limited options for food Suggestions Need more activities or shows
This is a fun day. Beautiful views all the way up. Anyone can do this walk at their own pace. Long waits for the slide, so we skipped it. The annual pass is worth it.
Great experience, the views are beautiful and the slide is super fun. Be prepared to wait at least 90 mins to go down the slide.
What an absolute blast!!!! This place is awesome especially on a sunny day! Going in late September means you miss all the line ups!
Beautiful views, amazing structure, and cool wood carvings.
The Skywalk was amazing! I went for a quick visit so I plan on returning to go down the slide, walk on the grounds at the bottom and explore the sights!
Great experience, beautiful views, really appreciate how they educate about the essential importance of nature as the foundation for life. We must move to sustainable existence, eg., doughnut economics, as first priority THEN economic growth, trade, etc.
Great fun for the whole family! Just make sure to get your carpet for the slide before you go up the tower.
As there is only the one attraction it is worth the visit once. Best to make it a family day out. There is room to do much more like a rock climb wall, a zip line, repelling or other. The view on a clear day is stunning to say the least. The slide is fast and short but exhilarating!!
Very nice view point with a slide!
We went here on a Sunday evening, we had bought tickets online. There was zero wait even though the main parking lot was full. There's a cafe/souvenir store at the front. You then walk on this wooden path up to the skywalk. The climb up is very easy and I didn't feel any strain even though I was pushing a stroller up. You can walk back down or slide down too. There is a line for the slide mats and you can do unlimited slides as long as you're okay to wait in line. The views from the top are absolutely amazing, especially towards the east. The net on which you can walk and look down is great too, but not advisable if you are afraid of heights. A couple of things to note - it does get windy on top so carry a light jacket. Also, the parking lot is not paved so there is dust you bring back into your car. It's definitely worth the single entry ticket price - though I may not buy an annual pass.
We went here on a Sunday evening, we had bought tickets online. There was zero wait even though the main parking lot was full. …
It was very cool ????
My family and I took our 74yr old father(in-law) to see the Malahat Skywalk and we all agree it was worth it! I hope the parking lots improve as they are a bit unorganized. The elevated walkway was very cool. Look for the hidden things in the woods! The bouncy cargo net at the top was a cool freaky surprise. The slide is a long line but super fun. I really think parents could have the option to go down the slide with their young child. I also think making the trail a woodchip trail is better than hard dusty dirt and tiny gravel. Also a cool restaurant would be a nice option as well similar to the top of Grouse Mtn. Otherwise it's just the tourist attraction the island needed!
Looks a lot like a construction site with a view. The tower provides a nice view, but not for $30 a head you can pull off a km up the road for an even better view. Aside from the view there isn't anything else going on. You can do better for free just about anywhere.
The architecture of the building is amazing to look at. Cool design and goes pretty high up, gives you a good view of the area. Would be good for family with children as the slide looked pretty fun. Nice little attraction to burn an hour or two.
New tourist attraction on Vancouver Island!
For a newly launched attraction this is an awesome experience. The slide is a bonus. Can see this growing rapidly into an activity centre, eg with zip lines, more First Nations interactions to make this an even better experience.
Great experience! Amazing views! Lovely walk through the trees to get to the skywalk.
I was travelling down island to do some shopping in Victoria and I see a sign on the other side of the highway for the Malahat Skywalk and promise myself to check it out on the was back. After finishing up in Victoria I drove up to the Skywalk and was surprised by the number of people checking it out on a Friday afternoon! There is a couple of large gravel parking lots within easy walking distance of the gate. When you get to the gat you'll be a little surprised by the admission fees. I know I was and considering the amount time spent there, a little caution to you if you wish to visit. So I get through the gate/cafe/gift shop building and discover there are two seperate routes to the Skywalk. A gravel trail which winds it way underneath the second route, which is the elevated walkway. Talk either one and its pretty cool to see the surroundings. The elevated walkway was some great photo opportunites along the way. Be prepared to walk! The distance is close to a kilometer to the base of the Skywalk. Also bring some water. The Skywalk is quite the construction. A sprial walkway on the outer edge has a very gradual incline for most people to easily navigate. As you get to the top there are some fantastic views! Just beautiful to take in. The top has an netted floor in one place for to walk out over the center of the Skywalk and a metal tube slide located 3/4's of the way up, which you need felt sliding board to slide down. While I didnt have much time to stay, the views alone are worth the price! If your counting steps for exercise would get easily top 6000 here lol! If you're fidgety with heights it might not be for you. Even thoguh it was a calm day the structure 'wobbled' a tiny bit. It would be cool to go up during a rain storm or if it was windy a little. Though I'm not sure if there are safety limitations when it comes to weather. It would be interesting! So checkout the latest attraction on Vancouver Island, you'll have fun, especially if you do the slide. Cheers.
What a beautiful structure with amazing views. I love the fact that this adventure is so accessible and it was so nice to see all ages enjoying themselves. Be careful down the slide because you will hurt yourself if you touch the sides. I don't think staff stressed this enough. I lost my balance in the slide and ended up cutting my hand trying to straighten out. I also found staff were not very interactive or friendly but I would recommend checking the Malahat Skywalk for the views :)
We love everything about malahat Skywalk. The only exception was the waiting time to use the slide. There was a long line up and we waited there for an hour. But after all of the waiting, the slide was horrific and fun! After the slide, there was the adventure net and it looks scary at first, but if you try to go on it, the moment you feel like you're on a trampoline but even better. Looking down from the adventure net, you are 10 stories high! From the top of the skywalk is a captivating view. The lake was spectacular!
Awesome experience. Built in just the right place for an amazing view! The wait for the slide is worth it. Lots of good information on all the signs too. Be prepared for a bit of walking to and from the parking lot!
The slide is amazing ! The nature is outstanding . Absolutely worth it !
Fun place to stop by, not many people if u stop by around 5.
It was our surprise of the day. The staff was A1 and the experience was great. We took amazing pictures and had a blast. The slide is a nice thing to do, even for the grownups.
Nice view, everytime visit there seems new view got to see snow ❄. Slide to bottom is awesome
Great new activity for the Island. The Skywalk is a very cool structure (with stunning views) and all the staff we dealt with were friendly and helpful.
Went on a sunny day, clear skies and it was beautiful. The slide down was so cool
It gets very busy around 11:30am, so for a nice time I suggest being there around 10am and going on the slide first. After touring around the spiral for about 30 mins, I could easily see someone waiting 30+ mins to go down the slide for 10 seconds. That being said, definitely the fastest slide I've been on, and pretty fun. The views are as expected, and the rope net is pretty sturdy. Overall recommended to go at least once, even at the $30 price tag
Great new attraction. Close to the malahat summit. The elevated walk way has a different view point and got lots of hidden animals you can find along the way (carvings and orange colored metal cuttings?). The structure has a 360 view of the Saanich inlet. The slide is fun and not just for kids. The adventure net at the top of the tower is sturdy and gives a good view below not for the feint of heart.
Loved it...except they should hand out the slide mats as you are getting on the slide. They gave us to them at the bottom forcing us to carry them while we explored .
This was a fun thing to do. Some people may trip on the wood panels walking in, not very even, though Cool structure, Beautiful views, and don't bail out on the slide, it's the best part! You pick up some serious speed.????????Best time to go is right before they open, when there's no slide line up.????????
This was a fantastic stop on the way to Victoria; 100% worth every dollar. The views are magnificent.
Very fun, try the slide! The line fir the slide was 90% seniors and they had a blast. Very accessible for all abilities. Look for the Sasquatch!
Loved it!! Just went last week...was able to JUST make it before the last ticket sale at 3:30pm. The area is so beautiful! the walkway to get to the scenic skywalk has it's own views as well. I am not great with heights but i managed to make it to the top. For the the brave visitors, i recommend the netting at the top (I was not a brave one). The slide back down was amazing! All the staff were super friendly and even coordinated to let my sister (waiting at the bottom) know when i was on the slide so she could get a video of me! It is pricey but i feel the price is well worth the visit...just wish i'd spent longer there! Highly recommend visiting!!
Cool experience. A bit pricy but it's a once in a lifetime touristy thing to do.
An excellent new venue added to Vancouver Island. A beautiful walk through the forest on a boardwalk that is nested high up in the tree canopies. The boardwalk has been built with a 5% grade that takes you on a long walk out to the edge of the mountain overlooking the Saanich Inlet. Once you have arrived at the base of the Skywalk you will start to climb the spiral staircase. The view is spectacular. The Skywalk towers over the Saanich Inlet and is built ~40 metres high. It offers a slide down through the middle of the venue for a fun ride down to the base of the tower. Be patient and prepared to wait in the spiral walkway for your turn. On the third day of being open visitor traffic was ~2000 people. Once you walk down the tower there is a nature trail back to the parking lot, or you can return to the entrance along the boardwalk through the treetop canopies. A small gift shop, cafe, and washrooms ard located at the base of the entrance, and mobile washrooms are located at the Skywalk. There is a scavenger hunt for children and unique art crafted wood figures of animals throughout the trees. The boardwalk can accommodate strollers and is accessible by wheelchair. There is a fair amount of walking and some with a mobility issue may encounter difficulty.
100% would recommend! The slide is the highlight of our visit :) check out the cafe too!
The last time I was on the island, I missed the opening of the Malahat Skywalk by a couple of days. I promised myself that the next time I was here, I’d visit. It didn’t disappoint. The Malahat Skywalk offers beautiful views of Mt. Baker, Finlayson Arm, the Saanich Peninsula, and the islands in two countries (US and Canada) - all from it’s awe inspiring islands viewing platform, which rests 250 meters above sea level. Sitting in the traditional territory of the Malahat First Nation, I appreciated how the Indigenous history, stories and culture were weaves into the experience. This immersive experience helps build and foster a connection with the natural beauty. Also important is it’s accessibility - for strollers, wheelchairs and such. Well done! The Adventure Net, which sits suspended across the tower, provides those not afraid of heights with a heart pumping experience. The Spiral Tower provides an exhilarating and speedy ride down a 20 metre slide. You can enjoy this thrill as many times as you wish. Bring your camera and capture the experience. Enjoy the restorative properties of this wonderful space.
The view of the sea from the top is absolutely stunning. If you want to try the slide, be prepared to line up and wait 40mins for the mat, and another 40mins for the slide. We got our mats, went to the top, and then took the slide to get back down. We only tried the slide once, some people may want to go more than once and that's totally fine ????
Yet to go there.. THEY ADMIT THAT THIS SKYWALK/TOURIST SPOT DOES HAVE AN IMPACT ON THE NATURAL HABITAT. WHY? WHY CANT THEY LEAVE THINGS ALONE. AT LEAST PREVENT ELEVATORS/AMENITIES TO MAKE IT URBAN! IT IS WILD. LEAVE IT ALONE.
Must visit place if you are visiting Victoria. 40 minutes drive from Victoria downtown, cafeteria available, get something to eat with you, costs approx $33 per person, 1hour 30 minutes average time you spend here. Beautiful view from the top, refreshing wind . Walking net is safe and fun.
Long lineup for the Slide.
Something to do for all ages - whether it’s sliding down the slide or just taking in the views without hiking hours. This is a fantastic new attraction in the area. I waited in total for about 15 mins for a mat and 45 mins to slide down the central slide. All in all a fun experience and watching people slide down was such a fun experience.
A great experience for our family to learn about nature, animal, the region and the Malahat Nation. Great views from the 10-storey wooden tower. Friendly staff with a lot of room for visitors to climb up and slide down with a backdrop of water, sky and tree-lined views.
Easy online purchase for tickets to avoid waiting in line at the entrance. The park itself has a nice board walk to wards the tower with some wood sculptures which are very fascinating with the workmanship. Coming towards the skywalk, you make your way up the tower in the spiral walk way. At the top, views are amazing. There’s also a net area to walk on, good for anyone. Below one level, you’re able to take the slide down to the bottom but FYI the line up was very long when I went and I opted to just walk down because people seemed to be waiting for a bit. The only reason I gave 4 stars is, I thought it was a bit pricey for the activity itself. This is great for tourist passing by but for a local I feel it would be more of a once in a while thing to do.
Cool place. Kids friendly. A bit overpriced. Overall nice place, spent about 90 min with three kids.
Epic views of the Saanich inlet. Plus all the hidden local art work is amazing. A 2.5km walk round trip from the guest house. Easy for wheelchairs or walkers.
Amazing place and view
Great fun for the whole family. A great walk, suitable for almost anyone. The spiral walk up was pleasant and well worth it for the view.
Beautiful walk through the forest followed by an easy climb where you are rewarded with spectacular views and even a whale spotting if you're lucky! The slide down to the bottom is thrilling! We also loved the hot chocolate, kids craft and warming up by the campfire after our slide. One note for management: you really need to apply your salt much more liberally to the walkway through the forest and the top of the skywalk. We wished we had worn our spikes to avoid the multiple death defying slip and fall situations we encountered.
Great attraction that shows off the beauty of the natural landscape of southern Vancouver Island offering stunning vista views of Finlayson Arm. The spiral walkway to the top is a gentle grade and we saw numerous parents with strollers enjoying the walk to the top. While we considered taking the slide down the line was huge and moving slowly. The only reason it did not get 5 stars was because of the tight people congestion on the walkway caused by people waiting in line for the slide. There was no social distancing and people were shoulder to shoulder trying to pass the line. I'm sure it's part of the growing pains of launching a new attraction and I suspect they will come up with better system to control the slide lineup so that there is more room for all.
Spectacular! Beautifully designed structure, and the whole thing is a wonderful experience. There was one thing that happened that was NOT great: At the very top, there is a rope mesh that you can walk out on, and look down the huge drop in the middle. Seems very safe, but terrifying none-the-less. My teenaged son and I walked out on it, very gingerly. At the same time another guy came out on it and was jumping a bit. It didn’t really bother me, but I certainly had no desire to jump up and down at all. At that point, an employee came out and rather sternly said to us all, “you actually shouldn’t be jumping, this isn’t really designed to withstand jumping”. OK, so: a). When I’m standing on a net over a 30 meter drop, I do not want to hear any sentance starting with “the net isn’t really designed to withstand…”. Poor choice of words! b). How about some actual signs? “Please do not jump on net”. Simple as that. You can probably get them printed up at Staples within the week. Clearly just a little oversight, but when you’re up that high and notice such a clear oversight, you wonder what other little oversights there may have been. Anyway, that was not ideal, but not enough to bump the review from a five down to a four, because really, it was amazing.
Awesome 360 view from the top. Amazing experience and love the slide and adventure net.
Enjoyed visiting this tower. They are probably still adding things but it was a fun day with great views, a nice walk and a fi min slide and bouncy net.
Spectacular spectacular !! Breathtaking. The slide was so much fun. Worth the trip here.
Overall, it was a pleasant experience, but at the same time, felt like a bit of a one trick pony. It also felt overpriced, as it was over $90 for 2 adults and 2 children. The tower itself was fun, although the wait for the slide was a bit much. The slide itself looks longer than it is, but is also quite calm. The views were fantastic, and the adventure net was interesting, although no jumping was allowed, much to our disappointment. To their credit, the staff were considerate and kind. In conclusion, it's a fun experience, but I wouldn't say its somewhere I'd go very often.
It was so fabulous! Really high and the view was incredible. The slide down was fun ????
Great love to visit. Very cool. Remember to try the slide down from top.
What an awesome experience!! The views are breathtaking ????
Lovely experience. Nice walk there, nothing too challenging. Beautiful view all around. Very long but expected 1-2 hour wait the few times we went (in the afternoon) to slide down fyi. There’s a little coffee/ice cream shop and washrooms on sight and a gift shop and cafe when you first arrive as well.
It was worth it. Do go down the slides atleast once.
Very nice attraction. It’s a beautiful walk on this wooden walkway, it’s pretty creaky but the scenery is spectacular. Once at the skywalk, you will see it spirals up and it’s not steep. I seen people on wheel chairs there. Once on top, the view will take your breath away. There is an area where it’s rope and you can walk on it and see down below. Also, if you don’t want to walk down the skywalk, you can take the slide. I did t go in because the line up was very long. Once you reach the bottom, you can take the dirt road back and that too is a nice scenic trail. It was easy to get here.
I would like to visit again in summer season.
The place look undoubtedly beautiful! The staff are nice! But you have to collect the pad from 2 nd floor to use the slider by staying in a huge queue! People who know this, they collect the pads and keep walking around for 2-3 hours and once they are done then they stay in a long queue up to slide down!! They could have make one queue to collect pad on the spot to where you are supposed to slide down from! I hope they fix this chaos! Another problem is not having any left turn! I guess thats a sacrifice we need to make to protect the nature.
New construction as of visit. Moderate crowds did not diminish enjoyment. Though, slide wait about 20 min. Local info offered. Incredible views. Requires about 90 min for a visit.
Nice place to go out on a evening walk with family and kids, recently opened. The views are extradionary and we all enjoyed the slide at the end, overall a nice experience.
Wow what a blast! Breathtaking views!! I think I had more fun taking the slide down than the kids. ** Coming from Duncan you have to take a U-Turn route and double back. ** Same story if you are heading to Victoria afterwards. ** Would have been 5 stars if it wasn't for the difficulty coming in and out.
Wonderful place to visit. Came on a Sunday (day 3 of grand opening) and the place was super packed with long lineups at the gate. Recommend bringing a mask to wear and lots of water to stay hydrated. Lost a star because there were no social distancing measures for the slide line up which turned my girls off (there was 1.5 hour wait to use the slide). I understand pandemic restrictions were relaxed but the crowds there were definitely non compliant with personal space and one would think a new attraction would use crowd control measures to ensure safety for all visitors and staff. Views at the peak were breathtaking and plenty of benches at the top. The 360° scenery would cause a trigger finger itch to any photographer, especially my boyfriend in this case. Hope the facilities have sorted recycling and other eco-friendly options as the operation expands. I will be bringing my parents and relatives in a month or so when the hype cools down a little. ???? There are day tickets but I find the annual passes being a better investment if you're local.
Great views, fun slide albeit long line. Awesome tree walk to the tower, don't miss the wooden animals sculptures along the way!
The views are awesome. The slide was fun, but the lineup was long. We waited about an hour. I deducted one star because of the price. And I think that they could make the slide more efficient if they had a light system like at the waterslides.
Beautiful views! Walk up to the top is a gradual slope. It was quite busy! An hour to take the slide down. It is a bit expensive for a family. $132 for three adults and one child.
Love the views, this was recently opened and I think it will become a main attraction very soon.
Magnificent views. This newest tourist attraction will delight anyone of any age. After visiting the top the slide to go out is a pleasant experience but only for young ones, Seniors beware. What a beautiful afternoon I had visiting with the grand children for the first time. Recommend it to everyone.
Really enjoyed this awesome family friendly place. All staff were incredibly nice and helpful. Only issue was getting in and leaving. You can't turn left out and even turning right there's no merge. Made things pretty difficult especially on a rainy day. Not there fault i guess but should work with the city to improve access from the malahat!
I strongly recommend to check out this place. Amazing views and a pleasant, calm, peaceful vibe around the area. Unique design of the building takes a minute to sync in. There’s a small sky walk on the top that is really fun to walk on. Try to simply walk on the net for the skywalk without looking down first and you’ll experience the goosebumps like never before. The slide from the top to the bottom is a deal breaker. If you go visit the place, make sure you come down through the slide! You can take the slide for as many number of times you want to!
I strongly recommend to check out this place. Amazing views and a pleasant, calm, peaceful vibe around the area. Unique design of the building takes a minute to sync in. There’s a small sky walk on the top that is really fun to walk on. Try …
A must visit new attraction in addition to your nanaimo trip.
Interesting attraction, great views with a slide part way up and an adventure net at the very top. Had Runkeeper on and from the toll entrance to the top and back is around 2km.
Amazing skywalk !!! You can enjoy the spectacular view from it and there is a slide from which you can come down and it’s a great fun.
Quite a unique experience . There is a progressively raised walkway starting :just after passing thru the visitor- center, eventually starting to take you on a multi spiral walkway to the top .The views as you Walk the spiral walkway all way to the top are magnificent,l, highly recommend putting this on your must- visit list . - also remember to stop in at Chemainus, wander the town, see mural painted on sides of many shops!!!
So grateful for this experience. Phenomenal views and the structure is safe and well built. My 3 year old daughter just loved it especially the net on top. Highly recommend going to the skywalk!!
This was a fun little experience. It's very well designed, clean and super easy. Wide open raised pathways and loads of information. The walk up is super easy, very gradual. Views are amazing! The slide down is super fun and a great way to end the tour!
Came here with friends. I would sum it up as a walk in the woods, except you head up to this spiral structure that gives you a breathtaking and splendid view of nature. And it comes with a huge spiralling slide that gets your inner child back down. So all in all, it's a fun place for the younger and not so younger kids to come and enjoy the outdoor view.
I am not one to be impressed. But this experience was fun for the whole family and got some of us out of our comfort zone and generally impressed me. The views were great and I would like to go again some time. I was a little hesitant at the price and the wait for the slide was a little much. Trying to turn back on the U Turn route is a bit of death trap. A few close calls in the 15 minutes it took us waiting to turn left.
Great to walk up And view is Gorgoeus Gotta try the slide
Place is totally brand new. Expect to wait 1 hour for 8 seconds slide. You will love the scenery as well. need to add more attractions. A little bit pricey as well created for tourists. Intreasting structure.
Wonderful attraction, wheelchair accessible and the spiral ramp to the top is so gradual it's effortless. You even have an option of taking a slide to the bottom(included in the admission price)
Not sure if it was an off day but the staff were super grumpy and not informative of the process of where to go once you arrive and what to do, etc. Pretty disappointing when most of us are tourists looking for information and whatnot. The experience itself was awesome, just the staff could have been nicer and approachable. The tickets did seem overpriced and I never got my email confirmation which was disappointing so I had to wait in line upon arrival for them to print it out for me which was pointless to buying them in advance.
A must see. The walk through the forest is gentle enough for almost anyone and the scenery is incredible. The Skywalk itself was also a gentle climb with views getting more spectacular as you go up. The slide down is very tame so do not be afraid to give it a try. A fantastic way to spend a few hours in the woods. Only downside was the lack of left turns into and out of the area. Be aware you will have to use the uturn areas at least once. Highly recommend ????
What a great place for a family day, the ramp is an easy one, even 80 yrs + goes down tye slide
The view is definitely breathtaking taking when you go up to the top. However since the admission is $31.95 per adult, you would want go down the super steep slide from near the top of the skywalk. The down side is that you need to wait for ~ 1 hour for 10 second ride!!! Plus if you have kids that are younger than 5 or shorter than 3.5 feet they can’t go down the slide. Good for people with no small kids. Anyways staffs were super helpful and accommodating :)
Truly amazing views, definitely a must visit. And the slide is a lot of fun and pretty fast, but expect long waiting times! A tip: if you are with someone, one of you should get in the lineup while the other goes to the top to enjoy the view...and then switch. It will safe a lot of waiting time!
Very nice attraction. Ignore all the sore people who review bomb just because they can't accommodate your dog. Maybe figure out a solution on your end. I guess I'll just review bomb the local swimming pool and steakhouse now because my furry friend can't attend... very western mindset
Unique and fun experience! The views were stunning and the walk up in the treetops was a very cool experience. The views at the top were beautiful and the Adventure net made for a fun time for everyone! There was an uncomfortable amount of swarms of bugs at the top but the rest of the walk up was great. The slide down was the highlight of it all, it was a blast to go down. Great for everyone as long as you’re 5 and up. Make sure to go on a day where it’s not raining because they close the slide those days because the mats stick to the slide when it’s wet. If you want to go super fast on the slide go later in the afternoon when it’s less humid. Overall, it was a fun and family friendly experience, and I would recommend going once to experience it. However, I give the place one less star for affordability as tickets are on the expensive side.
We arrived when they opened and bought our tickets ahead of time online. We skipped the ticket line and went straight up no waiting. We loved the views and only waited about 10 minutes to slide down. Had we arrived an hour later we would have waited way longer to slide down. If you don’t want to slide and buy your tickets ahead you shouldn’t have to wait for anything.
The MHSW was great little adventure. Lots of little details hidden away. Some of the best views around needs a bit more to do but hopefully that will come in time. But a very great and easy way to see some beautiful nature
The views are spectacular, and walking on a natural wooden boardwalk suspended among the trees is a very relaxing feeling. Lots of crowds currently because it's new, but the wait times aren't bad at all. Glad we purchased annual passes and can avoid the entry lines. Well worth the price. Be back soon!
Amazing views. Take the slide down.
Spectacular views and a lovely Cafe that offered delicious coffee, snacks and souvenirs. We weren't able to get on the slide though because of the long queue. There's two lines one on the first level for the mats then another at the top to go down.
Wonderful attraction! Our family had a great time. Not busy in the fall. Just too bad dogs aren’t allowed but that’s ok.
Nice view on top, love the slide
This is a wonderful tourism attraction. With stunning views at least 20km in nearly all directions from the top. We came mid week during the summer and there was an hour long wait for the slide. Totally worth it. There are minor logistical issues with the delivery of the mats required to use the slide but the staff were incredibly friendly and made the experience fun. There are still some things that could be added to the attraction, like information panels about wildlife on the walk back to the welcome centre but overall I think it was well done and will always encourage out of town guests to give it a visit!
A really fun way to take in the landscape. If you go on a sunny day after the rains you get an atmospheric walk through the tree tops followed by a gentle walk up to the top of the skywalk. Take in the wide expanses Victoria has to offer. Then get to the bottom at high speed on the slide down.
Needs another slide from the top to the bottom. Crazy lineups to get a mat then again to slide No bouncing on the top rope area was a let down. Great views from the top but similar views from the highway lookouts before and after the turn off. Needs more information boards about the trees you were walking through the tops of. No totems. Needs more information about the coastal tribes and indigenous people that have lived on the Island for thousands of years.
Scary good ;) A bit crowded, however that goes along with any new attraction. Excellent organization, enough parking spots, food stand and seating area is well maintained, washrooms clean, path to the Skywalk with information areas, and finally the main attraction awesome. My family and I enjoyed the view, however we didn't want to wait in line for the slide. Probably 1+ hour to wait around 11:30 AM on a Tuesday morning.
I went there on a cloudy December afternoon. View on top was spectacular. Staff were friendly and helpful.
Exceptional views 360 degrees. The slide was super fun and the adventure net on top is also fun and safe
Was a pretty cool experience! Well designed and convenient trail/path up. Wheelchair and stroller accessible with ease. Fun experience for all ages and especially kids. Definitely reccomend checking it out!
Thought it to be expensive for one visit by the end you may wish to take advantage & upgrade to season pass.
We went to this new attraction in BC that just opened on July 15, 2021. It's on the way from Victoria towards Nanaimo. Spectacular view from 32 meter viewing deck for 360 degree view over sea inlets and mountains; Fun experience for a family with kids and seniors. You can't miss the 20 meters spiral slide down from the top! It took us 1.5 hours because we spent lot of time taking the photo. I almost give it 5 star ????. It's just a little bit pricey.
We went on the opening day! They did a great job and the employees where very helpful and looked happy to be there. I do think next year they might want to have a special locals rate? Because it is kinda expensive.
Beautiful elevated walkway through the forest and viewing platform.
Wow! What a great experience. The tower is an incredible walk and the slide would be a whole lot of fun if there hadn't been such a long wait time. Even without the slide I would plan on 2 hours to do the walk. The view from the top is a delight in every direction and if I lived around here I would get an annual pass.
Wonderful experience especially because of the first Nations employee here and the slide is really fun
Really nice view as you walk up. Very easy walk up with the ramp and a nice walk through the tree tops before reaching the building. If you want to take the slide down make sure you go there early before closing time because there is a long line.
Beautiful place that I would recommend to visit once. Even my friend has a annual pass for this place. Very windy and cold on top though.
A fun family adventure! Great views, a fun net for people to walk on and look down towards the bottom of the tower. There’s even a slide you can go down from the top of the tower, for people 5 years+ or 42’ tall. A nice boardwalk to and from the tower, too.
I am sorry that my family could not appreciate this wonderful attraction due to the large number of people and the poor organisation of issuing mats for sliding. The lucky ones who received the mats just simply walked with them in their hands on the upper tier. While those wishing to sliding, and we were forced to stand in a huge line. We gave up after standing in line for 40 minutes, which practically did not move. I can't imagine how much time you need to spend to go 1.5 laps.
Excellent construction. Beautiful views. Easy walking. Safe but scary wire net at the top, but best thing was the slide down. Worth the money to visit this venue
Great activity for the family, but understand that the wait for the slide was about 1.5 hrs. The slide itself was 12secs long.
Beautiful views, although for what it is, I found it to be a bit overpriced.
Really neat attraction found just off the Malahat Highway. The structure is very striking. The views were awesome and the slide to get back down was fun, even as an adult!
It is a nice place to visit half an hour drive from downtown Victoria. The views are nice but the whole experience is nothing extraordinary. You walk up a spiral ramp and could come down using a slide - I believe it’s overpriced and overrated ($87 for 2 adults and a child) - The waiting time for the slide is not really worth it - There’s no social distancing in the slide line up
Great fun, beautiful views
We had a very enjoyable time. There seemed to be something for everyone to enjoy there and the views we're breathtaking.
Spectacular views and a decent slide. The skywalk path was a nice prelude to ascending the actual Skywalk structure. The quick slide down ends the experience with a positive note. Expensive but worth doing at least once.
Fully accessible, this brand new attraction offers unparalleled views of the peninsula. Between the art, the adventure net, the slide and the vistas; this is an excellent 2 hr adventure for the whole family.
It’s great! The spiral tower, amazing views and a bouncing net right on the top! The slide is nice and the waiting time was just 40 min - considering that we came in a sunny weather and there were quiet a lot of visitors.
A must visit place. simply loved it. best views to capture pictures. will visit again for sure.
This is an accessible place unless it’s a cool crisp and frosty morning. Just a heads up if you come here on a rainy, frosty day and walk with crutches or canes or even pushing someone in a wheelchair you will slip. I walk with crutches and even before the incline started I found the wooden walkway to be slippery and the metal anti-slip grates were just as bad. They do provide free wheelchairs, but the person pushing you better have some good anti-slip boots/shoes The staff did put salt down, but I guess their limited to how much they can use as it will go through the cracks of the wood. We did make it to the top and it was a beautiful experience. The staff did what they could to accommodating and hospitable. After a crispy cool morning it was nice to have a hot cup of tea at the end. I would offer more souvenirs that has the walkway structure on it ie magnets, hats, sweaters We had a great time for the most part, it’s one of those been there done that kinda places.
Our family had a great time, we enjoyed the cafe, the skywalk, the slide and the jungle net at the top.
What an amazing structure! A great view of the coast. A must see. Terrible entrance and exit. You really have to plan how to get back to where you come from. I think the fee is too steep for some people.
A brand new outdoor attraction Malahat Skywalk, a ten-story all-weather spiral walkway bridges, the ceiling is covered with a double rope nets to test whether visitors have the courage to cross and fall. Also, there is a slide that returns to the world in less than 10 seconds ????
Loved it. The walk is pretty easy but very long. It is high up and on a good day, one can see far. Bwautiful. Note... get your mat first try to get there early, like opening. Carry your mat and take your time. When you're ready, you'll have your mat already for the shorter line at the slide.
New spiral skywalk. It was a good stop on the way to Port Renfrew. The park has plenty of parking available. You can pre-purchase tickets to save time. There is a large boardwalk leading to the actual spiral skywalk. Theres bathrooms, water fountains, and a small cafe there too. The slide down had a long lineup so we skipped it, but it’s an option for getting down quickly if you’re willing to wait in line.
What a cool place to visit ! The construction alone is worth seeing. And the view up top, WOW! We had a clear sunny day and were able to see My Baker. The view is spectacular. Enjoyed the walk to and from the skywalk. Definitely would go ahead. You might want to bundle up this time of the year, was a lil chilly.
I don't forsee myself going here more than once in my lifetime as local. Indeed a great experience, but there are quite a few mountains that can hike a similar view. The modern structure and slide is nice giving a natural modern feel
An Amazing structure sits above Salish sea upon Malahat Nation territory. Was blessed recently to have been, the walk and views are Zen amazing, refreshing slight breeze at the top when we were their. Great place as well to watch amazing brids of prey!, bring some binoculars if you have them you will see many! Of course bring water and a snacky. Cannot wait to go again. 30 min drive from Victoria BC
What a fantastic Pacific Northwest experience! Breathtaking views, and the most memorable part is the smell of the forest. Words cannot describe the magic when you're there. A must do!
Fun Family activity. Only drawback is having to backtrack heading in to Victoria.
Nice walk, beautiful views, and easy to go up and down.
Amazing views! The TreeWalk is an easy walk high in the forest along a sturdy boardwalk. The spiral tower is also very accessible as the wide ramp winds as a gradual incline. When I visited there were wheelchairs and strollers in use and visitors of all ages enjoying this attractions. I'm so happy I purchased a seasons pass! Lots of good parking, the washrooms were very clean. I planned my visit to end with me enjoying a coffee sitting on the beautiful patio so I was VERY disappointed that at 5:15 I was told the cafe was already closed. I'm sure I'm not the only person that would appreciate enjoying the full facilities until closing time (6 pm).
Worth the money, lots of fun and good views
nice view for tour
Taking the slide down was a lot of fun!
The views from the top of the Skywalk were gorgeous. The walk up was easy and fun. Some shade on the top level would have been nice on such a hot day. We were disappointed by the way the slide was being managed. There was a half hour wait to get a mat to slide down on and then another half hour wait to actually slide down. We passed, but were disappointed to do so!
Amazing stop! Was easy for everyone in our party. My husband has had knee replacement surgery. My Dad is in his 60s. And there were all sorts of elderly people at the top. The views were awe-some!! Highly recommend ????Bring a sweater for the wind. But don't worry it dies down at the top. And definitely take the slide-totally worth the wait. Everyone loved it!
Very touristic but still fun to do. The views from the top are amazing !!! Not sure why people are willing to stay in line for a short slide ???? great for photo ops
The facility is nice, the walk is interesting, the cost was a bit much for what is there in my opinion.
Excellent adventure; my partner and I had a great time today. Drove from Victoria in about 35 mins and no issues with parking. Staff there to guide where to park and parking lot is close by. Enjoyed the treewalk; nice and pleasant walk to the Skywalk. Walked around the Skywalk and took in the breathtaking 360 views. Once we were at the top, staff member Nadia took some really nice pictures of us and others. She was great; engaging and professional. Nadia is a Rockstar! To get down, we took loved it! Once down, we went up again ????. Overall a great, accessible adventure for everyone regardless of skill, age or ability.
A lot of fun! Definitely a place to bring the kids. Amazing views and fun little facts about the local area, wildlife, and the regions surrounding the area. It's nice to see something local that acknowledges the Aboriginal history. Also, with the structure being wood, it was pretty nice to see they had fire extinguishers placed here and there. Just a little something I'm glad the builders added in because I don't see that too often with other tourist attractions (or at least notice it).
First time here since it opened and I am pleased, the view and the slide. Let me tell you. The slide is fun and the staff are very friendly. I'll be coming back again soon and would recommend it to visitors and tourists as well.
Amazing view! Easy to follow directions to get to Malahat, the staff are nice. May be a bit expensive for the entrance fee so make sure to enjoy the view and slide tons down the high speed tunnel!
Amazing experience, accessible for eveyone, has a fun net at the top you can run on and a slide to go down as well. Definitely a must see
Definitely worth the visit, amazing views and the slide was really fun. I would suggest to line up early since it builds up fast
My family and I had the best day here, the skywalk was the absolute highlight of our Vancouver Island Vacation. Days into opening and everything was running smoothly. There was an issue with the slide but they were doing their best and offering revisits to anyone unable to use it if they had to eventually close it. They didn’t end up closing it but unfortunately because of the issues the line up was just too long for us so we didn’t get to enjoy it. That being said we had a lot of fun, took a ton of pictures/videos and really soaked in the beautiful views.
Amazing area, nice little hike, fantastic views, and a slide down! But if you want to use the slide get there early or be prepared to wait, when we were there it was over a 2hr wait.
Beautiful views. Lovely walk. However we asked when we went in that although entry closes at 5, it was open until 6pm. At 5:25 we were still waiting in line for the slide and then told that they were only sending down 25 more people. Poor communication regarding last time for the slide, a number of people were unable to go. Seems like something that we should have been informed about on the way in or on the way up the walk. Disappointed, the kids were in tears. UPDATE: This business has EXCELLENT customer service. They were prompt in contacting me and addressing my concerns. I am looking forward to going back with family!
I have a cold, cynical heart, and so was quite prepared to be underwhelmed. It was so great!! From the tree top walk to the tower, to being up at the top, it was fantastic! I'll go back another time to do the slide - the line was long - but I will DEFINETLY be back!!
A simple and beautiful walk and view! Easy accessibility for everyone of all ages and abilities. There's fun additions to the view, a net to bounce and walk on and a slide on the way down! (There is a height restriction for the slide). There is a small cafe available, so if You're into it, it makes a great morning walk. Only downside is that it costs money to entre, but I think it's totally worth it for the annual pass. Bonus, it's not too far away for locals
Nice place to go when u are at Victoria. The slide is so much fun.
If you’re a local, avoid at all costs. This is nothing but a cash grab. We went in thinking it would be a educational experience and that we would learn about the land and it’s ancestry. All it is, is a view from the top and a very mismanaged attraction. The board walk has views of chopped up trees and a bunch of porta potties. The infamous slide had a 1.5 hour wait and the place itself is nothing but a stroll through a park, for which they charge you $35!! Do yourselves a favour, hike up the mountains and enjoy the same view with some peace and quiet. Our island has amazing views you can enjoy without paying the money hungry capitalists $$ to walk through nature.
Nice place to visit. Definitely worth it. Good to know that it's not pet friendly.
Fun ride... absolutely gorgeous views!!!
Fun way to spend an hour or two. Great views from the top and lots to learn. The slide is not just for kids! ????. Previous complaints about no dogs allowed are ridiculous. Go find a park.
Oh wow, we will be back, will get seasons pass. What a great spot to get your steps in for the day! Didn't get to check out the Cafe yet, but there's beautiful local artist's work for sale, and other do-dads! nom nom. This place is gorgeous, go check it out!
Neat attraction with great views of the straits. Wheelchair accessible and kid friendly! Worth a stop if on a road trip on the island. Access from the highway is difficult if you are not heading North out of Victoria. If heading South into Victoria you have to drive past the skywalk for a couple kilometers to find a place to turn around to access the skywalk. Leaving is the same issue if you are headed to Victoria - you must head several kilometers the wrong way before turning around. Understandable that this is beyond their control but is frustrating and could be very challenging in heavy traffic.
This was amazing! The views were soo incredible. The walk up was not nearly as scary or long as I expected, my 10 year old and 6 year old did it happily. If I lived near I would have an annual pass just to go walk up and take in the beauty out there. Totally worth it.
Great Skywalk with a raised hiking trail, beautiful views, and a slide to get back down more quickly. Really good!
Excellent place to visit and take in the breathtaking views. We enjoyed the slide down - don't forget to pick up a mat on the way up! Overall, worthwhile adventure. Hopefully, they add more attractions nearby, as it seems like the land is well-suited for extra fun!
Cool roadside attraction! 2 min off the highway and a 15 min walk down a wooden deck bring you to the best lookout on the South Island. The line for the slide can get really long so come early if you can.
Fun and exciting boardwalk????for evryone with the slide for adrenaline rush????
A simple and beautiful walk and view! Accessible to wheelchairs and strollers which is fabulous........ the views walking up are a photographer's dream....amazing ....fun additions to the view, a net to bounce and walk on and a slide on the way down! Its a must go to.... I'll be getting my membership next time
Interesting architecture, but the day pass is way too expensive
A really amazing attraction for both local and tourist sight seekers. It is a decent walk to the top, but the journey is worth it. Once you are at the top the view is amazing and there is a neat net walk area. Also the slide is killer! Well worth the wait. There is a neat little cafe which has food, drink and various clothing and momento items to purchase.
An amazing place and very well done! Highly recommend it! One future idea may be to figure out route to highway heading to Victoria or plan to visit on trip up island. Wonderful place!
High recommended to visit in victoria bc
Absolutely gorgeous view, and very accessible walkway. I went on the opening weekend and there were absolutely no signs about social distancing or wearing a mask. It felt like the company just didn’t care about the pandemic. None of the employees were wearing a mask. I took off 2 stars for this because I think that this callous attitude is very irresponsible. I hope that they fix this for future visitors. Whether you like it or not, we’re still in a pandemic.
What a fun experience! All the paths and the entire structure is made of solid wood as well as some cute wooden carvings along the walk. Amazing views along the elevated walkway to the skywalk and even more amazing views at the top. Slide down the structure is great and there was a warm campfire at the bottom to great you. So glad we decided to try it
Amazing structure and views like none other. It is an easy walk which we were glad to see for guests that may have mobility issues.
Fantastic place to check out spectacular views you'd only see by accessing the facility. Pricing was a little high but not too bad. Incredible walk up the spiral path, too much fun on the huge slide and the adventure net is a visual and balance sensory experience for sure! Informative plaques throughout the walk and creative tree root carvings decorate the path as you walk through the grounds. Definitely a place to check out as a tourist!
Awesome slide at the top. Perfect for kids and adults. Recommend coming early to beat the line ups though.
Please include souvenir magnets with the name Malahat Skywalk and the location in your merchandise in the gift shop. My family and friends would ask for that souvenir magnets. Thanks for your utmost attention on this matter.
We have a seasons pass and in half a year used it seven times. Definitely worth the visit and the views. The staff is pretty awesome and make every experience unique.
We really enjoyed the views. The net was kinda scary, but fun at the same time. Only thing I would recommend is a sign when leaving on how to get back to Victoria and far the u-turn location is.
We have a fun experience walking along the bridge to the skywalk and the slide.
I thought we wouldnt like this place so much.. i was dead wrong ???? it was a lot of fun. My son wanted to go twice. You can go as many times as you want, but at peak hours it can get pretty busy. Even my parents enjoyed the rides
A fantastic day! Breathtaking views !
Great walk through the treetops on the elevated walkway to the tower. It's easy for all ages- about 1.4km round trip, with a scavenger hunt to keep the kiddos occupied along the way. We visited on a Thursday and there was a long line-up for the slide so we skipped that. I'm local and will likely return in the off season. Lots of parking options, but for some reason not dog friendly.
Wow it is everything and more. Scenery breathtaking. Slide down a hoot even for us oldies. Easy push up with wheelchair too. No elevator but didn't matter.
Wonderful visit with my girls, amazing structure on beautiful landscape. And the views........wow
$100 for a viewpoint for 2 adults and 1 child. Probably the most expensive view point in the world. Save your money and stop at the free viewpoint right before or the free one right after, the view is even better from those points. I was expecting there to be at least something other than a walkway and a slide (with a wait of over 2 hours to go down once). Save your money and do something more thrilling! Definitely does not deserve all these 5 star reviews.
Remember to pickup your sliding mat before heading up. A total of 90 minutes queue for a 7-second slide. Keep your elbows in to avoid injury. Adrenaline rush. Recommend a visit.
Went on a Thursday at 4pm and it was decently quiet! Only waited about 10 minutes for the slide. The views are amazing and the staff are all very friendly.
Very fun experience with family. Must try the slide
Breathtaking views at the top! Easy walking incline for all ages .. Great photo op .. Thrilling net walk at the top ???? .. You have to do the slide on the way down .. All ages were loving this!!! Lots of laughing & screaming .. Fun to feel like a kid again .. Washrooms & food available .. Little gift shop .. Highly recommend this stop along the highway ???? ????
Well constructed. Walk was easy but not for someone with COPD. They have orange metal cutouts of animals to look for on the walk.
Wonderful new addition to Vancouver Island attractions! Parking is ample, washrooms, gift shop and restaurant available beside check in. Reasonable entry fee as you can stay as long as you want and there are no add on fees for the slide or parking. Gentle grade for walking up or for pushing a stroller or wheelchair. Impressive architecture and engineering. Fabulous views from all levels and locations. The slide is fast but with a gentle exit. The only drawback is access from the North means you have to drive past to a turn around location. The same situation if you want to exit south- you have to drive north to a turnaround location. Despite this inconvenience, it’s a perfect island attraction!
My wife and I took our 6 year old granddaughter and had a great time. My wife's screams of fun were sufficient to get her featured as CHEK's smile of the Day Tuesday October 5th
Loved it..accesible for wheelchairs, spectacular views, lovely walk up and even with alot of people there was still lots of room and didnt feel over crowded. Great way to spend a few hours.
Beautiful walk and views. A couple points we wished we knew earlier: If you come on the weekend it's minimum 1.5 hour wait for the slide down, and kids under 5 or under 42 inches are not allowed on. Improvement suggestion for the future, consider adding a series of smaller slides from platform to platform so all ages can play. Will also help alleviate the traffic from the big slide.
Must have experience
I think they missed the mark with the Malahat Skywalk. If celebrating the West Coast is the goal, a slide with insanely long waits simply forces families to hang in lines so their children get the chance to go down a slide (it was 2 hrs of wait time on a Monday morning). More pathways into nature and nets over the canopies and areas to explore would have been better design ideas. Overpriced. We are locals and will not be returning...
It was a cloudy and wet morning when we visited so the views were obscured by thick clouds and fog. But that didn't take away the great experience that was had on the boardwalk and the wonderful trees that were there. I like heights so that walkable net there was really fun. I would want to go again when the skies are clear.
Nice place to visit. Best view from the top ♥️. These pics are GoPro shots ????. Great Experience.
Really cool view. The slide was faster than expected which was a bonus. It's not cheap, but definitely worth checking out!
My 10 year old son and I went on it for the 1st time. Was quite spectacular! Nice long boardwalk up to it and then around and around we went up 10 stories to the top. Great view; accessible for people in walkers and wheelchairs too. Great pictures
Amazing view! If you want to go on the side, better come early or you'll be waiting a very long time...
Newly opened on July 15, this place offers breathtaking views. The staff is extremely friendly and they also have a slide that goes 7 floors below. A mesh-net on the top level (level 10) if you’re feeling a little adventurous to jump on. Would definitely recommend if you’re visiting Victoria. Views are 100/10
This is a great place to spend time with friends and family from the age of 2 to 94 ????. Worth the money and the time. The staff is supper nice and friendly. The views are amazing and the buzz you feel after the tube slide is undescribable. Worts going again and again to this beautiful tower, to enjoy it and the nature surrounding it. We left with a big smile on our faces.

Worth the 30 dollars it costs to go on the skywalk. The walking path could be a bit higher but the tower was amazing. The view is like no other
We visited Malahat skywalk on our vacation to BC and absolutely loved it! Amazing place with beautiful views and a very fun way down! The only disappointment was our coffee order in the cafe: we ordered a cappuccino that almost didn’t have a shot of coffee in it. Cafe mocha was made with chocolate milk which was very weird. We hope coffee making will improve at this cute location.
I saw this place on TikTok and it instantly became a must see attraction for us. We are so happy to have had the opportunity to visit. Tickets weren't cheap, but all three of our kids were 5 and under (=free admission for them). The skywalk is actually stroller and wheelchair accessible. There were very long lines for the slide, so we didn't get to try that on this trip. Min age and height requirements for the slide were also quite high. The views were exceptional and it felt amazing to be up there. The rope floor was very cool! Bring your camera!
This is one tourist attraction that one should experience at least once. The view is amazing. A wonderful walk all the way to the top that had us in awe. My wife did go down the tube instead of walking all the way down. Even though it scared her abit she does recommend others to try it.
Very beautiful views once at the top. Beautiful walk along the high walkway to the tower. Then was able to walk back ground level for more scenery. A must stop when in the area.
My family visited the Sky Walk in mid August, soon after it opened. The staff was very friendly and helpful. The site is beautiful and the view is stunning. The tower is very cool looking and the walk up is smooth and easy. We were all disappointed that slide had a one hour wait. It would have been helpful to have the wait time posted at the front gate so that patrons could better plan their visit. We might have changed our minds about going in if we had known it was such a long wait. You must stand in line while you wait; there’s nowhere to sit. They had very loud pop music playing near the base of the slide and we felt like it detracted from the beauty around us. There’s no need to hype up a setting like that with Cindy Lauper tunes. My biggest complaint was the missed opportunity for education and reconciliation. My brief google search told me that the Malahat Tribes are a partner in the project, but there is hardly any mention of the historical or cultural significance of this place to the indigenous people of this region. I didn’t see an acknowledgment of the land at the front gate. I didn’t see any signage in the traditional language. None of the art was credited and none of it seemed to be by local indigenous artists. I was hoping to learn about the all of that, but I left disappointed. It was an expensive excursion and we’re glad we went, but we won’t visit again.
If you’re in Malahat or in Victoria I think this place is definitely worth visiting. Kids and us adults as well had so much fun sliding down the slide. Just make sure to wear long sleeves or pants if you want to avoid friction burn when you’re coming down the slide. The view is beautiful and when you get to the top you can also try walking on this net where you can see all the way down if you dare lol.
Highly recommend you give this a try! The walkway amongst the tree tops is a very cool part I didn't know about. The height of the structure and slide was daunting to my wife but she went thru with it and is so glad she did. Great picture taking, exercise, and experience. I do suggest you take a membership your first visit if this place is accessible to you.
This is an enjoyable way to spend an afternoon. Bring warm clothes as it can get windy. The adventure net and the giant slide were both good fun.
Well... If you drive all that way to do the skywalk you might as well wait the hour for the slide! No need to complain, there is such an amazing view while you wait! We had a lot of fun and were there for a few hours!
Great experience. Nice easy walk and great view. The lineup for the slide is quite long though.
It's such a nice walk to the top. The view is spectacular. A must visit if you're in Victoria.
It's a little pricy. And waiting for the slide might take an hour depending on how busy it is.
Awesome!! The walk was really easy, only a slight incline. Definitely bring a windbreaker jacket as it does get windy at the top. Views were amazing as we went on a sunny day. Full send on the slide!! Woohoo
It was good place to go. Stunning and wonderful view! Tower was easy to access. It was fun for slide from upper part of tower to ground. There were pretty long line up for having mats and taking slide. But it was worth it!
Value for money, good option for kids, drive-physical activity (walk)- fun ( trampoline and slide)- picnic — all in one trip. Will surely recommend and visit again. Suggestion - we did not see any drinking water point, there was a cafe to buy, but should have couple drinking water spots, although carrying your own water is always better ????
I am sorry to say the cost was way to high for the experience. $35 and change for a small walk. The line up for the slide was very long and i would not call it busy. When it gets busy thats going to suck. Getting in and out was not thought out well enough. I know things are tough right now, but the cost was sad. The staff was amazing.
Amazing addition to the stunning views of the Saanich Peninsula. I hope to see more cultural exhibits and Indigenous History / Visitor Centre etc . Have an annual pass which is well worth the $
Go first thing once it opens as it gets busy to experience slide multiple times- especially if you have school age children. Great stroll down to skywalk and lookout from above is stunning. Takes about 90 mins to fully enjoy.
Lovely place for families, small kids, and older folks. I took my 80+ year old grandmother and she loved it! Stunning view from the top and slide for people wanting a quick way down. The line up for the slide became very long so I recommend getting there early.
Awesome in both the summer and the winter. Beautiful views. Nice little walk. The slide was fun to go down too. They've added a fire pit and a couple food trucks at the bottom. Great experience.
So beautiful and spectacular view! I love so much!
Didn't feel the love for this place . Not sure why it's so expensive but it is what it is . Ended up with a massive bruise from the coat hook on the restroom door . The walkway to the tower is pretty uneven as well someone fell and had to be taken out via wheel chair . The ramp itself is exactly that a ramp that over looks some pretty nice scenery but it seems fairly repetitive from bottom. To top . Didn't try the slide as the lineup and wait wasnt worth it .
Simple design, big impact. Excelent workout going up. Beautiful view from the top. Wonderful slide going down. Again soon.
Amazing structure within the islands of Canada. Easy walk for all and very accessible to those with altered mobility. Beautiful views. Loved it!
I quite liked this place that is set out amongst nature. Be sure to look in the trees for some carved animals. Another tip is if you want to do the slide down, like up right away for the mat you need to slide down with. Some people got their mats and continued up to the top and then made their way down to the starting point of the slide and others line myself did the slide right away and then went back up again to take my time to enjoy the view and slowly walk back down. The slide lasts like 3 seconds down but it was fun to do once. It was a nice set up and enjoyed my time there. Go as soon as it opens as it may get busy and the line up for the mats are long and it is easy to purchase the tickets ahead of time so you can walk right in. The tickets are general admission with no date and it is good for one year, so if it is a rainy day, you can go another day. So that is handy.
Thrilling, spectacular attraction. Mind blowing views of Saanich inlet and Finlayson arm at the top viewing platform of this spiral tower walkway. Easily access by children, old, and wheelchaired people
Very unique. The "trampoline" is not for the faint of heart. The slide is super fun. It is very busy now so we had to wait about an hour for a slide of 20s, but it was fun. Fabulous views. The skywalk is very nice too. Quite high up
Awesome views and fun slide on the way down. The net at the top is a must to walk on and look down. Not for the faint of heart.
Went here last Saturday and even though I have heard a ton of complaints about the price of admission, I think it is well worth it! Super fun experience and amazing views. The walk to the skywalk is breathtaking and once you get on the skywalk it just gets better! There is a little bouncy rope floor up top...I did walk on it and got little butterflies in my stomach! But you don't have to go on it. And the slide is cool!!!! I spent about 1.5 hours there.
Splendid views - but wait times of 90 min in total for the slide. Not worth the wait. Also, very complicated to get back to Victoria- not sure what the developers thought infrastructure-wise when building this major attraction.
Super friendly staff and beautiful in the morning! This place will always be so special to me, such an unreal space. Go down the slide at least twice!
I liked it - great views, the slide to the bottom has lineups that are prohibitive for many. It isn't spectacular but it is pretty cool and the construction is interesting! There is a walkway to get there that is treetop height (well, not far off). And the main structure is enclosed but open to the air and quite nice! They also have a minimal but quite nice restaurant. I would take people there as an attraction.
Stunning views. Recommend that you buy your tickets online and go first thing. We went on a Monday and we were able to ride the slide 4 times. Slide is fast and it seemed to get faster by the 4th run. The longest wait for a mat was about 10 minutes. We went on a fairly windy day so the building swayed, that for me was the scariest part. If you are afraid of heights you will not like the top level but again the view is beautiful so worth it. The adventure net looked fun and many people were brave enough to walk it. A must do while visiting the island.
Can't say enough about this amazing place. Everyone should visit it. A wonder from to first walk to the slide down. It was a blast
Super! When we went there was fog everywhere and we could not see, but we had the whole place just for us ! Our son loved running up and down the tower and you feel like you’re in a cloud ! Let’s also shout out to the amazing staff! We will definitely come back next summer !
Absolutely loved this place, the walk on the elevated platform is about 15 minutes and you arrive at the Skywalk structure which is a really cool west coast design. The walk up is easy, take your time and drink in the views all the way up. The views at the top are outstanding and we stayed there for about 30 minutes taking lots of pictures and enjoying watching the people. Everyone seemed to be loving it. I am recommending this place as a must see to anyone who goes to the island!
Great place to see during our annual visit to the island! A little chilly though this time of year
Well done, enjoyed the walk.
Great tourist attraction. Great views and forest walk on the raised platform. Worth the price of admission. Be aware you can only access the attraction from northbound on the No. 1 hwy. Southbound travellers will need to go past the entrance to an available U-turn route.
Parents of toddlers beware! You and your toddler will likely be very disappointed by the Malahat Skywalk. I travelled solo to the Skywalk from northern Vancouver Island with my 4 year-old son who was pumped for the experience, particularly to try out the slide which I had been drumming up for days. Upon arrival, I was told at the front gate that children have to be 42" tall in order to slide down the slide. This was unbeknownst to me and I can still find NO mention of this whatsoever on the attraction's website. Fortunately, by standing under the sign next to the front gate (see attached photo), my son and I learned that he was JUST barely 42" tall. My son, who was now almost in tears, jumped for joy with excitement. As a result, I purchased my somewhat pricey ticket (my son was free since he was under 5) and my son and I took the several hundred metre walk to the point where tickets are scanned by a second employee. The agent there now bluntly warned me that the slide was very fast and proceeded to inform me that children MUST slide down alone and cannot slide down accompanied by a parent. Why didn't the person gladly taking my $31.95 tell me this?! Again, I can STILL find no mention on the website that children must slide alone, nor was there any mention of this anywhere at the front gate (again, see attached photo). To make matters worse, winds on this particular day were EXTREMELY strong, so much so that we met a group of adults (which included a structural engineer) that informed us that they would not be walking to the top of the facility since they felt it was so unsafe due to the wind velocity. My son was holding on to me for dear life and was absolutely terrified so we elected to forego the climb to the top of the Skywalk, let alone his solo slide through the tube slide. Not only was I upset that I had never been told my son could not slide down unless he was 42" tall and if he only did so on his own, I was shocked that the facility continued to operate given the velocity of the wind. As we walked back to the front gate, I noted dozens of excited children walking to the Skywalk with their parents and I was saddened to think that management continued to accept everyone's money even though these children would likely be terrified by the high winds and disappointed that they could not slide down the slide unless they did so alone. I know the cash intake must be lucrative but I am baffled as to why the facility would even continue to operate during such high winds that even several employees noted were quite strong. I requested to speak to the manager who I learned is "Ken" and I politely explained our disappointment, having driven 2 hours in order to partake in this experience. I was very articulate and calm, particularly since I was still holding onto my 4 year-old son, who was now scared and freezing. I attempted to provide Ken with some constructive criticism with regard to improved marketing and information and he was very unwelcoming and abrupt. He agreed to refund my money and stormed away shouting, "It's pretty obvious!" Yes, "Ken", it's pretty obvious that you lack any management or customer service experience (especially at a tourist facility). I do understand that rules are rules but these should be readily available to those considering a visit to this attraction since I'm quite certain my son and I are not alone with respect to our disappointment. Upon our return home, I had to chuckle at all the photos on the website featuring children and I wondered if all of them were taller than 42", had opted to take the slide solo, or had to brave gale force winds. It appears that the Skywalk has been improperly advertised and marketed. What a shame since we had so much excitement prior to our visit. Tourists beware.
Fantastic experience and I went down the slide !!!
Just OK. Very underwhelming. The way the slide is managed is very poor and uncoordinated. Would recommend for tourists or visiting family. Not for locals. Waste of $$.
We went on a rainy day and regret that now. The view is awesome and the walk is also easy. Loved the little wooden sculpted animals and birds. We got a foggy view from up there but loved every bit of it. There is a slide which you can take on the way back down instead of walking. Loved the experience.
An extremely unique view of the region. The slide was extremely popular, and the walk and the natural views around are spectacular. Gift shop is a bit light, but serviceable. It's $$$, so make sure you take the time to do as much as you can.
Beautiful views, fun slide. Well worth a visit.
This attraction is one of a kind. Beautifully designed and engineered with wood. Providing an elevated walkway above the forest floor to the viewing tower. The views are spectacular. The slide down is a lot of fun for all ages over 5.
Sorry about the 1 star. I could have accidentally hit it. I can't even remember I made a review. But I already change it to 5 stars because we enjoyed the amazing view of the nature.
Even though it was a bit cloudy on the day we went, it was a great experience! The walk from the car park to the tower is also very informative due to info signs. I was surprised that you could see the US from the top of the spiral tower and I loved the adventure net. From the top, we saw something swimming in the water coming towards the shore but we could not define what it was. Maybe a bear swimming in the water? Tower viewers would be a great upgrade to the overall experience! I would have loved to know what the swimming object was.
Really neat place! Looks awesome and has potential. Sadly it's way overpriced for what you get. If you want to ride the slide, bring long sleeves (the burns aren't worth it) and be willing to wait for quite a while, twice! The view from the top is pretty awesome, but know that you are going to be walking uphill around the tower for a while. The cafeteria is tiny, more like a food truck and very limited as to what you can get. And for the cost, microwaved pizza is definately sub par. They are trying and have just opened, so I'll give them that.
The Malahat Skywalk is a very good tourist attraction but getting there is another story. There tower is very tall! It is a long walk to get to the tower from there the view is spectacular. Make sure you get a mat while you go up (they have 100 mats in total) So that instead of walking down all the way, you can go to the bottom of the tower in 19 seconds by slide!!! The walk there has beautifully carved animals and tons of nature!!!! This Attraction is amazing and I would definitely go again!
Nice treewalk to the spiral ramp that leads to a spectacular view of at the top. You can walk back or ride the spiral slide (long wait for the slide mats and ride). Very easy admission process (better to buy tickets online), clean amenities and enough parking space (it could be different on a weekend). A bit expensive and not dog-friendly.
Nice place. Not for the faint of heart if you have fear of heights, otherwise, you are going to enjoy.
Was an great way to spend the afternoon. The view is amazing and looking down seems higher than was expecting. Slide is fun and worth the wait
